Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi lost it on Monday night when talking about the Republican tax reform bill, saying that it literally is "the end of the world" and the U.S. has now reached "Armageddon."
Pelosi’s blistering remarks came in response to being asked if the Democrats were trying to make the bill seem as bad as they are because "many people are getting a very modest tax cut … and it’s not the end of the world?"
"No, it is the end of the world," Pelosi replied frantically. "The debate on health care is life, death. This is Armageddon. This is a very big deal, because you know why? There's really a very hard way to come back from this."
Pelosi then spoke about the supposedly grave consequences that tax reform will have on the national debt — completely ignoring the fact that Barack Obama nearly doubled the national debt from $10,626,877,048,913.08 on 01/20/2009 to $19,947,304,555,212.49 on 01/20/2017.
"They take us further, more deeply into debt. What can you do but raise taxes?" Pelosi continued. "They throw a few crumbs to the middle class. What they give with one hand they take away in bounty with the other."
Pelosi continued her awkward rant by saying it’s because of the Republican’s DNA that they come to Congress looking to give tax cuts to hard-working Americans.
