On Wednesday, in the wake of Tuesday’s verdict in the trial of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in the death of George Floyd, U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland announced he was targeting the Minneapolis police force with an investigation.

Garland’s announcement came after President Biden phoned the family of George Floyd on Tuesday after the verdict, saying, “Feeling better now. Nothing is going to make it all better, but at least now there is some justice. We’re going to start to change now. We’re going to start to change now. … We’re going to get a lot more done.”
