On Monday, Joe Biden put America’s national security at risk. And nobody cared.
Attempting to rip Donald Trump for his volatility, Biden stated that Trump couldn’t be trusted with the nuclear codes. He then said, “He cannot be trusted. There’s a guy that follows me, has the nuclear codes. So, God forbid anything happen to the president and I had to make a decision the codes are with me…He is not qualified.”
For those who don’t know, it’s rather risky to point out the exact agent holding the nuclear football.
But this isn’t the first time Biden has done this sort of thing. In May 2011, while speaking with reporters, Biden revealed that the Navy SEALs had killed Osama Bin Laden. The Washington Times immediately reported that Navy SEALs began warning family members to remove personal information from their Facebook accounts to avoid targeting. Two months after bin Laden’s killing, terrorists in Afghanistan shot down a twin-rotor Chinook carrying members of SEAL Team Six. Thirty Americans were killed, the worst loss America had experienced in Afghanistan.
One of the SEALs’ father, Billy Vaughn, said, “The media has let [Biden] get away with saying ‘Uncle Joe’s gaffes.’ This is not Uncle Joe and he’s not some senile old grandfather. He is the second in command of the most powerful country in the world and he needs to take responsibility for the comments he makes and quit being given a pass.”
But of course, Biden continually gets a pass.
Meanwhile, Trump is held to an actual standard of behavior – and polls show that Americans don’t trust him.
That’s largely thanks to the media. Trump’s untrustworthiness is his own fault – he’s the candidate, and it’s his job to calm those fears. But the media have made it their full-time mission in life to go easy on Democrats, to write off their corruption and stupidity as “old news.” That means that Democrats get away with behavior that would finish any Republican.
