<div>DAR allows <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/daughters-of-the-american-revolution-chapters-plead-with-trump-to-save-org-from-trans-radicals">men who believe they are women</a> to join the historic female-only society, which prompted <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-daughters-of-the-american-revolution-could-declare-independence-from-woke?author=Megan+Brock&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=The+Daughters+Of+The+American+Revolution+Could+Declare+Independence+From+Woke">local chapters</a> to put forward the resolution clarifying that only natural-born women could join the society. “The term ‘woman’ shall be understood to clearly mean a woman who was born female, and therefore, individuals who were born male shall not be eligible for membership; transgender women shall not be eligible for membership,” the proposed resolution states, according to a document reviewed by The Daily Wire.</div>

<div>The Daily Wire obtained an internal memo and legal analysis of the resolution distributed by the organization&#8217;s Executive Committee to voting members of DAR. The memo was dated June 19 — days before members would vote to decide if DAR&#8217;s future will remain exclusively female. The Executive Committee wrote it felt an &#8220;obligation&#8221; to provide educational information on the proposed resolution, warning it would &#8220;prohibit transgender women from joining the DAR,&#8221; according to the memo.</div>

<div>&#8220;At the 135th Continental Congress, voting members will consider a resolution submitted by a group of DAR chapters to prohibit transgender women from joining the DAR,&#8221; states the memo. &#8220;The National Board of Management has an obligation to ensure that members voting on consequential matters have access to information necessary to fully exercise that responsibility.&#8221;</div>

<div>The DAR Executive Committee called upon <a href="https://michigan.law.umich.edu/faculty-and-scholarship/our-faculty/samuel-r-bagenstos">Professor Samuel Bagenstos</a>, a professor of law at the University of Michigan with a <a href="https://www.michigandaily.com/news/government/domestic-policy-corps-and-out-public-host-supreme-court-civil-rights-litigator/">history</a> of involvement in LGBTQ+ litigation, to provide members with legal analysis of the &#8220;risks this resolution would create&#8221; for DAR.</div>

<div>&#8220;I worked on many regulations and initiatives involving the rights of transgender individuals,&#8221; Bagenstos wrote in his legal analysis.</div>

<div>Bagenstos served in the Biden administration from January 2021 to December 2024. He served as General Counsel to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) from June 2022 to December 2024, as it made <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/inside-the-biden-admins-scramble-to-find-data-to-support-its-pro-trans-foster-care-reform">radical moves</a> to push transgenderism onto children. Bagenstos notes in his <a href="https://michigan.law.umich.edu/faculty-and-scholarship/our-faculty/samuel-r-bagenstos">biography</a> that he drafted and issued major rules on issues such as &#8220;the treatment of <span class="caps">LGBTQ</span>+ kids in the foster care system.&#8221;</div>

<div>The Executive Committee told DAR members informed decision-making is &#8220;best served when voting members have access to relevant information and expert analysis&#8221; and that Bagenstos&#8217; legal analysis of the resolution was being distributed &#8220;in full and without modification,&#8221; according to the internal memo.</div>

<div>The legal analysis from Bagenstos strongly suggested DAR will face harsh consequences if it adopts the position that men cannot be women.</div>

<div>“I have reviewed the proposed resolution that would introduce a requirement to bar transgender women from admission to membership in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In my legal opinion, implementing the proposed resolution would expose the National Society to significant risk of being found in violation of the District of Columbia Human Rights Law,” Bagenstos wrote in the opening paragraph of the legal analysis. &#8220;If found in violation, the National Society could be required to pay damages to those excluded from membership. More significantly, it would likely lose both its D.C. tax exemption and any licenses or permits to operate Constitution Hall.&#8221;</div>

<div>The three page legal analysis provided by Bagenstos concluded with a strong message to members that the adoption of the female-only resolution would &#8220;very likely&#8221; have dire financial consequences for the organization.</div>

<div>“The proposed resolution would very likely expose the National Society to liability for damages and injunctive relief—as well as the revocation of business licenses and tax-exempt status–under D.C. law,” wrote Bagenstos.</div>

