&#8220;Wonder Woman&#8221; star <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/gal-gadot">Gal Gadot</a> on Wednesday shared a baby picture of her newborn after a secret pregnancy and got flooded with hate over her <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CyHF5n1t322/?hl=en">support</a> of Israel in the comments section.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-hollywood-screening-showing-idf-footage-of-hamas-atrocities-organized-by-gal-gadot-and-oscar-winning-director-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">38-year-old</a> Israeli actress posted on <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C4L5btqPutJ/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a> a picture of her in a hospital holding her infant baby girl, her fourth with husband Jaron Varsona. It has since gone viral with more than 3.5 million views.
Next to the post, she wrote, &#8220;My sweet girl, welcome. The pregnancy was not easy and we made it through.&#8221;

Despite the post being about new life and love, some social media trolls decided to make it all about their hatred for Israelis and Israel&#8217;s response to the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack that left at least 1,200 people dead.
&#8220;Why should we celebrate? She is an active supporter of this terrorist state who killed how many children and newborn babies,&#8221; one user posted.
Another wrote, &#8220;I&#8217;m sure the pregnant Palestinian women in Gaza are having a much harder pregnancy than you did.&#8221;
While a third claimed, &#8220;Israel killing all of the children of Palestine even babies, even newborns.&#8221;
Despite the handful of negative comments, most respondents were excited about Gadot and slammed the disgusting attacks. 
They wrote messages like, &#8220;She has not sinned nor her ancestors…We need to get rid of terrorists and we will.&#8221;

Another user added, &#8220;I honestly cannot believe some of the nasty comments in this post! There is enough nastiness and hatred in this world as it is, why can&#8217;t people be nice and be happy for others.&#8221;

During a recent interview with <a href="https://comicbook.com/movies/news/gal-gadot-wonder-woman-3-james-gunn-peter-safran-dc-films/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ComicBook.com</a>, the 38-year-old actress said &#8220;Wonder Woman 3&#8221; was still in the works, referencing an apparent conversation with the new heads of the studio — James Gunn and Peter Safran — who took over last year.
&#8220;I love portraying Wonder Woman,&#8221; Gadot said when asked about one more film in the franchise. &#8220;It&#8217;s so close to and dear to my heart.&#8221;
&#8220;From what I heard from James [Gunn] and from Peter [Safran] is that we&#8217;re gonna develop a &#8216;Wonder Woman 3&#8217; together,&#8221; she added.

In December, <a href="https://au.variety.com/2022/film/news/patty-jenkins-wonder-woman-star-wars-rogue-squadron-dc-7839/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a> surfaced about the future of the third film, with Gadot reprising the role under the direction of Jenkins, who directed the franchise&#8217;s first two movies, &#8220;Wonder Woman&#8221; and &#8220;Wonder Woman 1984.&#8221;
Initially, speculation was that Jenkins had &#8220;walked away&#8221; and &#8220;Wonder Woman 3&#8221; was not happening because the director had refused to reshape the film after it was announced Gunn and Safran were taking over and the pair had shared there was going to be some changes in the DC Universe.
Jenkins then went public, disputing claims she ever &#8220;walked away&#8221; from the sequel, <a href="https://au.variety.com/2022/film/news/patty-jenkins-wonder-woman-star-wars-rogue-squadron-dc-7839/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety</a> noted.
&#8220;When there started being backlash about WW3 not happening, the attractive clickbait false story that it was me that killed it or walked away started to spread,&#8221; her statement read. &#8220;This is simply not true. I never walked away.&#8221;
&#8220;I was open to considering anything asked of me,&#8221; she added. &#8220;It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.&#8221;
There are not currently any films titled &#8220;Wonder Woman among the slate of projects coming out of DC&#8217;s Chapter One of the DC Universe, called &#8220;Gods and Monsters,&#8221; the CB.com noted.
The interview was done before SAG actor&#8217;s strike, the outlet noted.

