A video of an Australian nurse using his 10 years of training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) to fend off a crazed patient at the Brisbane hospital has gone viral this week.
Daniel Nelson, who is registered in the Australian Army, posted the security camera footage of himself from October 2024 that shows the workplace violence that “many people never see.” The video, which Nelson posted on his LinkedIn account last week, shows the nurse fighting off an intoxicated patient at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, prompting him to use his decade of training in martial arts. 
Nelson explained that the patient was showing signs of intoxication while “verbally abusing staff, spitting on the floor, and behaving aggressively.” After the man was asked to leave, Nelson escorted the patient out before the apparently drunk man turned around and threw items at him and began punching him.
“Somewhere along the way, he decided assaulting the nurse was a good idea. … In a stroke of genius, he decided he wanted a cuddle,” Nelson wrote on the post. “Safe to say, it didn’t work out the way he expected.”
The nurse, who has <a href="https://www.news24.com.au/national/cctv-shows-brisbane-emergency-department-nurse-using-jiujitsu-to-restrain-attacker-in-shocking-footage/news-story/961c28ba6417e82a837523bad09ebcdf">served</a> the Australian Army for more than 21 years, used his 10-year “obsession” with BJJ to defend himself, wrestling the man and putting him in a choke hold until security arrived. 
While the training and quick reflexes benefitted Nelson, he explained that not everyone would have been capable of stopping the intoxicated individual.
“What if he had targeted a nurse half my size,” he said. “A new graduate? A student? Someone without the ability or confidence to physically defend themselves?”
He went on to write later in his post that situations like these with patients are actually very common and healthcare workers should not have to experience this kind of violence and harassment at the workplace.
“Violence against healthcare workers isn’t ‘just part of the job.’ It’s unacceptable and alcohol is no excuse,” Nelson stated. “To all my colleagues who continue to show up despite this sort of behavior: I see you and appreciate what you do every day.”
The nurse ended the post by explaining the man pleaded guilty to common assault and was fined $450.

Authorities have identified the gunman who killed three people during Saturday&#8217;s shooting at an In-N-Out Burger in Twin Falls, Idaho, and investigators are still working to determine what motivated the attack.
Twin Falls Police on Sunday identified the lone suspect as 24-year-old Chad Williams, who authorities say took his own life after opening fire at the newly-opened restaurant. Police said three people were killed and seven others were wounded in the shooting, which erupted on Saturday around 2:30 p.m. local time at the In-N-Out location that had opened just over a week ago.
Twin Falls Police Chief Matthew Hicks said Sunday that two of the wounded victims have since been treated and released from the hospital, while two remain in critical condition and three others are listed in stable condition. Hicks cautioned that those figures remain preliminary as the investigation continues.
Authorities have not yet publicly identified the three people killed because family notifications are still being completed.
In-N-Out President Lynsi Snyder confirmed that one of the victims was an employee. &#8220;She was taking care of our most important asset — our Customers, and her life was taken by a disgusting human who doesn&#8217;t value the lives of others or his own,&#8221; Snyder said in a <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Dbhsx8XOGOk/?hl=en">statement</a>. She added that the shooter fired both on and off company property before ending his own life.
Police said the investigation remains active, with detectives continuing to interview what Chief Hicks described as hundreds of potential witnesses. The FBI is assisting local authorities.
Officials also praised the actions of an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hero-bystander-jumps-in-when-shooter-opens-fire-at-in-n-out-burger?author=Virginia+Kruta&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=undefined&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=Armed+Hero+Bystander+Jumps+In+When+Shooter+Opens+Fire+At+In-N-Out+Burger">armed citizen</a>, identified as an off-duty law enforcement officer who returned fire during the attack, saying his response likely prevented additional casualties by forcing the gunman to retreat.
Witnesses described scenes of panic as customers and employees fled the restaurant. &#8220;People were running out crying and screaming. It was very scary,&#8221; Haley Dodaro <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/dead-injured-shooting-twin-falls-idaho-rcna590420">told the media</a> after she and her mother encountered the chaos while approaching the restaurant&#8217;s drive-thru.
Authorities have not announced a motive for the shooting, saying the investigation into Williams&#8217; actions remains ongoing.

