As corporate America continues to abandon diversity, equity, and inclusion schemes, Microsoft is doubling down on race-based hiring and pay policies — and a watchdog group is sounding the alarm.
Consumers’ Research, a non-profit that works to “educate and protect consumers,” is sending out a “woke alert” to warn consumers of the tech giant’s campaigns to push far-left ideologies, even as other corporations ditch the ideological agenda.
“Despite many companies distancing themselves from woke ideology, Microsoft continues to double down on its radical agenda,” the Consumers’ Research Executive Director, Will Hild, told The Daily Wire. “From promoting divisive DEI policies and harmful gender ideology targeting children, to advancing a politically charged climate crusade, Microsoft has made one thing clear: it prioritizes activism over innovation.”

Not so Microsoft, whose Chief Diversity Officer <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/doing-work-intention-inclusion-impact-lindsay-rae-mcintyre-cvg4c/?trackingId=S3Le8KssrO0uhupaH0qc8A%3D%3D">wrote</a> in December that the company&#8217;s &#8220;diversity and inclusion work is more important than ever.”
Just two months earlier, the diversity officer wrote in a <a href="https://blogs.microsoft.com/blog/2024/10/23/microsofts-2024-global-diversity-inclusion-report-our-most-global-transparent-report-yet/">DEI report</a> that “if ever there were a critical time for the business case for diversity and inclusion in the workplace, it is now.” That report featured a section on “pay equity” comparing the average salaries of employees by their race and gender, irrespective of the roles that are held across the different demographic groups.
Microsoft says its goal is to increase the number of women and non-white employees in leadership roles, in part to ensure a leveling of any pay gaps.
“As we continue to increase representation for women and racial and ethnic minority groups at more senior levels, and continue to ensure pay equity for all,” the report reads, with the Vice President of Global Compensation Mike Cyran adding that “any pay gaps indicate opportunities to increase representation at more senior levels.”
“Microsoft seems to be implying diversity metrics should be a main factor in salaries, rather than professional performance and merit,” Consumers’ Research says in its woke alert.
Microsoft’s commitment to DEI policies — especially those that could be used to engineer specific demographic balances within various roles — may place the tech giant on a collision course with the Trump administration. Shortly after taking office, Trump ordered the Department of Justice to <a href="https://www.justice.gov/ag/media/1388501/dl?inline">author a report</a> on actions that the federal agency could take to enforce civil rights law to “investigate, eliminate, and penalize illegal DEI and DEIA preferences, mandates, policies, programs, and activities in the private sector.”
Microsoft has already taken an oppositional posture against the administration and <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/investigations/3398418/microsoft-support-europe-hires-anti-trump-law-firm/">threatened to sue</a> it amid tariff negotiations between the United States and Europe.
The company’s 2023 DEI report appeared to indicate that Microsoft pays white employees <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/microsoft-brags-that-it-pays-white-employees-less-than-non-white-employees-despite-same-job-title">less than</a> non-white employees, often for performing the same job.
“All racial and ethnic minority groups who are rewards eligible combined earn $1.007 total pay for every $1.000 earned by US rewards-eligible white employees with the same job title and level and considering tenure,” the report said.
The company also maintains an “<a href="https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/inclusion-journey/library">inclusion journey library</a>” with videos on “allyship,” “inclusive perspectives,” and how to fight implicit bias. The library, Microsoft says, can be used for “re-learning past behaviors and approaches to constantly improve our self-awareness and adopt inclusive behaviors.”
Microsoft’s left-wing agenda has seeped out from its workplace and into its products. The company <a href="https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/games/articles/2024/06/xbox-pride-2024/#:~:text=Since%202019%2C%20Xbox%20and%20its,head%20over%20to%20Xbox%20Wire.">partnered</a> with the Trevor Project in 2019, an organization that advocates for child transgenderism, to create “more inclusive” video games.
In 2024, the company <a href="https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2024/05/31/xbox-pride-2024/">boasted</a> that one of its video games “allows players to romance and marry characters regardless of their gender,” while another “tells the story of Tyler, a transgender man, with sensitivity and depth.” A third “features openly LGBTQIA+ characters.”
The Trevor Project, which runs an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/schools-across-u-s-push-kids-to-chatrooms-where-they-can-talk-transgenderism-with-lgbtq-adults">online chat platform</a> where children can talk to adults about transgenderism and their sexual identity, is just one of the far-left LGBT organizations that Microsoft has bankrolled. The company and its employees have dropped more than $16 million to “organizations that support LGBTQIA+ communities.”
Hild says that it is time for the tech giant to drop its left-wing agenda.
“As if subjecting millions of people to Microsoft Teams wasn&#8217;t bad enough, the tech giant has become a megaphone for left-wing politics,” Hild said. “It’s time for Microsoft to get back to what&#8217;s made it successful — rolling out poorly conceived products, full of bugs, with annoying features no one wants, and using their monopoly status to force it on the world.”

Kid Rock credits President Donald Trump with helping to rid the nation of cancel culture, wokeness, and pervasive DEI initiatives.
The 54-year-old recording artist, who has been a fervent supporter of Trump for years, made the remarks while speaking with <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/kid-rock-hails-trump-dragon-slayer-battling-wokeness-cancel-culture">Fox News Digital</a> on Friday at his &#8220;Rock N Rodeo&#8221; event in Texas.
&#8220;I think wokeness and DEI and cancel culture is starting to exit the building, and we can thank President Trump for leading that charge once again. I call him the dragon slayer in that regard, &#8216;cuz he just came and slit the throat of DEI and wokeness,&#8221; Kid Rock told the outlet.
&#8220;There&#8217;s always gonna be cancel culture at some level, somebody getting butt sore about this, wants to protest and not buy a product or whatever. You know, me personally, I&#8217;m not into seeing people lose their jobs over some corporate decision that was made,” he continued, before referencing one of the most successful boycotts by conservatives in history.
&#8220;But sometimes there needs [to be] a little spanking there, like Bud Light had from me and some other people, but at the end of the day, we forgave them, said, ‘It&#8217;s all good. Let&#8217;s get back on track.’&#8221; 
The “Born Free” singer next described his vision for America. 
&#8220;I do think it&#8217;s exiting the building right now, and hopefully it stays gone, but we should be a merit-based system. The best and hardworking rises to the top. I don&#8217;t know how we got here, because to me, that&#8217;s just common sense, that&#8217;s just the ultimate, highest level of common sense that just the best and the hardest workers rise to the top. It doesn&#8217;t matter, anything else,&#8221; he told the outlet.
Kid Rock also called Trump the “greatest president ever.” 
&#8220;My thoughts on President Trump&#8217;s presidency: greatest president ever. I can sum it up like that. Not only because of our friendship and all the laughs we share on the golf course or hanging out at UFC fights or whatever it might be, but just the tenacity this man has. You know, the most resilient,&#8221; he said.
Just after the inauguration, Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, talked about a major shift in the entertainment industry as mainstream artists like Carrie Underwood and Snoop Dogg were willing to associate themselves with Trump.

Dove is at it again. The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/wokest-wash-around-heres-how-dove-has-pushed-woke-nonsense" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“woke” personal care company</a> was blasted on social media this week for appearing to use a male model to advertise women’s hair products.
In a six-second ad posted by Dove on Facebook in February, the model promotes the company’s “intensive repair” hair products, but social media users noticed that something was off.
“This is a real commercial by @Dove. Another woke company trying to erase women,” wrote Libs of TikTok.

Dove’s #RealMoms commercial showed Shea, a man, alongside his spouse and baby.

After Dove’s latest stunt, many people on social media said this was the last straw for them.

The popular HBO drama “The Last of Us” has been getting a lot of negative attention since Sunday night’s episode, in which one of the main female characters announced she was going to be a “dad.”
In the fourth episode of the second season, Ellie (Bella Ramsey) learns that her love interest Dina (Isabella Merced), who is portrayed as bisexual, is three months pregnant. After Dina reveals the news, Bella responds,  “So we’re having a baby… I mean, we and also I guess Jesse — it was Jesse, right?”
“So we’re all having a baby,” Ellie continued. “Holy sh**. I’m gonna be a dad.”
At another point in the episode, the two characters arrive in Seattle and ponder remnants of gay pride amongst the post-apocalyptic background, including pride flags and a giant rainbow mural. 
The reviews for this season, which saw the death of main character Joel (Pedro Pascal), have been mixed, and not just because of woke moments. Some have accused viewers of “review bombing” the show on various websites, but many critics are just underwhelmed by the pacing, character development, and straying from the storyline of the video game upon which the series is based.
&#8220;It&#8217;s the usual bait and switch. Season 1 was fantastic. Season 2 was all over within the first 10 mins. Woke bs from the start with Pascal going to therapy, females being more male than any of the men and the push for refugee rights. When are they going to stop pushing political agendas and write decent stories again?&#8221; one person <a href="https://www.metacritic.com/tv/the-last-of-us/season-2/">observed</a> on Metacritic. 
&#8220;The first season was good, and I can&#8217;t say the same for this season,” a second person agreed. “This is all teen drama with revenge plot, it&#8217;s so boring that I can&#8217;t turn off my brain to try to watch another episode. Killing off a beloved character for cheap reason is the final nail. This could be a good series but they clearly ruined it with bad writing. And don&#8217;t get me start on the agenda they try so hard to push but fail miserably.&#8221;
While fans say it made sense to make Ellie gay in the show to match the game, they say the showrunners&#8217; approach to the character is off the mark.
“I think people are missing that the way the show is going about this is not normal. At least in the game? Ellie being a lesbian wasn’t shoved in your face. It was natural. Like, ‘oh, she’s a lesbian? Okay. She’s still cool.’ But the show has Ellie being played by someone who looks nothing like her, even though they had options of actresses who did,” one X user <a href="https://x.com/BumpyBeatz/status/1920269455189516556">wrote</a>. 
“They consistently show Ellie being a judo bad*** when that’s not what she is? She’s a survivor. Even in the game? The melee animations show that she struggles and fights desperately. And now this? ‘Ima be a dad.’ This ain’t it. Just more ammo to be used against woke culture.”
Ramsey, 21, identifies as &#8220;non-binary&#8221; in real life, but has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/non-binary-actress-bella-ramsey-said-its-important-to-keep-gendered-awards-categories">said</a> she supports gendered categories for awards shows despite feeling it’s “not quite” right for her to be nominated for Best Actress.

The Justice Department this week slashed millions of dollars in grant funding for leftist organizations studying things like &#8220;toxic masculinity&#8221; and &#8220;systematic racism&#8221; as Attorney General Pam Bondi pushes to cut government waste, The Daily Wire has learned.
Before the cuts, which were described as &#8220;wave one,&#8221; millions of taxpayer dollars were going toward initiatives like filming black police officers in the name of racial equity, looking for ways to &#8220;resolve&#8221; drug crimes outside of the judicial system, and addressing so-called &#8220;toxic masculinity,&#8221; according to a list of several cut programs viewed by The Daily Wire. Teasing the cuts on Wednesday, Bondi <a href="https://x.com/AGPamBondi/status/1915184169069818356" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that there would be &#8220;more to come.&#8221;
The first wave included cuts to over 360 programs and grants that were determined not to be in line with President Donald Trump&#8217;s law and order agenda. According to the Justice Department, organizations whose funding was cut will have 30 days to win back their funding if they can prove it &#8220;actually helps victims of crime as opposed to being a nebulous slush fund for vague liberal causes.&#8221;
The Justice Department said programs that do things like provide housing to domestic violence victims and provide opioid treatment will not be cut.
One specific grant sent $1.5 million toward a training program that included the creation of a “powerful 17-minute film documenting the journey of three Black police leaders” to “promote racial equity in police practice.” Another $1.5 million was going to an organization for “culturally and linguistically specific, trauma-informed, and accessible services” for “former justice-involved individuals,&#8221; a euphemism used by leftists for criminals.
Another $1 million had been allocated to “bridge socio-ecological contexts” by working with “culturally specific community-based organizations,&#8221; while a whopping $5 million was going to an organization that promotes &#8220;racial equity in victim services&#8221; and hosts &#8220;listening sessions in targeted communities.&#8221;
Several of the cut programs dealt with drug crimes, including one that appeared oriented toward letting drug offenders off the hook. One million dollar grant went toward an organization that pushed &#8220;an innovative approach to resolving&#8221; drug crimes “away from the court system.”  Another sent $1 million to an organization looking at “how universal service delivery could mitigate the impact of systemic racism” on drug diversion programs.
Yet another grant on the chopping block was $2 million given to a &#8220;feminist, culturally specific nonprofit organization&#8221; to address “structural racism and toxic masculinities.”
These programs were flagged with the help of the Department of Government Efficiency, which is scouring the federal government for partisan programs and wasteful spending.
“Under Attorney General Bondi’s leadership, the Department of Justice is committed to ensuring its resources are spent on arresting criminals, getting drugs off the streets, and crucial litigation,&#8221; Justice Department spokesman Gates McGavick told The Daily Wire. &#8220;We will always protect victims of crime and legitimate law enforcement initiatives, but we will no longer spend millions on ‘listening sessions’ and  ‘bridging socio-ecological contexts.’”

According to The Washington Post, the Trump administration is pushing the Internal Revenue Service to revoke Harvard University’s tax-exempt status.
The Post <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2025/04/16/trump-harvard-tax-exempt-irs/">reported</a> that three sources informed the outlet that President Donald Trump&#8217;s administration had asked the IRS to make the move, although there is no confirmation that it has done so. WaPo also reported that its sources claimed Andrew De Mello, the IRS’s acting chief counsel, was asked by the Treasury Department to take the action. Sources also claimed this is part of a feud with Ivy League schools that the Trump administration views as &#8220;woke.&#8221;
“I think they’re going to go after a whole bunch of them,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R-GA) said. “I’m not sure why we need to be funding people who aggressively refuse to give up a variety of values and structures that most Americans don’t agree with.”
On Tuesday. President Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/114342374504628520">posted</a> on Truth Social, “Perhaps Harvard should lose its Tax Exempt Status and be Taxed as a Political Entity if it keeps pushing political, ideological, and terrorist inspired/supporting ‘Sickness?’ Remember, Tax Exempt Status is totally contingent on acting in the PUBLIC INTEREST!”
White House spokesperson Harrison Fields stated: &#8220;Any forthcoming actions by the IRS will be conducted independently of the president, and investigations into any institution’s violations of its tax status were initiated prior to the president’s TRUTH.”
In January 2024, Rep. Jason T. Smith (R-MO), chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2024/01/10/jason-smith-harvard-mit-penn-might-not-deserve-tax-exemption-00134815" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suggested</a> that the responses of Harvard, Cornell, the University of Pennsylvania, and MIT to the antisemitism on their campuses might justify revoking their tax-exempt status. The college’s actions “raise several questions, including whether your institutions are fulfilling their educational purposes as required to receive 501c3 tax-exempt status &#8230;”
On Monday, the Trump administration’s Department of Education announced it would freeze $2.2 billion in multi-year grants and $60 million in multi-year contract value to Harvard University after the school said it would not comply with the Trump administration’s demand that the university <a href="https://www.harvard.edu/research-funding/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2025/04/Harvard-Response-2025-04-14.pdf">claimed</a> would “invade university freedoms.”
Last Friday, the Departments of Education and Health and Human Services sent a <a href="https://www.harvard.edu/research-funding/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2025/04/Letter-Sent-to-Harvard-2025-04-11.pdf">letter</a> to Harvard in which they stated, “By August 2025, the University must adopt and implement merit-based hiring policies, and cease all preferences based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin …” adding that the same attitude must prevail in admissions policies. The correspondence also declared that by the same date, the university must “prevent admitting students hostile to the American values and institutions inscribed in the American Constitution and Declaration of Independence, including students supportive of terrorism and anti-Semitism.”
The university “shall commission an external party … to audit the student body, faculty and leadership for viewpoint diversity” by August 2025, the letter continued, in order to ensure that the leftist perspective that dominates the university should be contrasted with other viewpoints.

