Beauty queen and ambassador for conservative group Turning Point USA (TPUSA) Zoe Sozo Bethel is in a coma following a tragic accident, the young woman’s family disclosed Wednesday.
“This message comes from the family of Zoe Bethel,” a message posted to Instagram started. “Zoe had an accident Thursday night, February 10th, & sustained severe damage to her brain/brainstem & is in a coma.”
“Unfortunately the doctors are saying the damage cannot be repaired & that she may not have much time left,” the message continued. “We are praying for God’s will to be done, regardless of what that may look like.”
“This has been an abrupt & very traumatizing situation for our family, & we can imagine how much of a shock this will also be to everyone who knows & cares for her,” the family said. “We ask that everyone please respect the privacy of our family during this time. Keep Zoe & the family in your prayers!”

The family linked to a GoFundMe account for “those who would like to show support.”
The fundraising account says any money donated will go toward expenses from “current procedures performed, future life sustaining medicine, recovery & therapy (if applicable), funeral & memorial expenses (if applicable),” and “resources for Zoe’s daughter.”
“We know Zoe has many people who care about her and who would like a way to show support for her in any way they are able to,” the fundraiser reads. “It is difficult to speak about things such as high medical expenses during a time like this, but the reality is that Zoe did not have medical insurance, and having had multiple surgeries of this caliber will be a massive expense. As of now we have not received a final bill from the hospital, but from our research and overall knowledge of medical expenses and also with her not having health insurance, we have set the conservative goal above, which is likely to fluctuate.”
According to an interview from The Conservateur published in April, Sozo was a reporter for Right Side Broadcasting Network, and a brand ambassador for Turning Point USA and Liberty University’s Falkirk Center.
“At a young age she was taught to stand up for the truth and to never be apologetic,” the interview opens. “Zoe is also a former model who was released from the agency she was signed with after her support of President Trump. The incident gave Zoe the motivation to be a role model and advocate for free speech and self expression. Zoe serves as inspiration for the American youth, using her situation to remind them that free speech is a fundamental American right protected by the Constitution. She is a proud Mother, Christian, and American.”
Sozo recently attended TPUSA’s AmericaFest in December, where she was a special guest, her Instagram reveals.
