<p>“This service will be a unifying event focused on prayer, mourning, and celebrating the life, legacy, and memory of Charlie Kirk — a national treasure whose life was cut far too short,” a press release from GOP Arizona state Sen. Jack Hoffman <a href="https://www.newsnationnow.com/politics/charlie-kirk-memorial-date-announced/#/questions/5662210">said</a>.</p>
<p>Kirk, 31, was assassinated while answering questions at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. He had massive influence with young conservatives, having founded TPUSA at just 18 years old. Kirk was known for speaking openly about his Christian faith as much as his politics.</p>
<p>Vigils have been held across the country in Kirk&#8217;s honor.</p>

<p>Kirk’s suspected assassin Tyler Robinson, 22, was “deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology,” according to Republican Utah Governor Spencer Cox. Robinson was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suspected-charlie-kirk-killer-reportedly-lived-with-trans-identifying-partner?topStoryPosition=undefined&amp;author=Tim+Pearce&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=0&amp;row=1&amp;rowHeadline=Top+Stories&amp;rowType=Top+Stories&amp;title=Suspected+Charlie+Kirk+Killer+Reportedly+Lived+With+Trans-Identifying+Partner">reportedly</a> living with a trans-identifying partner.</p>
<p>He&#8217;s facing state charges including aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, and obstruction of justice.</p>
<p>President Donald Trump announced this week that he will posthumously award Kirk the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The pair were extremely close, and the Trump family recently said the president viewed Kirk &#8220;like a son.&#8221;</p>
<p>“They said, ‘Charlie Kirk is dead,'&#8221; Trump <a href="https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1966488779377504740">recounted</a> learning of Kirk&#8217;s murder. &#8220;I didn’t know what they meant. I said, ‘What do you mean, dead?’ ‘Charlie Kirk was shot…’ I just told these people, ‘Get out. Just go.’”</p>