<p class="p1">There’s a humanitarian crisis taking place in Iran. However, it’s not the news currently making international headlines — it’s far worse.</p>
<p class="p1">Amid internet blackouts, I have the unique opportunity to speak directly with men and women in Iran through my line of work. Through these conversations, I am offered a rare glimpse into the harsh realities facing Iranian citizens, and my heart is burdened by the latest update I received.</p>
<p class="p1">They tell me stories of Iranian women, behind prison walls, being abused, silenced, and erased. Detained for boldly raising their voice and fighting for freedom against a brutal regime, these women are enduring unthinkable, dehumanizing acts of violence.</p>
<p class="p1">Reports from activists and former detainees explain that women in detention centers are experiencing extreme sexual abuse and violence, resulting in lasting physical and psychological trauma. Some women have even had their uterus removed or have suffered severe intestinal damage requiring surgeries such as the use of a colostomy bag.</p>
<p class="p1">The reason behind such abuse? Extreme religious doctrine.</p>
<p class="p1">According to human rights reports and firsthand testimonies, abuse against Iranian women has been justified by perpetrators using distorted religious reasoning. The most disturbing allegations are claims that these men believe they are considered “blessed” for raping a woman prior to her execution.</p>
<p class="p1">Global headlines may be focused on airstrikes and political moves, but this disturbing reality happening to women — fellow human beings — remains unseen and unaddressed.</p>
<p class="p1">This hidden abuse in detention centers reflects a broader societal issue in Iran, where the lives of young girls and women are marked by deep oppression and suffering. In the eyes of the regime, women are disposable, voiceless, unintelligent, worthless, and less than.</p>
<p class="p1">Women in Iran are suffering from horrific abuse. If we truly care about human rights, we as Americans must condemn this violence. And if we value our own freedoms, we must open our eyes to the threat unfolding before us in our very own nation.</p>
<p class="p1">These realities of oppression against women all have a common thread: they are accepted and taking place under Sharia-based laws. More importantly, the same radical, dangerous system of thought is infiltrating the West at this very moment, and Americans must take notice.</p>
<p class="p1">As an Iranian American woman, my heart breaks for what is happening in my home country. What&#8217;s even more unsettling is to witness the recent protests in America against the war in Iran, knowing Iran&#8217;s own citizens themselves are desperate for change, even if it means war.</p>
<p class="p1">To stand against the war in Iran is to stand with the Iranian regime. Before taking to the streets or rallying behind a cause or a group, it’s important to understand who and what you are supporting.</p>
<p class="p1">In Iran, the institution of marriage is steeped in patriarchal traditions that strip women of their freedom. Women must obtain the consent of a male guardian, which is typically their father or another male relative, before they can marry. This requirement not only undermines a woman&#8217;s right to choose her partner but also reinforces a troubling hierarchy that places men in control of women&#8217;s lives.</p>
<p class="p1">The legal framework governing marriage in Iran is alarming. The legal age for women to marry is a mere 9 years old. This practice not only robs young girls of their childhood but also subjects them to lifelong consequences, exposing them to forced marriages, early pregnancies, and a lifelong cycle of physical and emotional abuse.</p>
<p class="p1">Polygamy is another stark reminder of the inequality embedded in Iranian family laws. While men can take up to four wives, women are denied the right to have multiple husbands. This creates an unbalanced dynamic, where women are often left vulnerable and without legal recourse in the face of marital discord.</p>
<p class="p1">The legal system further compounds these injustices. In divorce proceedings, a woman&#8217;s testimony is frequently valued less than that of a man’s, placing her at a significant disadvantage. Women face immense hurdles when seeking divorce, with limited grounds for initiation, while men can unilaterally end a marriage. Custody of children often defaults to fathers after a certain age, further marginalizing women&#8217;s roles as caregivers.</p>
<p class="p1">Travel restrictions add another layer of control over women’s lives. In a society where women must seek their husbands&#8217; permission to travel or obtain a passport, the very notion of independence becomes a distant dream. Similarly, inheritance laws favor men, with daughters inheriting half of what sons do, reinforcing traditional gender roles and perpetuating economic disparities.</p>
<p class="p1">The societal expectations placed on women are equally stifling. Cultural norms pressure women to prioritize marriage and family over personal aspirations, creating a narrative that limits their potential. Temporary marriages, often viewed as a form of legalized prostitution, further exploit women, trapping them in precarious situations where they may feel compelled to sacrifice their dignity for economic survival.</p>
<p class="p1">In Iran, women are considered second-class citizens. Across all political, social, and legal systems, women face restrictions in movement, employment, public life, and personal autonomy. These barriers both reflect and reinforce one of the widest gender gaps that we are witnessing in the world today.</p>
<p class="p1">Finally, “honor killings” are far too common in Iran. Too many Iranian women and girls have been murdered by male family members for allegedly bringing “dishonor” to their families. While technically illegal, loopholes and cultural factors exist that have led to reduced sentencing for those who fulfill the honor killing.</p>
<p class="p1">As an American, I value the freedoms we enjoy, such as freedom of speech and religion. However, as Islam becomes more popular and grows in influence here in America, I worry that the lines between religion and Sharia Law will become blurred.</p>
<p class="p1">I understand deeply the great evil that is at the root of Sharia Law, which is the law of radical Islam. The systematic abuse of women in Iran is a direct result of a misguided, cruel, and religiously motivated agenda that seeks to destroy women.</p>
<p class="p1">If violence against women is normalized in places like Iran under the protection of Sharia Law, couldn’t these same ideologies and practices appear in the West if left unchecked?</p>
<p class="p1">America must remain diligent, proceed with caution, and raise awareness of a system of thought that could quickly and quietly gain support in our nation.</p>

