Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/matt-gaetz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Matt Gaetz</a> (R-FL) is pushing for the House to get involved in a lawsuit filed by first son <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a>&#8216;s lawyers <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-sues-irs-over-whistleblower-leaks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">against</a> the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) over <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/whistleblower" target="_blank" rel="noopener">whistleblower</a> disclosures.
A <a href="https://gaetz.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/gaetz.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/Johnson%20IRS%20letter%20FINAL.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> Gaetz sent on Wednesday urges Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Johnson</a> (R-LA) to task the House Office of General Counsel to intervene in the case to defend the IRS agents who raised concerns about the federal inquiry into Biden.
&#8220;Due to federal law, this is the only available action of Hunter Biden and the Democrats to silence the I.R.S. whistleblowers who have so bravely come forward with details of Hunter Biden’s tax fraud,&#8221; Gaetz wrote.
&#8220;The interests of the House of Representatives and the legal rights of our whistleblowers are not being zealously defended by the United States Department of Justice (DOJ), who is defending the lawsuit on behalf of the I.R.S.,&#8221; he added.
Biden&#8217;s lawsuit, filed in September, accused IRS investigators <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ex-fbi-agent-says-irs-whistleblower-was-right-bidens-were-tipped-off-during-investigation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler</a> of working to <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/joe-biden/hunter-biden-files-lawsuit-irs-alleging-unlawful-release-tax-informati-rcna105557" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;embarrass and inflict harm&#8221;</a> on him with the disclosure of confidential taxpayer information and violating the law.
ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/doj-moves-dismiss-lawsuit-filed-hunter-biden-irs/story?id=106425515" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> in January the Justice Department moved to dismiss the case. Shapley&#8217;s legal team <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/US/hunter-biden-sues-irs-whistleblowers-criticized-doj-probe/story?id=102112021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">denied</a> improper disclosures beyond what is allowed in statutes governing whistleblowers.
&#8220;We should be doing everything we can to protect these brave whistleblowers,&#8221; Gaetz said in his letter to Johnson. Gaetz requested the speaker &#8220;task the House Office of General Counsel with moving to intervene in Biden v. IRS to protect the prerogatives of the House of Representatives and to protect the rights of all Americans to make protected disclosures to Congress.&#8221;
Attached to his letter, Gaetz said, was the complaint filed by Biden, as well as the partial motion to dismiss of the DOJ.
&#8220;A cursory read of these materials should make clear to the House Office of General Counsel that the rights of the House are implicated in this case and not being adequately represented to the Court by the DOJ,&#8221; Gaetz said.
&#8220;To give but [one] example among many: the complaint takes an extremely narrow read of Internal Revenue Code § 6103’s whistleblower provisions, a read which DOJ does not contest,&#8221; he added.
&#8220;The House clearly has an interest in the broadest possible read of the subject matter that an individual may properly disclose to committees of Congress,&#8221; Gaetz concluded.
Biden is facing criminal indictments that branched out of the investigation led by special counsel David Weiss rocked by the whistleblower allegations last year. He has pleaded not guilty to federal gun and tax charges.
The first son also participated in a closed-door <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/comer-eyes-public-hearing-with-hunter-biden-to-address-discrepancies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">deposition</a> with House investigators last month as part of an impeachment inquiry into his father, President Joe Biden, but <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impeachment-witness-tony-bobulinski-claims-hunter-and-james-biden-perjured-themselves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">declined to show up</a> for a public hearing last week.

