Women's Site Refinery29 Lambasts Leftists For 'Slut-Shaming' Melania Trump

"She's been called a gold-digger, a hooker, a slut, the least classy first lady, and so on"

The feminist watering hole of Refinery29 has come to the defense of First Lady Melania Trump, demanding their fellow lefties quit "slut-shaming" the woman.

Over the weekend, the first lady's communications director, Stephanie Grisham, blasted rapper T.I. for making a music video in which Melania Trump was depicted as a stripper in the White House; Grisham even a called for a boycott.

"The artist meant the video to be a dig at President Donald Trump, writing 'Dear 45, I ain’t Kanye' in reference to the president's budding bromance with Kanye West," reports R29.

The video featured a Melania look-alike named Melanie Marden dancing naked on top of President Trump's desk in the oval office after stripping off her infamous "I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?" jacket. Refinery29 took this as a cheap shot from T.I. and lamented the many times liberals that have unfairly attacked the first lady.

We have to wonder if this is the best T.I. can do.

As soon as her husband announced his presidential bid, everything from Melania's past career as a model to her motherhood skills and her accent has been dissected and mocked. In the middle of the presidential campaign, the New York Post published a series of nude photos she took while she modeled in the 1990s. She's been called a gold-digger, a hooker, a slut, the least classy first lady, and so on.

It's the same line of sexist attacks branded against other women in Trump's orbit, who have been accused of sleeping with him in order to advance their careers, or like the incest jokes made about Ivanka Trump.

Refinery29 goes as far as to call their side hypocrites for having a zero tolerance policy if these types of attacks were directed at Michelle Obama.

"If the racist and sexist attacks against former first lady Michelle Obama were considered unacceptable by liberals, the same rule should apply to Melania Trump," says the article.

While Refinery29 considers themselves no fan of Melania Trump's ideas, they advise their fellow liberals to criticize her strictly for ideas, not "slut-shame" her.

"Always falling back to mocking her career as a model or the sexbot jokes is tired," they conclude. "These are lazy and boring tropes that are not even smart enough to qualify as satire, so it's time to stop deploying them."
