<p>California’s Santa Clara County is promoting a “rapid response” network to track Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in San Jose and other Bay Area cities, already tracking down two ICE sightings.</p>
<p>The network logged ICE agents operating in San Jose over the weekend, with at least one detainment reported.</p>
<p>Members of the response network received a tip that ICE was operating there before pinpointing and following the federal law enforcement agents. San Jose Councilmember Peter Ortiz joined members of the network. “I was in a car, and we just started following ICE throughout the area, documenting what we saw, documenting what we were told.”</p>
<p>An illegal alien from Columbia residing in San Jose is believed to have been detained by ICE. The ICE effort is part of President Donald Trump&#8217;s mass deportation operation, which has targeted criminal illegal aliens in cities across the country.</p>
<p>Critics say that the response network, which works to protect criminal illegal aliens from deportations, also puts federal law enforcement at risk during enforcement operations.</p>
<p>The rapid response network is promoted on the Santa Clara County government website.</p>
<p>“If you see ICE activity in Santa Clara County, you may call the Rapid Response Network,” the county’s site says. “The Rapid Response Network (RRN) in Santa Clara County is a community defense project developed to protect families from deportation threats and to provide support during and after a community member’s arrest or detention.” The network also provides suspected illegal aliens with immigration lawyers.</p>
<p>San Jose Democratic Mayor Matt Mahan <a href="https://www.ktvu.com/news/rapid-response-network-confirms-ice-activity-san-jose?taid=6796d13715e6af0001b8b460&amp;utm_campaign=trueanthem&amp;utm_medium=trueanthem&amp;utm_source=twitter">said</a> that the city’s police department does not cooperate with ICE in any way but was notified that the federal agency would be carrying out the enforcement operations. Santa Clara County is a sanctuary county and <a href="https://sanjosespotlight.com/santa-clara-county-lawmakers-make-no-changes-to-ice-detainer-policy/">does not allow</a> local law enforcement to honor ICE detainers, which ICE uses to gain custody of illegal aliens who’ve been charged with a crime and taken to jail.</p>

California County Boasts ‘Rapid Response Network’ To Track ICE Agents

<p>An illegal alien and suspected member of foreign terror organization Tren de Aragua has been charged with attempted murder of a federal officer after he violently resisted arrest and attacked FBI and Homeland Security agents.</p>
<p>The 30-year-old Venezuelan illegal alien Gabriel Hurtado-Cariaco was hit with the federal charge after he attacked an FBI agent and Homeland Security Investigations agent who attempted to apprehend him in Bellevue, Nebraska.</p>
<p>The Department of Justice (DOJ) explained that Hurtado-Cariaco violently resisted arrest, injuring one agent when the illegal alien sent the agent’s head slamming against the pavement. The suspected Tren de Aragua member also placed one agent in a chokehold during the altercation, not letting go until the other agent placed Hurtado-Cariaco in a chokehold.</p>
<p>“Deadly violence against law enforcement officers will not be tolerated by this Department of Justice,” Attorney General Pam Bondi charged. “We have charged this illegal alien with attempted murder.”</p>
<p>After the attack, Hurtado-Cariaco fled on foot before being successfully captured by the federal agents at his apartment. The injured agent was then transported to the hospital.</p>
<p>&#8220;Federal law enforcement officers are tasked with enforcing the laws of the United States and they must be able to do so safely,” U.S. Attorney Lesley A. Woods said. “These federal agents maintained their professionalism while being met with potentially fatal violence. Despite sustaining injuries, the agents did not give up and made a successful arrest.”</p>
<p>The illegal alien has since appeared before a judge, who ordered that he must remain in law enforcement custody. Hurtado-Cariaco could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted of the crime.</p>
<p>“The arrest and prosecution of this vicious Tren de Aragua gang member underscores our unwavering commitment to protecting our law enforcement officers in the line of duty,” Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche asserted. “Violent attacks from terrorists against those who serve our communities will be met with swift and decisive justice.”</p>

