In response to the Trump administration&#8217;s announcement that the family of the accused terrorist who attacked a group of Jews in Colorado, was being deported, USA Today ran a piece bemoaning the fate of the suspect’s high-school daughter, who just graduated and said she wanted to be a doctor.

Mohamed Soliman, 45, planned the vicious attack — in which he hurled Molotov cocktails at Jews at a pro-Israel rally, setting them afire and injuring 12 people while yelling “Free Palestine” — for a year but <a href="https://6abc.com/post/boulder-attack-updates-suspect-mohamed-sabry-soliman-booked-charges-act-terror-makeshift-flamethrower/16631344/">waited</a> until his daughter graduated high school to carry it out. He was charged with 16 counts of attempted first-degree murder. According to the Department of Homeland Security, Soliman — born in Egypt —  is in the U.S. illegally, entering the country in August 2022 on a B2 visa and filing for asylum in September 2022, eventually receiving a work permit that expired in March of this year. Vice President Kamala Harris said this week that several major newspapers let her down by declining to endorse her in the final stretch of the 2024 presidential campaign.
Harris made the remarks during an interview on &#8220;The Breakfast Club&#8221; Tuesday morning when asked by co-host Charlamagne Tha God: &#8220;How do you feel, Madam Vice President, about these major publications like The LA Times, The Washington Post, refusing to endorse somebody for President?&#8221;
&#8220;You know, Charlamagne, it&#8217;s disappointing, no doubt,&#8221; she responded. &#8220;But the other piece of it is it gets back to my point about who is Donald Trump.&#8221;

“The Washington Post will not be making an endorsement of a presidential candidate in this election,” the Editorial Board said in a statement. “Nor in any future presidential election. We are returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates.”

USA Today became the third national news outlet not to endorse a presidential candidate this cycle, rejecting demands from staffers to publicly back Vice President Kamala Harris for president just one week before Election Day.
The outlet previously endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020 – the editorial board’s first presidential endorsement in its history – but will not endorse Harris in 2024, The Hill <a href="https://thehill.com/homenews/media/4958134-300-gannett-outlets-not-endorsing-presidential-national-races/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. This includes more than 200 Gannett-owned outlets across the country, however, those outlets can endorse local politicians.
“None of the USA TODAY Network publications are endorsing in presidential or national races,” Lark-Marie Antón, a spokesperson for USA Today, told the Hill on Monday.
“While USA TODAY will not endorse for president, local editors at publications across the USA TODAY Network have the discretion to endorse at a state or local level,” Antón said in a different statement sent to the Hill. “Many have decided not to endorse individual candidates, but rather, endorse key local and state issues on the ballot that impact the community.”
“Why are we doing this? Because we believe America’s future is decided locally – one race at a time,” the spokesperson continued. “And with more than 200 publications across the nation, our public service is to provide readers with the facts that matter and the trusted information they need to make informed decisions.”

Last week, the Los Angeles Times became the first major outlet not to endorse in the presidential race after the editorial board proposed supporting Harris, even though it had endorsed every Democrat presidential candidate since Barack Obama in 2008, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/los-angeles-times-snubs-kamala-wont-endorse-in-2024-white-house-race" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The decision not to endorse reportedly came from Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong, a wealthy biotech entrepreneur who bought the newspaper six years ago.
A spokesperson for the outlet didn’t deny reports about the rejected endorsement, telling those who asked: “We do not comment on internal discussions or decisions about editorials or endorsements.”
Following the decision, the head of the Times&#8217; editorial board, Mariel Garza, announced she would resign from the paper, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/head-of-la-times-editorial-board-quits-after-paper-declines-to-endorse-kamala" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“I am resigning because I want to make it clear that I am not okay with us being silent,” Garza <a href="https://www.cjr.org/business_of_news/los-angeles-times-editorials-editor-resigns-after-owner-blocks-presidential-endorsement.php" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> the Columbia Journalism Review. “In dangerous times, honest people need to stand up. This is how I’m standing up.”
“I didn’t think we were going to change our readers’ minds—our readers, for the most part, are Harris supporters,” Garza added. “We’re a very liberal paper. I didn’t think we were going to change the outcome of the election in California.”
The Washington Post followed the Times in an announcement that it also would not endorse in the presidential race after its editorial board proposed backing Harris, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/all-hell-breaks-loose-after-washington-post-declines-to-endorse-kamala" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“The Washington Post will not be making an endorsement of a presidential candidate in this election,” the Post Editorial Board said in a statement. “Nor in any future presidential election. We are returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates.”
“We recognize that this will be read in a range of ways, including as a tacit endorsement of one candidate, or as a condemnation of another, or as an abdication of responsibility,” the paper added. “That is inevitable. We don’t see it that way.”

