According to <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/white-house/joe-biden-biggest-new-years-resolution-tropical-vacation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Examiner</a>, Biden was referring to the luxe vacation destination when he said he resolved to &#8220;come back&#8221; in 2024.
&#8220;I know you guys hate this assignment down here. I&#8217;m sorry to bring you down here,&#8221; he joked with reporters.
Others — like the hosts of &#8220;Fox &amp; Friends&#8221; on Sunday morning — interpreted his resolution as a promise to come back from vacation and return to work in the White House.
Pete Hegseth, according to a report from Mediaite, said the he believed Biden was actually resolving to &#8220;stay alive.&#8221;
&#8220;That’s what it feels like, right?&#8221; cohost Johnny Joey Jones replied.
Rachel Campos-Duffy added, &#8220;That’s what Obama told him, to stay alive.&#8221;
&#8220;Joe, just make it, man,&#8221; Jones continued.
&#8220;I’m just coming back next year — which is tomorrow,&#8221; Hegseth joked.
Jones went on to point out some resolutions he thought Biden would be wise to consider as 2024 began: &#8220;Don’t let the dog bite as many people, don’t let the kids get in as much trouble.&#8221;
Fox News was not the only media outlet to address Biden&#8217;s comments, however — former Biden campaign manager <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/biden-reveals-new-years-resolution-come-back-next-year-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kate Bedingfield</a> discussed the president&#8217;s resolution with CNN anchor Dana Bash as well.
&#8220;We love a New Year’s resolution we can keep, right?&#8221; she laughed. &#8220;The best resolutions are the ones you can keep.&#8221;
&#8220;Look, it is absolutely going to be a rocky and challenging and close campaign. I don&#8217;t think there is any doubt about that, I certainly don&#8217;t think anybody in the Biden operation has any doubt about that. It&#8217;s going to be a challenging campiagn,&#8221; Bedingfield added.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jp-morgan">JPMorgan Chase</a>, the largest investment bank in the U.S., said it would pay $75 million to settle a lawsuit accusing the financial institution of facilitating <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeffrey-epstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeffrey Epstein</a>’s sex-trafficking network. 
The U.S. Virgin Islands sued the bank for $190 million, claiming it looked the other way from suspicious payments and money transfers while Epstein committed sex crimes. The trial was set to begin on October 23. 
According to the Virgin Islands, the <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/26/jpmorgan-to-settle-jeffrey-epstein-suit-by-virgin-islands.html?__source=sharebar%7Ctwitter&amp;par=sharebar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">settlement</a> “includes several substantial commitments by JPMorgan Chase to identify, report, and cut off support for potential human trafficking, including establishing and implementing comprehensive policies and procedures.”
Of the settlement, $20 million will go toward legal fees, while $55 million will be allocated for anti-trafficking efforts by the Virgin Islands and charities. 
“As part of the settlement, JPMorgan has agreed to implement and maintain meaningful anti-trafficking measures, which will help prevent human trafficking in the future,” Virgin Islands Attorney General Ariel Smith said in a statement.
“This settlement is an historic victory for survivors and for state enforcement, and it should sound the alarm on Wall Street about banks’ responsibilities under the law to detect and prevent human trafficking,” Smith added. 
According to the Wall Street Journal, Epstein <a href="https://www.wsj.com/finance/banking/jpmorgan-paying-75-million-to-settle-suit-over-jeffrey-epstein-ties-545e7824" target="_blank" rel="noopener">maintained</a> dozens of bank accounts with JPMorgan and regularly communicated with leadership at the bank. 
“While the settlement does not involve admissions of liability, the firm deeply regrets any association with this man, and would never have continued doing business with him if it believed he was using the bank in any way to commit his heinous crimes,” JPMorgan said in a statement. 
At the same time the settlement between the Virgin Islands and JPMorgan was announced, the bank said it had settled with former executive Jes Staley, who was close to Epstein.
Staley has been sued by JPMorgan, which blamed the bank’s connection to Epstein on him. The details of that settlement have not been disclosed. 
Emails between Staley and Epstein allegedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/virgin-islands-and-jpmorgan-accuse-each-other-of-enabling-jeffrey-epstein-in-new-court-filings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">show them discussing</a> someone described as “Snow White.” Staley allegedly emailed Epstein from his work account on July 9, 2010, saying, “That was fun. Say hi to Snow White.” Epstein reportedly replied, “What character would you like next,” to which Staley allegedly replied, “Beauty and the Beast.”

