Transgender actress Jen Richards is slamming a new activist Hollywood film for its depiction of transgender individuals.
Richards claims that (s)he auditioned for the film entitled Anything but the part was given to non-transgender actor Matt Bomer.
The film’s executive producer is Mark Ruffalo, an extreme Hollywood leftist known for his ardent support for loony socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Ruffalo defended his preachy film last August when confronted with a fair share of criticism from the “trans community.”
“To the trans community. I hear you. It's wrenching to you see you in this pain. I am glad we are having this conversation. It's time," he said on Twitter. "The movie is already shot and Matt poured his heart and soul into this part. Please have a little compassion. We are all learning."
Rufallo’s pseudo-apology predates singer Katy Perry’s sit-down discussion about how she was “learning” not to culturally appropriate. Both leftist celebrities appear to be “learning” to abide by the Social Justice Warrior gospel of identity politics.
But for Richards, Ruffalo’s apology was not enough.
Here’s what (s)he said on Wednesday regarding the new flick:
The whole exercise presupposes trans women are just men with good hair & makeup. There's no movie here if you know trans women are women.— Jen Richards (@SmartAssJen) June 14, 2017
As Richards' remarks show, the film has been heavily criticized by the political Left for its supposedly offensive depiction of transgender people.
“Actor Matt Bomer plays Freda Von Rhenburg in Anything, a movie about a prostitute who forms a relationship with a straight man,” reports BBC Newsbeat. “It been criticised for its casting and showing trans people as sex workers.”
For Ruffalo, the executive producer of the film, the chickens have come home to roost. Ruffalo, who recently distributed a petition calling for cable news networks not to hire “white conservatives,” is getting a taste of his own medicine.
We must say, it’s always a pleasure watching the Left eat its own.