Daily Wire Editor Emeritus Ben Shapiro interviewed Dr. Eithan Haim, the whistleblower for the bombshell story about secretive transgender surgeries for minors at the Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital, who was hit with targeted harassment by the Biden administration’s Department of Justice.
As The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/a-doctor-blew-the-whistle-on-his-hospitals-transgender-clinic-now-the-feds-are-trying-to-ruin-his-life">reported</a>, Haim said for him the story all started in September 2022, when he saw The Daily Wire’s <a href="https://twitter.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1572313369528635392">investigation</a> of Vanderbilt University’s transgender clinic, where so-called “gender-affirming” care for minors was described as a “big money maker” and irreversible treatments such as double mastectomies were being performed on children.&#8221;
He then learned that the hospital where he was a resident, Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital, was engaging in similar scandalous behavior.
“I reached this unavoidable conclusion that Texas Children’s Hospital is providing this outward appearance that they shut down the program, when in actuality, within the hospital, it’s a very high priority,” Haim told The Daily Wire. “I start realizing how blatant this is, how unethical it is, and how they’re lying to the public.”
“So why don&#8217;t we start from the beginning?” Shapiro prompted. “How did you find out what was going on at Texas Children&#8217;s? And then what exactly did you report? Because they&#8217;re claiming that you&#8217;re violating HIPPA or something.”
“They started because I was a surgical resident working at Texas Children&#8217;s Hospital, and I had heard that they were doing these procedures,” Haim answered. “But in March of 2022, they had released a statement unequivocally stating they were shutting down their program because of the legal risk. And, you know, at first I thought this was a huge relief. But I quickly found out this was completely untrue. And the reason I knew that is because I worked there. I did surgery there. The people who are doing their procedures had told me about it and the fact that they were putting on this front to the public, saying that they were no longer doing it while ramping up the program behind closed doors, doing these procedures more frequently, increasing the scope of the clinic and giving the directors of the program the opportunity to speak at the hospital&#8217;s most prestigious lecture series, something called Carry Around.”
“I saw that it was a priority for the hospital, why they were deceiving the public about whether it even existed and the fact that this was happening at the largest children&#8217;s hospital; I knew that it was an individual responsibility to do something about it, also a professional responsibility as a surgeon to make this known,” he recalled.
“You know that the attempt to investigate (me) is really the attempt to silence whistleblowers, because we know this is happening in other hospitals across the country,” Haim continued. “And if they can do this to me, they&#8217;re going to do it to other people who are in the same situation because people know this is happening and they just want to keep people silent. So that&#8217;s why we decided to come out publicly.”
“What we have learned over the past couple of months and the conclusions that I was able to make is that this investigation is being pursued for political reasons,” Haim asserted. “If I&#8217;m placed in this situation, the best possible thing I can do is tell the truth, because if that&#8217;s out there, you can allow people to know what truly happened and to see the true side of the story and how these federal agencies and certain segments of the justice system is being weaponized in order to go after whistleblowers like me.”
“This is obviously a part of the larger puzzle in which the DOJ appears under the Biden administration to be moving to silence people reporting about this sort of stuff,” Shapiro commented. “Because in the past, when people, for example, at Daily Wire have reported on what was going on at Vanderbilt, for example, this turned into a broad media and governmental campaign to target journalists who were covering this sort of stuff. &#8230; They&#8217;re siccing their DOJ on people who are reporting information that they don&#8217;t want out in the public view.”
“In order to prevent scrutiny of these programs, they are passing these regulations, passing these laws, and these federal bureaucracies, that will prevent that accountability from taking place,” Haim said. “Because if there&#8217;s one principle in medicine, in surgery, is that anything you&#8217;re doing in the hospital to a patient you should have no problem talking about and defending in public. If you&#8217;re doing something and you want to keep it from the public it’s very, very likely you&#8217;re doing something wrong.”
“This demonstrates what the White House and the DOJ are willing to do in order to silence people who are reporting the truth on this sort of stuff,” Shapiro concluded.