Rowling — and not only for writing one of the most beloved and best-selling fantasy book series of all time. She will be remembered for the role she played in saving civilization from the harms of gender ideology.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rowling is an internationally beloved icon, known for bringing joy to millions through the Harry Potter book series. Harry Potter was, and still is, a cultural behemoth that has been retold through movies, video games, and theme parks, and is now being turned into an HBO</span><a href="https://people.com/harry-potter-series-cast-side-by-side-original-movie-actors-11934425"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">television series</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">But in 2020, almost overnight, Rowling went from being the queen of popular culture to becoming an internationally hated villain. Her crime? Defending women&#8217;s rights and publicly acknowledging you can&#8217;t change your sex.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In late 2019, Rowling was already receiving backlash for hinting she disagreed with the transgender agenda in social media posts. However, she fully outed herself as &#8220;transphobic&#8221; in June 2020 by publishing a powerful and highly controversial</span> <a href="https://www.jkrowling.com/opinions/j-k-rowling-writes-about-her-reasons-for-speaking-out-on-sex-and-gender-issues/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">essay</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that defended women&#8217;s rights and biological reality.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rowling explained in the essay how &#8220;trans activism&#8221; was threatening the rights of women across the globe and expressed concerns over women losing their fertility from medical transitions and the dangers of allowing men into female private spaces.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;It’s been clear to me for a while that the new trans activism is having (or is likely to have, if all its demands are met) a significant impact on many of the causes I support, because it’s pushing to erode the legal definition of sex and replace it with gender,&#8221; Rowling wrote.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8220;I do not want to make natal girls and women less safe. When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman — and, as I’ve said, gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones — then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside. That is the simple truth.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It&#8217;s incredible to read this essay today and see how ahead of the curve Rowling was in understanding the many ways gender ideology harms women and society.</span><span style="font-weight: 400;"> </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As one of the earliest and boldest celebrity figures to speak clearly on these issues, Rowling earned brutal backlash from nearly every corner of the internet, from fans removing their Harry Potter tattoos because they now represented &#8220;</span><a href="https://www.vice.com/en/article/fans-tell-us-why-they-want-to-cover-up-their-harry-potter-tattoos/#:~:text=Some%20people%20have%20covered%20up%20their%20Harry,assume%20she%20has%20similar%20views%20to%20Rowling."><span style="font-weight: 400;">transphobia</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8221; to harsh</span><a href="https://www.theguardian.com/film/2024/may/01/daniel-radcliffe-says-rupture-with-jk-rowling-over-trans-rights-is-really-sad"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">criticism</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> from Daniel Radcliffe, the actor who played Harry Potter in the movies.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rowling has been called derogatory names and had her physical safety</span><a href="https://www.ncregister.com/blog/jk-rowling-opens-up-about-threats"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">threatened</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> thousands of times over her opposition of gender ideology. And almost six years after publishing her initial essay, she&#8217;s still being criticized for supporting biological reality and women&#8217;s rights.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Just last week, Andrew Garfield, a B-list actor best known for being Emma Stone&#8217;s</span><a href="https://www.elle.com/culture/celebrities/a65796803/emma-stone-andrew-garfield-spider-man-experience/"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">ex-boyfriend</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, went viral for taking a dig at Rowling in an interview. Garfield called watching the Harry Potter movies &#8220;</span><a href="https://www.the-independent.com/arts-entertainment/films/news/andrew-garfield-harry-potter-daniel-radcliffe-jk-rowling-b2948074.html"><span style="font-weight: 400;">controversial</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">&#8221; and said, &#8220;We shouldn’t be, you know, putting money in the pocket of inhumane legislation right now through she that shall remain nameless.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rowling has a</span> <a href="https://jkrwf.org/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">fund</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> that supports individuals and organizations &#8220;fighting to retain women’s and girls’ sex-based rights in all aspects of life.&#8221; Rowlings financially</span> <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/society/2025/apr/16/critics-of-trans-rights-win-uk-supreme-court-case-over-definition-of-woman"><span style="font-weight: 400;">supported</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> a group that won a U.K. Supreme Court case in 2025 that clarified the definition of &#8220;woman&#8221; should be based on biological sex in the U.K.&#8217;s Equality Act 2010.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In response to that win, Rowling tweeted a photo of herself, holding a drink and smoking a cigar, with the simple caption, &#8220;I love it when a plan comes together.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Tuesday is Transgender Day of Visibility, a fake holiday</span><a href="https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/the-history-behind-international-transgender-day-of-visibility"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">created by a man</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> pretending to be a woman, and I think it&#8217;s a perfect day to celebrate J.K. Rowling. Rowling is a real woman who has held the line on biological reality for us all. She has given the issue of gender ideology visibility in a way that only a</span> <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/mattcraig/2025/05/30/jk-rowling-is-a-billionaire-again/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">billionaire</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> cultural icon could.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">She&#8217;s chosen to make herself visible, putting a target on her back, and has taken many arrows from angry transgender activists who have threatened her safety and tried to</span> <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-64729304"><span style="font-weight: 400;">destroy her legacy</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. In spite of it all, she&#8217;s carried on with a smile and a sharp sense of humor and has helped other women fighting similar battles.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">One of her first acts of defiance against gender ideology happened in 2019 when Rowling defended</span> <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/society/2023/jul/01/maya-forstater-woman-who-lost-job-after-tweeting-view-on-biological-sex-awarded-100000-by-tribunal"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Maya Forstater</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, a British researcher who lost her job for tweeting that a man cannot change his biological sex. She continues to face headwinds for women fighting for biological rights on the ground through the</span><a href="https://jkrwf.org/"> <span style="font-weight: 400;">J.K. Rowling Women&#8217;s Fund</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Rowling could have just chosen to stay quiet and enjoy life in her private Scottish castle. Instead, she chose to fight for and support those who don&#8217;t have the means or voice to fight alone. Those who give up their own comfort for the betterment of others are the kinds of historical figures that save civilizations. History will remember J. K. Rowling for doing her part.</span></p>