Conservative activist Robby Starbuck is joining the Heritage Foundation as a visiting fellow, where he’ll lead an effort encouraging corporations to drop left-wing ideologies, and instead, prioritize merit.
Starbuck, who has led successful <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pure-lunacy-robby-starbuck-on-exposing-dei-in-corporate-america">campaigns</a> to get corporations like Tractor Supply, Home Depot, Harley Davidson, John Deere, Jack Daniels, and even Walmart to ditch the left-wing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) agenda, explained how he will continue the fight at the Heritage Foundation.
“I am thrilled to join The Heritage Foundation to help lead the charge in pushing back against the dangerous rise of woke DEI and ESG policies that undermine American values,” Starbuck said. “These harmful initiatives have no place in our businesses or institutions, and I’m committed to advancing policies that prioritize merit, free enterprise, and individual freedom over divisive ideologies.&#8221;
Starbuck will lead Heritage’s capital markets initiative, which the organization says will be dedicated to encouraging aligned organizations to reshape corporate America, encouraging corporations to prioritize ethics and merit while dropping left-wing ideologies like DEI.
“It’s time to restore common sense and accountability to the workplace, and I’m excited to continue to lead that movement from Heritage,” the conservative activist added.
Andrew Olivastro, the Heritage Foundation’s chief advancement officer, celebrated the announcement that Starbuck is joining the conservative organization. “Robby Starbuck is a trailblazer for our times, and we are thrilled he is joining us at Heritage. Robby has played a leading role helping Americans find their voice and reclaim their rights as shareowners, employees, and customers,” Olivastro said. “Our combined efforts will both set the agenda for the business community and save the private sector for future prosperity.&#8221;
John Backiel, vice president of finance and accounting at Heritage, also celebrated Starbuck’s move and further explained the goals of the effort.
“Heritage is leaning into the coalition of organizations, businesses, and individuals who desire to put their capital to work as a force multiplier by investing in companies and organizations building a better American future,” Backiel noted. “Through our corporate engagement we will help bring an end to corporate progressive indoctrination of the workforce and engage in constructive dialogue that rewards good businesses and products.&#8221;

Leftists are staging a dramatic 24-hour boycott of big-name corporations today, raging against the rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

DEI’s demise has them so riled up that they’ll skip lattes and Big Macs to flex their “power.”  
“Disrupting the economy for even one day sends a powerful message,” the flyer states. “If they don’t listen we make the next blackout longer. Our numbers are powerful. This is how we make history!” 
One of the leftists pushing for a boycott today is John Schwarz, who goes by the name “TheOneCalledJai” on Instagram, told <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2025/02/26/feb-28-economic-blackout-what-to-know/80066188007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">USA Today</a> that the time was right for a boycott because people are frustrated with corporate greed among other issues. Apparently it’s frustrating that some companies are backing away from race-centered hiring and business practices. 
Other boycotts are being organized by Rev. Al Sharpton, who said earlier this week that his organization, National Action Network, will look to walk out on other companies in the near future. 
“We have convened a council with our partners to examine what companies have reneged on DEI, what their profit margins are, and how we can use Black buying power to make a statement,” Sharpton <a href="https://x.com/TheRevAl/status/1894522805862973710" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.

Activist and reporter Chris Rufo joined &#8220;The Ben Shapiro Show&#8221; to expose agents within the National Security Agency for insulting conservatives like Ben Shapiro in leaked government documents.
Members of one of the most powerful intelligence agencies in the world openly displayed their bias against conservatives in messages uncovered by Rufo, who said that the NSA agents “have vitriolic feelings against conservatives.”
“Any Jew who says Judeo-Christian without any irony as much as Ben Shapiro does should be expelled from the tribe,” one NSA agent said of the Daily Wire host and Editor Emeritus, with another writing: “I [am] for expelling Ben too.”