The legislation, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/schumer-moves-to-force-disclosure-of-ufo-secrets" target="_blank" rel="noopener">offered as an amendment</a> to the fiscal 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), sought to set in motion a process for releasing UAP-related records within 25 years of their creation and put together an independent review board to advise the president on whether to keep certain information concealed for national security or other serious reasons.
From <a href="https://sherrill.house.gov/media/press-releases/photo-on-ndaa-conference-committee-sherrill-pushes-for-bipartisan-efforts-to-strengthen-us-national-security-and-protect-service-members" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the conference process</a>, in which negotiators worked to reconcile the House and Senate versions of the NDAA, <a href="https://docs.house.gov/billsthisweek/20231211/FY24%20NDAA%20Conference%20Report%20-%20%20FINAL.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">came a report</a> that stripped out language calling for a independent review board and other provisions such as eminent domain authority and a &#8220;controlled&#8221; disclosure process, instead leaving it to the National Archives to collect UAP documents from across the government while giving federal agencies room to keep them secret.
Grusch offered a different route toward transparency, saying, &#8220;We need to advocate for the Executive Branch, you know, the office of the president through executive action to instate such a body to advise him on the best course of action.&#8221;
But, acknowledging a &#8220;mixed bag of success,&#8221; Grusch also praised lawmakers for advancing some transparency-minded language in the NDAA, in particular a section in the conference report that restricts funds to special-access programs that have not been reported to specific committees in Congress and congressional leadership.
Grusch emerged publicly in June when <a href="https://thedebrief.org/intelligence-officials-say-u-s-has-retrieved-non-human-craft/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Debrief broke the story</a> about his allegations of a multi-decade retrieval and reverse-engineering program being illegally kept from Congress and government watchdog investigations into his findings and claims of whistleblower retaliation.
After testifying before Congress in July, during a hearing in which he claimed “non-human” biologics have been recovered from UFO crash sites and spoke about what he learned from 40 witnesses he interviewed while part of a UAP task force, Grusch has faced some skepticism, including from House Intelligence Committee Chairman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ufo-whistleblower-claims-firsthand-access-to-things-he-cant-talk-about-publicly" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Turner</a> (R-OH) — who was also critical of <a href="https://twitter.com/JoeKhalilTV/status/1729941909097824287" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Schumer&#8217;s disclosure legislation</a>.
Grusch told NewsNation that he still faces restraints in what he can divulge to the public but plans to &#8220;generally&#8221; discuss some of his first-hand knowledge in the near future that he was not previously at liberty to acknowledge.
&#8220;I couldn&#8217;t be very up front about my first-hand knowledge until recently. I got some other security approvals through the Prepublication and Security Review process and I did have some first-hand knowledge of some specific parts of the program,&#8221; Grusch said. &#8220;I&#8217;m currently drafting an op-ed that I&#8217;m going to release in a few weeks and I will be discussing what I actually do know first-hand.&#8221;

Federal authorities on Monday <a href="https://www.insider.com/fbi-raid-rudy-giuliani-johnathan-buma-donald-trump-classified-2023-11" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> raided the California home of one of the FBI&#8217;s own special agents — who alleged Russian intelligence agents may have &#8220;compromised&#8221; Rudy Giuliani while he was working as the lawyer for former President Donald Trump.
A search warrant — reported on by Business Insider — states that authorities searched the Orange County home of FBI Special Agent Jonathan Buma on suspicion that he violated federal laws against mishandling classified information. A receipt for property seized under the search warrant reportedly included &#8220;classified material&#8221; and &#8220;possible classified material&#8221; among the confiscated items.
Scott Horton, an attorney for Buma, denied the allegations and the property receipt as false. He said authorities seized computers and other items at the residence. Business Insider reported the property listed included nine laptops, three smartwatches, six tablets, two phones, and one desktop computer — most of which Horton said belonged to Buma&#8217;s wife and their children.
&#8220;There was no classified information found by the raid,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I know that from talking to my client.&#8221;
Horton said authorities discovered his client&#8217;s unclassified whistleblower complaint.
Buma, a 15-year FBI agent specializing in counter-intelligence investigations, filed protected whistleblower disclosures in July to the Senate Judiciary Committee, claiming bureau mismanagement and retaliation.
He alleged the agency ordered him not to investigate Trump&#8217;s associates and shut down his most valuable confidential human sources. The 22-page disclosure also indicated Giuliani had been compromised by Russian intelligence as part of an attempt to help Trump by discrediting President Joe Biden.
Newsweek <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/fbi-raids-home-trump-whistleblower-johnathan-buma-1843737" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that Buma said in his letter to Senate lawmakers that anonymous people within the bureau targeted him with retaliation by assigning him to &#8220;surveillance missions&#8221; unrelated to his post after he discovered an alleged relationship between Giuliani and Russian intelligence.
&#8220;I do not fully understand why I have been singled out for this treatment nor who exactly is driving it,&#8221; Buma wrote. &#8220;But my strong suspicion is that one or more of my sources provided truthful, accurate information that is harmful to a person or persons that higher ups in the Bureau are trying to shield.&#8221;
Horton said the raid was &#8220;designed to be in retaliation for the whistleblower complaints&#8221; and called the bureau&#8217;s search &#8220;very heavy harassment.&#8221;
&#8220;They deployed the level of personnel that would be customary for a major mafia figure for a single active-duty FBI agent suspected of having cooperated with a congressional investigation,&#8221; Horton told Business Insider. &#8220;That is his offense. This continues to raise grave concerns about how the bureau&#8217;s counter-intelligence activities targeting the Russian intelligence services are undermined by political shenanigans on the part of senior bureau management.&#8221;
The FBI has not issued a public comment and has reportedly previously declined to comment on Buma&#8217;s allegations.

