<p>Far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) on Wednesday accused Republican House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) of working with &#8220;his Ku Klux Klan caucus&#8221; and allowing &#8220;violent targeting of [women of color] members of congress.&#8221;</p>
<p>The Democrat further criticized the entirety of the GOP for allegedly inciting threats against Democrats, leading them to &#8220;pay for the security required&#8221; as Republicans profit.</p>
<p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">&#8220;People truly don’t understand the scale, intensity, &amp; volume of threats targeting [Rep. Ilhan Omar],&#8221; AOC posted to Twitter. &#8220;</span><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Kevin McCarthy is so desperate to be speaker that he is working with his Ku Klux Klan caucus to look aside &amp; allow violent targeting of woc (women of color) members of Congress.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">&#8220;This cannot be ignored,&#8221; she added.</span></p>
<p>The post was published as a quote-tweet to Democratic Rep. Omar (D-MN) playing a threat she received via her phone. The implication is that Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is responsible for the threats made against the Democrat over comments she recently made about Omar, for which she has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boebert-apologizes-to-muslim-community-for-omar-remark">apologized</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;While people toss out clichés like &#8216;we condemn all forms of racism &amp; bigotry,&#8217; the fact is Islamophobia is far too often tolerated and ignored,&#8221; Rep. Ocasio-Cortez continued her rant. &#8220;Bigotry is not made unacceptable by what one says about it, it&#8217;s made acceptable based on whether there are consequences for it or not.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;It’s not just about nasty phone calls and e-mails,&#8221; the Democrat wrote. &#8220;GOP are given freedom to incite without consequence. They don’t have to pay for the security required from their acts- we do. They make money off it. [And] They are targeting those least likely to be institutionally protected first.&#8221;</p>

<p>As highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/boebert-apologizes-to-muslim-community-for-omar-remark">The Daily Wire</a> last week, Boebert during an event in her Colorado district &#8220;described an encounter with Omar in the halls of Congress as &#8216;not my first ‘Jihad Squad’ moment.’” Her comments were caught on <a href="https://twitter.com/patriottakes/status/1463903881553920004?s=21">video</a> and posted to Twitter.</p>
<p>Boebert tweeted a public apology via Twitter: “I apologize to anyone in the Muslim community I offended with my comment about Rep. Omar,&#8221; she wrote. &#8220;I have reached out to her office to speak with her directly. There are plenty of policy differences to focus on without this unnecessary distraction.&#8221;</p>
<p>When Boebert got into contact with Omar, the Democrat allegedly hung up on her.</p>
<p>“I believe in engaging with those we disagree with respectfully, but not when that disagreement is rooted in outright bigotry and hate,&#8221; Omar said in a statement, <a href="https://www.9news.com/article/news/local/local-politics/ilhan-omar-lauren-boebert-call-anti-muslim-remarks/73-3eb5f5a2-2fdf-4cd7-876e-a337130674b7">according</a> to 9News. “To date, the Republican Party leadership has done nothing to condemn and hold their own members accountable for repeated instances of anti-Muslim hate and harassment. This is not about one hateful statement or one politician; it is about a party that has mainstreamed bigotry and hatred.&#8221;</p>