In an <a href="https://assets.bwbx.io/documents/users/iqjWHBFdfxIU/rh8weMHKF6X0/v0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">additional filing</a> from the Virgin Islands, Staley was allegedly told by then-JPMorgan CEO Douglas Warner that Epstein was “one of the most connected people I know of in New York,” saying he should meet him. 
JPMorgan <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jpmorgan-to-settle-sex-trafficking-lawsuit-with-epstein-victims-for-290-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">previously settled</a> with victims of Epstein’s trafficking operation for $290 million. While the bank has agreed to settle, it has not acknowledged any wrongdoing. 
The bank had accused the Virgin Islands of complicity with Epstein, claiming that the territory “created a haven for Epstein’s criminal activity.”

The National Weather Service forecast office in Boston/Norton, Massachusetts, additionally <a href="https://forecast.weather.gov/product.php?site=BOX&amp;issuedby=BOX&amp;product=AFD&amp;format=CI&amp;version=1&amp;glossary=1&amp;highlight=off" target="_blank" rel="noopener">warned</a> of increasing surf and rip currents.
Atmospheric conditions are expected to prompt Hurricane Lee to &#8220;gradually increase in forward speed&#8221; and may cause it to &#8220;turn slightly to the left Friday night and Saturday, which will likely bring Lee close to southeastern New England before it reaches Maine and Atlantic Canada later in the weekend,&#8221; NHC <a href="https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCDAT3+shtml/131438.shtml?" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a discussion post.

Still, they warned, Lee will pose a danger to people in those areas.

An Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter found that the hurricane &#8220;skyrocketed&#8221; to the high end of the <a href="https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutsshws.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale</a> during the day with sustained maximum winds of 160 miles per hour, the federal agency <a href="https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/text/refresh/MIATCDAT3+shtml/080252.shtml?">explained</a> in an 11 p.m. ET discussion post.
The storm is expected to maintain a &#8220;steady&#8221; track to the west-northwest, passing &#8220;well to the north&#8221; of the northern Leeward Islands, the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico over the next five days, NHC said.
During that period, Lee may slightly diminish to Category 4 status, which would still keep it as a major hurricane with the potential for &#8220;catastrophic&#8221; damage, according to the <a href="https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutsshws.php">Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale</a>.

