Popular “America’s Got Talent” contestant Jane Marczewski, known as “Nightbirde” on the show, has passed away at the age of 31 several years after being diagnosed with cancer.

Marczewski died on February 19, according to a statement from her family.

“We, her family, are devastated by her passing and unimaginable loss,” they wrote in a statement to “Today.”

“Those who knew her enjoyed her larger-than-life personality and sense of humor. She had a witty joke for every occasion — even if the joke was on her. Her lasting legacy will be the gift of hope she gave to so many through her music and the strength she found in Jesus,” the statement concluded. We thank everyone for their messages of love and support,” the statement added.

Marczewksi was known for winning the Golden Buzzer during the 2021 season of “America’s Got Talent.” She was later forced to drop out of the show due to health concerns.

“Last time I checked, I had some cancer in my lungs, my spine and my liver,” she told the audience in the video. “It’s important that everyone knows I’m so much more than the bad things that happened to me.”

Her song “It’s OK” brought many in the audience to tears, including the judges, who celebrated her performance.

Marczewski’s cancer did not stop her from releasing a new song to end 2021 before her death. Her “New Year’s Eve The Remix” single was a top single on the iTunes pop charts to finish the year.

As of December 6, 2021, she was able to thank fans for more than 8.7 million streams of her music on Spotify.

Tributes across social media continue to celebrate the inspirational artist’s life.

“@_nightbirde was such a bright inspirational light in all our lives.we must continue to live and learn from her words and lyrics. As much as I feel horribly about her passing I feel lucky to to have met, heard and known her,” Howie Mandel, judge for “America’s Got Talent,” shared on Twitter.

“We are saddened to learn about @_nightbirde’s Passing. Our Condolences goes to her Closest Family & Friends in such of This difficult time. We Love you, Nightbirde,” Terry Crews, host of “America’s Got Talent, shared on Instagram Monday.

Fellow judge Heidi Klum shared on her Instagram Story,”We love you. Rest in peace @nightbirde.”

“Your voice, your story, and your message touched millions. Nightbirde will always be a member of the AGT family. Rest In Peace, Jane,” the “America’s Got Talent” Twitter account said.

In one of her last posts, Marczewski shared her inspiration and thanks to all who had joined in her journey.

“I believe my story is far from over, and I just need a little more to get through to the other side. I love you, and thank you for being heroes in my story,” she wrote.
