Superstar Christina Applegate hit back at a troll who claimed her looks have changed because of a “plastic surgeon” and not the star’s multiple sclerosis diagnosis that she revealed in 2021.

It started after the 51-year-old actress told her 1.6 million followers that she had made a mistake and read through the comments of a recent article from People magazine about her and her kids at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards.

“Sooooo I made the unfortunate decision to look at some comments on an article from People [magazine] about me and my kids at the CCA,” Applegate tweeted.

“Of course I told her that it wasn’t nice,” she added. “This was her reply. What is wrong with people. By the way, I laughed.'”

“The “Bad Moms” star then shared a screenshot of the reply she got from the person she referenced in her tweet claiming that she looked different because of “bad” plastic surgery.

“MS didn’t make you look that way,” the troll wrote, referencing the “Dead to Me” star’s diagnosis.

“A plastic surgeon did,” the message added. “And you are a scammer and not [Christina] Applegate. And a bad plastic surgeon at that.”

In an earlier post, Applegate tweeted about how excited yet nervous she was to attend the show because it would be her first awards show since her diagnosis.

“So this Sunday will be the first awards show I have been to since 2019,” the actress shared. “And the first since MS. NERVOUS! But grateful to the [Critics Choice] for including me.”

She later posted a picture of her dressed for the show as she posed for a snap with her 11-year-old daughter, Sadie, Page Six noted.

“Just a fun fact, the suit my kid is wearing was Scott Weiland’s suit from one of his solo album covers,” Applegate tweeted. “Scott gave my husband, Martyn, that suit long ago in the glorious 90’s Also we were quite a pair last night. She fractured her ankle this week, hence the boot, and me … MS.”

In December, “The Sweetest Thing” star talked about how she uses humor to “deflect” from her “incredibly hard” MS battle.

“When people see me now as a disabled person, I want them to feel comfortable,” Applegate shared during her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “That we can laugh about it.”

She also noted that she’s doing “her best” to “get through it,” the outlet noted.
