IRELAND: Feminists Hijack Advent To Promote Grotesque Abortion Message

#AdventforChoice

A pro-abortion group in Ireland has taken the Left's "War on Christmas" to a whole new level by hijacking the season of Advent to promote their deathly institution. The takeaway from their #AdventforChoice promo: the Virgin Mary should have had an abortion.

Launched by Parents4Choice, the promo seeks to bolster support for an ongoing effort to repeal Ireland's constitutional amendment that bans abortion. Not without irony, the four-week campaign coincides with what is known in Christian tradition as Advent, the preparation for the birth of Jesus Christ, which is then followed by the Feast of the Holy Innocents on December 28, commemorating King Herod's slaughtering of children.

"Today, on the 1st December, we begin our Advent for Choice Calendar,” the group announced on social media as Advent kicked off. “Here you will meet some of the wonderful pro-choice parents that make up Parents for Choice in Pregnancy and Childbirth. We will be sharing a photo every day for the next 24 days, along with a few words about our journeys and why we are pro-choice. Keep an eye out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and please share!”

One promo in particular features an abortion story about a 14-year-old girl, allegedly the same age as the Virgin Mary at the time of Christ's birth:

While abortion zealots have praised #AdventforChoice, others on social media denounced the campaign.

The thought that the campaign was vulgar wasn’t limited to people on the pro-life side of the issue.

“To usurp Advent to further a murderous despicable cause in the name of choice is beyond utter contempt,” a Twitter user said. “SHAME ON YOU.”

“Just when you think they can't sink any lower,” said another. “You probably would have encouraged Mary to abort.”

On abortion, the Irish Constitution currently reads: “The State acknowledges the right to life of the unborn and, with due regard to the equal right to life of the mother, guarantees in its laws to respect, and, as far as practicable, by its laws to defend and vindicate that right.”