Multiple legacy media outlets that covered the FBI&#8217;s report on violent crime going down in 2022 have ignored the bureau&#8217;s <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/fbi-stealth-edits-crime-stats-obliterates-democrat-and-media-talking-point" target="_blank" rel="noopener">major revision,</a> which shows that violent crime increased that year.
In September 2023, the FBI claimed that data showed violent crime decreased by 2.1% in 2022 compared to 2021. A report from <a href="https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2024/10/16/stealth_edit_fbi_quietly_revises_violent_crime_stats_1065396.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RealClearInvestigations</a> (RCI) on Wednesday, however, revealed that the FBI &#8220;quietly revised&#8221; those numbers to show that violent crime increased by 4.5% in 2022. <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/09/23/violent-crime-declined-2023-fbi-report/75349314007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">USA Today</a>, <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/10/16/us/fbi-crime-data-murders.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New York Times</a>, <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2023/10/16/fbi-crime-statistics/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post</a>, and the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/fbi-crime-report-violence-property-carjacking-murder-fa7c6e3879d3bf16f93bdfa42683b100" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press</a> covered the FBI&#8217;s report last year, but as of Thursday afternoon, none of those legacy outlets have published any reports — or provided any notes on previous stories — after the FBI revised its data to show that violent crime increased.
The FBI also tried to keep the revision under wraps as RCI only &#8220;discovered the change through a cryptic reference on the FBI website.&#8221;
&#8220;But there is no mention that the numbers increased. One only sees the change by downloading the FBI’s new crime data and comparing it to the file released last year,&#8221; John R. Lott wrote for RCI.
The FBI&#8217;s 2023 report has been used by Democrats and the legacy media to counter former President Donald Trump&#8217;s focus on violent crime under the Biden-Harris administration. Trump was even &#8220;fact-checked&#8221; by ABC News moderator David Muir during his debate against Vice President Kamala Harris when Trump said that violent crime had gone up under his opponent&#8217;s watch.
&#8220;Crime here is up and through the roof. Despite their fraudulent claims they make, crime in this country is through the roof,&#8221; Trump <a href="https://x.com/search?q=fbi%20crime%20data&amp;src=typed_query" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> during the September 10 ABC News debate. &#8220;And we have a new form of crime. It&#8217;s called migrant crime, and it&#8217;s happening at levels that nobody thought possible.&#8221;

Last year, the AP hailed the FBI&#8217;s report on violent crime stats as a return to pre-COVID pandemic numbers. The Washington Post article included a quote from a crime analyst who called the report “substantially improved” over the FBI&#8217;s 2021 report, claiming the 2022 report added “a level of certainty that we didn’t have” in 2021.
According to the FBI&#8217;s revised data, there were 1,699 more murders nationally in 2022 than in 2021. The revised data also showed 7,780 more rapes, 33,459 more robberies, and 37,091 more aggravated assaults. Lott told <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fbi-quietly-updates-crime-data-show-big-jump-violence-under-biden-harris-admin-shocking" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> on Wednesday that &#8220;for a year after the 2022 data was put out, we were having headlines, news articles after news articles saying, &#8216;Violent crime is falling, people mistakenly or erroneously believe that it&#8217;s increasing.'&#8221;
&#8220;And, you know, and they were relying on this data,&#8221; he added. &#8220;But you don&#8217;t see any corrections in the news, saying, ‘Oops, the FBI data that we relied on was wrong, that rather than a drop, there was actually an increase that had occurred.’&#8221;

Daily Wire reporter Megan Basham’s new book “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Shepherds-Sale-Evangelical-Leaders-Leftist-ebook/dp/B0CRQGNLMY">Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda</a>” hit the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists on Wednesday after the book was released last week. 
“Shepherds for Sale” reached the #12 spot on the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/books/best-sellers/combined-print-and-e-book-nonfiction/">New York Times</a> bestseller list and the #109 spot on the <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/booklist/type/nonfiction/date/2024-08-07">USA Today</a> list among all books, competing with new releases such as Jonathan Haidt’s “The Anxious Generation” and Erik Larson’s “The Demon of Unrest.” It’s the first time Basham has hit the bestseller lists.

