<p>Since President Joe Biden loves to brag about being a devout Catholic, he should be familiar with the Bible verse found in Ecclesiastes 1:9, which states, &#8220;What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.&#8221; That sentiment is also true in American politics.</p>
<p>Just as we are currently dealing with, our nation has seen inflationary crises, energy emergencies, and illegal immigration surges before.</p>
<p>While the degree of those emergencies may have varied, the policy prescriptions for all of them have generally remained the same throughout the years. It is odd then that Biden — rather than learning from the past — is doing the exact opposite of what is needed to solve the issues.</p>
<p>Consider this — in the middle of a gas crisis, Biden is busy canceling oil leases. On Thursday, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/while-gas-hits-record-high-biden-administration-cancels-enormous-alaska-oil-and-gas-lease-sale">reported</a> that despite the record high price of gas in the U.S., the Biden administration has announced it is canceling the sale of a massive oil and gas lease location in Alaska that was pending before the Department of the Interior (DOI). Biden’s DOI also canceled two leases under consideration in the Gulf of Mexico.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, AAA announced on Wednesday that the national average price of regular gas had reached a record high of $4.40.</p>
<p>But since gas prices are a futures market, meaning their cost is partially dependent on signs from the government that oil production will be allowed, the energy industry “needs signals from the administration that they will support oil and gas development and production,&#8221; as Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/while-gas-hits-record-high-biden-administration-cancels-enormous-alaska-oil-and-gas-lease-sale">said</a> in March, in order to help lower costs.</p>
<p>Instead, Americans are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/buttigieg-electric-cars-will-make-it-so-americans-never-have-to-worry-about-gas-prices-again">being told</a> by his administration to purchase electric vehicles. Biden should be doing everything he can to keep oil and gas leases open, wherever they may be, to provide stability for American energy independence.</p>
<p>Illegal immigration has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/210000-illegal-aliens-arrested-at-border-in-march-more-than-80000-released-into-country">skyrocketed</a> under Biden. As the president and his gang discuss the <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2022/05/03/remarks-by-president-biden-on-the-security-assistance-to-ukraine/">importance of Ukrainian sovereignty</a>, they&#8217;ve abandoned all pretense of caring about America&#8217;s sovereignty, especially as it relates to the southern border. Title 42, a Trump-era public health rule implemented by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) during the COVID-19 pandemic that allows for the expedited removal of illegal aliens, is set to expire on May 23. The CDC said Title 42 is no longer needed because the COVID-19 pandemic does not warrant it anymore.</p>
<p>&#8220;Based on the public health landscape, the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the procedures in place for the processing of covered noncitizens, taking into account the inherent risks of transmission of SARS-CoV-2 in congregate settings, CDC has determined that a suspension of the right to introduce such covered noncitizens is no longer necessary to protect U.S. citizens …” the CDC <a href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2022/04/06/2022-07306/public-health-determination-and-order-regarding-suspending-the-right-to-introduce-certain-persons">wrote</a> regarding its decision.</p>
<p>If Title 42 is revoked, as many as 18,000 illegal aliens per day are expected to cross the southern border, according to Biden&#8217;s own Department of Homeland Security. At the same time, Biden is arguing that he needed $22.5 billion to combat the continued threat of COVID-19.</p>
<p>Why would we usher in a &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/migrant-tsunami-will-worsen-due-to-title-42-rollback-former-trump-and-biden-border-patrol-chief-says">tsunami</a>&#8221; of illegal aliens, with the repeal of COVID-19 era policy, if the virus is only going to get worse throughout the year? The two positions don&#8217;t exactly add up, but neither does Biden&#8217;s policy prescription for the border. An agenda that disincentivizes illegals from coming, including the continuation of Title 42, would arguably help limit illegal immigration, but Biden isn&#8217;t pushing that.</p>
<p>Then there’s inflation. Americans have <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/inflation-soars-7-9-in-past-12-months-new-40-year-high">experienced</a> the highest year-over-year inflation in 40 years this past spring. Biden has <a href="https://www.axios.com/2022/05/11/bidens-inflation-blame-game">blamed</a> Russian President Vladimir Putin, COVID-19, and the GOP for the rising prices. His administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/im-sick-of-this-stuff-biden-complains-that-the-american-people-believe-increased-government-spending-causes-inflation">has even refused</a> to admit that government spending partially contributes to inflation, while experts say it does.</p>
<p>If Biden can&#8217;t acknowledge one of the sources of the problem, then how can he find the solution?</p>
<p>The New York Post, in a piece well worth the read, <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/05/11/what-biden-can-do-to-lower-inflation-but-refuses-to/">argued</a> that the best way to end inflation is &#8220;restraining federal spending, encouraging energy exploration and ensuring that businesses can operate efficiently without expensive tariffs and over-regulation.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;The president and Congress have inflation-fighting tools at their disposal. The question is whether they will use them,&#8221; the Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/05/11/what-biden-can-do-to-lower-inflation-but-refuses-to/">added</a>.</p>
<p>Based on the fact that the Biden team hasn&#8217;t used every avenue possible to bring down rising gas prices and illegal immigration, it remains unlikely that they will use the proper methods to bring down inflation.</p>
<p>Perhaps the lesson here is that if there&#8217;s &#8220;nothing new under the sun,&#8221; as the Bible tells us, we shouldn&#8217;t be surprised if when the next issue arises under Biden&#8217;s watch, he chooses to do the exact opposite of what is needed. After all, &#8220;what has been will be again, what has been done will be done again.&#8221;</p>