<p>Joy Reid did a side-by-side comparison of the United States and Iran, and her overall takeaway was that if American women were better off than their Iranian counterparts, they were not better off by much.</p>
<p>Reid, who was ousted from her regular gig with liberal network MSNBC before NBC News jettisoned the now rebranded cable news network (MS NOW), argued that the United States had secret police just like Iran and was just as oppressive when it came to how women were treated — although she listed off the &#8220;oppressive&#8221; policies impacting American women and did not mention one of the many that affect Iranian women. The only real difference, she claimed, was that American oppression came at the hands of Christians and Iran&#8217;s oppressive regime was rooted in Islam.</p>

<p>&#8220;We get told, particularly when it comes to Arabs and Muslims and Africans, that people are just diabolically evil for no reason, right? That they do things because they hate our freedoms. We were told this about Iraq, that they just hated us for no damn reason at all,&#8221; Reid said, suggesting that the narrative was invented out of whole cloth in order to justify American actions.</p>
<p>&#8220;Now, I’m not saying that that regime is not bad, but, by the way, our regime is not good,&#8221; Reid continued. &#8220;Our regime has secret police. They have secret police. Our regime is oppressing women, taking away abortion rights, taking away women’s rights in like 26 states — some states where they’re trying to have the death penalty for having an abortion.&#8221;</p>
<p>Reid acknowledged briefly that the Iranian rulers &#8220;also oppress women,&#8221; but omitted the <a href="https://iranhumanrights.org/2025/03/gender-apartheid-in-iran-is-crushing-womens-lives-and-futures/">extent of that oppression</a>. A number of the regime&#8217;s laws — and the punishment for breaking them — only apply to women.</p>

<li>Women must adhere to a mandatory dress code that requires covering their hair, arms, and legs in public. The regime&#8217;s so-called “morality police” — along with surveillance cameras — enforce the rule, and women who disobey could face hefty fines, prison sentences of five to 15 years, or be barred from travel. <p>The National Library of Scotland (NLS) is under fire after Amina Shah, Scotland’s national librarian and the NLS chief executive, opted not to include a pro-women&#8217;s rights book in a centenary display.</p>
<p>The NLS initially asked the public for nominations, calling the display a &#8220;love letter&#8221; to reading and literacy and suggesting that people submit titles that had inspired and encouraged their love of reading — and titles that received a certain number of nominations were to be included in the planned ten-month display.</p>
<p>One book that received more than double the requisite number of nominations was &#8220;The Women Who Wouldn&#8217;t Wheesht&#8221; — a series of essays that chronicled the fight between feminists like &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; author J.K. Rowling who questioned radical gender ideology and former Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon&#8217;s gender self-identification law. The title comes from their refusal to remain silent — in the Gaelic &#8220;haud yer wheesht&#8221; — while radical trans activists effectively erased women.</p>
<p>Despite meeting the threshold for display, &#8220;The Women Who Wouldn&#8217;t Wheesht&#8221; was banned by the NLS after LGBT staffers complained that it was &#8220;hate speech.&#8221; Shah claimed that she&#8217;d made the decision in light of &#8220;the potential impact on key stakeholders&#8221; who could potentially &#8220;withdraw support for the exhibition and the centenary&#8221; altogether.</p>
<p>Susan Dalgety and Lucy Hunter Blackburn, who edited the book, sent a letter to Shah questioning the decision.</p>