&#8220;Shazam&#8221; star Zachary Levi said he almost didn&#8217;t try out for a role in the latest superhero film from DC because at the time he was in a &#8220;dark place&#8221; and undergoing &#8220;life-saving therapy.&#8221;
During the 42-year-old actor&#8217;s recent appearance on &#8220;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaJ-eB6fVxY">The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon</a>,&#8221; Levi said during this &#8220;super intensive&#8221; therapy he was encouraged by a casting exec to try out.
&#8220;I was in kind of a dark place in my life at that point,&#8221; the superhero star said. &#8220;And then fast-forward about a month and a half later, and I&#8217;m in this super intensive, life-saving therapy, and I learned how to love myself, really, for the first time in my life, and I have this whole breakthrough.&#8221;
The &#8220;Shazam! Fury of the Gods&#8221; star then turned to the audience and said &#8220;By the way, go love yourself. If you learn nothing else today, go love yourself, go love yourself, go love yourself, okay?&#8221;
He explained that even though he told his agents he was going to be &#8220;off grid&#8221; for a bit to work on himself, two in a half weeks into this therapy they told him about a supporting role in the movie &#8220;Shazam.&#8221;

He said he decided to go cause he was feeling &#8220;good about himself&#8221; after two weeks into the therapy, ended up &#8220;doing one take&#8221; and sent in the audition tape.
&#8220;And in the course of basically one week, I ended up going from auditioning for this whole other role to them saying, &#8216;Hey, we think you&#8217;re our Shazam,'&#8221; Levi explained.
&#8220;They flew me to Los Angeles,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I had done all my therapy that I needed to do. I go to L.A. I audition and within one week I was Shazam.&#8221;

The &#8220;Shazam&#8221; sequel is the first superhero film to be released under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran who recently took over as heads of DC studios.
Gunn recently hinted at what kind of movies/TV projects he and Safran have planned at the studio, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/james-gunn-teases-plans-for-upcoming-dc-movies-tv-projects">reported</a>.

Gunn laid out his thought process in a lengthy Twitter thread, explaining that while he and Safran both understood that not all of the decisions they made would be popular, they intended to always move forward with what they believed was best for the studio and stayed true to the characters that had been around for decades.

He went on to explain that backlash, however unkind, would not deter them from doing what they believed was best when it came to honoring the characters&#8217; history and moving the stories forward. He also conceded that they were well aware of the possibility that they could make mistakes in that effort.

Perhaps these choices are great, perhaps not, but they are made with sincere hearts &amp; integrity &amp; always with the story in mind,&#8221; he said.
Gunn went on to note that however prepared they were for complaints and social media uproar, that did not change the fact that it could be hurtful. &#8220;No one loves to be harassed or called names — but to be frank, we&#8217;ve been through significantly worse. Gunn&#8217;s overall assessment was that the backlash came with the territory — and in the grand scheme of things, was less important than making sure that DC Studios had a solid path forward.

A new poll shows which superheroes have the most Democratic-leaning fan base — and the results show that it&#8217;s a DC film and a Disney Marvel character that skew the poll to the left.
<a href="https://echeloninsights.com/in-the-news/may-22-omnibus-pop-culture/">Echelon Insights</a> conducted a poll from May 20-23, asking 1,020 “voters in the likely electorate” everything from who their favorite superhero was to which blockbuster films coming out over the summer they planned to see.
The poll found that respondents’ top three superheroes of all time came from the DC Universe, with Superman in first place at 28%, Batman in second with 24%, and Wonder Woman in third place with 21%.

The poll also found that men favored Superman and Batman more than women did, who were over two times as likely to pick <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/some-feminists-are-enraged-wonder-woman-probably-ben-shapiro">Wonder Woman</a> as their favorite hero over men who thought the same.
To break that down further, the poll found which way Democrats and Republicans leaned when it came to their favorite caped-crusaders. Republican pollster Patrick Ruffini <a href="https://twitter.com/PatrickRuffini/status/1530264110444716036?s=20&amp;t=5FWsUg3LD5THQAm4vVSAmA">tweeted</a> that results showed that &#8220;most movie superheroes have a balanced fan base, only Black Panther and Wonder Woman lean significantly left.&#8221;
The study showed that Democrats were much more likely than Republicans to favor Black Panther and Wonder Woman. However, when it came to classic heroes such as Superman and Batman, it didn&#8217;t matter which side of the political aisle as person was on; they had broad appeal.
Later, those participating in the poll were asked which movies they had seen or planned to see this summer, and &#8220;Top Gun: Maverick&#8221; beat all other films with 29%. In second place with 27% was &#8220;Jurassic World: Dominion.&#8221;
And it might not come as a surprise to anyone that the highly-anticipated sequel to the 1986 &#8220;Top Gun&#8221; was the most popular among Republicans, while the next installment in the dinosaur franchise was the most anticipated film among Democrats.