Yet another followed up, writing, “I’m Irish- and Italian-American, so I’m used to sharing my ethnicity with terrible people.” One agent responded: “it’s a little different for Jews. Ben is like having a relative who constantly spouts hate speech in public.”
NSA agents also called Chaiya Raichik, who runs the popular X account LibsofTikTok, a “f***ing monster” and celebrated when her account was temporarily suspended off of X, which was still Twitter at the time.
The revelation comes after Rufo highlighted NSA agents’ explicit sexual conversations that they also had on the government platform, including <a href="https://x.com/realchrisrufo/status/1894454218083426413">one exchange</a> in which intelligence officials pondered how a baby could be raised without gender in order to advance transgender ideology.
“An intersex birth would be a great opportunity to raise a kid as [non-binary] and let them choose later,” one NSA agent wrote.
Other agents within the NSA, CIA, and Defense Intelligence Agency <a href="https://x.com/realchrisrufo/status/1894064757142937904">discussed</a> “ethical non-monogamy,” a “polycule,” male-to-female sex change operations, and their sexual fetishes.
The Office of the Director of National Intelligence published one diversity newsletter <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bidens-top-intelligence-agency-says-crossdressing-makes-man-better-intelligence-officer-internal-docs-show">obtained by The Daily Wire</a> in which one official said that crossdressing made him a “better intelligence officer.”
“I think my experiences as someone who crossdresses have sharpened the skills I use as an intelligence officer,” the anonymous intelligence officer wrote, going on to say he is now “more aware of, and hopefully more supportive of, my women colleagues.”
The Daily Wire previously revealed that the NSA created a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-leaked-nsa-doc-reveals-massive-woke-glossary-pushing-critical-race-theory-gender-ideology-on-govt-employees">34-page diversity glossary</a> that included terms like “white fragility,” “settler colonialism,” “transmisogyny,” “queer theory,” and even the so-called gender neutral pronouns of “ze” and “zir.”

Sunny Hostin claimed on Monday that it was &#8220;un-Godly&#8221; and &#8220;not Christian&#8221; to oppose woke culture, arguing that people who did so only proved that they did not care about their neighbors.
Hostin and &#8220;The View&#8221; cohost Whoopi Goldberg discussed their own personal histories, saying that because they had always been around people who were fighting for things like Civil Rights and other issues, they had &#8220;never been asleep.&#8221;
&#8220;I thought about the conversations that you and I have had, Whoopi, so many times about the co-opting of the word &#8216;woke,'&#8221; Hostin began. &#8220;And the fact that the right somehow has made it a dirty word.&#8221;
&#8220;To be woke is a word that came out of the African American community and it was about being — acknowledging social justice inequities, acknowledging people&#8217;s suffering,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;It&#8217;s not a bad thing to care about other people, to care about the sufferings of others, and to act upon it.&#8221;
&#8220;And so Whoopi will often tell me, &#8216;I&#8217;ve never been asleep,'&#8221; she added. &#8220;And that&#8217;s how I feel &#8230; so it angers me when people are like, &#8216;This woke stuff gotta go.&#8217; That&#8217;s telling me that you don&#8217;t care about my lived experience, you don&#8217;t care about the oppression of the LGBTQ community, you don&#8217;t care about the oppression of the disabled, you don&#8217;t care about the oppression of immigrants, you don&#8217;t care about your fellow neighbors — and that is un-Godly, that is not Christian.&#8221;