<p>The &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; author availed herself then of the opportunity to explain her point further, telling the musician, &#8220;There are many differences between us, George, but some are particularly relevant to this debate. 1. You&#8217;re a man and I&#8217;m a woman. 2. You&#8217;ve been wealthy and famous since your early 20s. I didn&#8217;t become well known until I was well over 30. 3. I&#8217;ve never been given 15 months for handcuffing a man to a wall and beating him with a chain. 4. I believe in freedom of speech and belief.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;For more than half my life I was a regular anonymous person,&#8221; Rowling continued. &#8220;Some of those years were spent in poverty. That&#8217;s why I understand the importance of single-sex spaces for women who&#8217;re reliant on state-funded services. That&#8217;s why I understand why mixed public changing rooms are a problem for women. That&#8217;s why I have a problem with men &#8216;identifying&#8217; into women&#8217;s rape crisis centres, domestic abuse and homeless shelters that are supposed to be single-sex.&#8221;</p>
<p>&#8220;I don&#8217;t stand against gender identity ideology because I personally still need those services, but because my life has taught me exactly how vulnerable women are when they don&#8217;t have the money/influence I have now,&#8221; she added. &#8220;You yourself have been convicted of violent assault. The overwhelming number of people who commit crimes of violence are male, just like you. That&#8217;s why I don&#8217;t want to see men identifying into women&#8217;s prison cells or any of the spaces mentioned above. Not all men are violent or predatory, but enough are to make safeguarding necessary.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rowling concluded with a jab at the artist&#8217;s public persona – which was always rooted in individuality and freedom of expression — and argued that he was caving to the crowd by taking the position he had on gender ideology.</p>
<p>&#8220;Lastly, I&#8217;m a writer who believes in freedom of speech and belief. As we both know, the safe, fashionable thing in the arts world right now is to do exactly what you&#8217;re doing: parrot TWAW and sneer at the unenlightened plebs who think sex is important and matters. <p>Acclaimed author J.K. Rowling announced on Saturday that she may have found the winning entry for &#8220;Bats*** Take of the Year,&#8221; and she shared her findings in an X post.</p>
<p>In addition to creating the famed &#8220;Harry Potter&#8221; book series, Rowling has been a vocal advocate for sex-based rights and, in particular, protections for single-sex spaces for women who are survivors of domestic abuse. For that reason, radical transgender activists have labeled her a Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist (TERF) and have repeatedly targeted her for abuse and harassment on social media.</p>
<p>Rowling highlighted one such attack in her Saturday post, saying it ought to be a contender for one of the craziest comments of the year.</p>
<p>She shared a screenshot of just the text of the post — without displaying the person&#8217;s identity: &#8220;Has it ever occurred to you that by constantly suggesting that men get into women&#8217;s spaces to rape by wearing a dress and a wig that they might be following your suggestion? Your endless bulls*** harms both women and trans people.&#8221;</p>
<p>Rowling responded to the post, saying, &#8220;It&#8217;s only February, but this will take some beating at the 2025 Bats*** Take of the Year Awards. &#8216;It&#8217;s women&#8217;s fault if trans-identified men commit sexual assault in previously women-only spaces, because by saying that&#8217;s a thing that happens, women put the idea in men&#8217;s heads.'&#8221;</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Last month, the Taliban put into effect new laws stripping the women of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/afghanistan" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Afghanistan</a> of the last of their basic human rights. While here in America, feminists like to define their basic human rights as access to abortion, Afghan women are no longer allowed to speak in public, show any skin or leave their home without a male chaperone.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">As of late August, the Taliban received approval from supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada to put into place its “<a href="https://apnews.com/article/afghanistan-taliban-vice-virtue-laws-women-b6db61e124116c712c867d2e1a4532ba" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vice and Virtue decree</a>,” which prohibits Islamic people from many religious and daily practices. Females were, unsurprisingly, hit the hardest by these new laws. Afghan women have been deemed as temptations, and therefore cannot show any skin or use their voices in public for any reason. They also may not make eye contact with men to whom they are not married, or blood related, out of fear of punishment and torture.