Actress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/zoe-kravitz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Zoe Kravitz</a> admitted it&#8217;s a &#8220;scary time to have an opinion&#8221; or to make &#8220;controversial&#8221; &#8220;thoughts or anything&#8221; after she faced a backlash for how she responded to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/will-smith" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Will Smith&#8217;s</a> 2022 Oscars slap of Chris Rock.
During the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/zoe-kravitz">33-year-old</a> actress’ interview for <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/zoe-kravitz-director-debut-pussy-island-naomi-ackie-channing-tatum-11660652570">WSJ Magazine</a>, she was asked about her since-deleted Instagram posts, one of which was reportedly captioned with a remark about attending the Academy Awards &#8220;where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now,&#8221; without specifically naming <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/will-smith">Smith</a>. The comments were noted by <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/zoe-kravitz-reaction-will-smith-oscars-slap-1235200247/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Hollywood Reporter</a>.
&#8220;It&#8217;s a scary time to have an opinion or to say the wrong thing or to make controversial art or statements or thoughts or anything,&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/zoe-kravitz-backtracks-after-claiming-she-was-told-she-was-too-urban-for-2012-batman-role">Kravitz</a> explained. &#8220;It&#8217;s mostly scary because art is about conversation.&#8221;

One of her deleted posts reportedly showed the actress on the red carpet. She captioned it, &#8220;Here’s a picture of my dress at the award show where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now,&#8221; THR noted.
A second one showed a shot of her after the ceremony with a caption that read, &#8220;And here is a picture of my dress at the party after the award show -where we are apparently screaming profanities and assaulting people on stage now.&#8221; Kravitz reportedly was criticized by the &#8220;Men In Black&#8221; star&#8217;s supporters and she later deleted the posts.
&#8220;The Batman&#8221; star talked about how she&#8217;s an &#8220;artist,&#8221; and being an artist &#8220;is not about everybody loving you or everyone thinking you&#8217;re hot.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s about expressing something that will hopefully spark a conversation or inspire people or make them feel seen,&#8221; Kravitz shared. &#8220;I think I&#8217;m in a place right now where I don&#8217;t want to express myself through a caption or a tweet. I want to express myself through art.&#8221;
The &#8220;Divergent&#8221; star admitted she&#8217;s &#8220;torn about what to say&#8221; regarding her posts referencing the &#8220;King Richard&#8221; star slapping the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/words-hurt-comedian-chris-rock-references-will-smith-oscars-slap-in-new-comedy-tour-report">comedian,</a> stating that she has &#8220;very complicated feelings around it.&#8221;

Like so many other celebrities, Zoe Kravitz decided to weigh in on who was right and who was wrong during the altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards. The 33-year-old star, however, likely didn’t expect Twitter to turn on her, accusing her of inappropriate behavior toward Will Smith’s son Jaden when he was a teen.
It all started when Kravitz captioned an Instagram picture of her awards dress saying, “Here&#8217;s my dress at the show where we are apparently assaulting people on stage now.”
In a second picture, the “Big Little Lies” alum doubled down by saying, &#8220;and here is a picture of my dress at the party after the award show -where we are apparently screaming profanities and assaulting people on stage now.&#8221;
Instead of agreeing with her take, followers were quick to slam Kravitz for comments she made about Jaden when he was 14 and she was 24. They brought up the 2013 interview in V Magazine in which Kravitz was discussing her thoughts on co-starring alongside the teen in the drama “After Earth.”
“There were moments that I was hanging out with Jaden and thinking, I can&#8217;t believe you&#8217;re 14, I have to check myself, like what I say to you,” Kravitz said at the time.
“He has so much personality and so much swag, he is so much cooler than I am. And he&#8217;s so handsome, I was always like, when you&#8217;re older, you know, we&#8217;ll hang out…Nope, that&#8217;s inappropriate, you&#8217;re 14.”
These comments were enough for Twitter users to slam Kravitz as a “hypocrite” who had no right to disparage Will Smith’s slap. It was all surprising considering that the celeb made her comments on Instagram and doesn’t even have a Twitter account.
“I love Twitter for exposing these f-ing hypocrites like Jim Carret [sic], Judd Apatow, Zoe Kravitz,” one person shared, according to <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-10667817/Zoe-Kravitz-trending-slamming-Smiths-attack-Chris-Rock.html">Daily Mail</a>. “They want to judge Will Smith (a man who&#8217;s been a class act for 30 years) for one mistake, as if they haven&#8217;t done worse. Get them all.&#8221;
“Zoe Kravitz is also not having a good day. They really should just not even comment. Nobody is perfect. Did they really think their own dirt wouldn&#8217;t be brought out too?” someone else chimed in.
A clip of Kravitz saying she brought Jaden Smith as a date to a movie premiere in 2014 also started getting passed around, racking up more than 850,000 views on Twitter, Newsweek <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/zoe-kravitz-backlash-will-smith-remarks-jaden-twitter-1693242">reported</a>.
The Extra TV clip features Kravitz telling a reporter of Jaden: &#8220;I dragged him out tonight. This is my date.&#8221;
The backlash was enough to get Zoe Kravitz&#8217;s name trending on Twitter on Wednesday with most of the reactions being negative.
A viral tweet with more than 133,000 likes summed up the situation, saying, “zoe kravitz lost all her twitter hype in just 30 minutes.&#8221;

