A Florida federal judge sentenced former Rep. Corrine Brown (D-FL) on Monday to five years in prison for her role in heading a criminal conspiracy to use a fake charity for poor children as her personal slush fund.
In May, a federal jury convicted Brown, 71, of 18 out of the 22 charges filed against her which included fraud, lying on tax returns, and lying on congressional financial disclosure forms, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