&#8220;This would take thousands and thousands of people for such an unbelievable cover-up to be occurring,&#8221; House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ufo-whistleblower-claims-firsthand-access-to-things-he-cant-talk-about-publicly">said</a> in a Fox News interview. &#8220;And for people to speak with such confidence over something that they do not know is, I think, something certainly everybody needs to be concerned about.&#8221;
Still, lawmakers have been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/house-uap-caucus-launched-members-send-letter-to-intel-community-inspector-general-seeking-answers">pushing for more transparency</a> ever since the hearing, prompting <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/uap-caucus-denied-select-committee-disclosure-act-being-debated-in-house">a letter to the UAP Caucus</a> from Intelligence Community Inspector General Thomas Monheim that said his office “has not conducted any audit, inspection, evaluation, or review of alleged UAP programs within the responsibility and authority of the DNI [Director of National Intelligence] that would enable this office to provide a fulsome response to your questions.”

The Department of Defense set up the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) to investigate UAP reports. AARO&#8217;s director, Sean Kirkpatrick, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/10/18/politics/us-ufo-reports-pentagon/index.html">told CNN</a> in a Wednesday report that he has &#8220;no evidence that suggests anything extraterrestrial in nature,&#8221; but he encouraged anyone who might have information to contact his team.
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN), who has been a leader in pushing for Congress to get more access to secret UFO information, <a href="https://twitter.com/i/status/1714471639591669939">told News Nation</a> that he expects the classified briefings to take place by Christmas, though he suggested the plan might be in flux as the House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jim-jordan-loses-ground-in-second-house-speaker-vote-loss">struggles to fill its speaker vacuum</a>, among other issues.
“I’ll believe it when I see everything. They’re scrambling right now. They’re nervous, and they should be,” Burchett said, adding that people at the Pentagon &#8220;should be&#8221; nervous.

Lawmakers Expect To Get Classified Briefings On UFOs

IRS public affairs officer Justin Cole reportedly took a call from <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cnn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a> two years ago, during which he was informed the network had an email from Hunter Biden claiming that he expected his legal troubles to &#8220;go away&#8221; once his father became president.
The House Ways and Means Committee released a series of documents on Thursday, all pertaining to Hunter Biden&#8217;s efforts to sell the Biden family &#8220;brand&#8221; and tying President Joe Biden to his son&#8217;s business dealings.
&#8220;Documents show Hunter Biden and his business associates had access to the White House and Joe Biden’s advisors; Biden business associates were instructed to not ‘mention Joe being involved’; and official trips to Ukraine line up U.S. government actions and Hunter Biden’s financial bottom line. And, after the IRS began investigating these crimes, Hunter apparently &#8216;expected all of this &#8216;stuff&#8217; to go away when his dad becomes President,'&#8221; the committee wrote in a <a href="https://waysandmeans.house.gov/bombshell-ways-and-means-releases-new-documents-revealing-hunter-biden-selling-access-to-white-house-investigators-blocked-from-pursuing-evidence-related-to-president-biden/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">press release</a>.
According to the document released by the committee on Thursday, Cole sent an email to two of the IRS agents investigating Hunter Biden on September 22, 2021, and detailed what he had learned from a CNN producer.

