Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez walked off a stage in Hawaii after speaking at a rally for a candidate that she was there to endorse and completely forgot to introduce him to the audience.
Ocasio-Cortez, 28, has only been in the national spotlight for several weeks after upsetting an incumbent Democrat in New York's 14th Congressional District, but has quickly managed to be a national embarrassment for the Democratic party.
At the event for Hawaii State Rep. Kaniela Ing, Ocasio-Cortez claimed that her own life was shaped by "runaway income inequality, an unaddressed history of imperialism, and poverty."
Previously, Ocasio-Cortez was caught lying about her childhood upbringing after she claimed to have a rough upbringing in the Bronx but was later revealed to have come from Westchester, an affluent suburb.
After walking off stage, Ocasio-Cortez ran back to the podium trying to downplay her absent-minded mistake, saying, "And with that! And with that! I want to introduce to you my brother in the struggle, our brother in the struggle, but our champion for that vision who will fight for that two days from now but also who will fight for it in the decades to come, Kaniela Ing."