Suspected Tren De Aragua Member Charged With Attempted Murder After Attacking Federal Agent

<p>Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-admin-fights-deport-convicted-murderer-shielded-biden-era-torture-protection">arrested</a> Alexander Alfredo Palacios Guevara, an illegal alien, in Los Angeles, but the federal agency found that it might not have the authority to deport him back to El Salvador due to a Biden-era legal decision.</p>
<p>Guevara was granted a deportation protection order in December 2024 as the Biden administration was nearing an end after he claimed he was at risk of being tortured if he was returned to his homeland.</p>
<p>“A highly unusual Biden-era legal decision from December allowed this dangerous criminal to live in American communities,” an ICE spokesman <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-admin-fights-deport-convicted-murderer-shielded-biden-era-torture-protection">told Fox News</a> before also laying out Guevara’s criminal history. “This criminal alien should never have been roaming the streets of Los Angeles. Not only is he a member of the ruthless Surenos gang, but he also has multiple convictions for murder, assault and rape or sexual abuse of a minor.”</p>
<p>Guevara, who was given a Deferral of Removal under the Convention Against Torture (CAT), was briefly released by ICE, though the law enforcement agency recaptured him just a day later due to the risk he poses to the public.</p>
<p>The criminal alien now sits in ICE custody as a legal battle that could decide Guevara’s fate makes its way to the Supreme Court.</p>
<p>The Trump administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-deports-murderers-and-rapists-to-south-sudan-but-judge-might-order-their-return-to-u-s">deported</a> several violent criminal illegal aliens, including Cuban and Vietnamese nationals, to South Sudan last month. The deportation flight was arranged with the African country after the illegal aliens’ home countries were unwilling to take them back. The flight was swiftly challenged in court, with a U.S. district judge ruling that the Trump administration must maintain custody over the illegal aliens in order to “ensure the practical feasibility of return if the Court finds that such removals were unlawful.”</p>
<p>The Trump administration has <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025/may/28/south-sudan-flights-trump-supreme-court">asked</a> the Supreme Court to weigh in on the case. If the administration wins, Guevara could be deported to a “third country” willing to accept deportees.</p>

<p>The Los Angeles Dodgers say they turned away ICE agents hoping to use their grounds as a staging area for enforcement operations as left-wing protesters gathered out in front of Dodger Stadium.</p>
<p>The Major League Baseball franchise issued a statement denying claims from left-wing activists that it was allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to use the stadium grounds.</p>

<p>“This morning, ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots,” the Dodgers posted to social media Thursday. “They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization. Tonight’s game will be played as scheduled.”</p>
<p>The statement came as left-wing organizations shared images of what appear to be federal law enforcement vehicles on the stadium grounds and gathered for a protest out front of the park.</p>
<p>“Dozens of ICE vehicles posted up at Dodgers Stadium Gate E. Folks are suspecting that they may be bringing people here after conducting raids,” one left-wing group <a href="https://x.com/PplsCityCouncil/status/1935735659966103750">said</a> on social media, calling the federal law enforcement agents “fascist pigs.”</p>
<p>Local media similarly <a href="https://abc7.com/post/ice-agents-seen-staging-dodger-stadium-amid-reports-more-raids-la-county/16791028/">reported</a> that dozens of ICE agents had been seen staging on the stadium grounds before the Dodgers requested that they leave.</p>
<p>The same activist group shared videos online of leftist protesters gathering at one of the entrances to the park, with a row of Los Angeles Police Officers preventing them from entering the park. Some protesters <a href="https://x.com/bad_tenant/status/1935770513684807707">directed their ire</a> at the baseball franchise for allegedly cooperating with the federal law enforcement agents.</p>