“Shepherds for Sale” also details how a megachurch pastor pushed fellow pastors to move their views on sexuality to the Left and how leftist talking points on climate change and “systemic racism” have crept into American churches. Following the book’s release, Basham urged evangelical leaders to “get serious about tracing the secular Left influences in any number of evangelical institutions.” 
Basham’s book caused a stir on social media after its release as some of the evangelical leaders exposed in “Shepherds for Sale” have pushed back against the Daily Wire reporter. One pastor, Gavin Ortlund, even released a podcast episode on Basham’s book after she highlighted some of his troubling comments on climate change in “Shepherds for Sale.” Despite some pastors’ efforts to discredit Basham’s work, many Christians have heaped praise on the book.
“When church leadership does not know who is behind an organization, they should not agree to sign their public statements or participate in their coalitions. Also, the time for politely ignoring what is going on has come to an end,” Basham said. “It is time to follow the model of J. Gresham Machen in the 1920s and begin to directly call out compromise, capitulation, and infiltration. As he has stated, liberalism is an altogether different religion than Christianity.”

USA Today may have violated its own ethical standards by deleting an op-ed about protecting women’s sports by Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) without his knowledge or explanation to the public. 
While USA Today <a href="https://cm.usatoday.com/ethical-conduct/">promises</a> to provide its readers with “transparency” about its journalistic processes it left its audience and Kennedy guessing for days as to why it deleted an opinion article written by the Republican senator on keeping males out of female sports. 
The op-ed, titled “Is transgender inclusion more important than women’s sports?” was published on May 11 but was deleted from the USA Today Network newspapers by May 14. In the op-ed, Kennedy argued that it was harmful to girls for males identifying as female to be allowed to compete in women’s sports. 
For the first 10 days after deleting Kennedy’s article, audiences were led to believe there had been a technical error. However, after Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/usa-today-newspapers-quietly-delete-gop-senators-op-ed-trans-athletes-without-telling-him">reached</a> out to inquire about the deletion, USA Today added a note to a link to the <a href="https://www.dailycomet.com/story/news/2024/05/24/john-kennedy-questions-whether-transgender-inclusion-is-more-important-than-womens-sports/73639180007/">article</a> saying it had not met its editorial standards.
The delay in explaining what was going on to USA Today readers and Kennedy appears to fly in the face of one of USA Today’s <a href="https://cm.usatoday.com/ethical-conduct">ethical guidelines</a>, which says that the outlet “will explain to audiences our journalistic processes to promote transparency and engagement.”
Kennedy says the newspaper acted anything but transparently.
“One of America’s largest outlets censored a common sense position that an overwhelming majority of Americans and Louisianians hold,&#8221; a spokesperson for Kennedy told The Daily Wire. &#8220;And they tried to hide the fact that they squelched it. It took the USA Today network well over a week to admit to the public that they had secretly removed the senator’s piece, which raises a lot of questions about some mainstream media’s willingness to be transparent with American readers.”
Initially, the op-ed was published by eight Louisiana newspapers owned by USA Today without any requests to Kennedy for edits. It was then removed, with no opportunity for Kennedy to make changes, and without his knowledge. After discovering it had been removed, Kennedy’s team attempted to understand why the article had been deleted. 
Emails and phone calls show that the process behind the removal was anything but transparent.  
Kennedy’s team was first told that the op-ed had been removed because it hadn’t included any links to citations despite the fact that the version submitted by Kennedy had over a dozen citations. 
After corresponding with one local reporter who they had submitted the op-ed to the paper through, a spokesperson made contact with Misty Castile, the editor of the Shreveport Times and four other Gannett papers. The spokesperson spoke with Castile twice on May 20, six days after the deletion of the article. 
In the first phone call, Castile told a Kennedy team member that the op-ed had been removed because it had no citations. She also said that a “process problem” was what led to the op-ed being pulled without Kennedy’s knowledge, according to a transcript of the call shared with The Daily Wire. 
In a second phone call, Castile added that there were concerns about language used in the op-ed, adding that she was waiting to hear from others about more specific problems. 
“You know, I do know there were some specific questions about language, and, and part of the reason that we&#8217;re talking to standards is I&#8217;m trying to get very specific information on what language they were discussing—if it was just that they didn&#8217;t see citations, and, so, without the citations it, it, it was, it looked worse on the face that it was—I&#8217;m waiting on answers,” she said. 
Later emails from Castile stated that Kennedy’s use of the terms “biological male,” and “biological female,” were “loaded terms” outside of the outlet’s editorial standards. The outlet also took issue with Kennedy saying that men competing against women in sports was similar to NBA star Zion Williamson playing against middle school boys.
Two newspapers that ran the article, including the Houma Today and the Daily Advertiser, both still have the op-ed promoted on their X pages though the links to the article go to the editorial standards explanation.  
USA Today did not return a request for comment.