We’re living in the age of superlatives, yet not enough are heaped upon Jon Favreau.
Not only did the writer/director jumpstart the MCU with 2008’s “Iron Man,” he directed the biggest Christmas movie of the modern age, “Elf.” He also wrote and co-starred in the seminal screen bromance “Swingers.”
That was just a warm-up act for his biggest pop culture magic trick to date. Favreau brought “Star Wars” back from the pop culture grave with “The Mandalorian.”
So who does Team “Star Wars” think can revive the franchise’s movie fortunes?

The director <a href="https://apnews.com/article/disney-investor-day-star-wars-marvel-68c5b8c3be5e5e0452095f493e86d9d8">will helm “Rogue Squadron,”</a> the first new “Star Wars” movie following the poorly received trilogy that capped the Skywalker saga. The next “Star Wars” film hits theaters Christmas 2023, assuming the theatrical model still exists by then.
The choice seemed wise, even hopeful, as recently as a few weeks ago. Now? It might seal the fate of “Star Wars” as a theatrical empire.
Sound harsh? Take a long, hard look at Jenkins’ new film, “Wonder Woman 1984.” It brims with all the sins fans accused the new “Star Wars” films of committing.

Yes, Jenkins directed a flat-out gem with 2017’s “<a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/wonder-woman-review-gal-gadot/">Wonder Woman</a>” and deserves plenty of credit for it. It’s why the “Star Wars”-Jenkins pairing seemed so promising.
She’s far more hands on with the sequel, though, given her growing Hollywood clout. She likely felt less pressure from Warner Bros. suits following the runaway success of the first “Wonder Woman” adventure. Plus, she co-wrote the story and screenplay for “WW84,” meaning her fingerprints are all over the finished product.
It’s her baby, and <a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/wonder-woman-1984-review/">it’s a mess</a>.
In fact, once the geek hype for the sequel subsided the film’s Rotten Tomatoes score sank from the high 80s to a <a href="https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/wonder_woman_1984">modest 65 percent “fresh.”</a>
That’s no accident.
So Disney, the studio that now owns Star Wars, Inc., is entrusting its movie franchise to Jenkins.
Why?
For starters, Disney is as woke as any film studio these days. Jenkins will be the first female director to helm a “Star Wars” feature. That matters.
It’s also likely why Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy, the person in charge of the “Star Wars” brand, still has her job after torching “Star Wars” as a theatrical juggernaut. Each of the main “Star Wars” sequels created under her watch made less money than the previous film.

The other “Star Wars” films under Kennedy’s reign delivered mixed results.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” became a box office disappointment with a<a href="https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt3778644/?ref_=bo_se_r_1"> $213 million haul.</a> “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” served up the best thrills of the new “Star Wars” era, earning a <a href="https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt3748528/?ref_=bo_se_r_1">respectable $532 million</a> despite its microscopic ties to the Skywalker clan.
The same “Star Wars” fans who clamor for Baby Yoda merch feel far less attached to the “new” “Star Wars” characters from the recent trilogy.
Analysts can point to many reasons for “Star Wars&#8217;” creative decline, from never assembling the original trilogy’s core heroes on screen to a narrative that felt scribbled down on the fly.
The film’s woke nods clearly factored into the equation. Think Mary Sue heroines (Rey, Rose Tico) strained progressive subplots (“The Last Jedi’s” casino debacle) and emasculating the one character who could carry Han Solo’s rogue torch (Oscar Isaac’s Poe Dameron).
Any chance Jenkins, given the keys to the biggest space franchise in history, won’t repeat what she brought to “WW84?”

