Speaking on Fox News, Pastor Rhyan Glezman, the brother-in-law of Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg, ripped Buttigieg, asserting,  “everything that Pete is pushing is, it’s anti-God.” Glezman also accused Buttigieg of “intellectual dishonesty” for saying there was no “compatibility” between being a Trump supporter and believing in the Bible.

Buttigieg was prompted in a CNN townhall on Tuesday by CNN host Erin Burnett, who asked, “Do you think that it’s impossible to be a Christian and support Trump?” Buttigieg responded, “I’m not going to tell other Christians how to be Christian, but I will say I cannot find any compatibility between the way this president conducts himself and anything that I find in Scripture.”

Buttigieg had appeared on ABC’s “The View,” where Meghan McCain asked him about partial-birth abortion and where he drew the line on abortion, to which Buttigieg replied, “But my point is that it shouldn’t be up to a government official to draw the line. It should be up to the woman who’s confronted.”

Glezman, the senior pastor at the Community Church of God in Clio, Michigan, stated:

Yeah, in the height of intellectual dishonesty for Pete to make claims that there’s no compatibility with being a Christian and voting for Trump, (when) Pete, in fact, is the one who is pushing agendas and rhetoric that is against, clearly against Scripture. It’s very interesting to me that Pete wants to use that terminology; you played that clip from “The View” and I’m just in a state of lament when you hear that we have someone running for commander in chief who can’t make a moral decision on whether to keep a child after it’s already been born or to have it killed. What kind of moral suggestions is he going to be given if he can’t come to an understanding of that? It’s just, it’s alarming; it’s extreme; it just concerns me . . . it’s unbelievable.

Asked whether partial-birth abortion was consistent with Christian teaching, Glezman answered, “Absolutely not. You will find nowhere in Scripture — I’d encourage Pete and everyone in America to read Psalm 139, 13 through 16, where God says in his won word that every single person is fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God.  Go to Jeremiah 1:5 where it talks about God knew us before we ever in our mother’s womb. You know, Jesus says in Scripture, all throughout the New Testament, Jesus says, I’ve come to give life, and to give life more abundantly. Jesus came to give life, not take life.”

He continued, “So this is completely against the word of God; it’s outlandish for someone like Pete to be pushing this pro-abortion, anti-God rhetoric like he is on the campaign trail.”

Glezman concluded, “Just everything that Pete is pushing is, it’s anti-God. I’m just gonna be honest with you. Nothing lines up with Scripture, and for him to make cases like to say that you cannot be a Christian and vote for Trump, he’s the one that is openly contradicting God’s word over and over. I know he uses Scripture over and over because he knows the importance to the American people of what the Founding Fathers founded America on, which was Judeo-Christian values.”
