Britney Spears has responded to a report that she sold her mansion in Southern California for millions less than she paid for it only nine months after purchasing the home.
In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, the 41-year-old singer explained that she likes what she likes and said the mansion in Calabasas was very beautiful but didn’t feel like home, UPROXX reported.
“My house is pretty big and the last home I bought was pretty,” Spears told her 41 million followers. “Most would say it was by far a more beautiful home … but I stayed for 5 or 6 months and came right back to my normal bedroom … I like what I like and that’s okay … nobody can tell me what is the best for me.”

“They can give me their advice if I request it … but I’m in love with the life I have built for myself,” she added. “I should be, it’s f***ing beautiful.”
The “Womanizer” hitmaker explained that most wealthy people in greater Los Angeles own “lavish over the top homes with a pool” but said she’d not been impressed by that one bit.
“I’m honestly offended when I go to those big hotels or homes and the TVs come out from a picture above the fireplace,” the singer wrote. “I think that is the dumbest most unattractive thing I’ve ever seen and it’s silly because most people’s homes I’ve been to like that are so proud.”

At one point, the “Toxic” hitmaker changed the topic, explaining all the “hard work” she has done to stop her father from inflicting “abuse and controlling me, literally messing with my head after 13 years believe it or not people.”
In November 2021, a judge ruled to terminate the conservatorship Spears had been under since 2008, controlled by her father. Since then, some fans have worried the singer is struggling after posting numerous nude photos, rants, and strange videos on social media. But others say she’s just being herself.