Sen. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/john-kennedy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">John Kennedy</a> (R-LA) learned that a column he wrote about protecting women’s sports had been removed from several USA Today Network newspapers because of &#8220;inflammatory&#8221; language out of the paper’s editorial standards, Fox News <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/usa-today-newspapers-quietly-delete-gop-senators-op-ed-trans-athletes-without-telling-him">reported</a> Friday. Kennedy told the outlet that he was not aware that the column had been removed until he was informed of broken links to the article.
Kennedy told Fox that the &#8220;USA TODAY Network apparently does not like the way I express myself.&#8221;
&#8220;They think they are the speech police. Drunk on certainty and virtue, they think they are our moral teacher. This attitude is why so many Americans have lost confidence in the media. The media is not going to win that trust back until they return to neutrality instead of advocacy,&#8221; he added.
The article, titled &#8220;Is transgender inclusion more important than women’s sports?&#8221; had been published on May 11 by several Louisiana-based papers owned by Gannett, the parent company of USA Today.
&#8220;Men and women don’t compete for the same reasons,” the Republican senator said in his column. “Yet transgender activists want athletic institutions to ignore these obvious physical differences so transgender athletes can feel included, even if it hurts biological girls in the process.”
Gannett Opinion Editor and Vice President of Standards and Ethics Michael McCarter said that Kennedy’s column did not meet the company’s “ethical standard” and that he had been given a chance to “revise his language.”
&#8220;We recognize the importance of sharing varying perspectives and the vital role we play convening conversations,” McCarter said. “Sen. John Kennedy’s submitted opinion column did not meet our ethical guidelines, which state we will treat people with respect. After further review, our editorial team removed the column from our website. Sen. Kennedy has been given the opportunity to revise his language &#8211; not his viewpoint &#8211; to adhere with our standards.”

According to emails with the executive editor of the Shreveport Times, a USA Today Network newspaper, Kennedy’s use of the terms “biological male,” and “biological female,” were “loaded terms” outside of the outlet&#8217;s editorial standards. The outlet also took issue with Kennedy saying that men competing against women in sports was similar to NBA star Zion Williamson playing against middle school boys.