<p>The Department of Homeland Security <a href="https://x.com/DHSgov/status/1935787097048109231">clarified</a> in a statement that Customs and Border Protection agents, not ICE agents, were briefly in the parking lot, and that they were not presence was not related to any enforcement action.</p>
<p>The protest at the park comes amid sustained public unrest in the southern California city, with left-wing rioters <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/we-are-coming-for-you-feds-reveal-more-charges-against-anti-ice-rioters">attacking</a> police officers and destroying property as organizers <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/leftwing-activist-network-distributes-riot-gear-to-los-angeles-anti-ice-agitators?author=Spencer+Lindquist&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=5&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Meet+The+Leftwing+Activist+Using+Social+Media+To+Funnel+Riot+Gear+To+Anti-ICE+Protests">distributed riot gear</a> to the agitators.</p>
<p>Some protesters have even gathered outside of hotels housing ICE agents as they called for the federal agents to be kicked out of their rooms. A local branch of the Democratic Party even shared the location of ICE agents and mobilized protesters at their hotels, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democrat-party-doxxes-ice-agents-in-los-angeles-holds-protests-at-their-hotels">revealed</a>.</p>

L.A. Dodgers Say They Turned Away ICE Agents As Leftist Protesters Gather At Stadium

<p>U.S. Border Patrol agents found and shut down a massive tunnel linking Tijuana, Mexico, to San Diego, California, built to unlawfully smuggle narcotics into the United States.</p>
<p>The tunnel spanned nearly 3,000 feet, extending more than 1,000 feet into the United States, with a projected exit point near a warehouse in San Diego, California. It featured a sophisticated ventilation system, electrical wiring, lighting, and a rail track for transporting drugs. In February, the Trump administration designated six Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.</p>
<p>“As we continue to strengthen the nation’s air, and maritime border security, it’s not surprising that foreign terrorist organizations would resort to underground routes,” <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/local-media-release/san-diego-sector-border-patrol-uncovers-sophisticated-cross-border">said</a> Jeffrey D. Stalnaker, the Acting Chief Patrol Agent of the San Diego Sector. “Disruption of narcotics smuggling tunnels is critical to protecting American lives.”</p>
<p>Federal authorities first discovered the tunnel while it was under construction in April, sending the San Diego Border Patrol Sector Tunnel Team in to investigate the project. Those agents, Border Patrol says, encountered various barricades that “were placed haphazardly by the tunnel workers” in an effort to prevent law enforcement from investigating the passageway into America.</p>
<p>Mexican authorities also investigated the tunnel and discovered the origin point in a residence in Tijuana.</p>
<p>“I’m grateful for the exceptional work of the Tunnel Team agents who placed themselves in danger, as well as the cooperation of our Mexican law enforcement partners,” Stalnaker said.</p>
<p>The tunnel will now be filled with thousands of gallons of concrete to prevent it from being used by drug smugglers. Mexican cartels have carved tunnels into the United States for decades. Nearly 100 tunnels have been discovered and obstructed since 1993 in the San Diego area alone.</p>

