Feminist celebrities have released yet another one of those videos in which they speak in succession to finish each other's sentences over a series of cuts. From Julianne Moore to Gabrielle Union to America Ferrera, the women all expressed support for Brett Kavanaugh's accuser Christine Blasey Ford over her allegation that the SCOTUS nominee sexually assaulted her at a pool party 35 years ago.
Produced by the progressive group MoveOn, the video features "women from all walks of life" with a few celebrities spliced in to add a little zest.
"Dear Professor Ford, we know how difficult it is to stand up to powerful people. We want to thank you for publicly sharing your story of sexual violence," the women say in the video, adding that Kavanaugh's accusation of sexual assault provides "critical context" to his nomination.
All the women in the video take Blasey Ford's testimony at face value and "applaud" her courage.
"The behavior you described was wrong and runs directly counter to upholding the law and promoting justice. He should not be confirmed," they continue. "We applaud your courage in coming forward for the public good and we will be with you as you face the inevitable backlash. You are strong. And you are not alone."
The women conclude their video by expressing solidarity with Blasey Ford to the point of calling her a "sister" in the cause.
"You are a survivor and millions of us have your back. You and your testimony are credible," they say. "We believe you. Signed, Your Sisters."
