<p>An attorney for the estranged wife of the man accused of killing six women in the Gilgo Beach area of Long Island, New York, says the man is also the main suspect in a seventh murder.</p>
<p>Robert Macedonio, the attorney representing the suspect’s estranged wife, said the Gilgo Beach serial killer is the main suspect in a seventh murder, CBS News <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/newyork/news/rex-heuermann-family-1-year-after-arrest/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> but didn’t provide any additional information.</p>
<p>The Daily Wire is not naming the suspect due to a policy regarding mass killers. His wife is also not being named because she is not accused of any wrongdoing.</p>
<p>Macedonia made the announcement from the suspect’s driveway in Massapequa Park on the 1-year anniversary of the man’s arrest. He had previously announced that he would give an update on the family on Saturday afternoon, Fox 5 New York <a href="https://www.fox5ny.com/news/wife-accused-gilgo-beach-killer-speaks-out" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.</p>
<p>Flanked by the suspect’s wife and their two children, Macedonio provided an update on the family’s situation, saying they are still “piecing their lives back together.”</p>
<p>&#8220;They are collateral damage to the alleged actions of [the suspect]. Whether they happened or did not happen, whether he&#8217;s innocent or guilty, their lives are forever turned upside down,&#8221; Macedonio said.</p>
<p>The suspect’s estranged wife didn’t answer questions, but did give an update about her current battle with cancer.</p>
<p>&#8220;I&#8217;m not in remission yet. I have up to three years, then the doctors will see if I&#8217;m in remission,&#8221; she said.</p>
<p>She had been married to the suspect for 27 years but filed for divorce just six days after he was arrested. In March, she released <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suspected-gilgo-beach-serial-killers-wife-who-is-divorcing-him-now-says-husband-not-capable-of-murders" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a statement</a> saying her estranged husband is “not capable of the crimes he is accused of.”</p>
<p>“I will listen to all of the evidence and withhold judgment until the end of trial,” the wife said in a statement released through Macedonio. “I have given him the benefit of the doubt, as we all deserve.”</p>
<p>Macedonio reportedly said the wife visits the suspect weekly.</p>
<p>She also provided “heartfelt sympathies” to the victims and their families in her statement.</p>
<p>“Nobody deserves to die in that manner,” she added.</p>
<p>The suspect has pleaded not guilty to the murders of Megan Waterman, Melissa Barthelemy, and Amber Costello, who were found on a beach along the south shore of Long Island, New York, back in 2010. In January, the suspect <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gilgo-beach-serial-killer-suspect-charged-with-4th-murder" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was charged</a> with the murder of a fourth woman, Maureen Brainard-Barnes. In June, the suspect <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/suspected-gilgo-beach-serial-killer-charged-with-2-more-murders" target="_blank" rel="noopener">was charged</a> with the 2003 death of Jessica Taylor and the 1993 death of Sandra Costilla.</p>
