<p>At least 7 people were killed after a tornado swept through McNairy County, Tennessee, on Friday night as powerful <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/deadly-tornadoes-storms-ravage-midwest-concert-halls-roof-collapse-during-show">storms</a> ravaged parts of the South and Midwest.</p>
<p>The Emergency Management Agency director for McNairy County reported the deaths and said that many more were injured during the storm, <a href="https://www.actionnews5.com/2023/04/01/7-people-dead-after-storms-hit-mcnairy-county/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to Action News 5. McNairy County is <a href="https://www.travelmath.com/cities-near/McNairy+County,+TN" target="_blank" rel="noopener">roughly</a> 85 miles east of Memphis.</p>
<p>“The damage and loss that our community suffered last night was catastrophic,” the Adamsville police department announced in a Saturday statement. “We send our condolences to all of those who were impacted by this event, not just in our community, but across the entire region.”</p>
<p>Independent reporter Nick Sortor said one of the tornadoes in Tennessee blew his Jeep off the road, leaving him with a bloody head injury and a totaled vehicle.</p>
<p>&#8220;I truly believed I was going to die at the moment my car was picked up and tossed off the road by this massive tornado in Tennessee,” Sortor tweeted Friday night along with pictures of the aftermath.</p>

<p>At least 11 other people across five states were killed during the Friday night storms, <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/violent-tornado-outbreak-major-storm-leaves-millions-alert/story?id=98263258" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to ABC News. Five were killed and dozens were <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/video-dozens-hospitalized-after-massive-tornado-rips-through-little-rock" target="_blank" rel="noopener">injured</a> in Arkansas. A tornado blew through the state capital, Little Rock, and caused extensive damage, while the town of Wynne was virtually cut in two by the damage, according to Mayor Jennifer Hobbs. Mississippi, Alabama, and Illinois each reported one fatality, while Indiana saw three deaths.</p>