After news broke that President Biden’s son Hunter had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-sues-irs-over-whistleblower-leaks" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed a lawsuit</a> against the IRS, IRS Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley’s legal team issued a statement condemning the action.
Biden filed the lawsuit claiming that IRS agents Gary Shapley and Joseph Ziegler revealed confidential information about his taxes in public interviews and statements.
“This suit against the IRS is just another frivolous smear by Biden family attorneys trying to turn people’s attention away from Hunter Biden’s own legal problems and intimidate any current and future whistleblowers,” the attorneys for Shapley <a href="https://www.newsweek.com/hunter-biden-sues-irs-faces-backlash-1827848" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>.
“The federal judge in Delaware who oversaw the aborted plea deal shot down similar claims against the whistleblowers after they exposed the secret backroom deal between Hunter Biden and the Department of Justice,” they continued, referring to Federal District Court Judge Maryellen Noreika, who put a plea deal between Hunter Biden’s lawyers and the Department of Justice on hold after expressing her concern about the extent of immunity being offered to Hunter Biden.
“Neither IRS SSA Gary Shapley nor his attorneys have ever released any confidential taxpayer information except through whistleblower disclosures authorized by statute. Once Congress released that testimony, like every American citizen, he has a right to discuss that public information,” they <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hunter-biden-irs-lawsuit-alleging-privacy-violations/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted</a>.
Shapley and Joseph Ziegler spoke before Congress to expose what they said was a double standard in the way the IRS and Department of Justice had handled the investigation into Hunter Biden. The whistleblowers said they were blocked from pursuing lines of questioning that had the potential of implicating Joe Biden, adding that Hunter Biden was given favorable treatment, Including warnings ahead of certain investigative actions.
“This assault on Mr. Biden’s rights involved the public disclosure of his confidential tax information during more than 20 nationally televised and non-congressionally sanctioned interviews and numerous public statements,” the lawsuit says, according to <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2023/09/18/hunter-biden-lawsuit-irs/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post</a>.
The whistleblower made “detailed allegations regarding the specific tax years under investigation, the amounts of deductions, the nature of those deductions, and allegations of liability regarding specific tax years and the amount thereof, that could only be known to them based on a review of the physical tax returns themselves,” the lawsuit says.

IRS supervisory special agent Gary Shapley wrote down that Delaware&#8217;s U.S. Attorney David Weiss stated in an October 2022 meeting that he was &#8220;not the deciding person&#8221; when it came to bringing charges in the case, as shown in a document obtained and <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/671103439/Shapley-notes#fullscreen=1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published</a> by <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hunter-biden-see-irs-whistleblower-gary-shapleys-handwritten-notes-meeting/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CBS News</a>.
Shapley&#8217;s attorneys <a href="https://empowr.us/shapley-attorneys-provide-hand-written-notes-to-house-committees-regarding-weiss-meeting/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> to the leaders of the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday declaring that they were sharing an unredacted copy of the notes in response to a <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/09/12/hunter-biden-fbi-transcript-weiss-sobocinski/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Washington Post report</a> that revealed Thomas Sobocinski, a senior FBI agent also involved in the Biden inquiry, told the congressional panel that he left the same October 2022 meeting believing that Weiss did have the authority to bring charges.
&#8220;According to the Washington Post story, Mr. Sobocinski reportedly failed to recall in his interview with Committee staff certain details of the meeting recorded in SSA Shapley’s email,&#8221; attorneys Tristan Leavitt and Mark Lytle said in their letter.
&#8220;However, Mr. Sobocinski apparently acknowledged that he took no notes in the meeting, nor did he document it in any contemporaneous fashion afterwards,&#8221; they added. &#8220;By contrast, SSA Shapley took notes during the meeting. These notes, combined with his fresh memory of the meeting, formed the basis for the email he sent later that day and corroborate his current recollection.&#8221;
Shapley&#8217;s email correspondence was previously given to the House Ways and Means Committee and then <a href="https://twitter.com/JsnFostr/status/1672223928561926144" target="_blank" rel="noopener">disclosed</a> to the public. Similar to his handwritten notes, Shapley&#8217;s email expressed that Weiss had told investigators at the October 2022 meeting he was not the &#8220;deciding person&#8221; when it came to charges. Shapley&#8217;s IRS superior, Darrell Waldon, replied by thanking Shapley and saying, &#8220;You covered it all.&#8221;

