<p>Americans are strongly supportive of President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to enact a mass deportation program upon taking office, a recent poll found.</p>
<p>The poll of 2,232 adults, <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/796265728/cbsnews-20241124-SUN#fullscreen&amp;from_embed">conducted</a> by YouGov on behalf of CBS News following the presidential election, found that 45 percent of respondents said that Trump’s effort to “deport immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally” should be “high priority.” Another 28 percent said that it should be “medium priority,&#8221; while just 27 percent said it should not be a priority.</p>
<p>A majority of respondents said that they would approve of Donald Trump “starting a national program to find and deport all immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally.” A full 57 percent said that they would approve of such a plan.</p>
<p>Trump made mass deportations one of his key campaign promises, pledging to “launch the largest deportation program in American history.” Trump has since <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trumps-border-czar-has-a-plan-to-stop-illegal-immigration">announced</a> that former Acting Director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan will serve as his border czar and be in charge of the deportation agenda.</p>
<p>A full 74 percent of white respondents said that deportations should be a high or medium priority of the Trump administration, while 70 percent of black respondents and 69 percent of Hispanic respondents agreed, displaying broad support for the initiative.</p>
<p>The results mimic the findings of an earlier post-election poll <a href="https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/biden_administration/voters_expect_trump_to_keep_his_word_on_deportations">from Rasmussen</a>, which found 64 percent of American voters approve of the president-elect’s plan to “launch the largest deportation program in American history.”</p>
<p>The poll results come as Democrat lawmakers have already come out and indicated that they will not assist attempts by federal law enforcement to enforce immigration law and deport illegal aliens.</p>

<p>In Colorado, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston, a Democrat, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illegal-alien-charged-with-raping-14-year-old-girl-in-denver-as-mayor-opposes-deportation-effort">indicated</a> that he may even attempt to use the city’s police to prevent federal law enforcement from entering the city to carry out deportations. His comment came as an illegal alien was arrested after allegedly raping the 14-year-old daughter of his boss. The 20-year-old illegal alien and Venezuelan national is believed to have illegally entered the United States under the Biden-Harris administration.</p>
<p>Massachusetts Governor Maura Healy, a Democrat, similarly said that she would <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dem-gov-refuses-to-help-deportations-as-ice-busts-alleged-illegal-alien-child-rapists-in-her-state">refuse</a> to allow state police to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement operations. Federal agents based in Boston arrested three illegal aliens who have each been charged with or convicted of raping children.</p>