USA Today appeared to cave to pressure from Team Biden after the campaign called out the news outlet during a Monday press call for publishing what it viewed as a “particularly egregiously false” headline on former President Donald Trump&#8217;s abortion statement.
After Trump released a video statement Monday morning saying he wants states to have the final say on abortion laws, USA Today published an article with the headline: “‘The will of the people’: Trump opposes national abortion ban; says states should decide.&#8221; An <a href="https://web.archive.org/web/20240408142300/https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/elections/2024/04/08/donald-trump-national-abortion-ban/73241518007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">archived version</a> of the article captured by Mediaite shows that later on Monday, USA Today changed the headline to &#8220;Donald Trump says states should decide abortion policy, avoids talk of a national ban,&#8221; with no editor&#8217;s note explaining the major revision.
Mediaite <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/news/usa-today-changes-trump-abortion-headline-after-biden-campaign-torpedoes-them-in-press-call-see-deleted-version/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that the change came just two hours after the Biden campaign blasted USA Today over the headline. The <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSdopGjvI2w">press call</a> included Biden Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, Deputy Communications Director Brooke Goren, and pro-abortion advocate Kaitlyn Kash.
&#8220;One particularly egregiously false headline even said Trump, quote, ‘opposes a national abortion ban and will leave it up to the will of the people,’&#8221; one Biden-Harris staffer said.
USA Today told <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/usa-today-reportedly-changes-headline-trumps-abortion-stance-after-biden-harris-campaign-complain">Fox News</a> in a statement, &#8220;Our mission is to report the facts as accurately as possible. As part of our routine editorial process with breaking news, headline updates are not uncommon. In this instance, the headline was updated to more precisely reflect the story,&#8221;
In his Monday statement, Trump said he &#8220;proudly&#8221; takes responsibility for the Supreme Court&#8217;s overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, which opened the door for states to limit or completely ban abortion. He added that he is &#8220;strongly in favor of&#8221; exceptions for rape, incest, and the life of the mother.
“At the end of the day, this is about the will of the people,” Trump said, adding later, “You must follow your heart on this issue, but remember: you must also win elections to restore our culture and, in fact, to save our country.”
Immediately following Trump&#8217;s statement, President Joe Biden said Trump would still sign federal abortion limitations if he is back in the White House.

After the Arizona Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/arizona-supreme-court-upholds-1864-law-protecting-unborn-babies-from-abortion-in-nearly-all-cases" target="_blank" rel="noopener">upheld</a> an 1864 law protecting unborn babies from abortion in nearly every case on Tuesday, the Left wasted no time slamming &#8220;extreme abortion laws&#8221; that are &#8220;now enforceable because Trump ended Roe.”

A columnist for <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/usa-today">USA Today</a> compared Republican investigations into alleged misconduct by Hunter Biden to stigmatizing and abusing an addict.
The column opens with an emotional description of a teary intervention held by the Biden family to help their son Hunter, who at the time was addicted to crack cocaine – Hunter reportedly spent thousands of dollars on the drug in a matter of weeks and was <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-fact-check-hunter-biden-not-dishonora/fact-checkhunter-bidens-military-discharge-was-administrative-not-dishonorable-idUSKBN26M6QI">discharged</a> from the Navy after testing positive for cocaine in 2014.
“My son – like a lot of people, like a lot of people you know at home – had a drug problem,” then-candidate Biden said during the 2020 campaign. “He’s overtaken it, he’s fixed it, he’s worked on it. And I’m proud of him.”
“For most Americans addiction is a private family affair,” <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/06/12/hunter-biden-addiction-american-families-opioid/70222851007/">USA Today</a> columnist Michael Collins opined. “Hunter Biden’s struggles have played out in public and in the political sphere inhabited by his father. Further complicating matters: Republicans have repeatedly sought to use the federal investigation into Hunter Biden’s private affairs, and at times even his drug addiction, as part of their campaign to portray the Biden family as corrupt.”
The column was published in the wake of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/alleged-biden-bribery-scheme-comer-says-fbi-has-more-informant-docs-plans-to-see-them">revelations</a> that a highly credible source had testified to the FBI that Hunter and Joe Biden were involved in an alleged international bribery scheme where they were each funneled millions of dollars through at least 20 shell companies. Of particular note was the allegation that $5 million was transferred to the Bidens from Ukrainian energy company Burisma, around the same time that then-Vice President Biden used his influence to get a Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating Burisma fired.
“‘You’re not getting the billion dollars,’” Biden <a href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=797504800724150">said,</a> recounting a threat he made to withhold U.S. aid if the Ukrainian government did not comply with his demand. “‘I’m leaving in six hours. If the prosecutor’s not fired, you’re not getting the money.’&#8230; Well, son of a b****, he got fired.”
In a speech on the Senate floor today, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said that the continued investigation into the Biden family had uncovered evidence, recorded on a 1023 form provided by a confidential human source, that foreign nationals had compromising material on both Joe and Hunter Biden related to their alleged overseas dealings.
“The 1023 produced to that House committee redacted reference that the foreign national who allegedly bribed Joe and Hunter Biden allegedly has audio recordings of his conversation with them. Seventeen such recordings,” Grassley <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senator-reveals-fbi-informant-file-references-17-biden-audio-recordings">said</a>.
The column characterized the investigations as political mudslinging, and, in the words of one recovering addict, “probably the most despicable thing I’ve seen in my life.”
“If some Republican’s child had these issues and a Democrat did the same thing, I’d say the same thing,” said Brandon Swinehart, a former addict who lived on the streets of San Francisco for two years. “This has nothing to do with competency or being president. This is someone’s family. It’s a family affair. Please stay out of it.”
The column focused on how Hunter Biden&#8217;s drug addiction has often been brought up by Republicans in conjunction with and as supporting evidence for allegations of corruption – and insinuated that such tactics were politically motivated smears. The column even included praise for Hunter Biden’s openness about his experience, noting that his public addiction and recovery could lessen the stigma surrounding a common social ill.
“There’s really no one who is immune to this,” said Alexis Pleus, whose son Jeff Dugon died of a heroin overdose. “It doesn’t matter – race, class, gender, what your income is, in the public eye, out of the public eye. Anyone can be affected. No one should be judged for this. Absolutely no one.”
Biden himself has reiterated such arguments.
&#8220;I&#8217;ll bet you there&#8217;s not a family you know that didn&#8217;t have somebody in the family who had a drug problem, or an alcohol problem,&#8221; the president said in an interview with CBS in early 2021.