Afterward, the track for Hurricane Lee becomes far less certain, as is often the case with extended forecasts.
&#8220;Although there are some indications that Lee might begin a northward turn around the middle of next week, it is still way [too] soon to focus on specific model scenarios that far out into the future,&#8221; NHC said.
Some computer models indicated on Thursday that Hurricane Lee <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hurricane-lee-expected-to-reach-category-5-strength">could threaten to directly impact</a>, if not make landfall, over the Mid-Atlantic, New England, or Canada. &#8220;Dangerous surf and life-threatening rip currents are likely in the northern Leeward Islands beginning Friday. These conditions will spread westward and northward, affecting Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, the Turks and Caicos, the Bahamas, and Bermuda through the weekend,&#8221; the NHC said as one of its &#8220;key messages&#8221; in its 11 p.m. post.
&#8220;It is way too soon to know what level of impacts, if any, Lee might have along the U.S. East Coast, Atlantic Canada, or Bermuda late next week, particularly since the hurricane is expected to slow down considerably over the southwestern Atlantic,&#8221; NHC said in another message. &#8220;Regardless, dangerous surf and rip currents are expected along most of the U.S.  East Coast beginning Sunday. The NHC said the storm, which was moving over the Atlantic Ocean toward the Caribbean as a Category 2 hurricane as of midday on Thursday, would likely travel north of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and other nearby islands over the weekend and into next week. But, the agency added, these islands should continue monitoring for updates.
&#8220;Swells generated by Lee are expected to reach portions of the Lesser Antilles on Friday, and the British and U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Hispaniola, the Bahamas, and Bermuda this weekend. The U.S. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/virgin-islands" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Virgin Islands</a> and banking giant JPMorgan Chase have accused each other of enabling <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeffrey-epstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeffrey Epstein</a>, according to new court filings. 
The filing from the Virgin Islands references alleged communications between a former and current JPMorgan executive which appears to show that they knew of Epstein’s ties to “nymphettes,” while the filing from JPMorgan says that the Virgin Islands was trying to shift blame for allowing Epstein’s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sex-trafficking" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sex trafficking</a> to the bank.
“This is not a case about Jeffrey Epstein’s victims. This is a case in which a complicit governmental actor, the United States Virgin Islands (USVI), knowingly used its sovereign powers to enable Epstein’s sex crimes, including by soliciting his input on its own sex offender legislation, waiving sex offender monitoring requirements for him, facilitating the provision of ESL classes and visas that allowed him to bring victims to USVI, and actively looking the other way whenever he arrived at USVI airports accompanied by young women and girls,” JPMorgan <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.591653/gov.uscourts.nysd.591653.223.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a legal filing on Monday. 
The bank added that it will prove that the Virgin Islands “created a haven for Epstein’s criminal activity.” JPMorgan, the largest investment bank in the U.S., <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/jpmorgan-to-settle-sex-trafficking-lawsuit-with-epstein-victims-for-290-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">settled with victims</a> of Epstein&#8217;s sex trafficking operation for $290 million last month. 
In its <a href="https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.591653/gov.uscourts.nysd.591653.221.0.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">148-page filing</a>, the Virgin Islands alleged that JPMorgan was deeply tied to Epstein and facilitated his sex-trafficking operation. The government accused JPMorgan of facilitating millions of dollars in payments to Epstein’s alleged co-conspirators in sexually abusing young women, settlement payments, legal expense payments, “suspicious cash withdrawals,” and payments to women with “Eastern European surnames.” 
One message included in the filing from former JPMorgan CFO David Brigstocke to JPMorgan executive Mary Erdoes in September 2012 seems to indicate the executives knew that all was not right with Epstein. 
&#8220;Reminded me of JE&#8217;s house, except it was more tasteful, and fewer nymphettes,&#8221; Brigstocke allegedly wrote. &#8220;More like the Frick [museum]. Art was fabulous.&#8221;
The filing also points to alleged communications between Epstein and Jes Staley, a former banking executive for JPMorgan and Barclays. Staley has been sued by JPMorgan, who blames the bank&#8217;s connection to Epstein on him. 
Alleged emails between Staley and Epstein show them discussing “Snow White.” Staley allegedly emailed Epstein on July 9, 2010 from his work email saying, “That was fun. Say hi to Snow White.” Epstein reportedly replied, “what character would you like next,” to which Staley allegedly replied “Beauty and the Beast.”

In an <a href="https://assets.bwbx.io/documents/users/iqjWHBFdfxIU/rh8weMHKF6X0/v0" target="_blank" rel="noopener">additional filing</a> on Monday from the Virgin Islands, Staley was allegedly told by then JPMorgan CEO Douglas Warner that Epstein was “one of the most connected people I know of in New York,” saying he should meet him. 
The Virgin Islands is <a href="https://www.reuters.com/legal/jpmorgan-ignored-epsteins-nymphettes-us-virgin-islands-says-2023-07-25/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">suing</a> JPMorgan for $190 million over its handling of its relationship with Epstein, while the bank has sued Staley to make him culpable for any Epstein fallout.