Slim, meet none.
Movies like “Wonder Woman 1984” and the upcoming “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” must thrive outside the American marketplace to make fiscal sense. China is currently the dominant theatrical market for Hollywood given the current pandemic — and it may remain so moving forward.
So how did “Wonder Woman 1984” fare in China? The movie under-performed in its opening weekend to the tune of $18.8 million, getting bested by a Chinese original (“The Rescue”). “WW84” <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/amp/news/china-box-office-shock-wave-2-opens-to-65m-wonder-woman-1984-fizzles-out">plummeted 92 percent</a> the following weekend.
That’s not a typo.
The far-left Hollywood Reporter added some <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/china-box-office-wonder-woman-1984-limps-towards-second-place-opening">necessary context to “WW84’s” lousy showing.</a>

This is the director “Star Wars” is pinning its cinematic rebirth around?
Favreau made us care about “Star Wars” again with a simple, foolproof formula. Skip the woke theatrics. Tell a story hearkening back to core elements like a stoic main character, companionship, and selfless acts of heroism. Deliver slam-bang action without hand-wringing.
In short, summon the creative spirit George Lucas first unleashed on the culture in 1977. Can Jenkins do the same with “Rogue Squadron?” The evidence so far suggests she can’t, and Kennedy doesn’t care.

Why Star Wars Made A Massive Mistake Hiring Patty Jenkins

Wonder Woman 1984, the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2017 Amazon goddess origin story, recasts Gal Gadot as the titular heroine. As the title suggests, the sequel is set seven decades after the events of the first film. Gadot is no longer a bedazzled wanderer but a successful archeologist. 
Wonder Woman 1984 ejects Zach Snyder and Allan Heinberg from the writer’s room, diverting greater creative control to the director, Patty Jenkins. The resulting plot is a lackadaisical mess; it’s a half-baked rewrite of Disney’s Aladdin with none of the charm and a heaping supply of political commentary riddled throughout.
The original Wonder Woman had Gal Gadot deflecting bolts of lightning hurled at her by Aeries — the Greek God of war. She channelled enough energy to tear a hole through his torso, eviscerating him — a God! In Wonder Woman 1984, Wonder Woman’s powers are inexplicably dwarfed and blunted. Here, Gal Gadot can barely fight her way through a cadre of White House security guards. In the same scene, Gadot is handily beaten by her former museum coworker (Kristen Wiig) who, through the ancient Aladdin-esque relic at the crux of this film, “wished” for Diana’s charm and strength.
The sequel cast Pedro Pascal as the main villain: a Ponzi scheme-peddling charlatan with a penchant for power. How Pascal was able to maintain a straight face while delivering such tacky and cartoonish lines as, “I am not a loser; he is a loser,” is a triumph of his skill as an actor. 
But Pascal’s vainglorious oil baron goes beyond the boilerplate comic material from which Wonder Woman is sourced. Everything from Pascal’s hair to his catchphrases, television personality and yearning for approval is cut and curated to create an effigy of Donald Trump. If you thought Hollywood’s fetish for browbeating Republican presidents was limited to the actual years of their tenure, think again! 
And it doesn’t stop there. With the film set in the 1980s, Patty Jenkins couldn’t waste the opportunity to further wield Wonder Woman as a cinematic cudgel for a knock at President Ronald Reagan. When Pascal asks for his greatest wish, the stand-in for Reagan replies, “What is there to wish for but more? More nuclear weapons. More than they have.” 
Pinned against one of the laziest Cold War plots to ever leave the Hollywood conveyer belt, Wonder Woman 1984 attempts to paint Reagan as a war-obsessed buffoon whose strategic plan to stockpile armaments results in war with the Soviets. Contrary to Tinseltown’s myth-making revisionist history, it was Reagan’s military doggedness that both deterred Soviet aggression and led to the USSR’s eventual demise.
For a film that so fervently emphasizes the decade in which it takes place — the title is Wonder Woman 1984 — it rarely makes use of this epoch and all its dazzling potential. Aside from a brief scene poking fun at spandex suits and fanny-packs, the film may as well have been set in any other decade. 
With its 1980s Americana backdrop, the soundtrack was an easy opportunity to imbue lighthearted and synthesizer-fueled fun into the film. 1984 saw the release of Springsteen’s Born in the U.S.A, Van Halen’s 1984, and Prince’s Purple Rain (just to name a few). But instead of borrowing from this breadth of pop music that permeated the 80s, Wonder Woman 1984 instead glides through a formulaic dirge of orchestration provided by Hans Zimmer.
Gal Gadot and Chris Pine — as revealed in the trailer, Pine miraculously returns to life — share the same chemistry that buoyed the original film. Except here, in Wonder Woman 1984, the pair are severely hampered by a bilious script. The dialogue is lifeless and glib. It’s miraculous that this was approved by a studio, with such insufferable platitudes as, “truth is the most beautiful thing in the world.” The last time both Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig participated in such an elegy to excruciating nausea, they were <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQK32bwvRuI">singing</a> John Lennon’s “Imagine” — and at least that was only three minutes long.  
Wonder Woman 1984 isn’t just too long; it’s plagued with abysmal pacing. It manages to feel both rushed and dragged out. There’s no sane reason why anybody needs to sit through a ten-minute sequence of Gal Gadot and Chris Pine flying dazzle-eyed through fireworks (in a fighter jet they commandeered without explanation) only to hear Pine elucidate on the vagaries of aeronautics, explaining, “it’s not so easy really; it’s wind and air.”
While immediate sequels to big blockbusters rarely outdo their respective originals, Wonder Woman 1984 delivers with the languid monotony and banal storytelling you would expect from a fifth sequel, at which point films become aimless scenes thrown together for fan service without much afterthought. In Wonder Woman 1984, Wonder Woman manages to leap over a dozen hypothetical sequels, and deliver just that: a flaccid collage of disparate scenes with no coherent plot or character development, much less a vision for the future of the franchise.