The American consulate in Toronto was hit by gunfire in another &#8220;brazen&#8221; early-morning hit on Monday, the second time the U.S. post has been targeted this year.
Around 4:46 a.m., a gunman inside a speeding, license-plate-less white Honda sedan shot a bullet that cracked the facade of the downtown building, according to police, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/27/world/canada/toronto-us-consulate-shooting.html">reported</a>. A lone officer stationed right outside heard the shot, prompting a high-speed highway chase that hit nearly 90 mph before cops called it off due to safety concerns.
The latest targeted attack comes on the heels of an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/shots-fired-at-u-s-consulate-in-toronto-leaders-condemn-act-of-intimidation">earlier strike</a> on the same diplomatic post in March, when a pair of suspects hopped out of an SUV and peppered the consulate’s front glass doors with shots.
Authorities are trying to determine if the two consulate shootings are connected.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow decried the &#8220;brazen attack,&#8221; adding, “To the person or persons responsible, we will get you. We have apprehended the previous shooters, all three of them, and we will bring you to justice.”
Meanwhile, the city has been plagued by a surge in antisemitic attacks across the metro area. “This morning the U.S. consulate was shot at. This comes after shootings at synagogues over the past two weekends. This cannot stand,” Chow told reporters. She emphasized that the city’s Jewish community and international partners have the right to live without fear, noting that &#8220;antisemitic incidents spike when international tensions rise.&#8221;
The hate-fueled attacks have pushed Toronto&#8217;s Jewish community to the brink. Over the weekend, masked vandals <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bagels-and-bullets-antisemitic-terror-wave-hits-jewish-bakery-chain">blasted bullet holes and shattered windows</a> at two outposts of the Jewish-owned bakery chain Kiva’s, marking just the latest outrage in a city where hate crimes against Jews have spiraled out of control.
Despite representing under 4% of Toronto’s population, Jewish residents were the victims in a jaw-dropping 40% of all hate crimes logged by police in 2024. An astonishing 81% of all faith-based hate attacks in the city have targeted the Jewish community. Institutions ranging from a Jewish girls&#8217; elementary school to local synagogues have endured multiple shootings, vandalism, and worshippers being ambushed with gel-blasters following Shabbat services.

Germany&#8217;s experience with Islamist terrorism has been a near-constant barrage of failed plots ranging from organized cells with international links to a more recent pattern of attacks carried out by individuals, often immigrants, acting alone with knives, vehicles, or improvised weapons.
Below is a chronological account of the major incidents, compiled from court records, prosecutorial statements, and news coverage.
In July 2006, a device planted in a suitcase aboard a regional train at Cologne&#8217;s central station failed to detonate because of a construction flaw, narrowly averting what could have been a mass-casualty bombing.
The following year, in September 2007, Germany&#8217;s GSG 9 anti-terror unit broke up the so-called Sauerland Group, arresting two German converts to Islam and a Turkish national with ties to al-Qaeda. The cell had planned coordinated car bombings targeting airports in Dortmund and Düsseldorf in an attack intended to kill at least 150 people.
The first fatal Islamist attack on German soil came on March 2, 2011, when 21-year-old Arid Uka, a Kosovo Albanian, opened fire on American servicemen at Frankfurt Airport, killing two and wounding two others while shouting, &#8220;Allahu Akbar.&#8221;
In December 2012, a bomb was discovered on a platform at Bonn&#8217;s main train station; it failed to explode. The suspected perpetrator was a German convert to Islam identified as Marco G.
After the migration significantly increased in 2015, 2016 followed with a major escalation, with five major incidents in the space of ten months.
In February 2016, 15-year-old Safia S., a German-Moroccan girl who had been in contact with Islamic State members online, stabbed a federal police officer at Hannover&#8217;s central station and inflicted life-threatening injuries.
In April 2016, three youths detonated a homemade bomb at a Sikh temple in Essen, injuring three people; the attackers said they considered Sikhs &#8220;unbelievers.&#8221;
Then came a horrific eight-day period in July: On July 18, a 17-year-old Afghan refugee attacked passengers with an axe and knife aboard a train near Würzburg, injuring five before being shot dead by police; the Islamic State claimed responsibility. Six days later, on July 24 in Ansbach, a 27-year-old Syrian asylum seeker detonated a bomb outside a music festival, killing himself and injuring 15 others, again claimed by the IS.
The deadliest Islamist attack in German history came on December 19, 2016, when Tunisian asylum seeker Anis Amri drove a stolen truck into a Christmas market at Berlin&#8217;s Breitscheidplatz, killing 12 people and injuring 56. The Islamic State claimed responsibility.
In April 2020, Muharrem D., a 27-year-old German citizen of Kurdish descent, carried out a string of arson attacks against Turkish-owned businesses and a mosque in the Bavarian town of Waldkraiburg, including a fire at a supermarket that endangered 26 people living above it. A Munich court found he had become radicalized toward Islamic State ideology from 2017 onward.
On August 18, 2020, a 30-year-old Iraqi man, Sarmad A., deliberately rammed his car into motorcyclists across three separate collisions on Berlin&#8217;s A100 ring road, seriously injuring three people, before rolling out a prayer rug on the highway and shouting, &#8220;Allahu Akbar.”
In November 2021, a knife attack aboard an ICE train involved a 27-year-old assailant, Abdalrahman A., attacking four passengers.
In April 2023, a Syrian national, Maan D., who had come to Germany as an asylum seeker around 2015–2016, carried out two knife attacks in Duisburg nine days apart: fatally stabbing a man in the city&#8217;s old town on April 9, then wounding four more people at a gym on April 18. The Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court found he had acted from jihadist motivation.
On May 31, 2024, Sulaiman Ataee, a 25-year-old Afghan national, stabbed six people, including prominent anti-Islam activist Michael Stürzenberger at a rally organized by the group Pax Europa in Mannheim.  Police officer Rouven Laur, who intervened, later died of his injuries.
On August 23, 2024, Syrian asylum seeker Issa Al H. stabbed festival-goers at Solingen&#8217;s 650th anniversary celebration, killing three and injuring eight, targeting victims&#8217; necks. He had pledged allegiance to Islamic State in videos before the attack.
On December 20, 2024, Taleb A., a 50-year-old Saudi psychiatrist, drove into a crowded Christmas market in Magdeburg, killing five and injuring more than 200.
On February 13, 2025, a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker, Farhad N., deliberately drove his car into a trade union demonstration, killing a 37-year-old municipal employee and her two-year-old daughter and injuring roughly 39–44 others.
On February 21, 2025, a 19-year-old Syrian man stabbed a Spanish tourist in the throat at the Holocaust Memorial, shouting &#8220;Allahu Akbar.&#8221; He was found carrying handwritten Quranic verses and a pledge of allegiance to Islamic State.
On May 18, 2025, Mahmoud M., a Syrian who had arrived in Germany as an asylum seeker around 2023, attacked football fans outside a bar in Bielefeld using a modified walking stick fitted with an 18-centimeter blade, seriously wounding four people. He was found to have joined Islamic State in Raqqa around December 2014.
Separate from this list of terrorist attacks are the mass sexual assaults and thefts reported by hundreds of women in Cologne and other German cities on New Year&#8217;s Eve 2015–2016, primarily attributed to men of North African and Arab appearance.