<a href="https://www.accuweather.com/en/hurricane/brewing-tropical-rainstorm-sailing-westward-across-the-atlantic/1543896" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Forecasters with AccuWeather</a> predicted that the system could become a tropical storm by Tuesday morning and later a hurricane, which requires sustained maximum winds of at least 74 miles per hour, <a href="https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/aboutsshws.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale</a>.
As of mid-Monday, the storm&#8217;s maximum sustained winds were being clocked at around 35 mph with higher wind gusts, and considering the expectation for some strengthening, the &#8220;depression is forecast to become a hurricane in a few days,&#8221; NHC said.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced last month that this year&#8217;s Atlantic hurricane season, stretching from June 1 to November 30, was expected to have <a href="https://www.noaa.gov/news-release/2023-atlantic-hurricane-season-outlook" target="_blank" rel="noopener">near-normal activity</a> with 12-17 named storms and five-nine of them strengthening to hurricane status.

NHC forecasters said a <a href="https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/gtwo.php?basin=atlc&amp;fdays=2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">second disturbance</a> also has a chance of tropical cyclone formation in the next 48 hours.
James Spann, a <a href="https://www.al.com/life/2019/07/the-james-spann-you-never-knew.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">popular meteorologist in Alabama</a>, said that it is premature to determine whether the United States will be affected by what may become Hurricane Bret.

Congressional Delegate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/watch-house-dems-try-to-bully-twitter-files-journos-into-revealing-sources-fail-miserably" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Stacey Plaskett</a> (D-USVI) had to correct herself on Sunday after she said during a live television interview that former President Donald Trump should be &#8220;shot.&#8221;

Plaskett went on to say that Trump would certainly have his day in court and would have the same chance that any other American citizen would have to defend himself, but she was careful to point out the fact that the former president had been indicted in a very red state — Florida — by his peers.
&#8220;Of course, he&#8217;s going to have his day in court,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;Let&#8217;s remember that he was indicted by his peers — individual Americans who live in South Florida, a red state — they saw enough that there was probable cause for him to bring this indictment for him to stand trial.&#8221;
During the same interview, Plaskett claimed that Republican &#8220;propaganda&#8221; was the only possible reason Americans might have doubts about the Justice Department and the FBI under President Joe Biden.

The wife of a Democrat politician in the U.S. Virgin Islands is accused of helping <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeffrey-epstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeffrey Epstein</a> facilitate his alleged sex trafficking scheme.
The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/jpmorgan-says-ex-first-lady-of-u-s-virgin-islands-helped-epstein-traffic-women-509dd39d" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the revelation was made in a court filing from JPMorgan Chase. The bank agreed to pay approximately $290 million to settle a class action lawsuit from Epstein&#8217;s victims over the bank&#8217;s relationship with the now-deceased sex trafficker.
The bank released emails between Epstein and former First Lady Cecile de Jongh, wife of then-USVI <a href="https://www.nga.org/governor/4796-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Democrat Governor</a> John de Jongh Jr., who was &#8220;an office manager for the convicted sex offender’s businesses in the U.S. territory.&#8221;
The U.S. Virgin Islands sued the bank last year claiming that it helped Epstein facilitate his crimes by allowing him to use their bank, which provided him access to the financial system.
The bank said in court documents that the U.S. Virgin Islands “protected Epstein, fostering the perfect conditions for Epstein’s criminal conduct to continue undetected. Rather than stop him, they helped him.”
The bank said that de Jongh ran Epstein&#8217;s business operations on the island while her husband was the governor and helped him deal with local politicians and law enforcement.
De Jongh allegedly helped enroll numerous Epstein victims in English classes, the bank said. Epstein paid for the courses. She also allegedly helped get their visas set up so they could be brought to the island.
She allegedly asked Epstein to make political donations to the congressional campaign of Democrat Stacey Plaskett, who was later elected to U.S. Congress as a delegate.

A spokesperson for the island&#8217;s attorney general claimed that the bank &#8220;cherry-picked&#8221; facts to distract from its own legal woes.
“JPMorgan Chase has cherry-picked and mischaracterized Epstein’s interactions with U.S. Virgin Islands officials and residents in an attempt to distract and shift blame away from its role in facilitating Jeffrey Epstein’s heinous crimes,” the spokesperson said.