Shapley, who was joined by fellow IRS agent <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ex-fbi-agent-says-irs-whistleblower-was-right-bidens-were-tipped-off-during-investigation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joseph Ziegler</a> in coming forward as a whistleblower, brought forth allegations that the criminal inquiry into Biden was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/plurality-of-americans-lack-confidence-in-dojs-hunter-biden-inquiry-poll" target="_blank" rel="noopener">slow-walked by top officials</a> in a way that could have precluded serious charges.
Amid increasing scrutiny on his years-long investigation, Weiss went from saying he had the <a href="https://static.foxnews.com/foxnews.com/content/uploads/2023/07/2023.06.30-David-Weiss-1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;ultimate authority&#8221;</a> to acknowledging discussions with Department of Justice (DOJ) officials <a href="https://www.politico.com/f/?id=00000189-403e-d0a8-a59b-dffe47490000" target="_blank" rel="noopener">who &#8220;assured&#8221; him</a> that he would have power to bring charges outside of his district if it proved necessary.
Weiss and Biden&#8217;s legal team eventually settled on a plea agreement involving tax evasion and gun charges that could have kept the first son out of prison. But the agreement — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-1774-hunter-s-sweetheart-plea-deal-and-the-continuing-biden-coverup3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dubbed a &#8220;sweetheart plea deal&#8221;</a> by Republicans — fell apart this summer after a judge raised concerns about an immunity clause.
The DOJ indicated last week that Weiss, now with special counsel powers, intends to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-special-counsel-david-weiss-to-indict-hunter-biden-filing-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">seek an indictment</a> against Biden on gun charges by the end of the month, while one of Biden&#8217;s lawyers <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/09/06/us/politics/hunter-biden-indictment-gun-charges.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">argued</a> in a statement that a pre-trial diversion agreement &#8220;remains valid and prevents any additional charges from being filed.&#8221;

The Department of Defense released a statement <a href="https://twitter.com/GadiNBC/status/1684294693428027395">insisting</a> that its All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), which has been tasked with investigating UFOs, &#8220;has not discovered any verifiable information to substantiate claims that any programs regarding the possession or reverse-engineering of extraterrestrial materials have existed in the past or exist currently.&#8221; In addition, AARO Director Sean Kirkpatrick said the hearing was <a href="https://apnews.com/article/congress-ufos-uaps-pentagon-aliens-631ad4d174ee9559580935ec11afcf3f">&#8220;insulting&#8221;</a> to members of his team.
Ratcliffe, a former U.S. congressman who served as the final <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/director-of-national-intelligence">director of national intelligence</a> during the Trump administration, has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-national-intelligence-director-john-ratcliffe-sounds-alarm-over-new-ufo-report">spoken out periodically</a> about UAP since leaving government.
In March 2021, Ratcliffe said <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/former-intelligence-chief-quite-a-few-more-ufos-detected-than-public-knows">&#8220;multiple sensors&#8221;</a> were picking up on mysterious flying objects with strange properties. He also claimed there were &#8220;a lot more sightings than have been made public.&#8221; Since that time, the federal government has stepped up efforts to investigate UAP sightings and <a href="https://defensescoop.com/2023/04/19/pentagons-uap-office-now-investigating-more-than-650-cases/">release some information</a> about hundreds of encounters, but Ratcliffe contended that the effort has been poorly managed by the Biden administration.
&#8220;Had the government managed this a little bit better, it wouldn&#8217;t be as controversial,&#8221; Ratcliffe said on Sunday.