The Daily Wire reviewed his social media account and found Sanchez has a history of threats against ICE officers. After Renee Good was shot and killed by ICE, with the officer saying she weaponized her vehicle, Sanchez said, “RIP to the woman murdered in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the hand of the ICE Nazi thugs… These bastards will pay for this.”

In July of last year, Sanchez wrote, “The Nazi Gestapo ICE thugs are patrolling and intimidating community residents.” He added later that, “It will be soon the day that I confront these Nazi ICE thugs in person for terrorizing our communities. It will be a day of reckoning and no going back.” He then said he hopes “the people of Providence and Rhode Island have our back.” 
Sanchez has <a href="https://x.com/EnriqueForRI/status/1882226116427207100">said</a> he’s willing to be politically prosecuted and arrested by federal authorities “if ICE performs raids and arrests residents in Rhode Island.” He claims ICE will “have to go through me first” and that he’s “ready to go down if it means protecting our most vulnerable communities.” He’s also been involved in organizing protests against federal officials, <a href="https://x.com/EnriqueForRI/status/1931867203248529860">saying</a> in both English and in Spanish, “it’s time to organize a massive anti-ICE protest here in Rhode Island like the one in LA.” 
This year, the Department of Homeland Security revealed ICE officers face an 8,000% increase in death threats against both them and their families, and a 1,300% increase in assaults against them. 
Sanchez&#8217;s latest threat comes after an anti-ICE activist lit an incendiary device at the entrance of New York City&#8217;s largest immigration court. Two were reported injured, with one being an immigrant entering the building to attend a hearing.
DHS shared a transcript of a voicemail to one agent that said, “I hate you. Everyone hates you. You’re a f*cking murderer. I hope you get hit by a bus. I hope you’re paralyzed, and your wife leaves you, and starts getting f*cked by BBCs every day.” 
In a response to a media request from the Blaze last July about his previous comments, Sanchez declined to condemn violence against ICE officers.