In a &#8220;Real Coffee with Scott Adams&#8221; video posted Wednesday, Adams discussed a Rasmussen poll that nearly half of black Americans were unable to agree with the phrase, &#8220;It&#8217;s okay to be white.&#8221; Adams&#8217; video, in which he suggested the poll results indicate that blacks are a &#8220;hate group,&#8221; went viral.
&#8220;The USA Today network will no longer publish the Dilbert comic due to recent discriminatory comments by its creator,&#8221; Gannett said in a statement Friday, adding, &#8220;At [Gannett], we lead with inclusion and strive to maintain a respectful and equitable environment for the diverse communities we serve nationwide.&#8221;

Cleveland’s The Plain Dealer similarly said Friday that “Dilbert” will no longer be published in any of its papers over Adams’ “racist rant.”
“This is not a difficult decision,” Plain Dealer/Cleveland.com VP of content Chris Quinn <a href="https://variety.com/2023/digital/news/dilbert-canceled-newspapers-scott-adams-racist-1235535643/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>. “We are not a home for those who espouse racism. We certainly do not want to provide them with financial support.&#8221;
&#8220;Until we decide what to replace ‘Dilbert’ with, you’ll likely see a gray box where it has been appearing,” he added.
Adams in the video joked that he&#8217;s been &#8220;identifying as black&#8221; for some time, but must have accidentally joined a &#8220;hate group,&#8221; based on a recent Rasmussen poll. The poll, which surveyed 1,000 people, showed that 53% of black people agreed with the statement &#8220;It&#8217;s okay to be white,&#8221; leaving 47% unable to say they agree.
“Based on the current way things are going, the best advice I would give to white people is to get the hell away from black people. Just get the f*** away,” Adams continued, after commenting further on race relations and crime. “Wherever you have to go, just get away. Because there’s no fixing this. This can’t be fixed. So I don’t think it makes any sense as a white citizen of America to try to help black citizens anymore. It doesn’t make sense. There’s no longer a rational impulse. So I’m going to back off on being helpful to black America because it doesn’t seem like it pays off.”
Adams on Saturday morning reacted to the backlash online.

USA Today, other Newspapers Drop ‘Dilbert’ Over Creator Scott Adams' Racially Charged Comments

