Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler And More Stars React To Overturn Of Roe V. Wade
Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler, Michael Moore, and more Hollywood celebrities reacted to the news Friday that the United States Supreme Court has overturned Roe v. Wade., with many describing the decision as an end to our Democracy.
In the 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court ruled there was no constitutional right to abortion and that abortion legislation should be left up to the states, as The Daily Wire previously reported.
Schumer shared a message on Instagram with her almost 12 million followers that read: “Are you ready to fight back when Roe is overturned?” The image included a phone number to text, and she captioned her post with nearly a dozen throwing up emoji faces.

Handler shared a screenshot of a tweet with her millions of followers that read: “3 Supreme Court justices were placed on the bench by a twice impeached president who did not win the popular vote and who led an insurrection. Our democracy is crumbling before our eyes. Wake up, fight back, no justice no peace!”

Moore reacted to the news using language typically reserved for tragic days in American history, like Pearl Harbor.
“THESE BASTARDS!” the 68-year-old filmmaker’s post read, in part. “The choices we make in the next few hours will determine the fate of our democracy. Minutes ago the Supreme Court ruled, once again, that women are indeed second-class citizens — stripped of their rights to control their own bodies, and forced to give birth should they become pregnant.”
“This is one of the worst abominations ever committed by this country,” he added. “And if we don’t act, RIGHT NOW, they will get away with it. So, on this day of infamy, I ask, I beg, I IMPLORE you —MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD! FLOOD THE STREETS!”
Others in Hollywood had similar meltdowns over the decision to overturn the 1973 landmark ruling, including Bette Midler, Patton Oswalt, Ellen DeGeneres, and many more.
Women have no right to make their own reproductive health decisions. Separation of Church and State is being obliterated. Everyone has a right to carry a concealed firearm. We’re being tyrannized by an Autocratic minority.

They did it. THEY DID IT TO US! #SCOTUS has overturned #RoevWade, enshrined in the Constitution as settled law for over 50 years. How dare they? This #SCOTUS is absolutely tone-deaf to the will and even the actual needs of the American people. #WakeUpAmerica

Throughout history, women haven’t been trusted. Not to vote, or to decide who they marry, and now to make their own decisions about their bodies. But you can trust we will not let this stand, that we will be heard, and we will get the rights we deserve. #RoeVsWade

Just spoke to a teacher of mine from high school. She said, “First we cry. Then we fight.”

I’m absolutely terrified that this is where we are – that after so many decades of people fighting for women’s rights to their own bodies, today’s decision has stripped us of that. https://t.co/mwK561oxxl

Banning abortion will disproportionately impact people of color, LGBTQ+ communities, people struggling to make ends meet, young people, and those living in rural areas.

Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy posted a video and captioned it, “Emergency Press Conference – We Are Going Backwards (avoid if you don’t wanna hear me talking politics).”

There were a handful of celebrities, however, who celebrated the move by the court.
