MSNBC’s Chuck Todd noticed something interesting in the latest batch of leaked Clinton campaign emails and finally shed some light on the age-old question, “How many liberals does it take to write one pandering tweet for their corrupt career political candidate?” Answer: 12.
That’s right, in an email chain exposed by WikiLeaks, 12 Clinton staffers over the course of 12 hours went through 10 different drafts before finalizing one single 134-character ghostwritten tweet for Crooked Hillary about raising the minimum wage.
Worth noting that Clinton’s campaign maintains that an “H” means that the tweet was sent by Hillary herself. It may be time to change the signoff to “H+12.”
Drafts included:
#1 – “Every American deserves a fair shot at success with a true living wage. I stand with fast food workers in the #fightfor15. -H”
Some staffers apparently thought that was too strong a statement, so they tried again.
#2 – “Every American deserves a fair shot at success with a true living wage. I applaud fast food workers in their #fightfor15. -H”
#3 – “With corporate profits at record highs, it’s time for a real raise for all working Americans.”
Then back to the original.
#5 – “Every American deserves a fair shot at success with a true living wage. I stand with fast food workers in the #fightfor15. -H”
The next iteration kicked it up a notch by expressing solidarity with childcare workers marching, but alas it had too many characters.
#6 – “Every American deserves a fair shot at success with a true living wage. Fast food & child care workers shouldn’t have to march in streets for living wages #Fightfor15 -H
The writers continue to work around Twitter’s character limit by shaving off punctuation and hashtags with one person eventually suggesting to scrap the entire thing.
But they ultimately settle on draft #6 and tweet it out, minus the hashtag:
