The 2023 Venice International Film Festival kicked off this week with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/priscilla-presley-contests-amendment-to-late-daughters-will-lisa-marie-reportedly-cut-her-out" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Priscilla Presley</a> and Leonard Bernstein biographical films along with new movies from 87-year-old director <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/woody-allen">Woody Allen</a>, admitted child rapist Roman Polanski, and more.
Presley biopic &#8220;Priscilla,&#8221; being directed by Sofia Coppola, and Bernstein&#8217;s bio &#8220;Maestro,&#8221; coming from director Bradley Cooper, are just two of the highly-anticipated movies to be premiered at the 80th annual gathering that began August 30 and includes 23 feature films in competition, WWD <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/venice-film-festival-2023-what-know-about-schedule-premieres-jury-and-red-carpet/ar-AA1fzuXZ">reported</a>.
Coppola&#8217;s &#8220;Priscilla&#8221; tells the story of Presley&#8217;s romance with the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, from her point of view based on Priscilla&#8217;s 1985 book &#8220;Elvis and Me.&#8221;
The filmmaker said she was drawn to adapt the memoir into a film as the daughter of famed filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/priscilla-film-priscilla-presley-sofia-coppola-movie-elvis-1235572034/">The Hollywood Reporter</a> noted.

<a href="https://www.vulture.com/article/venice-film-festival-2023-lineup.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Allen&#8217;s</a> first French film &#8220;Coup de Chance&#8221; will premiere this year following his last film to open at an <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/07/2023-venice-debate-roman-polansk-woody-allen-1235447302/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A-list festival</a> in 2016. His filmmaker status in recent years has changed following repeated sexual assault allegations by adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow, <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/07/2023-venice-debate-roman-polansk-woody-allen-1235447302/">Deadline</a> noted. Allen has emphatically denied the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/woody-allen-defends-himself-against-sex-abuse-paul-bois">accusations.</a> The filmmaker is expected to <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/07/2023-venice-debate-roman-polansk-woody-allen-1235447302/">attend</a> the event in person.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/child-rapist-roman-polanski-wins-venice-film-paul-bois" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Polanski&#8217;s</a> &#8220;The Palace&#8221; premieres this year and it will be the first time one of his movies has been shown at the festival since 2019, <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2023/07/25/venice-international-film-festival-2023-lineup/70461432007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">USA Today</a> noted. The 90-year-old disgraced filmmaker will reportedly <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/07/2023-venice-debate-roman-polansk-woody-allen-1235447302/">not make the trip</a>. Polanski previously admitted to sexually abusing 13-year-old Samantha Geimer before fleeing to Europe in the late ’70s. He drugged and sodomized her during a photoshoot at Jack Nicholson&#8217;s house in 1977,&#8221; per <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kate-winslet-what-the-fk-was-i-doing-working-with-woody-allen-and-roman-polanski">The Daily Wire</a>. French film director Luc Besson will attend the festival where he will premiere his film, &#8220;Dogman&#8221; starring Caleb Landry Jones. Besson was recently cleared of charges in a rape case after Belgian-Dutch<a href="https://deadline.com/2023/07/2023-venice-debate-roman-polansk-woody-allen-1235447302/"> actress</a> Sand Van Roy accused him of assault in 2018. He <a href="https://people.com/director-luc-besson-cleared-of-rape-charges-in-france-7550964" target="_blank" rel="noopener">denied</a> the accusation at the time, calling it a &#8220;complete and utter lie,&#8221; and said &#8220;I have never raped a woman in my life,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-49973547" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BBC</a> News noted. It will be the first film he&#8217;s directed since his 2019 movie &#8220;Anna.&#8221;
Due to the ongoing Hollywood strike of the Screen Actors Guild and America&#8217;s Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) an absence of many stars on the red carpet and at the premieres will be noticeable, <a href="https://collider.com/venice-film-festival-2023-lineup/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Collider</a> noted, since the strike prevents the stars from promoting movies.
In order for Presley to promote her film, &#8220;Priscilla&#8221; secured a SAG-AFTRA Interim Agreement which allows cast members, which includes Jacob Elordi playing Elvis and Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla Beaulieu Presley, to do press and appear at the annual festival, <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/priscilla-gets-sag-aftra-interim-agreement-ahead-of-venice-film-festival-world-premiere/ar-AA1fDbMV" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a> noted. The main reason for the agreement was that the movie was shot in Canada under the production company TCB Productions Canada, the outlet noted.
&#8220;There&#8217;s multiple national laws that apply to exactly how we address striking that production … That&#8217;s one of the things we consider in the process of determining whether we grant an interim agreement,&#8221; SAG-AFTRA National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland told the outlet.
&#8220;Priscilla&#8221; wasn&#8217;t the only film to secure an agreement with SAG-AFTRA amid the strike, <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/global/venice-oscar-hopefuls-stars-italian-politics-1235706057/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety</a> has confirmed that Adam Driver of &#8220;Ferrari&#8221; will be at the premiere, however it is unclear, at the time of this publication, if his co-stars Cruz and Shailene Woodley are part of the agreement.
The casts for Cooper&#8217;s &#8220;Maestro,&#8221; Yorgos Lanthimos&#8217;s &#8220;Poor Things&#8221; with Emma Stone and Mark Ruffalo, and David Fincher’s psychological thriller &#8220;The Killers&#8221; aren&#8217;t expected to be in attendance, including celebrities like Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton, the outlet noted.
&#8220;DogMan&#8221; also got an interim agreement allowing the cast to promote the film because it was independently financed, <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/08/luc-bessons-dogman-interim-agreement-venice-film-festival-1235453391/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a> noted. 
Many of the directors for those movies such as Fincher, Coppola, Mann, and Lanthimos are expected to attend. Cooper is not expected to be at the festival, <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/global/venice-oscar-hopefuls-stars-italian-politics-1235706057/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety</a> noted. It kicks off August 30 and runs through September 9.

Social media is tearing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/alec-baldwin">Alec Baldwin</a> apart for his strange interview with reclusive <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a> director <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/woody-allen">Woody Allen</a>.
The actor is being mocked for the train-wreck interaction, which included him yelling at someone in what native speakers claim was unintelligible Spanish and multiple instances of a poor connection with the Wi-Fi, <a href="https://pagesix.com/2022/06/28/alec-baldwin-slammed-for-woody-allen-interview-after-rust/">according</a> to Page Six.
The screen froze just before the “30 Rock” actor was heard yelling at someone off-screen in Spanish, which was loosely translated to him asking for help to make the dogs stop barking.
“Leonetta! Leonetta! Basta! Las perritas! Basta! Las perritas, suficiente!” Baldwin shouted, <a href="https://money.yahoo.com/alec-baldwin-shouts-barking-dogs-063738638.html">reported</a> Yahoo Money, which reportedly translates to “Leonetta! Leonetta! Enough! The dogs! Enough. The dogs. That’s enough!”
“Inexplicably interviewing Woody Allen on Instagram Live, watching as Woody loses Wi-Fi, and then getting up to yell something in Spanish that I a native Spanish speaker can’t understand has surpassed Schweddy Balls as the new funniest thing Alec Baldwin has ever done. God tier,” comedy writer Alexis Pereira <a href="https://twitter.com/MrAlexisPereira/status/1541840326616391680">tweeted</a>.
“I was morbidly curious about this, so I put it on in time to see Alec Baldwin yelling at his housekeeper in Spanish to fix Woody Allen’s wi-fi connection,” journalist Matt Jacobs <a href="https://twitter.com/tarantallegra/status/1541799635597099009?s=21&amp;t=WnGzPWvArcfI8iHHDg6x-Qp">wrote</a>.
“Why is this interview happening, and why is Alec wearing a visor for it,” Laura Bassett <a href="https://twitter.com/LEBassett/status/1541796465907040256">shared</a>.

The interview was controversial even before it aired, in part because of Baldwin’s current status in the Hollywood community following <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/baldwin-on-if-he-feels-guilt-for-killing-halyna-hutchins-no-someone-is-responsible-its-not-me">the death</a> of Halyna Hutchinson on the set of the movie “Rust.” He prepared for the backlash by posting about how he didn’t care what people thought. He also disabled commenting during the interview.

Besides the technical difficulties, the interview included Allen saying he was considering retiring from his decades-long Hollywood career, NME <a href="https://www.nme.com/news/film/woody-allen-next-film-may-be-his-last-3258499">reported</a>. “A lot of the thrill is gone,” the Oscar winner said. “It’s not the same. It’s not as enjoyable to me.”

Actor Alec Baldwin has announced that he will interview film director Woody Allen, who has all but disappeared from public view after the release last year of an HBO docuseries examining allegations from his adopted daughter that he sexually abused her when she was a child.
&#8220;Let me preface this by stating that I have ZERO INTEREST in anyone’s judgments and sanctimonious posts here,&#8221; Baldwin said Sunday in a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CfSM-2FPqaM/?hl=en">video announcement</a> on his Instagram account. &#8220;I am OBVIOUSLY someone who has my own set of beliefs and COULD NOT CARE LESS about anyone else’s speculation. If you believe that a trial should be conducted by way of an HBO documentary, that’s your issue.&#8221;
“I love you, Woody,” Baldwin said in the video post in which he announced the interview would take place on Instagram Live. “Instagram, I’m with Woody, Tuesday, 10:30. Be there.”
The interview comes after the 2021 release of the docuseries “Allen v. Farrow,” in which his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, and Dylan&#8217;s mother, Mia Farrow, elaborated on the sex abuse allegations they first cast in 1992.
&#8220;&#8216;Allen v. Farrow&#8217; included a never-before-seen home video of 7-year-old Farrow talking about the alleged assault shortly after she claims it occurred,&#8221; Variety <a href="https://variety.com/2022/film/news/alec-baldwin-woody-allen-interview-1235303823/">reported</a>. &#8220;During the #MeToo movement, his 2019 film &#8216;A Rainy Day in New York&#8217; was dropped by Amazon Studios and Hachette Book Group refused to publish his memoir. Allen denies the allegations, and called them &#8216;untrue and disgraceful&#8217; in a statement following the release of the docuseries.&#8221;
During Allen’s messy divorce from actress Mia Farrow, Dylan alleged that she was abused. While Allen was never criminally charged, presiding Justice Elliott Wilk <a href="https://www.sdnyblog.com/files/2014/02/Allen-v.-Farrow-Custody-Ruling.pdf">wrote</a> about the case that “credible testimony … prove[s] that Mr. Allen&#8217;s behavior toward Dylan was grossly inappropriate and that measures must be taken to protect her.”
After Allen, now 86, dated Farrow for a decade, the actress <a href="https://pagesix.com/2021/02/22/mia-farrow-found-nude-photos-of-soon-yi-at-woody-allens-home/">found</a> nude pictures of her 21-year-old adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, taken by Allen. The couple split, and Previn, 51, and Allen are now married.
In 2017, when film producer Harvey Weinstein was accused by numerous women of rape and sexual assault, Allen came to his defense, saying he was “sad” for Weinstein.
“The whole Harvey Weinstein thing is very sad for everybody involved,” he added. “Tragic for the poor women that were involved, sad for Harvey that [his] life is so messed up,” Allen said, <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41626750">according</a> to the BBC.

Actress Drew Barrymore now says she regrets working with director Woody Allen when she starred in the 1996 romantic comedy &#8220;Everyone Says I Love You.&#8221;
During an episode of her talk show, Barrymore interviewed Woody Allen&#8217;s adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, who claimed that Allen molested her in 1993. Farrow maintains that her former step-father &#8220;groomed her&#8221; and then abused her while he was married to actress Mia Farrow. Allen denies the allegations.
At the time Barrymore starred in the romantic comedy, she said the great career &#8220;calling card&#8221; in the mid-1990s was to have made a film with Woody Allen.
“I worked with Woody Allen. I did a film with him in 1996 called, &#8216;Everyone Says I Love You,&#8217; and there was no higher career calling card than to work with Woody Allen,&#8221; Barrymore told Farrow, as reported by<a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/drew-barrymore-dylan-farrow-woody-allen-1234954550/"> The Hollywood Reporter</a> (THR). &#8220;Then I had children, and it changed me because I realized that I was one of the people who was basically gaslit into not looking at a narrative beyond what I was being told. And I see what is happening in the industry now and that is because of you making that brave choice. So thank you for that.&#8221;
Farrow thanked Barrymore for her change of heart.
“Hearing what you just said, I am trying not to cry right now,” she said. “It is just so meaningful because it’s easy for me to say, ‘Of course you shouldn’t work with him; he’s a jerk, he’s a monster,’ but I just find it incredibly brave and incredibly generous that you would say to me that my story and what I went through was important enough to you to reconsider that.”
After watching the HBO docuseries, &#8220;Allen v. Farrow,&#8221; which chronicled Woody Allen and Mia Farrow&#8217;s battle over custody of then-adolescent Dylan and explored Dylan&#8217;s allegations of sexual abuse, Dylan Farrow said she discovered a newfound respect for her mother, Mia.
“I would’ve loved to have been able to watch the series with her,” Farrow said. “At the time, that just wasn’t possible; we were in separate quarantine pods, unfortunately. I really heard everything from her after the fact. It was just a very strange pathway that we navigated separately and together, but I think it definitely changed a lot about how me and my mom relate to each other and interact with each other, and I think there’s a very renewed level of just respect, just woman to woman.”

Woody Allen and his wife, Soon-Yi Previn, denounced the HBO docuseries as a &#8220;shoddy hit piece,&#8221; <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2021/02/22/arts/television/woody-allen-soon-yi-previn-hbo.html">according to The New York Times</a>.
&#8220;These documentarians had no interest in the truth. Instead, they spent years surreptitiously collaborating with the Farrows and their enablers to put together a hatchet job riddled with falsehoods,&#8221; a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement issued through Allen&#8217;s sister, Letty Aronson. &#8220;Woody and Soon-Yi were approached less than two months ago and given only a matter of days &#8216;to respond.&#8217; Of course, they declined to do so.&#8221;
&#8220;As has been known for decades, these allegations are categorically false,&#8221; the statement continued. &#8220;Multiple agencies investigated them at the time and found that, whatever Dylan Farrow may have been led to believe, absolutely no abuse had ever taken place. It is sadly unsurprising that the network to air this is HBO – which has a standing production deal and business relationship with Ronan Farrow. Drew Barrymore Says She Now Regrets Working With Woody Allen

On Sunday, Dylan Farrow, 35, the adopted daughter of filmmaker Woody Allen, offered a lengthy statement on Twitter in which she spoke of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/video-shows-dylan-farrow-heard-as-a-child-speaking-of-alleged-abuse-by-woody-allen-report/">video of her as a seven-year-old child</a> speaking of the abuse she says Allen perpetrated upon her, an allegation Allen adamantly denies.
The video was shown as a part of the HBO four-part documentary series “Allen v. Farrow” that premiered Sunday night. In the video, the seven-year-old Dylan is <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9310287/Dylan-Farrow-35-asks-empathy-viewers-watch-never-seen-home-video-her.html">heard</a> saying that Allen told her, “Do not move, I have to do this,” as he touched her private area. Dylan continues, “I didn&#8217;t want him to do it, mama. I didn&#8217;t like it.&#8221;
Speaking as an adult in the documentary, Dylan Farrow stated, “We were in the TV room and he reached behind me and touched my butt and then he told me to come up to the attic with him. I remember laying there on my stomach and my back was to him so i couldn’t see what was going on. I felt trapped. He was saying things like we’re gonna go to Paris together; you’re gonna be in all my movies. Then he sexually assaulted me. I remember just focusing on my brother’s train set and then he just stopped. He was done. And we just went downstairs. I am that little girl on the tape. So… it&#8217;s a very vulnerable part of me, and a very… a very hurt part of me. There&#8217;s a lot of… that little girl is in a lot of pain.”
Farrow wrote on Twitter on Sunday:
<blockquote>I&#8217;m writing this, because to be totally honest I have been losing sleep and overcome with anxiety. Tonight&#8217;s episode of the Allen v. Farrow docuseries features a video of me as a seven-year-old child disclosing my abuse to my mother. My mother gave me this video when I became an adult to do whatever I wanted with it. It shows me as I was then, a young, vulnerable child. &#8220;Little Dylan,&#8221; whom I&#8217;ve tried ever since to protect.
Deciding to allow this tape to be viewed now publicly in this way has not been easy. I myself had resisted ever watching it until now. It had been long stored away in a closet. Scared. Buried. I almost didn&#8217;t offer it to the filmmakers, because being this vulnerable in public is absolutely terrifying for me. My fear in letting this tape come to light is that I am putting Little Dylan in the court of public opinion.
While I have been able to take the stones thrown at me as an adult, to think of that happening to this little girl is stomach-churning. But I decided to let them share it in hopes that Little Dylan&#8217;s voice might now help others suffering in silence feel heard, understood, and less alone. And that my testimony might also help parents, relatives, friends, loved ones and the world in general understand first-hand how an abused child might speak and interpret these horrific events.
There’s a third reason as well. Personally, I had, for decades, pushed “Little Dylan” away as a coping mechanism. So part of my goal in allowing her to now speak is also to try and find some healing for me and my childhood self. It&#8217;s an attempt to make them whole again, and find some peace and closure.
Ever since news of her abuse was inadvertently made public, I, my siblings, and my mother have all been subjected to an endless barrage of vitriolic slander and baseless rebuke; derision so painful that I separated myself from her in self-defense. I hid her away in the closet with the tape too— hidden, afraid, sad and hurt.
If you watch this video, I very much hope that you will do so with empathy, compassion and an open mind and heart and not use this as an opportunity to attack, turn away, criticize, mock; or to further shun “Little Dylan” and in doing so shame and silence the millions of abused children who are suffering in the world today. This is the most vulnerable part of who I am. I hope this tape helps us all find ways to allow painful secrets to come safely out of their closets so we all can heal and move forward in strength and peace. No longer ashamed, buried, scared, sad, and silent.</blockquote>

The imprint behind director Woody Allen’s 2020 memoir is reportedly considering a lawsuit against HBO over its new documentary series, “Allen v. Farrow.&#8221;
The four-part series debuted on Sunday on HBO and reportedly demonstrates the filmmaker&#8217;s years of child abuse. Skyhorse Publishing is claiming that the filmmakers sampled the audio version of Allen&#8217;s book, &#8220;Apropos of Nothing,&#8221; without their permission.
The president of Skyhorse, Tony Lyons, said in a statement on Monday to <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/books/story/2021-02-22/woody-allen-documentary-memoir-lawsuit-skyhorse">the Los Angeles Times</a>, “Neither the producers nor HBO ever approached Skyhorse to request permission to use excerpts from the audiobook.”
Lyons added, “Skyhorse received information second hand only at the very end of last week that each of the documentary’s four episodes makes extensive use of audiobook excerpts &#8230; [W]e believe that its unauthorized use of the audiobook is clear, willful infringement under existing legal precedent, and that the other episodes will infringe, too, if they appropriate the audiobook in a similar manner. &#8230; We will take the legal action we deem necessary to redress our and Woody Allen’s rights in his intellectual property.”
On Monday, the filmmakers who created “Allen v. Farrow” told The Times in a statement via HBO that they “legally used limited audio excerpts from Woody Allen’s memoir in the series under the Fair Use doctrine,” which according to the <a href="https://www.copyright.gov/fair-use/more-info.html">United States Copyright Office,</a> “promotes freedom of expression by permitting the unlicensed use of copyright-protected works in certain circumstances&#8230;&#8221;
The series reportedly depicts Woody Allen sexually abusing his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow.

Allen and Mia Farrow are no longer together, having broken up after she discovered Allen was having an affair with her adopted daughter from a previous marriage, Soon-Yi Previn. Previn was 21 when she was having an affair with Allen, 55.
Soon-Yi Previn and Allen are now married, and released a joint <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/tv/story/2021-02-22/woody-allen-hbo-documentary-response-soon-yi-previn">statement</a> on Sunday, saying:
“These documentarians had no interest in the truth. Instead, they spent years surreptitiously collaborating with the Farrows and their enablers to put together a hatchet job riddled with falsehoods. Woody and Soon-Yi were approached less than two months ago and given only a matter of days ‘to respond.’ Of course, they declined to do so.”
“As has been known for decades, these allegations are categorically false,” the pair continued. “Multiple agencies investigated them at the time and found that, whatever Dylan Farrow may have been led to believe, absolutely no abuse had ever taken place. It is sadly unsurprising that the network to air this is HBO — which has a standing production deal and business relationship with Ronan Farrow. While this shoddy hit piece may gain attention, it does not change the facts.”
In a 2017 op-ed for The Times, Dylan Farrow wrote, “It is a testament to Allen’s public relations team and his lawyers that few know these simple facts. It also speaks to the forces that have historically protected men like Allen: the money and power deployed to make the simple complicated, to massage the story.”
Allen&#8217;s memoir was released in March 2020 and was <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/books/story/2020-03-23/woody-allen-memoir-released">reportedly</a> picked up by Skyhorse after Hachette Book Group canceled its release.
Hachette allegedly decided to cancel Allen&#8217;s book after receiving pressure from Ronan Farrow, investigative journalist and Allen&#8217;s son. In 2019, Hachette published <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/11/books/review-catch-kill-ronan-farrow-harvey-weinstein.html">&#8220;Catch and Kill&#8221;</a> by Ronan Farrow, which details the writer&#8217;s journey of uncovering stories about Harvey Weinstein&#8217;s own decades of sexual abuse.
After securing a critical interview in the Weinstein investigation, Ronan Farrow reportedly solicited advice on how to conduct himself from his adopted sister, Dylan, who had already been accusing Allen of abuse for years.
“Well, this is the worst part,” Dylan told him, according to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/11/books/review-catch-kill-ronan-farrow-harvey-weinstein.html">The New York Times</a>. “The considering. The waiting for the story.” She continued: “If you get this, don’t let it go, O.K.?”

On Sunday night, filmmaker Woody Allen, 85, and his wife, Soon-Yi Previn, 50, released a statement slamming filmmakers who created the new four-part docuseries “Allen v. Farrow,” in which Allen’s adopted daughter Dylan Farrow is reportedly heard as a child speaking of alleged abuse she suffered from Allen. Allen and Previn termed the docuseries a “hatchet job.”
Allen and Previn released <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/woody-allen-soon-yi-previn-respond-to-allen-v-farrow-filmmakers-these-documentarians-had-no-interest-in-the-truth">this statement</a> to The Hollywood Reporter (THR):

After Farrow left Allen, she accused him of sexually assaulting Dylan when she was a child.
“Allen has always strongly maintained his innocence, claiming that Dylan fabricated the allegations of abuse or that she had been coached by Mia who was jealous of his relationship with Soon-Yi Previn,” the Daily Mail noted.
In the documentary, Dylan Farrow states that after her brother Ronan Farrow was born, Allen was “very slowly instilling the idea in my head she [Mia] was more (Ronan&#8217;s) parent, he was more my parent; I was daddy&#8217;s girl,” that she “worshiped” Allen and his humor made her “feel so special,” that Allen was like a “magnet” to her, giving her “intense affection all the time … I was always in his clutches. He was always hunting me.”
“Family members describe how Dylan began locking herself in the bathroom whenever Allen would come over or pretended to be a dead animal so she couldn&#8217;t talk,” the Daily Mail reported.
“I remember sitting on the edge of his bed, light in the room, the satin sheets,&#8221; Dylan Farrow states. &#8220;There were clarinet reeds. I have memories of getting into bed with him. He was in his underwear; I&#8217;m in my underwear cuddling. I remember his breath on me. He would just wrap his body around me, very intimately.&#8221;
&#8220;I would suddenly walk in and there she would be in his bed with him in his underwear,&#8221; Mia Farrow alleges. &#8220;Sometimes he would also kneel in front of her or sit next to her and put his face in her lap which I caught a couple of times and I didn&#8217;t think that was right.”
Dylan Farrow says of another alleged incident, “He touched (my) privates and then he was breathing on my leg. And then, this (where I mean) he squeezed me too hard that I couldn&#8217;t breathe.” Her mother asked, “What do you mean he touched your privates? Where did he touch you?” Dylan Farrow gestured to her buttocks.
Another video features Dylan Farrow speaking of an alleged incident in the attic. She states, “He said: ‘What about some father-daughter time.’ And then I said: ‘Well, okay.’ We went into your (Mia&#8217;s) room and we went into the attic. Then he started telling me weird things. Then he went behind me and touched my privates.”
“Which privates did he touch?” Mia asks.
Her daughter, indicating her private area, answers, “This part.”
In another segment, Mia says, “Do you wanna tell me what things daddy said in the attic when you were in the attic?”
Dylan Farrow: “‘Do not move, I have to do this.’ But I wiggled my bum to see what he was doing. He said: ‘Don&#8217;t move, I have to do this. If you stay still we can go to Paris. … Because this way you could be in my movie, if I do this.’ I didn&#8217;t want him to do it, mama. I didn&#8217;t like it … . I don&#8217;t want to talk about it.’”

She said Dylan was staring off into space and Woody&#8217;s face was in her lap.”
Mia Farrow states, “I remembered she (Dylan) had not had any underpants on (afterwards). She was sitting next to me. I said to her: ‘Did this happen, did daddy have his face in your lap yesterday?’ She said yes.”

The documentary shows a phone call between Allen and Mia Farrow in which she tells him, “She&#8217;s not alright, Woody. She walks around the house holding her vagina. She sleeps with me. She&#8217;s scared of you and you&#8217;ve hurt her. … She said, &#8216;Mommy you didn&#8217;t help. Daddy shouldn&#8217;t have done that. He shouldn&#8217;t have hurt me like that.&#8217; If you heard her you would weep inside and you would just want to be dead because I don&#8217;t know how you can live with what you did.”
In 2014, Ronan Farrow, disgusted that the Golden Globes were honoring Allen, snapped, “Missed the Woody Allen tribute &#8211; did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?”
Moses Farrow, another adopted child in the Farrow family, rejected the claims by Dylan that she had been abused, and accused Mia Farrow of abuse, <a href="http://mosesfarrow.blogspot.com/2018/05/a-son-speaks-out-by-moses-farrow.html">writing</a> in May 2018: “I’m sure my mother had good intentions in adopting children with disabilities from the direst of circumstances, but the reality inside our walls was very different. It pains me to recall instances in which I witnessed siblings, some blind or physically disabled, dragged down a flight of stairs to be thrown into a bedroom or a closet, then having the door locked from the outside. She even shut my brother Thaddeus, paraplegic from polio, in an outdoor shed overnight as punishment for a minor transgression.”
He told <a href="https://people.com/movies/woody-allen-mia-farrow-son-moses-shocking-new-claims/">People Magazine</a>, “My mother drummed it into me to hate my father for tearing apart the family and sexually molesting my sister. And I hated him for her for years. I see now that this was a vengeful way to pay him back for falling in love with Soon-Yi.”

A new four-part HBO documentary will explore the sexual abuse allegations against director Woody Allen.
According to <a href="https://variety.com/2021/tv/news/woody-allen-series-hbo-sexual-abuse-dylan-farrow-1234901674/">Variety</a>, the documentary &#8220;Allen v. Farrow&#8221; will feature interviews with Mia Farrow, Dylan Farrow, and Ronan Farrow as well as family friends, investigators, experts, and eyewitnesses. From the report:

I’ve worked with [and] employed women in the top capacity, in every capacity, for years and we’ve always paid them exactly the equal of men,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/woody-allen-defends-himself-against-sex-abuse-paul-bois">Allen said</a>. “I’ve done everything that the #MeToo movement would love to achieve.”
The former “Crimes and Misdemeanors” director added that he does not fear being blacklisted by Hollywood over Dylan Farrow’s accusations.
“I couldn’t care less. I’ve never worked in Hollywood. I’ve always worked in New York, and it doesn’t matter to me for a second,” he said. “If tomorrow nobody would finance my films and nobody would finance my theater plays or nobody would publish my books, I’d still get up and write because that’s what I do. So I will always work. What happens to it commercially is another matter.”

Academy Award-winning actress Kate Winslet now regrets having worked for Roman Polanski and Woody Allen in the past.
Speaking with <a href="https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2020/09/kate-winslet-on-her-career" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Vanity Fair</a>, Winslet said that she wants to be a &#8220;decent example to younger women&#8221; and could not understand her mindset at the time she filmed with the two directors. She starred in Polanski&#8217;s &#8220;Carnage&#8221; in 2011 and Allen&#8217;s &#8220;Wonder Wheel&#8221; in 2017.
&#8220;It’s like, what the f**k was I doing working with Woody Allen and Roman Polanski?&#8221; she said. &#8220;It’s unbelievable to me now how those men were held in such high regard, so widely in the film industry and for as long as they were. It’s f**king disgraceful.&#8221;
&#8220;I can’t turn back the clock,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I’m grappling with those regrets but what do we have if we aren’t able to just be f**king truthful about all of it?&#8221;

Roman Polanski previously admitted to sexually abusing 13-year-old Samantha Geimer before fleeing to Europe in the late-70s. He drugged and sodomized her during a photoshoot at Jack Nicholson’s house in 1977. During the height of the #MeToo movement, as many as <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/23270/five-more-women-accuse-roman-polanski-sexual-paul-bois">five women came forward</a> to accuse Roman Polanski of sexually assaulting them when they were teenagers.
In 2017, upon the release of Allen&#8217;s &#8220;Wonder Wheel,&#8221; Kate Winslet told <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2017/09/06/movies/kate-winslet-relives-two-haunting-film-experiences.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The New York Times</a> that she could not fully comment on the allegations of sexual abuse against the director, adding that she had an &#8220;extraordinary working experience&#8221; with both Allen and Polanski.
&#8220;I didn&#8217;t know Woody and I don&#8217;t know anything about that family. As the actor in the film, you just have to step away and say, I don&#8217;t know anything, really, and whether any of it is true or false,&#8221; she said, as reported by <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/kate-winslet-regrets-working-woody-allen-roman-polanski">Fox News</a>. &#8220;Having thought it all through, you put it to one side and just work with the person. In 2018, when giving her acceptance speech for the London Critics’ Circle film award, Winslet expressed regret for her &#8220;poor decisions&#8221; to work with such men.
“As women around the world and from all walks of life marched last weekend, I realized that I wouldn’t be able to stand here this evening and keep to myself some bitter regrets that I have about poor decisions to work with individuals with whom I wish I had not,” the &#8220;Titanic&#8221; actress said. “It has become clear to me that by not saying anything, I might be adding to the anguish of many courageous women and men.”
&#8220;There are directors, producers, and men of power who have for decades been awarded and applauded for their highly regarded work by both this industry and moviegoers alike,&#8221; she continued.

Film director Spike Lee was forced to apologize over the weekend for supporting his friend and fellow director Woody Allen, who has been accused by his adopted daughter of molesting her when she was seven years old.
&#8220;I Deeply Apologize. My Words Were WRONG,&#8221; Lee wrote on Twitter. &#8220;I Do Not And Will Not Tolerate Sexual Harassment, Assault, Or Violence. Such Treatment Causes Real Damage That Can&#8217;t Be Minimized. &#8211; Truly, Spike Lee.&#8221;
The director of &#8220;Do The Right Thing,&#8221; whose real name is Shelton Jackson Lee, had defended Allen in an <a class="x5l" href="https://710wor.iheart.com/featured/len-berman-and-michael-riedel-in-the-morning/content/2020-06-12-spike-lee-tells-wors-len-michael-woody-allen-is-a-great-filmmaker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener external noreferrer">interview</a> Friday on the New York radio station WOR 710, calling Allen “a great, great filmmaker.”
“This cancel thing is not just Woody. And I think that when we look back on it, (we’re) gonna see that, short of killing somebody, I don’t if you can just erase somebody like they never existed. Woody’s a friend of mine,” Lee said. “I know he’s going through it right now.”
Allen has been accused over the years of molesting his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow in the early 1990s. Allen has always denied the allegation, at one point saying “I never molested my daughter – as all investigations concluded a quarter of a century ago.”
During Allen’s messy divorce from actress Mia Farrow, Dylan alleged that she was abused. While Allen was never criminally charged, presiding Justice Elliott Wilk wrote about the case that “credible testimony … prove[s] that Mr. Allen’s behavior toward Dylan was grossly inappropriate and that measures must be taken to protect her.”
After Allen, now 84, dated Farrow for a decade, the actress found nude pictures of her 21-year-old adopted daughter, Soon-Yi Previn, taken by Allen. The couple split, and Previn, 49, and Allen are now married.
In 2017, when film producer Harvey Weinstein was accused by numerous women of rape and sexual assault, Allen came to his defense, saying he was  “sad” for Weinstein.
“The whole Harvey Weinstein thing is very sad for everybody involved,” he added. “Tragic for the poor women that were involved, sad for Harvey that his life is so messed up,” Allen said, according to the <a href="http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-41626750">BBC</a>.
In a weird coincidence, Allen’s own son, Ronan Farrow, is one of the reporters who investigated Weinstein, speaking to 13 women who said the Hollywood producer had sexually harassed or assaulted them and breaking a major story.
Allen said he had no idea about Weinstein, despite working with him on several films.

Ronan Farrow, the journalist who won the Pulitzer Prize for his work exposing disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, ripped Hachette Book Group, the publisher for his book &#8220;Catch and Kill,&#8221; for not informing him of their work on Woody Allen&#8217;s memoir, his estranged father whom he believes molested his younger sister, Dylan Farrow.
“I was disappointed to learn through press reports that Hachette, my publisher, acquired Woody Allen’s memoir after other major publishers refused to do so and concealed the decision from me and its own employees while we were working on ‘Catch and Kill’ – a book about how powerful men, including Woody Allen, avoid accountability for sexual abuse,” Farrow said in <a href="https://twitter.com/RonanFarrow/status/1234999252381618178" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">a statement on Twitter.</a>
“Hachette did not fact check the Woody Allen book. My sister Dylan has never been contacted to respond to any denial or mischaracterization of the abuse she suffered at the hands of Woody Allen – a credible allegation, maintained for almost three decades, backed up by contemporaneous accounts and evidence,” Farrow continued. “It’s wildly unprofessional in multiple obvious directions for Hachette to behave this way.”
Ronan Farrow concluded by saying that Hachette acted unethically for not fact-checking Woody Allen&#8217;s book and that he cannot work with them in good conscience.
“I’ve encouraged Hachette, out of respect for its readers, authors and reputation, to conduct a thorough fact check of Woody Allen’s account, in particular any claim that implies my sister is not telling the truth,” Farrow said. ”I’ve also told Hachette that a publisher that would conduct itself in this way is one I can’t work with in good conscience.”

I can only hope that my sister can do the same to finally heal.&#8221;