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">These new practices and ones already in place, including the end of education for women at 12 years of age and the inability to see male doctors, have not only left women with no rights, but truly no chance at a healthy and contented life. If these women are not allowed to be educated enough to be health care providers, and also can’t see male doctors, what will happen to them if and when they need health care? They will clearly become sick and suffer — which is, ultimately, the Taliban’s goal.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Women have been banned from most public spaces including parks, gyms and many stores. This has left women-led households particularly vulnerable. Since women are no longer let out of the home without a male, they are unable to walk, exercise or even shop for basic necessities like food.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Why is no one talking about this? Coming up on a month after the new bans took effect, the Biden Administration has barely mentioned this situation, let alone done anything to combat it. Where are the thousands of women who marched and protested after the overturn of Roe v. Wade and chanted “my body my choice?” Why don’t these people seem to care about the Afghan women having no rights over their bodies — including what they can wear, who they can speak to, or if they can speak at all? Or what about the girls as young as 5-years-old being sold into marriages under the Taliban — what about their choice?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The answer ultimately comes down to the sad fact that it was the Biden-Harris Administration <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/terror-threats-from-afghanistan-have-flourished-under-biden-harris-admin-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">who helped fuel</a> the Taliban to be able to perpetrate these acts in the first place. It is American taxpayer dollars that have been sent to make all of this happen. In August, the Taliban received <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/us-aid-vetting-failures-may-have-benefited-militants-afghanistan-watchdog-finds-2024-07-17/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">nearly $240 million</a> in U.S. aid. The funds, ironically, even came from a State Department division called “Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor.” How does funding a brutal group that uses physical abuse as punishment for speaking in public qualify as maintaining human rights?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">In Afghanistan, women&#8217;s lives are truly not their own. This is not just a matter of abortion or contraception as we hear in America. Women are being sentenced to death for “moral crimes” such as adultery or refusal of arranged marriages. Women who commit these crimes are being put to death, even by stoning. Afghan women are also eligible for forced “virginity testing” which are often inaccurate tests performed on young women to determine if they have abstained from sexual relations. If girls “fail” these tests, they can face torture, ridicule or death, even in cases of rape. If a woman has been raped and is married, she is an adulterer, which once again circles back to the “moral crimes” punishments.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">It’s important to note that Afghanistan wasn’t always like this. Prior to the Afghan–Soviet War in 1979, women actually experienced a fair number of freedoms. They were able to work, express themselves through choice of clothing. But after the war, and the initial takeover by the Taliban in 1996, these women and girls slowly started to lose themselves to the evil that had taken over their home.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">American feminists might want to open their eyes to see beyond their tired and misguided rhetoric. Take a look at what actual denial of a woman’s control over her body looks like.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">These women will continue to suffer under the Taliban as long as Biden and Harris remain in office. It is their policy blunders that have assisted in the progression of these inhumane acts. In the meantime, Islamic women have taken to social media and to singing in the streets to protest the laws leaving them deprived of actual human rights.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The next time American feminists try to tell you about your “oppression” as a female in America, remember you are still allowed to speak in public, receive an education, carry out a career, and have access to world-class health care — all unattainable dreams for Afghan women who don’t have the blessing and privilege to be a woman in America today.</span></p>

