Actress Jennifer Coolidge credited her appearance in the comedy “American Pie” with landing “like 200” sexual partners, calling it one of the many benefits she got from scoring that role.
During the 60-year-old star’s recent interview with Variety magazine, the performer talked about everything from how her current role on HBO’s “The White Lotus” led to her first Emmy nomination to how her career and sex life took off after she appeared in the raunchy 1999 comedy, ending a career dry spell.
“Ten years of my life of auditioning,” Coolidge explained. “None of it added up to a job. The fear is gone when you’re so used to losing. There’s some freedom in that.”
Later, the outlet shared a clip on Twitter of a Q&A with the actress from the interview in which she talked about the “sexual action” she got after her “American Pie” role.

“You know, I got a lot of play at being a MILF and I got a lot of sexual action from ‘American Pie,’” the “Best in Show” star shared. “Just, you know what I mean, there were so many benefits to doing that movie.”
“I mean, there would be like 200 people that I would never have slept with,” she added, though it is unclear if Coolidge was being literal.
At one point in the interview, the “Legally Blonde” star seemed hesitant to talk about her Emmy nomination in September, when she will be up against four other performers from her HBO show, as well as two from Hulu’s “Dopesick.”
“Maybe I got this special attention because people saw me as Stifler’s mom [American Pie] or the ‘Legally Blonde’ woman,” the actress shared. “So if they see something else…”
“My friends are all surprised that this fluky thing happened,” the star added. “My life was going a certain way for a very long time. I’m afraid if I analyze it too much, I’ll ruin it.”
The magazine noted that Coolidge and the crew were currently filming the second season of “The White Lotus” on the coast of Sicily, and that it will premiere in October.