Secret Tunnel Built To Smuggle Drugs Into U.S. Shut Down By Border Patrol

<p>The Trump administration’s Department of the Treasury on Wednesday announced sanctions on leaders of a ruthless Mexican drug cartel in a move that the federal agency says will hinder the organization’s drug trafficking operations.</p>
<p>The sanctions targeted five key figures of the Cartel de Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG), a vicious criminal enterprise that produces illicit drugs and traffics them into the United States.</p>
<p>“CJNG’s reign of terror across Mexico and its trafficking of fentanyl into the United States has destroyed countless innocent lives,” Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sb0169">said</a>. “The United States remains strongly committed to leveraging all available tools to degrade the capacity of CJNG and other cartels to flood our streets with dangerous drugs and perpetrate heinous acts of violence against civilians.”</p>
<p>Any property held by the five cartel members in the United States will now be frozen and reported to the federal government.</p>
<p>The Treasury Department described the organization as “a brutally violent cartel responsible for a significant share of fentanyl and other illicit drugs entering the United States,” adding, “It uses murder as a tactic to intimidate rivals, including sending messages to other cartels through the targeted killings of women.”</p>
<p>CJNG’s founder and leader, Ruben Oseguera Cervantes, known as “El Mencho,” was among the five men targeted.</p>
<p>“Under Oseguera’s direction, CJNG operatives have assassinated rivals, Mexican law enforcement, judges, and other government officials,” the Treasury Department noted, also pointing out that Oseguera’s leadership allowed the cartel to “function like a franchise business across several Mexican states,” allowing the criminal enterprise to spread across the country and rake in billions of dollars from the drug trade.</p>
<p>The Treasury also sanctioned Julio Alberto Castillo Rodriguez, who it identified as a senior CJNG member and the son-in-law of Oseguera. Castillo, believed to be a possible successor to Oseguera, operates a port in southwestern Mexico that the cartel uses to import fentanyl precursors.</p>
<p>Another target, Gonzalo Mendoza Gaytan, is known to recruit new CJNG members and train them at Izaguirre Ranch, a facility in the Mexican state of Jalisco, according to the Trump administration. Mendoza “directed lieutenants to train new CJNG recruits and kill those who defied instructions” and “has also been involved in the murder of numerous law enforcement officers,” the Treasury Department said.</p>
<p>The Treasury hit two more CJNG operatives, Audias Flores Silva and Ricardo Ruiz Velasco, with sanctions. Flores is a regional CJNG commander over several Mexican states and oversees laboratories that produce methamphetamine, while Ruiz runs the CJNG’s propaganda wing. Ruiz is also believed to have killed his girlfriend during a live social media broadcast.</p>
<p>The flurry of sanctions comes after the Treasury Department previously unveiled similar sanctions against members of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trumps-treasury-dept-launches-sanctions-targeting-sinaloa-cartel">Sinaloa Cartel</a> and <a href="https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sb0146">Cartel de Noreste</a>. Treasury Dept Sanctions Five Key Leaders Of Mexican Drug Cartel

<p>Customs and Border Protection (CBP) did not release a single illegal alien into the United States during the month of May, a new report from the federal immigration enforcement agency revealed.</p>
<p>The figure lies in sharp contrast to May of 2024 under the Biden administration, when approximately 62,000 illegal aliens were released into the United States.</p>
<p>CBP agents encountered just 8,725 illegal aliens attempting to enter the United States between ports of entry last month. The number marks a whopping 93 percent decline since last May, when immigration enforcement authorities encountered more than 117,000 illegal aliens between ports of entry on the southwestern border.</p>
<p>Acting Commissioner of CBP Pete Flores <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/national-media-release/cbp-releases-may-2025-monthly-update">touted the success</a>, highlighting the work of the Trump administration.</p>
<p>“Under the leadership of this administration, CBP has received historic support resulting in another 93% decrease in illegal crossings along the southwest border this month when compared with last year,” Flores said. “Border numbers continue to trend at historic lows, reinforcing the sustained success of our enforcement efforts in securing the homeland and protecting American communities.”</p>
<p>“This administration has seen the fastest improvement in American border security of all time,” Customs and Border Protection posted on X.</p>

<p>CBP agents also seized hundreds of pounds of deadly drugs, including 718 pounds of fentanyl. The law enforcement agency noted that cocaine seizures jumped by 19 percent from April to May, while heroin seizures surged 191 percent during the same period of time.</p>
<p>Border numbers began to plummet almost immediately upon President Donald Trump taking office at the start of this year. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/border-crossings-plunge-90-to-historic-lows-under-trump-crackdown">Data</a> from the first weeks in February revealed that border crossings had already dropped 90 percent in the first few weeks of the new presidency.</p>
<p>“​We haven’t had numbers this low since the 1960s,” Mark Krikorian, the executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, remarked at the time.</p>
<p>The decrease in illegal border crossings proved to be even more drastic than the early data suggested, with Vice President JD Vance <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/vance-does-victory-lap-at-border-all-it-took-was-a-new-president">celebrating</a> a 98 percent reduction in illegal immigration during a visit to the border in early March.</p>
