'60 Minutes' Interviews Trump-Suing Porn Star

CNN cheers the "big scoop for Cooper and '60 Minutes.'"

CNN's Anderson Cooper landed what his network is cheering as a "big scoop for Cooper and '60 Minutes'": an interview with porn star Stormy Daniels (real name Stephanie Clifford), who filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against President Trump and his legal team for attempting to "intimidate" and "shut her up" through a "bogus arbitration hearing."

Though the adult film star signed a non-disclosure agreement in 2016 worth $130,000, requiring that she not speak publicly about an alleged sexual relationship with Trump years ago, she now claims that the NDA is invalid because Trump didn't personally sign it. A restraining order filed by Trump's lawyer on February 27, says Daniels, is an unfair attempt to "intimidate" her, but Trump's legal team points out that the NDA she signed specifies that such actions could be taken.

For months, Daniels has been teasing outlets about revealing more of the steamy details of the alleged affair, only to repeat her public denial. Just hours before a much-hyped interview with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel in January, Daniels dashed the host's hopes for a big reveal by reiterating her denial of the alleged affair.

"Over the past few weeks I have been asked countless times to comment on reports of an alleged sexual relationship I had with Donald Trump many, many, many years ago," Daniels said in a statement. "The fact of the matter is that each party to this alleged affair denied its existence in 2006, 2011, 2016, 2017 and now again in 2018. I am not denying the affair because I was paid ‘hush money’ as has been reported in overseas owned tabloids. I am denying this affair because it never happened."

But the dueling legal threats have given outlets a new rationale for bringing on the now Trump-suing adult film actress. After all, as CNN puts it, "The President and the Porn Star" has a certain ring to it. Here's CNN's coverage of Cooper's "big scoop":

Anderson Cooper has taped an interview with Stephanie Clifford, the adult film actress known as Stormy Daniels who alleged a sexual relationship with Donald Trump and is now suing the president.

The interview will air on the CBS newsmagazine "60 Minutes," where Cooper is a regular contributor.

But the exact air date is unknown. A source involved in the taping said it will air "on a future episode." A "60 Minutes" spokesman declined to comment.

And here's a shot of Cooper, Daniels and her attorney Michael Avenatti:
