On Monday, police in Austin, Texas responded to a bombing in the early morning hours in a residential neighborhood in the northwest area of the city before being called to another explosion at a home in Southeast Austin.
If this new explosion also turns out to be a bombing, then that will be the third such attack in Austin this month; the first occurred on March 2; 39-year-old Anthony Stephan House was killed when a package exploded at his home.
The second bombing happened this morning and resulted in the death of a male teenager and serious injuries to a woman who was transported to a hospital.
Interim Austin Police Chief Brian Manley told reporters that the first two bombings are likely connected, saying, "There are similarities; we believe these cases are linked at this time."