<p>The Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives passed the Title IX CRA (Congressional Review Act) on Thursday, taking an important step toward overturning President Joe Biden&#8217;s recent rewrite of Title IX.</p>
<p>Rep. Mary Miller (R-IL) celebrated the bill&#8217;s passage with a post on X, saying, &#8220;The House just passed my bill to protect girls&#8217; sports by blocking Joe Biden&#8217;s radical Title IX rewrite. <p>In order to succeed in <a href="https://www.insidehighered.com/news/government/2024/06/14/house-republicans-advance-legislation-block-title-ix-regs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">overturning Biden&#8217;s rewrite of Title IX</a> — which applies the law&#8217;s protections to include gender identity rather than only biological sex and allows males into female-only spaces and athletic competitions — the Title IX CRA would also have to pass with a simple majority in the Democrat-controlled Senate, after which President Biden could still exercise his veto power.</p>

<p>Activists in Carrboro, North Carolina — near Chapel Hill — vandalized a tour bus promoting women&#8217;s sports advocates on their &#8220;<a href="https://ourbodiesoursports.com/bus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Take Back Title IX</a>&#8221; summer bus tour, scrawling profane and anti-woman messages all over the outside of the bus as well as pelting it with eggs.</p>
<p>The Independent Women&#8217;s Forum is promoting the tour, which features a number of prominent female athletes — among them former collegiate swimmers Riley Gaines and Paula Scanlan and tennis legend Martina Navratilova — and shared photos and video of the bus after it had been vandalized.</p>
<p>&#8220;ATTACK ON FEMALE ATHLETES ON TOUR, BUS TOUR THREATENED:  Overnight vandals violated nearly every inch of the Our Bodies, Our Sports #TakeBackTitleIX bus in Chapel Hill, NC.
