New father Brody Jenner says the thing he looks forward to the most as a new dad is parenting differently than his father, transgender-identifying reality star Caitlyn Jenner.
Brody, 39, said in a video released last week that he didn’t have a good relationship with Jenner, adding that his dad “wasn’t really around” for him.
“I think that what I’m most excited about is doing things differently than my father did,” Brody admitted.
“Growing up, I didn’t have the greatest relationship with then-Bruce,” the 39-year-old continued. “He wasn’t really around for me growing up. So, I think that just being — just doing the exact opposite, being the absolute best father I can possibly be [is what I want].”
“Hopefully I can just be the absolute best father,” Brody echoed in the video. Brody and his fiancée Tiarah “Tia” Blanco had a baby girl, whom they named Honey Raye, at the end of July.

Jenner, an Olympic gold medalist, told the world in 2015 that he identifies as a woman and goes by the name Caitlyn, and no longer Bruce.
Jenner has six children from three now-ex-wives. Two of the children with ex Kris Jenner, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, have sparingly spoken about their father’s transition with the public.
Kendall, for example, said in 2015, “My dad is my dad, but he’s not there physically anymore. But she lets me call her dad — that’s the last little piece of dad I’ve got.”
The reeling families left behind by adults who choose a transgender lifestyle are often not discussed. Daily Wire host Michael Knowles, however, recently interviewed a Texas woman named Tracy Shannon, dubbed a “trans widow.”
Shannon says her family was torn apart when her husband tossed aside his family — including his three children — to fully embrace his cross-dressing sexual fetish and live a transgender lifestyle.

Shannon told Knowles that her husband, whom she was married to for 15 years, declined to tell her before their nuptials that he enjoyed cross-dressing. When she found out about the fetish around four years into the marriage, Shannon made it clear she was uncomfortable with such behavior. But her husband refused to stop.
Most disturbingly, Shannon explained the toll her ex-husband’s choices have had on their children. She recalled their “embarrassment,” the alleged abuse they suffered at their father’s home, and revealed that there have been six suicide attempts between her three children with her ex.
“Between the three of them, there have been six suicide attempts of different degrees of seriousness and one hospitalization in a mental health facility for a pretty good period of time, for one,” Shannon told Knowles.
“And I’m being called the bigot, you know, for not wanting to be on board with all this, for not supporting it,” she added. “We used to protect children, we used to protect the family, and honor the truth.”