Activist and actress Jane Fonda is trying to rebrand the word “woke,” insisting it’s not a negative descriptor. 
The 87-year-old made her plea during her speech at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday night after being honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award.
&#8220;This means the world to me,&#8221; Fonda said. &#8220;And your enthusiasm makes it seem less like a late twilight of my life and more like a &#8216;Go, girl. Kick ass,&#8217; which is good because I&#8217;m not done.&#8221;
After discussing her love of acting, the leftist, sometimes called “Hanoi Jane” referencing her 1972 visit to North Vietnam, started spouting off her opinions on current events, saying at one point, “Make no mistake, empathy is not weak or &#8216;woke.&#8217; And by the way, &#8216;woke&#8217; just means you give a damn about other people. Back to empathy.”
Critics on social media hit back, saying Fonda, of all people, should think about her words. “Hey Hanoi Jane, did you &#8216;give a damn&#8217; about the American servicemen you betrayed in Vietnam? Woke is just communist propaganda, so I&#8217;m not surprised that Jane proudly identifies with it,” one person <a href="https://x.com/scarlett4kids/status/1893888851627651238">wrote</a>. 
&#8220;I&#8217;m a big believer in unions. They have our backs,&#8221; the star said during her lengthy <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/movies/2025/02/23/jane-fonda-sag-awards-speech-trump/79899116007/">speech</a>. &#8220;Community means power, and this is really important right now when workers&#8217; power is being attacked, and community is being weakened.&#8221;
“But SAG-AFTRA is different than most other unions because us the workers, we actors, we don&#8217;t manufacture anything tangible. What we create is empathy. Our job is to understand another human being so profoundly that we can touch their souls. We know why they do what they do. We feel their joy and their pain.”
Fonda continued by criticizing President Donald Trump without saying his name. 
“And I&#8217;m sure many of you guys have played bullies and misogynists, and you can pretty much know that probably their father bullied them and called men that he felt were weak &#8216;losers&#8217; … And while you may hate the behavior of your character, you have to understand and empathize with the traumatized person you&#8217;re playing, right? I&#8217;m thinking Sebastian Stan in &#8216;The Apprentice,&#8217;” she said, referring to the actor who played Donald Trump in the 2024 movie. 
“I made my first movie in 1958. It was at the tail end of McCarthyism, when so many careers were destroyed,” Fonda went on. “Today, it’s helpful to remember, though, that Hollywood resisted.”
She then asked the crowd: “Have any of you ever watched a documentary of one of the great social movements — apartheid or civil rights or Stonewall — and ask yourself, would you have been brave enough to walk the bridge? We don’t have to wonder anymore. We are in our documentary moment. This is it, and it’s not a rehearsal!”
Fonda concluded her speech by telling the audience, “There will still be love, there will still be beauty, and there will be an ocean of truth for us to swim in.”

