Comedian and actor Bill Burr said this week that actor Johnny Depp is “f***ing destroying” in his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard and might be owed public apologies from people who “trashed him,” if the case continues on to show Heard as “lying.”

Depp is suing Heard for more than $50 million over an op-ed the actress penned at The Washington Post in 2018, claiming to be a victim of domestic violence. Heard has countersued for $100 million.

“I heard he is absolutely destroying her,” Burr said on his Monday Morning Podcast, adding, “from what I’ve seen, the guy is f***ing destroying this woman for lying.”

“I’m wondering, all these people who just accepted her lies, if they’re gonna apologize somehow, because they publicly trashed him,” the “Mandalorian” actor continued. “It’d be nice if they then publicly apologized, and said, maybe next time we won’t jump to conclusions.”

Burr told listeners he’s watched “bits and pieces” of the trial and is receiving a second-hand account from a “buddy.”

“Johnny is absolutely destroying her,” the friend told Burr.

The comedian went on to talk about the #MeToo movement and feminism more generally, seemingly honing-in on the “believe all women” mantra.

“It really does amaze me how the pendulum just does not seem to swing the other way,” he said. “All of these women’s groups, when they see a woman lie likes this, which really hurts their position … for someone to go out and lie about it, it hurts the people that are actually in it.”

“You’d think that” feminist groups “would cover this,” he added. “I think it really hurts feminism.”

“If this really goes in the direction that everything she was saying was absolute bulls*** … if it all just pans out with a whole, ‘oh yeah, sorry about that.’ It just doesn’t f***ing seem right, and, ya know what, it doesn’t sit well with me!” the podcast host exclaimed.

“If I had the time, I would definitely be watching more of it,” he said, adding that if Depp “sweeps” the trial, it would make him “happy” because he “like[s] that guy.”

Burr also recalled receiving advice from someone to lock himself in another room if a female ever starts “swinging” at him, this way, the actor said, the man can avoid being falsely accused of hurting her.

“If a girl starts swinging on you, lock yourself in the bathroom,” Burr recalled the advice.

“At some point, you have to get her off of you,” he explained, adding that you might accidentally hit the female’s wrist or something of the sort when trying to do so.