A New York City taxi driver is grateful to the Moroccan rapper French Montana for his efforts to raise money after a violent mob destroyed his cab.
The incident, which happened after a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on June 11, left cab driver Noureddine Bitat injured and traumatized. A frenzied mob of individuals hopped onto his taxi and dragged him out of it — and they completely destroyed the vehicle. Bitat said later he was “lucky to be alive.”
“The crowd came and they attacked him. They grabbed him out of the cab. They grabbed him by the neck. Someone punched him in his head,” a translator relayed the Algerian-born cabbie&#8217;s story.
“They shattered the windshield. They opened the front doors and even the trunks. They were yelling, ‘Knicks in five! Knicks in five!&#8217;” he went on. 
A viral video of the incident shows individuals jumping on the cab and smashing the windshield before trying to flip it over and set it ablaze. At least one person was reportedly arrested in connection with the attack on Bitat. The cab driver suffered back pain and scratches from the attack, plus is now too afraid to return to work, he says.

The violence unfolded as thousands of Knicks fans celebrated in the streets after their home team recovered from a 29-point deficit to beat the San Antonio Spurs 107-106. The Knicks went on to win the 2026 NBA Championship on Saturday.
The National Taxi Workers Alliance started a GoFundMe for Bitat, <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/06/17/us-news/cabbie-lucky-to-be-alive-after-knicks-maniacs-trashed-taxi-as-rapper-french-montana-steps-in-to-help/">The New York Post</a> reported — and the fundraiser quickly gained momentum after it was promoted by French Montana. The rapper even presented the cabbie with his check when the fundraiser was complete.
“Everybody got together and they raised up $75,000,” the rapper said. “These are the people that make the world go around. They don’t bother nobody. They out there working, minding their business.”  
Bitat said he’s grateful for everyone who came to his aid. “[The support] made him feel like he has another family here even though his own family [is not here],” the translator explained.

A 21-year-old political commentator was attacked and temporarily blinded by a masked individual while debating transgender violence on a college campus earlier this week.
A video shows Ryley Niemi, a conservative who regularly debates leftist students, sitting at a table on the University of California Santa Cruz campus when a black-clad person wearing dark sunglasses and a mask approached him and dumped a bucket of black liquid on him.
Niemi chased after the individual who fled the scene, and people in the area began cheering and shouting for Niemi to “get the f*ck off this campus.” The attacker escaped, but in an exclusive interview with The Daily Wire, Niemi said the police are “actively investigating this and looking for the person.&#8221;
Niemi, said the liquid caused blindness in both eyes for three hours, and blindness for six hours in his right eye.
“EMTs flushed my eyes with five vials of saline solution,” Niemi said. During his visit to the ER, Niemi learned that his “right eye has a corneal abrasion, and 48 hours later, my right eye still hurts and is slightly blurry.”
He added that the attack resulted in semi-permanent damage to his right eye and cut short his debate at UC Santa Cruz.

Niemi&#8217;s table featured signs that stated “trans women are men” and “transgenders are violent.” He said the attacker was “100% male” who appeared to be around 6&#8242; tall and “has a modified voice [because of hormone therapy], long hair, and feminine earrings.”
“The irony is,” Niemi continued, “that one of the signs said ‘trans-genders are violent.’ And then a transgender attacked me.”
This is not the first time Niemi has been <a href="https://x.com/jakerattlesnk/status/2045429911926735317">attacked</a>. Six weeks ago, Niemi interviewed a gay couple with a baby on the street and asked them about statistics on gay men committing child molestation. One of the men shoved him and proceeded to follow Niemi, punching him in the back of the head. Niemi said he suffered a concussion from the attack.
“The district attorney has let them off the hook,” Niemi added.
The Right-wing commentator explained that he holds debates to “change the mind of the American public to be more conservative.”

Federal prosecutors say Allen <a href="https://x.com/USAttyPirro/status/2048246351230599633">has already been charged</a> with using a firearm during a crime of violence and assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon, with U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro adding that “many more charges” will be leveled at the man as the investigation continues.
Authorities say Allen forced his way through a security checkpoint just outside the ballroom where the annual dinner was underway Saturday night. The event, attended by roughly 2,000–2,500 guests including cabinet officials, journalists, and the First Lady, quickly descended into panic as Secret Service agents engaged the suspect.
“A man charged a security checkpoint armed with multiple weapons, and he was taken down by some very brave members of the Secret Service,” Trump said shortly after the incident, later describing the attacker as a “would-be assassin.”
According to CBS News, Allen opened fire outside the ballroom where the president and other officials were gathered, discharging between five and eight rounds during the incident. The president and First Lady Melania Trump were safely evacuated, and no attendees suffered serious injuries.
At least one Secret Service agent was struck by gunfire but was protected by a ballistic vest and is expected to recover. Officials say the suspect was subdued at the scene and taken into custody without being fatally wounded.