A medical watchdog says that the Cleveland Clinic is taking hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding while pushing race-based programs and policies.
Do No Harm, an organization dedicated to depoliticizing medicine, reported Monday that the Ohio clinic is engaged in a range of “discriminatory behavior.” This behavior includes recruitment strategies explicitly for minorities, minority-exclusive scholarships, and adopting “supplier diversity” policies. 
“The Cleveland Clinic used to be synonymous with excellence,” Do No Harm Director of Research Ian Kingsbury told The Daily Wire. “Now, it’s becoming an avatar for everything that is wrong with American health care. It’s a sorry tale about the displacement of rigor and dispassionate truth seeking in favor of identity politics.”
According to analysis from Do No Harm, the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine is currently the recipient of around $170 million in <a href="https://reporter.nih.gov/search/kibuq7GWB06JcSYdkf2zpA/projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">active grant funding</a> from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Around $50 million of this goes toward “indirect” costs while the Cleveland Clinic Foundation has over $5 million in <a href="https://reporter.nih.gov/search/4-9dnUYGF0OnO697kttYaA/projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">active projects</a> from the NIH, according to Do No Harm. 
The clinic has also pushed a number of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. 
One of the examples cited by Do No Harm included a July 2020 $1.2 million five year <a href="https://archive.ph/LaqAT#selection-423.109-423.130" target="_blank" rel="noopener">grant</a> given to the Cleveland Clinic and Cleveland State University with the goal of increasing the “number of minority scientists in Cleveland area.”
The goal was to recruit “underrepresented minority Ph.D. students and students underrepresented in the science and technology workforce,” and which NIH <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20200627052807/https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-20-031.html">defined </a>at the time as “Blacks or African Americans, Hispanics or Latinos, American Indians or Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders.” This excluded both whites and Asians. 
“In other words, the NIH grant empowered Cleveland Clinic to engage in racially discriminatory recruiting practices,” Do No Harm said of the program. “It’s no wonder, then, that Cleveland Clinic has embraced wholesale the race-centric DEI agenda.”
The clinic told The Daily Wire that it does not discriminate based on race or gender.
&#8220;For over 100 years, Cleveland Clinic’s mission has been to care for life, research for health and educate those who serve. We do not discriminate or create preferences based on race, gender or any other characteristics, and we abide by ethical and legal standards of care with respect to our delivery of healthcare services,&#8221; the clinic said. &#8220;Cleveland Clinic is a nonpartisan organization and we neither have nor promote a political agenda.&#8221;
Do No Harm also drew attention to the clinic&#8217;s Howley ASPIRE nursing program, an initiative designed for high school juniors interested in nursing. While the program description does not mention race, promotional materials produced indicate it was designed specifically for minorities. 
“In providing these opportunities, ASPIRE seeks to address the underrepresentation of racial and ethnic minorities in nursing. More than 30 percent of the U.S. population is Black/African-American or Hispanic/Latino, according to the Census Bureau — yet less than 13% of nurses fall into those categories,” an <a href="https://magazine.clevelandclinic.org/2020-fall/aiming-high" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> in the Cleveland Clinic Magazine for the fall of 2020 says. 
Another example was the “Scholarship for Underrepresented Students” at the Anesthesiology Residency program at Cleveland Clinic. This opportunity, which was advertised as for &#8220;underrepresented&#8221; students, has been removed from the <a href="https://my.clevelandclinic.org/departments/anesthesiology/medical-professionals/clerkships" target="_blank" rel="noopener">clinic’s website</a> though it can still be found on <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20240915095020/https://my.clevelandclinic.org/departments/anesthesiology/medical-professionals/clerkships" target="_blank" rel="noopener">archived</a> pages. 
Do No Harm also pointed out that the Cleveland Clinic has implemented “supplier diversity” goals which <a href="https://www.clevelandclinic.org/total-rewards/8_69_Diversity%20Fact%20Sheet.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">are meant</a> to “increase the number of underrepresented vendors doing business with Cleveland Clinic.”
“Do No Harm welcomes additional scrutiny of bad actors like Cleveland Clinic who use their position to inject harmful and radical ideologies into the medical field,” the organization said in its analysis. “These discriminatory practices must be exposed and condemned in order for excellence in medicine to be restored, and for merit (and not race) to be championed.”
The clinic previously came under scrutiny from Do No Harm over DEI-related programming. 
In September, the Department of Health and Human Services’s Office of Civil Rights <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/feds-investigating-after-cleveland-clinic-accused-of-treating-white-individuals-differently" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> that it was investigating the Cleveland Clinic over its promotion of its “Minority Stroke Program” and the “Minority Men’s Health Center.” That investigation came after the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) filed a complaint with the department on behalf of Do No Harm. 
In recent weeks, the conservative group Consumers’ Research has also been engaged in a public campaign against the Cleveland Clinic, saying that it has pushed racial and gender ideologies. Consumers’ Research Executive Director Will Held told The Daily Wire that the federal funding going toward the clinic needed to be scrutinized. 
“Revelations like this are exactly why President Trump&#8217;s executive action against DEI is so important,” he said. “HHS has a duty and obligation to investigate the full extent of the federal government&#8217;s funding of Cleveland Clinic. American taxpayers have a right to know if their money is being used to fund an extreme political agenda that includes racial discrimination and the mutilation of vulnerable children&#8217;s bodies.&#8221;
The clinic responded to the campaign by saying that it is &#8220;riddled with inaccuracies and lies.&#8221;
President Donald Trump issued an <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/ending-radical-and-wasteful-government-dei-programs-and-preferencing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">executive order</a> on his first day in office eliminating DEI from the federal government and cutting federal funding for DEI programs.
The Cleveland Clinic told The Daily Wire that it was &#8220;reviewing and evaluating our programs following the recent executive orders.&#8221;