Wonder Woman 1984: A Half-Baked, Charmless And Over-Politicized Rewrite Of Disney’s Aladdin

The upcoming &#8220;Wonder Woman 1984&#8221; – a sequel to the 2017 smash hit – will be having a villain whose conception was apparently influenced by Orange Man Bad, though that was not meant as a political statement, the director claimed.
According to Patty Jenkins, the film&#8217;s director, the villain Maxwell Lord, played by Pedro Pascal (&#8220;The Mandalorian&#8221;), was partially inspired by President Donald Trump.
&#8220;He&#8217;s one of them,&#8221; Jenkins told <a href="https://screenrant.com/wonder-woman-1984-movie-political-trump-patty-jenkins/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">Screen Rant </a>of the character&#8217;s many influences.
The director, however, clarified that she is not in any way trying to wade into politics.
&#8220;I mean honestly, the funny thing is he is, but I&#8217;m not trying to make &#8230; We even have the president in this movie, and I&#8217;ve gone out of my way not to make it look like Ronald Reagan,&#8221; Jenkins said. &#8220;I don&#8217;t want to get political; it&#8217;s not about being political.&#8221;
&#8220;I don&#8217;t have an agenda to have a political message to send to the world,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;Everybody needs to look at themselves right now, and our politics, our belief system of excess.&#8221;
When creating Maxwell Lord, she looked at various business successes from the 1980s, and given that Trump was undoubtedly one of the biggest names in business at the time, his influence on the character could not be ignored.
&#8220;Trump&#8217;s definitely one of the people we looked at, but it&#8217;s any of those kind of mavericks of business success that was big in the &#8217;80s. Who went on to be major players in our world in potentially questionable other ways,&#8221; she said.
&#8220;Wonder Woman 1984&#8221; had its June 2020 release date pushed back to October due to the COVID-19 pandemic. There will be a third &#8220;Wonder Woman&#8221; movie, but Jenkins said that will be her last film in the franchise. &#8220;The next one is probably my last Wonder Woman movie, so I have to put everything I want to show there. We have to think carefully,&#8221; she said.
Though 2017&#8217;s &#8220;Wonder Woman&#8221; featured an action heroine, feminist reactions to the film were mixed, primarily due to the fact that the movie still featured a male romantic love interest and a traditionally attractive female in the lead role.
&#8220;To me, whatever chance Wonder Woman had of being some kind of feminist antidote to the overabundance of superhero movies made by and for bros was blown by its prevailing occupation with the titular heroine’s sex appeal,&#8221; wrote Christina Cauterucci of <a href="https://slate.com/human-interest/2017/06/i-wish-wonder-woman-were-as-feminist-as-it-thinks-it-is.html">Slate</a>. &#8220;Characters frequently note that Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, who goes by Diana in the film, is &#8216;the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen.&#8217; Her male companions in the fight against Germany’s WWI forces drool behind her back at the notion that there may somewhere be an island full of women who look like her, with no men in sight.&#8221;