Zoe Kravitz Gets Dragged On Twitter For Creepy Comments About 14-Year-Old Jaden Smith

Actress Zoë Kravitz expanded her repertoire by landing a role on the highly lauded series “Big Little Lies” on HBO, however, in a new <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2022/mar/06/im-ok-with-not-getting-it-right-every-time-zoe-kravitz-on-growing-up-famous-and-getting-her-claws-into-batman">interview</a> with The Guardian, the 33-year-old star claims she felt “uncomfortable” while filming on location in Monterey, California.
“There were a few moments where I felt a little uncomfortable,” she said, “because it is such a white area.” 
When the interviewer asked Kravitz to elaborate on what that meant, she said, “Just weird racist people in bars and things like that.”
Race has been a constant focus for the star, who is the daughter of actress Lisa Bonet and recording artist Lenny Kravitz. At another point in the interview, she discussed how choosing roles had always been tricky because she didn’t want to be “pigeonholed” into only taking on projects that dealt with race in some capacity.
&#8220;At one point, all the scripts that were being sent were about the first Black woman to make a muffin or something,&#8221; she told The Guardian. &#8220;Even though those stories are important to tell, I also want to open things up for myself as an artist.&#8221; 
This made &#8220;Big Little Lies&#8221; the perfect project because the role of Bonnie Carson was originally written for a white person.
Elsewhere in the same interview, Kravitz said her request to audition for “The Dark Knight Rises” was turned down because she was “too urban.” 
&#8220;I don’t know if it came directly from Chris Nolan. I think it was probably a casting director of some kind, or a casting director’s assistant,&#8221; the actress said.
&#8220;Being a woman of color and being an actor and being told at that time that I wasn’t able to read because of the color of my skin, and the word ‘urban’ being thrown around like that, that was what was really hard about that moment,&#8221; Kravitz continued.
Later, the “Big Little Lies” alum clarified and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/zoe-kravitz-backtracks-after-claiming-she-was-told-she-was-too-urban-for-2012-batman-role">backtracked her comments</a> via social media. Kravitz wrote,  
“I was NOT told I was too urban to play Catwoman in the ‘Dark Knight [Rises]’,” the actress posted to her Instagram stories. “It would have made NO sense for me to even be considered for that role at that time. I wanted to AUDITION for a small part in the film and was told (I do not know who said this but this was how it was worded to me) that they were not going ‘urban’ on the part. This is something I heard a lot 10 years ago — it was a very different time.”
She went on, “I did not mention this to point any fingers or make anyone seem racist, namely Chris Nolan, the film’s producers or anyone on the casting team, because I truly do not believe anyone meant any harm. This was many years ago when words like that were thrown around very casually and although I’m very glad that we are attempting to evolve — let’s all calm down — as well as fact check before we write things that are untrue.”

&#8220;The Batman&#8221; actress Zoë Kravitz is backtracking from comments she made to The Guardian about allegedly being dismissed for a role in &#8220;The Dark Knight Rises&#8221; for being too &#8220;urban,&#8221; which the 33 year old suggested was code for being black.
Here&#8217;s the related conversation Kravitz had with The Guardian, <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2022/mar/06/im-ok-with-not-getting-it-right-every-time-zoe-kravitz-on-growing-up-famous-and-getting-her-claws-into-batman">according</a> to the left-leaning news outlet (emphasis added):

Zoë Kravitz Backtracks After Claiming She Was Told She Was Too ‘Urban’ For 2012 Batman Role