An opinion piece in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/usa-today" target="_blank" rel="noopener">USA Today</a> lauded Democratic candidate John Fetterman for his performance against Republican rival <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/mehmet-oz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mehmet Oz</a>, who the author claimed &#8220;belittled and bullied&#8221; his opponent in the only debate ahead of the contentious Pennsylvania Senate <a href="http://dailywire.com/topic/2022-midterms" target="_blank" rel="noopener">election</a>.
Fetterman, the commonwealth’s lieutenant governor who has struggled with cognition following a stroke in May, floundered during last week’s first and only <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/confident-oz-and-struggling-fetterman-clash-in-pennsylvania-senate-debate" target="_blank" rel="noopener">debate</a> between the two nominees. Luke Visconti, an opinion contributor for USA Today and the founder of DiversityInc, a publication focused on diversity management, contended in a Sunday <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/voices/2022/10/30/john-fetterman-stroke-highlights-bullying-misinformation-disabilities/10618369002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">article</a> that Fetterman was “brave” for facing his opponent.
“As I watched Fetterman’s debate performance, I did so with great pride and admiration … Average people are often crushed by the circumstances he’s fighting to rise above,” Visconti, a fellow stroke victim, asserted. “I don&#8217;t think it was ‘painful’ to watch him in his debate, as some have suggested. It was a courageous example of a person rising above an obstacle in his path, willing to suffer indignities from people trying to take advantage of his disability as well as simply cruel and ignorant people.”
Commentators on both sides of the aisle have nevertheless <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/it-requires-competency-former-pennsylvania-senator-rick-santorum-on-whether-john-fetterman-can-do-the-job-with-serious-health-issues" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called attention</a> to Fetterman’s health struggles and the questions they raise about his service in Congress, which Visconti failed to address. The editorial board of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/pittsburghs-top-newspaper-endorses-oz-sees-through-fettermans-blue-collar-branding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noted</a> that Fetterman has wrongly characterized Oz’s “legitimate calls” for him to release health records as “mean-spirited and insensitive,” which indicates a worrying lack of transparency. Gisele Barreto Fetterman, the wife of John Fetterman, likewise <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/ableist-toward-the-disability-community-john-fettermans-wife-tells-nbc-to-apologize-for-asking-about-his-stroke" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rebuked</a> an NBC News journalist who reported on his cognitive challenges by calling for “some accountability” and labeling her an “ableist.”
Visconti, however, said that critics were equating an “auditory processing disorder” with a “lack of intelligence” in a bigoted manner, although Oz has never appeared to have questioned Fetterman’s intellect. “This type of bullying cannot be accepted,” he continued. “The fact that anyone would leverage a widely held misconception for political gain, especially a medical doctor, is disgusting.”
Visconti also cited a comment from an Oz campaign staffer who said that Fetterman could have avoided a stroke if he had “ever eaten a vegetable in his life,” as well as a mocking list of concessions Oz was prepared to make after Fetterman continually refused to debate him. Among the items on the list was a promise not to “intentionally hurt John’s feelings” and to allow “John to have all of his notes in front of him.” Fetterman struggled last week despite the Oz campaign agreeing to let him use a closed captioning system placed behind the moderators.
“John Fetterman has demonstrated himself to be a fighter — a man with courage, drive and a remarkable lack of self-pity. He also must have a great support system around him, especially a supportive and loving family,” Visconti remarked. “No matter how one feels about his political opinions, I think having leaders who have overcome substantial challenges with enough humility to expose themselves to public scrutiny encourage and embolden others who face challenges.”
Despite Visconti’s call for empathy and understanding while Fetterman recovers, some have questioned whether the nominee would truly make any more substantial improvements. Huma Sheikh, a neurologist specializing in migraines and strokes, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/neurologist-who-watched-fetterman-debate-casts-doubt-on-prospect-for-further-recovery" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> NewsNation anchor Chris Cuomo after the debate that Fetterman likely has Broca’s aphasia, where victims see the most improvement within the first three to six months.
The race for Pennsylvania’s open seat in the Senate could determine which party controls Congress. Over the past few weeks, Oz has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trafalgar-founder-on-poll-indicating-pa-senate-race-tightening-people-starting-to-pay-attention" target="_blank" rel="noopener">gained in the polls</a> after months of Fetterman holding a substantial lead, rendering the contest a toss-up the week before Election Day.

USA Today was forced to delete nearly two dozen news articles this week after an internal investigation found that breaking news reporter Gabriela Miranda had allegedly fabricated sources and then gave investigators false evidence to try to cover up her actions.
“After receiving an external correction request, USA Today audited the reporting work of Gabriela Miranda,” the newspaper said in a statement. “The audit revealed that some individuals quoted were not affiliated with the organizations claimed and appeared to be fabricated. The existence of other individuals quoted could not be independently verified. In addition, some stories included quotes that should have been credited to others.”
Miranda, who <a href="http://web.archive.org/web/20220616233856/https://www.gabrielamirandaa.com/">says</a> on her own website that she has sources in the &#8220;Latinx&#8221; community, resigned from the newspaper and appeared to delete her Twitter account.
