Critics of ABC’s “The View” were surprised Whoopi Goldberg was punished at all for comments she made regarding race, Jewish people, and the Holocaust during a segment earlier this month. The moderator received a two-week suspension because of what she said.

But that’s nothing compared to the punishment inflicted on Sharon Osbourne, who used to be a panel member on CBS’s “The Talk.” While being questioned by a TMZ reporter, the former talk show star was asked if she’d ever consider returning to “The Talk” if CBS asked, especially in light of Whoopi’s slap on the wrist punishment.

“I would never go back to that show because CBS sucks big time d***,” Osbourne told the publication. It sounds like that door is closed forever now.

The 69-year-old star got booted from “The Talk” after getting into a heated exchange on-air over her friend Piers Morgan’s comments on Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

British journalist Morgan was facing criticism for saying he “didn’t believe a word” of Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, which she gave alongside her husband, Prince Harry. Markle had said the couple was pushed away from the royal family because of racism. Osbourne defended Morgan by saying his assertions weren’t racist. These public statements led to “The Talk” getting pulled from the air and eventually to Osbourne being let go from the show.

Osbourne had been defending herself to fellow co-host Sheryl Underwood.

“I feel like I’m about to be put in the electric chair because I have a friend who many people think is racist, so that makes me a racist,” Osbourne said while crying on an episode of the show. “I will ask you again Sheryl … and don’t try and cry because if anyone should be crying, it should be me. This is the situation, you tell me where you have heard him say racist things. Educate me.”

Underwood replied, “It’s not the exact words of racism. It’s the implication and the reaction to it. To not want to address that because [Markle] is a black woman and to try to dismiss it, or to make it seem like less than what it is, that’s what makes it racist.”

After extreme backlash, Osbourne released an apology, but was canceled anyway. Morgan responded by demanding an apology for himself after watching his friend get dragged through the mud for defending him.

“Sharon’s been shamed & bullied into apologising for defending me against colleagues accusing me of racism because I don’t believe Meghan Markle’s bulls***,” Morgan tweeted at the time. “This is where we’ve reached. I demand an apology from those @TheTalkCBS bullies for their disgraceful slurs against ME.”

Meanwhile, Goldberg came under fire while discussing the graphic novel “Maus” when she claimed that the Holocaust was “not about race,” because the Nazis and the Jews were both white. She stated that “man’s inhumanity to man” was the real issue.

The “View” moderator apologized and got suspended for two weeks for her words. Many critics cited Osbourne’s treatment in comparison to Goldberg’s as an example of media bias.