LinkedIn co-founder and wealthy venture capitalist Reid Hoffman says he visited the private residence in the U.S. Virgins Islands where the late <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/jeffrey-epstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Jeffrey Epstein</a> allegedly hid away a sex trafficking enterprise.
The admission came after documents reviewed by <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/jeffrey-epstein-documents-woody-allen-larry-summers-edb3e9b2?mod=us_more_pos1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Wall Street Journal</a> showed plans for Hoffman, who reportedly <a href="https://www.forbes.com/profile/reid-hoffman/?sh=ea212a118491" target="_blank" rel="noopener">boasts a net worth of $2 billion</a> and <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-04-21/linkedin-co-founder-defends-funding-trump-rape-accuser-s-lawsuit#xj4y7vzkg" target="_blank" rel="noopener">has been helping to fund</a> writer E. Jean Carroll&#8217;s civil suit accusing former President Donald Trump of rape, to visit Little Saint James with former MIT Media Lab research center director Joi Ito twice in March and then November of 2014.
Per the newspaper, Hoffman claimed he visited the island residence just once during a fundraising trip with Ito and cut off contact with Epstein in 2015.
“It gnaws at me that, by lending my association, I helped his reputation, and thus delayed justice for his survivors,” Hoffman told the news outlet. “While I relied on MIT’s endorsement, ultimately I made the mistake,” Hoffman added, “and I am sorry for my personal misjudgment.”
The Wall Street Journal, which in recent days has reported on schedules and other notes showing Epstein making arrangements to meet all sorts of powerful people including <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/epstein-scheduled-meetings-with-now-cia-director-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">now-CIA Director William Burns</a>, disclosed other plans with Hoffman.
These records showed Epstein traveling with Hoffman and Ito from Palm Beach, Florida, to Little St. James — a Caribbean getaway derisively nicknamed &#8220;pedophile island,&#8221; which <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/richardjchang/2023/05/03/exclusive-billionaire-buys-jeffrey-epsteins-private-islands-60-million/?sh=4b30daa9a965" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Forbes reported</a> on Wednesday was sold to billionaire investor Stephen Deckoff along with Epstein&#8217;s other island Great St. James for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/billionaire-buys-jeffrey-epsteins-infamous-island-plans-to-turn-it-into-a-luxury-resort-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$60 million</a> — for a weekend during the planned November 2014 visit, and then flying to Boston. The documents also discussed Epstein making plans for Hoffman to stay at his Manhattan townhouse overnight in December 2014 and scheduling Hoffman to appear at a &#8220;breakfast party&#8221; with Epstein, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, and others the next morning.
In 2008, after Epstein was accused of sexually abusing female minors in Florida, he reached a deal with federal prosecutors. He pleaded guilty to state-level prostitution charges, registered as a sex offender, and served roughly 13 months in jail and in a work-release program. Epstein died at the age of 66 in his New York City jail cell in August 2019 after being arrested on sex trafficking charges involving young girls and pleading not guilty.
A month after Epstein&#8217;s death, Hoffman <a href="https://www.axios.com/2019/09/12/reid-hoffman-jeffrey-epstein-mit-donations" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acknowledged to Axios</a> having interactions with Epstein and expressed regret for participating in MIT fundraising activity with Epstein present and by extension helping to &#8220;repair&#8221; Epstein&#8217;s &#8220;reputation and perpetuate injustice.&#8221; Around the same time, Ito stepped from his role at MIT after the <a href="https://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/how-an-elite-university-research-center-concealed-its-relationship-with-jeffrey-epstein" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Yorker reported</a> documents showing efforts to conceal hefty donations to its Media Lab and Ito <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2019/08/16/business/media/ito-mit-epstein-apology.html?module=inline" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pledged to return money</a> Epstein put toward his investment funds.

In response to the new reporting, Ito told the Wall Street Journal that Hoffman &#8220;attended a few fundraising events at my request, including one trip to Little St. James, after I confirmed to Reid that Mr. Epstein had been an approved donor target for MIT in accordance with university rules and regulations.&#8221;
In November of last year, the attorney general of the U.S. Virgin Islands announced Epstein&#8217;s estate agreed to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/epstein-estate-to-pay-more-than-105-million-to-u-s-virgin-islands" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pay more than $105 million</a> to settle a civil lawsuit claiming he sought to conceal a sex trafficking operation at his island residence.