Washington, D.C., interim police chief Jeff Carroll confirmed the suspect was believed to have been staying at the hotel, giving him a potential pathway past earlier layers of security.
“At this point, it does appear he is a lone actor, a lone gunman,” Carroll said, noting the investigation remains ongoing.
Secret Service Director Sean Curran defended the response, emphasizing that the layered security posture functioned as intended in stopping the attacker before he could reach the main event space.
Still, the breach is likely to prompt renewed scrutiny of security protocols at major political gatherings, particularly given the high-profile nature of the correspondents’ dinner.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2026/04/26/correspondents-dinner-shooting-trump-blanche-00892236">said</a>, “It appears he purchased these firearms the past couple years. We don’t know how those firearms ended up in his possession in D.C.” Federal agents were seen conducting a search of his Torrance residence late Saturday night as part of the ongoing investigation.
Allen’s background adds another layer to the story. According to law enforcement sources, he earned a mechanical engineering degree from the California Institute of Technology in 2017 and later completed a master’s degree in computer science at California State University, Dominguez Hills. He was working as an instructor with C2 Education, a national tutoring and test preparation firm, and had been recognized internally as “Teacher of the Month” in late 2024.
Federal Election Commission records also show a $25 donation from an individual matching his profile to ActBlue, a major Democratic fundraising platform, in October 2024.
Authorities have also confirmed that Allen&#8217;s social media footprint included &#8220;anti-Trump and anti-Christian rhetoric,&#8221; and he&#8217;d <a href="https://x.com/SteveGuest/status/2048399274799517950">shared posts</a> on leftwing site Bluesky calling for Trump to be &#8220;immediately removed from office and tried for high crimes.&#8221;

Despite the emerging personal details, authorities have not established a definitive motive. Blanche said investigators believe Allen was targeting members of the Trump administration, though not any specific individual.
“He was trying to just breach his way in and take whoever he could,” one law enforcement source said.
Trump, for his part, downplayed any connection to ongoing geopolitical tensions, saying he did not believe the attack was linked to the U.S.-Israel conflict involving Iran.
The incident is the latest in a series of threats and attempted attacks targeting the president in recent years, underscoring persistent security concerns around major political events. Officials were quick to emphasize that the system ultimately worked, with the suspect stopped before reaching his intended target area.
Allen remains in federal custody and is expected to be arraigned in the coming days. Investigators continue to examine his movements, communications, and potential planning in the lead-up to the attack as authorities work to determine how the breach occurred and whether any warning signs were missed.

A BLM chapter founder has just gone viral for getting into a brawl with his female colleague.
Clyde McLemore, the executive director of BLM in Lake County, Illinois, got into a physical altercation with Nyesha Hill. It took place in a hallway, underneath the BLM banner. It&#8217;s like it was staged. According to reports, the pair — allegedly, reportedly — clashed after Hill walked into the office and demanded money from McLemore for cigarettes.
You can&#8217;t make this up. If you turned this script into Hollywood, they&#8217;d say it&#8217;s too on the nose.
She goes into the BLM office, which is supposed to be about social justice and defending the rights of oppressed black people, and she says: “Yeah, give me some of that BLM money. I want to go buy some menthols. I want to go buy some unfiltered Newports.”
And he says he’s not going to give her the money. She says this is crazy — you’ve been blowing the BLM money not on social justice or helping people, but on gambling.
Then they start punching each other.

According to this woman’s report to police, she said, “I told him, ‘It’s not fair that I come here and I work and you running around taking care of other things that don’t got nothing to do with Black Lives Matter with Black Lives Matter money. I’m the one that make this joint work.”
She says she makes it work, and he’s running around spending the money on things that have nothing to do with BLM. At least she wants to buy cigarettes. Plenty of black people smoke cigarettes. Come on — she says she makes it work.
Now, I guess we&#8217;d have to define what “work” is. What work is actually being done here? What does BLM do?
Even the national leaders and founders of BLM spent the money buying themselves beautiful homes in Southern California. What is the work here?
The work is going out in the streets, protesting, agitating, rioting, in some cases, looting stores, stealing merchandise, and pressuring corporations and government institutions for money. Then the money ends up being used on things like cigarettes or gambling.
And in this case, the argument from the woman was that at least the money should go to something like cigarettes rather than gambling.

Then there&#8217;s the final twist: both of them ended up with lip injuries after punching each other, but neither wanted to press charges.
Why?
The woman told officers she didn&#8217;t want to see a black man go to jail.
And people like Mitt Romney marched with these groups at one point. Some people posted black squares on social media or donated money, believing they were supporting a movement for justice.
The smart BLM leaders used the money for personal purchases like homes, while local disputes like this one were happening inside chapters.