It’s not too shocking when anyone gets divorced in Hollywood, but there are some couples that seem destined to stay together. Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet were one of those couples. That’s why their recent announcement of a split came as such a surprise to so many of their fans.
The couple’s statement on their divorce <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CYprLX4pTdW/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=eb54297b-9d99-4b4b-ba68-00850ab127df">read</a>: “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding – and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring. And so, we share our family news, that we are parting ways in marriage.”
The statement continued, &#8220;We share this not because we think it’s newsworthy, But so that~ as we go about our lives we may do so with dignity and honesty. The love between us carries on, evolving in ways it wishes to be known and lived.&#8221;
&#8220;We free each other ~to be who we are learning to become…Our devotion unwavering to this sacred life &amp; our Children.&#8221;
Momoa, 42, and Bonet, 54, began dating in 2005 and wed in secret in 2017. The couple shares two children – daughter Lola and son Nakoa-Wolf – together. Bonet also has another daughter Zoë Kravitz, whom she shares with ex-husband musician Lenny Kravitz. 
Part of the reason some fans believed Momoa and Bonet would last forever is the background of their love story. Momoa admitted he fell in love with his future wife when he saw her on “The Cosby Show.” Much later, they ran into each other at a jazz club and were instantly smitten.
“Listen it was more than [love at first sight],” Momoa <a href="https://ktvz.com/entertainment/cnn-entertainment/2022/01/12/jason-momoa-and-lisa-bonet-announce-split/">said</a> when he was asked about his relationship with Bonet during an appearance on “The Late Late Show with James Corden.”
“Ever since I was 8 years old and I saw her on the TV I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one.’” 
He continued, “I was like, ‘I’m going to stalk you for the rest of my life, and I’m going to get you.’ I’m a full-fledged stalker. But yeah, I’ve just always wanted to meet her. She was a queen, always.”
When they finally met through mutual friends at a jazz club, he shared his reaction when finally meeting Bonet officially. “I turned around to my friend and I was like ‘ahhh!’ I had f***ing fireworks going off inside, man,” Momoa said.
Momoa once told Men’s Health, “I met her over a pint of Guinness. She ordered it. I thought ‘Oh my God, I can’t believe I’m with a woman who ordered a Guinness. I love her.’ When I got to know her, she was the woman of my dreams.”
And Momoa didn’t shy away from over-the-top romantic gestures to make his true feelings known. The “Aquaman” star paid to have Bonet’s 1965 Mustang painstakingly restored and documented the whole process on YouTube in 2020.
The actor wrote in a short Instagram <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CDek6EcD_SR/">clip</a>, “Aloha everyone, this is 14 years in the making. I wanted to surprise my wife with her first car she ever bought and bring it back to life and into our family.”
Previously, Momoa bought Bonet a donkey just because she wanted one. 
“I live up in Topanga, on five acres,” he told <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/19/arts/jason-momoa-braves-new-frontiers.html">The New York Times</a> in 2017. “I go hiking a lot. I’ve got kids, goats. My wife always wanted a donkey, so I bought her one. We walk our donkey, and we’ve got two [dogs] who are half Malamute, half wolf.”
A long infatuation and a few big romantic gestures weren’t enough to save Bonet and Momoa’s marriage, however. The couple says they are committed to raising their children together, but will no longer be continuing their relationship.

After Hulu canceled her show &#8220;High Fidelity&#8221; – a remake of the 2000 John Cusack fan-favorite based on Nick Hornby&#8217;s novel – actress Zoe Kravitz (daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet) ripped the streaming platform for its lack of diversity, especially shows starring women of color.
Upon the show&#8217;s cancelation, actress Tessa Thompson (&#8220;Thor: Ragnarok&#8221;) expressed her dismay, prompting Kravitz to issue a backhanded swipe at the streaming platform.
&#8220;i wanna give a shout out to my <a class=" xil3i" href="https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/highfidelity/">#highfidelity</a> family. thank you for all the love and heart you put into this show. i&#8217;m in awe of all of you. and thank you to everyone who watched, loved and supported us,&#8221; wrote Kravitz wrote in her farewell address.

In the wake of massive Black Lives Matter protests across the nation, Hollywood celebrities have been increasingly demanding that the industry create more opportunities for black actors. Michael B. Jordan, who played Killmonger in Marvel’s “Black Panther,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/black-panther-star-michael-b-jordan-hollywood-must-commit-to-black-hiring">called on Hollywood</a> to “commit to black hiring,” demanding they invest in “black staff” and focus on black stories.
“I want us to invest in black staff,” said Jordan. “I’m proud to have an <a href="https://www.nj.com/entertainment/2018/03/michael_b_jordan_inclusion_rider.html">inclusion rider</a> and all that good stuff and I use my power to demand diversity, but it’s time the studios and agencies — all the agencies, all these buildings that we’re standing in front of &#8230; do the same.”
“You committed to a 50/50 gender parity in 2020, where is the challenge to commit to black hiring?” Jordan added. “Black content led by black executives, black consultants. Are you policing our storytelling as well?”
Going forward, Jordan called on the industry to shine more light on the discrimination that black cultural leaders have faced.
“So let us bring our darkness to the light. Black culture. The sneakers, sports, comedic culture that you guys love so much — we’ve dealt with discrimination at every turn. Can you help fund black brands, companies, cultural leaders, black organizations?” Jordan continued. “A great agent doesn’t have to be a great organizer, but a great agent could advocate for relationships with organizers. Will you support a non-profit that’s working to solve problems of our industry, that our industry created?”
Rapper Ice Cube even went as far as to say that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-ice-cube-says-hollywood-owes-black-people-reparations">Hollywood owes black people</a> reparations for its past participation in America&#8217;s racism.
“Virtually all the studios who contributed in our narrative, in our pain, in our misrepresentation, in stealing our history and giving it to white people for over a 100 years, so I think these studios that we know and love should kick in to a studio that’s ran by black people with no outside influences, and whose movies and projects are owned by those black people,” Ice Cube said on &#8220;The Breakfast Club.&#8221;
Ice Cube said that Hollywood should give more ownership to black directors and writers who put their own projects together.
“Those black artists, those black directors and writers, and people who put the projects together should own the projects – and these studios, they can license the projects, the movies, or the TV shows or whatever, or they don’t have to,” he said. “We can put them on our own streaming services. I just think it’s a form of reparations from the entertainment industry if they all had to invest a certain amount of money into the studio each year as payment for all the damage they’ve done to black people.”