A billionaire investor has reportedly purchased Jeffrey Epstein&#8217;s notorious private islands in the Caribbean and plans to turn them into a luxury resort.
Forbes <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/richardjchang/2023/05/03/exclusive-billionaire-buys-jeffrey-epsteins-private-islands-60-million/?sh=7644f25ea965">reported</a> that Stephen Deckoff, founder of private equity firm Black Diamond Capital Management, bought the islands for $60 million — approximately half of their initial asking price.
Deckoff told the publication that he never met Epstein and had never been on the island until after Epstein was found dead in his jail cell in 2019.
Deckoff, who made the purchase through his investment firm SD Investments LLC, said in a press release that the plan is to build &#8220;a state-of-the-art, five-star, world-class luxury 25-room resort&#8221; on the two islands — 70-acre Little St. James and 160-acre Great St. James. He said that he is in the process of hiring architects and engineers to complete the job, which he aims to have completed in 2025.
The statement said the resort would &#8220;help bolster tourism, create jobs, and spur economic development in the region, while respecting and preserving the important environment of the islands.&#8221;

Attorneys have uncovered communications from JPMorgan Chase employees which mentioned a “Dimon review” into the company’s relationship with Epstein, according to a <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/f5e7d581-6369-4b0b-92f4-b5fe9a55b2f2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> from the Financial Times based upon unnamed sources.
Dimon, who has led the investment bank since 2005 and is widely considered one of the most powerful executives on Wall Street, will be deposed behind closed doors in May. Another source told the Financial Times that there is no record of direct communications between Dimon and Epstein, who worked with JPMorgan Chase between 1998 and 2013.
JPMorgan Chase has denied that Dimon had knowledge of a review into the firm’s associations with Epstein and rejected the notion that the company benefited from sex trafficking.
News of the upcoming deposition comes one week after United States District Judge Jed Rakoff <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/epstein-victim-allowed-to-sue-big-banks-for-allegedly-enabling-sex-offender-we-will-leave-no-stone-unturned" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tossed</a> most of the charges against JPMorgan Chase and Deutsche Bank in the proposed class action lawsuits from the Epstein accuser and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Attorneys will be permitted, however, to contend that both companies benefited from the Epstein sex trafficking scheme by providing him with financial services.
“Epstein’s sex trafficking operation was impossible without the assistance of JPMorgan Chase, and later Deutsche Bank, and we assure the public that we will leave no stone unturned in our quest for justice for the many victims who deserved better from one of America’s largest financial institutions,” lawyers for the U.S. Virgin Islands and the Epstein victim, identified only as Jane Doe, said in a statement.
The complaint from Doe asserts that Epstein, who ran a hedge fund before his death in 2019, benefited from special treatment at JPMorgan Chase because he attracted clients to the investment bank. Most of the Epstein hedge fund’s business went to Deutsche Bank after he ceased business with JPMorgan Chase in 2013.
The new complaints against the financial institutions come after managers of the Epstein estate <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/epstein-estate-to-pay-more-than-105-million-to-u-s-virgin-islands" target="_blank" rel="noopener">agreed</a> to settle a lawsuit with the U.S. Virgin Islands at the end of last year over enforcement actions related to the territory’s laws against fraud, sex trafficking, and child exploitation. The estate agreed to pay $105 million and half of the proceeds earned from selling the island of Little St. James, which has acquired nicknames such as “Pedophile Island,” and $450,000 to remediate environmental damage around Great St. James, another island owned by Epstein.

The financier purchased Little St. James in 1998 and owned the property until his death. The island has allegedly hosted former President Bill Clinton and British Prince Andrew; a pilot who formerly worked for Epstein <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/two-presidents-and-a-prince-epsteins-former-pilot-testifies-famous-men-flew-on-sex-offenders-plane" target="_blank" rel="noopener">testified</a> that he had seen the two individuals, and former President Donald Trump and actor Kevin Spacey, on the deceased predator’s aircraft.