An IRS <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/whistleblower" target="_blank" rel="noopener">whistleblower</a> called for a special counsel to be appointed to look into the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a> criminal probe because he said the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/department-of-justice" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Justice Department</a> had obstructed the investigation. 
Joseph Ziegler, who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/irs-whistleblower-says-doj-waiting-to-pounce-in-retaliation-over-hunter-biden-investigation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">came forward</a> last week to testify before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, wrote in an <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/a-special-counsel-for-hunter-biden-justice-irs-tax-whistleblower-2fe10db1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opinion column</a> for the Wall Street Journal that Attorney General Merrick Garland should appoint a special counsel “so an independent reviewer can examine what I believe were deficient investigative steps and improper decisions.”
“Justice officials prevented investigators from following the evidence. Appointing a special counsel would create a path for the investigation to continue with integrity. I hope transparency will restore public confidence in the idea that every U.S. taxpayer receives equal treatment under the law. Sweetheart deals shouldn’t be handed out like candy to the rich, powerful and politically connected,” Ziegler wrote on Thursday. 
He said that Hunter Biden’s plea deal likely fell apart because the DOJ “rushed to charge the case and failed to follow standard investigative processes.”
On Wednesday, Delaware U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-plea-deal-almost-derails-after-questions-about-scope-of-deal-immunity" target="_blank" rel="noopener">put off a decision</a> on the plea deal after raising concerns about the terms of the agreement, including provisions about immunity for future prosecution. 
Republicans have taken different approaches to the question of whether a special counsel should be appointed to look into Hunter Biden and the investigation. 
“I have no confidence that Attorney General Merrick Garland would appoint an impartial special counsel,&#8221; Rep. James Comer (R-KY) <a href="https://justthenews.com/government/congress/house-and-senate-republicans-differ-special-counsel-after-hunter-biden-plea" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> Just the News. &#8220;The Oversight Committee will continue our investigation into the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes to inform legislative solutions to prevent public officials and their families from abusing public office for private gain.&#8221;
Comer has been heading up the House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/timeline-of-alleged-biden-family-corruption" target="_blank" rel="noopener">investigation of the Biden family</a>, and said he<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/comer-expects-to-recommend-up-to-10-criminal-referrals-against-hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> expects to recommend</a> up to 10 criminal referrals against Hunter.
The Kentucky Republican added that Republicans in the House would continue to look into &#8220;politicization and misconduct at the Department of Justice and hold bad actors accountable.&#8221;

Some Senate Republicans <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12194701/Senate-Republicans-demand-special-counsel-investigate-Hunter-Joe-Bidens-business-dealings.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have advocated</a> for Garland to appoint a special counsel to investigate the Biden family, specifically after one allegation that then-Vice President Joe Biden <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/alleged-5-million-to-biden-was-from-ukrainian-natural-gas-company-burisma-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accepted</a> a $5 million bribe from the Ukrainian gas company Burisma.
“Given these concerning allegations that continue to come to light with each passing day, we urge you to appoint a special counsel to investigate any wrongdoing by President Biden and his family in their business dealings,” several Republican senators, including Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) wrote to Garland last month.

Goldman pointed to a moment in <a href="https://waysandmeans.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Whistleblower-1-Transcript_Redacted.pdf">Shapley&#8217;s prior testimony</a> in which he quoted Hunter Biden <a href="https://www.politico.com/newsletters/politico-nightly/2023/06/23/takeaways-from-the-hunter-biden-wars-00103510">business associate Rob Walker</a> informing the FBI that Hunter Biden told his father at a lunch meeting with executives at the Chinese energy firm CEFC, &#8220;I may be trying to start a company or try to do something with these guys.&#8221;
&#8220;Now, let me ask you something,&#8221; Goldman said. &#8220;That doesn&#8217;t sound much like Joe Biden was involved in whatever Hunter Biden was doing with the CEFC, if <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden">Hunter Biden</a> is telling him that he&#8217;s trying to do business with them, does it?&#8221;

In response, Shapley said, &#8220;No but it does show that he told his father that he was trying to do business and he was talking to his father about the business.&#8221;
At that moment, Goldman threw his hands into the air and said, &#8220;Okay, well that is true. Hunter Biden does try to do business. That&#8217;s correct.&#8221;
On Twitter, Turley <a href="https://twitter.com/JonathanTurley/status/1681784176893198338">said</a> Goldman &#8220;just tripped the wire on Joe Biden,&#8221; adding, &#8220;In trying to grill the whistleblowers to show that there is no evidence that Joe Biden was involved, he elicited an answer that the witnesses established that Joe Biden did discuss business deals of Hunter with the Chinese.&#8221;
&#8220;Goldman was trying to show that the witnesses did not mention a substantive role of Joe Biden, Shapley immediately noted that it did mean that he came to discuss one of the Hunter&#8217;s deals. The President continues to deny that fact,&#8221; he added.

After Shapley made his point about Joe Biden talking to his son about business, Goldman went on to state that the IRS agent had &#8220;no direct evidence&#8221; connecting Joe Biden to Hunter Biden&#8217;s business deals before moving on with his questioning.
Turley, in ending his Twitter thread, said if Goldman had continued his line of inquiry about the Biden business deals for a few more minutes, it would have &#8220;sealed the case&#8221; for the appointment of a special counsel.

Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/marjorie-taylor-greene" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marjorie Taylor Greene</a> (R-GA) gave <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a>&#8216;s alleged dealings with prostitutes a close-up at Wednesday&#8217;s House Oversight Committee hearing with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/internal-revenue-service-irs" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Internal Revenue Service</a> (IRS) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/whistleblower" target="_blank" rel="noopener">whistleblowers</a>.
An exchange with IRS special agent <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=ziegler&amp;src=typed_query" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joseph </a><a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=ziegler&amp;src=typed_query" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ziegler</a>, one of two whistleblowers who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/irs-whistleblower-says-doj-waiting-to-pounce-in-retaliation-over-hunter-biden-investigation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allege</a> the investigation into <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Biden</a> has been mishandled, began with Greene warning people at home that &#8220;parental discretion is advised.&#8221; 
The back-and-forth centered on what Greene said was evidence showing Biden may have violated the Mann Act by paying travel expenses through his law firm, OWASCO, for women — including possibly an assistant — to travel across state lines for sex.
Ziegler, who previously testified to the House Ways and Means Committee that investigators had been <a href="https://waysandmeans.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Whistleblower-2-Transcript_Redacted.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;compiling&#8221;</a> Mann Act violations, acknowledged deductions to pay for what investigators believed to be &#8220;escorts&#8221; and a $10,000 &#8220;golf club membership&#8221; that he said was actually for a &#8220;sex club payment.&#8221;

Multiple visuals employed by Greene showed women and Biden engaged in sexual activity — images which appear to come from the First Son&#8217;s abandoned laptop and had private parts censored out — as well as what the congresswoman said were excerpts of suspicious activity reports (SARs) from the Treasury Department that mention human trafficking.
Greene said she was &#8220;troubled&#8221; by the SARs. &#8220;What&#8217;s even more troubling to me,&#8221; she added, &#8220;is that the Department of Justice has brought no charges against Hunter Biden that will vindicate the rights of these women who are clearly victims under the law.&#8221;
So far, the years-long investigation into the 53-year-old Biden has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-reaches-plea-deal-over-tax-crimes-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">amounted to a plea deal</a> for tax and gun violations that could keep him out of prison. A judge is set to hold a hearing on the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/hunter-biden-judge-plea-deal-court-a382da6204190e18cbcdc947d5fcb3cf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agreement on July 26</a>.
Despite the IRS whistleblowers <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/irs-whistleblower-says-story-from-hunter-biden-prosecutor-has-been-changing" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raising allegations</a> that the inquiry was stymied in a way that prevented more serious charges, Biden&#8217;s attorney, Chris Clark, <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/06/23/politics/merrick-garland-hunter-biden/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has said</a> “any suggestion the investigation was not thorough, or cut corners, or cut my client any slack, is preposterous and deeply irresponsible.”
Democrats on the panel appeared to be outraged by Greene&#8217;s presentation, with ranking member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) asking, &#8220;should we be displaying this?&#8221;
Another member, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) suggested Greene may have broken an agreement with the Treasury Department not to publicize SARs reports &#8220;for the reason that they are not even allegations much less evidence of anything,&#8221; but Chairman James Comer (R-KY) assured him the SARs information put on display was separately <a href="https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1681749993000955905" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted to the internet years ago</a>.
