Normally, it&#8217;s not a particularly big deal when various groups are invited to Washington to mark some special or ceremonial occasion. When an NFL team wins the Super Bowl, for instance, they get to go to the White House, shake hands with the president, and everyone goes about their day. The same is true when scientists are invited to celebrate their Nobel Prizes, or soldiers are honored for winning the Medal of Honor, or when families are invited to participate in the annual Easter Egg hunt. In cases like these, usually, there&#8217;s no big scandal that erupts after-the-fact. People show up, they participate in whatever the event is, and they leave.
But over the past year, one very notable exception to this rule has emerged, which is this: It&#8217;s becoming increasingly risky to invite LGBT influencers to descend on Washington.
Last summer, for example, a transgender social media personality went topless at a White House Pride Month event with children present. And then, earlier this year, a drag queen who was invited to the White House by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris was <a href="https://thepostmillennial.com/new-drag-queen-invited-to-white-house-by-joe-biden-and-kamala-harris-accused-of-sexual-assaults?utm_campaign=64470" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> of multiple sexual assaults. These are the kind of episodes that, if you&#8217;re the cynical type, might suggest that inviting prominent members of the &#8220;LGBT community&#8221; to Washington could carry some potential pitfalls. It&#8217;s the kind of thing that can backfire, in a way that other events with other guests are maybe less prone to.
Despite this sordid recent history, though, Democrats on Capitol Hill don&#8217;t seem discouraged in any way. In the spirit of inclusion, they&#8217;re continuing to encourage members of the &#8220;LGBT community&#8221; to come to Washington and make their voices heard. Just yesterday, in fact, so-called drag stars arrived in the nation&#8217;s capital to meet with lawmakers in the House of Representatives. They called it the &#8220;Drag Lobby Day.&#8221; The drag queens were there alongside the group &#8220;MoveOn Political Action&#8221; to lobby on behalf of a couple pieces of legislation.
In any event, the first bill that MoveOn and their drag queens want to see passed is called &#8220;The Equality Act,&#8221; which would make &#8220;sexual orientation and gender identity&#8221; into a protected class. The second agenda item is a resolution called the &#8220;Transgender Bill of Rights,&#8221; which according to The Hill, would &#8220;strengthen civil rights protections for trans and nonbinary Americans.&#8221; So apparently, this special class of people — which no one can even define, really — needs its own Bill of Rights. The one we have just isn&#8217;t good enough for them. They want that one, but then another one too, on top of it.
Nothing they&#8217;re requesting makes any sense, as you&#8217;ll see shortly, and as you can already predict. But first — even before we look at what these people are asking for — this whole &#8220;Drag Lobby Day&#8221; turned into a complete farce before it even began. No one could possibly have predicted that sending men in dresses to Capitol Hill to lobby for legislation would turn into a farce, but that&#8217;s what happened. Somehow, for the third time in a row, LGBT activists have managed to arrive in Washington and completely beclown themselves. 
Behold this early morning interview yesterday on CNN with one of the drag stars-turned lobbyists, who uses the name &#8220;Brigitte Bandit.&#8221; Keep in mind, as you watch this, that CNN will cut off interviews with representatives of the Trump campaign. They&#8217;ll cut away from speeches from Donald Trump. But they&#8217;ll allow interviews like this one to air — before 9:00a.m. no less, when some people are still eating their breakfast — because they&#8217;re far more important than anything the leading presidential candidate could possibly say. Watch:

It&#8217;s very scary to dress like that, we’re told. To which a normal person responds: Okay, so then just… don’t dress like that? But Brigitte Bandit just can&#8217;t resist. And that&#8217;s real bravery. This is Brigitte Bandit&#8217;s sacrifice. It&#8217;s why we need a &#8220;Trans Bill of Rights,&#8221; supposedly. In any other decade, we&#8217;d be asking why someone like &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; would even think of dressing like this for a national television news interview. But it&#8217;s 2024, and we all know that dressing like this is how you get jobs in the White House communications department. Maybe that&#8217;s the play here.
As for the substance of what &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; said, a few points need to be made. First of all, &#8220;feeling safe&#8221; is a luxury at this point, in cities all over the country. No one has a constitutional right to &#8220;feel safe,&#8221; regardless of where they go or how they dress. If you&#8217;re going to walk around like that, trying to attract as much attention as possible, that&#8217;s not something we need a new &#8220;bill of rights&#8221; to solve. You can solve it yourself by wearing normal clothes and avoiding the hood. Those are your options.

Additionally, it&#8217;s actually not clear which specific lawmakers were involved in this lobbying effort. There&#8217;s the claim from &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; that both Republicans and Democrats gave an audience to these drag queen lobbyists, but it&#8217;s hard to find the names of these politicians, at least for now. There haven&#8217;t been a lot of videos coming out of this event, probably by design. And that&#8217;s too bad, because any lawmaker who had any part in inviting &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; to the nation&#8217;s capital should be impeached immediately and removed from office. That&#8217;s especially true if any Republicans were involved. 
But it doesn’t appear that very many people were involved at all, which may tell you something. As of now, one of the only members of Congress that was apparently in some way involved in this insanity was Jasmine Crockett of Texas. MoveOn claimed on their website that Crockett would meet with these drag queens, or at least participate in some kind of rally they were organizing after the fact. All we know is that on X/Twitter, Crockett responded to this picture of the three drag queens outside her office:

Now, if you&#8217;ve been following Jasmine Crockett&#8217;s contributions in Congress over the past few months, you might actually be impressed by these tweets. They&#8217;re easily the most coherent, grammatically correct sentences that she&#8217;s managed to produce all year. Yet, despite MoveOn’s claims, it doesn’t appear that Crockett did meet with them at all. In fact <a href="https://x.com/repjasmine/status/1805663899712471170?s=46&amp;t=chv9Ja_gvmDx649oSGyDvw">she tweeted</a> later in the day: “So sad I missed you! Come back any time!”
So even Crockett didn’t want to be seen with these people. Instead she let them take a picture in front of her door, and that was it. Later that day the drag queen held a rally on the lawn of the Capitol building. I can’t find a single video of this event — I’m not saying the videos don’t exist, but I couldn’t find a single one. But the Spectator was on the ground and they report that “around 30” people showed up for the rally. It seems pretty clear that even the Democrats are starting to feel embarrassed by all of this. They recognize that the American people do not want drag queens setting the agenda in Washington. The American people want normalcy, and drag queens stand for the opposite of that. 
But not everyone in that party has gotten that memo. In fact this &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; character recently spoke at the Texas Democratic convention. And as part of that whole process, some of Brigitte&#8217;s <a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/GPp04ULWQAAdR44?format=jpg&amp;name=900x900" target="_blank" rel="noopener">social media posts</a> attracted a lot of attention. In particular, the one that reads: &#8220;I hate America but I love this bikini.&#8221;
A lot of people saw this post and had some questions for the Texas Democratic Convention. Why would we want this person to deliver any kind of lecture about American policy at a political convention? This is someone who admits to hating America — and that’s not even the most troubling thing about him. But they went ahead and invited &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; to speak at this convention in Texas anyway. Here&#8217;s part of the speech that resulted:

It goes on, but you get the idea. It&#8217;s the same stock speech you hear all the time from trans activists. It&#8217;s inaccurate, nonsensical, dishonest, and not remotely original. It boils down to: inject children with sterilizing hormones to affirm them, or you&#8217;re killing them. This is the kind of insight that the Texas Democratic Convention apparently desperately wanted to hear. This is the caliber of lobbyist that now walks the halls of the Capitol building.
It only gets worse when you look closely at the proposals that these &#8220;drag performers&#8221; want to pass. Let&#8217;s take the <a href="https://www.markey.senate.gov/news/press-releases/sen-markey-and-rep-jayapal-introduce-the-trans-bill-of-rights-ahead-of-international-transgender-day-of-visibility">&#8220;Transgender Bill of Rights</a>&#8221; first. Apparently, this resolution would:
<blockquote>&#8230;ensure that transgender and nonbinary people have access to services and public accommodations by amending the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to include gender identity.</blockquote>
Apparently, there&#8217;s a lot of trans-identifying individuals who are being refused public accommodations in this country. You may have never heard of this happening, because it&#8217;s not true. But that&#8217;s the claim the drag queen lobbyists are making.
But that&#8217;s not the only reason to pass this new bill of rights, according to these lobbyists. It&#8217;s also important, they say, because too few men are competing in women&#8217;s sports. Therefore, the new bill of rights will, &#8220;Amend Title IX to clarify that it protects students from discrimination based on gender identity and sex characteristics.&#8221; In other words, women&#8217;s sports would be outlawed.
For good measure, this new bill of rights would also, &#8220;codify the right to abortion and contraception,&#8221; as well as &#8220;invest in mental health services designed for transgender and nonbinary people.&#8221; It would also &#8220;require the Attorney General to designate a liaison within the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice dedicated to advising and overseeing enforcement of the civil rights of transgender people.&#8221; So we&#8217;d get more bureaucracy and abortion — two things that Democrats think we can never have enough of.
The other piece of legislation these activists want — The Equality Act — would rewrite even more of our existing laws. According to the activist group <a href="https://www.hrc.org/resources/equality" target="_blank" rel="noopener">HRC</a>: 
<blockquote>The Equality Act would amend existing civil rights law—including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Fair Housing Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, the Jury Selection and Services Act, and several laws regarding employment with the federal government—to explicitly include sexual orientation and gender identity as protected characteristics. The legislation also amends the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to prohibit discrimination in public spaces and services and federally funded programs on the basis of sex. Additionally, the Equality Act would update the public spaces and services covered in current law to include retail stores, services such as banks and legal services, and transportation services.</blockquote>
Again, we&#8217;re meant to conclude that Citibank and Walmart are turning away customers who claim to be transgender. The point of legislation like this, in case it&#8217;s not obvious, is to create a wave of new lawsuits that badger people into giving special treatment to &#8220;LGBTQ&#8221; customers and employees. If you have an LGTBQ employee who starts acting crazy, laws like this would make it virtually impossible to fire them. That&#8217;s the point. The goal is to empower activists. It&#8217;s to allow some of the least productive members of society to go after people who are actually contributing. In every way, this is contrary to the stated goal of the so-called LGBTQ movement from 20 years ago, which was to ensure that everyone had &#8220;equal rights.&#8221; As any sane person could have predicted, that&#8217;s out the window now.
For what it&#8217;s worth, none of this makes any sense under the law, either. As I discussed yesterday in the context of the Supreme Court case involving Tennessee&#8217;s ban on child castration, the idea that &#8220;gender identity&#8221; is a &#8220;protected characteristic&#8221; doesn&#8217;t work. Protected characteristics under civil rights law are things that are obvious, immutable, or distinguishing. And there is nothing about transgender identity identities that are obvious, immutable or distinguishing. These people claim that they can change their gender overnight.
All of that&#8217;s especially true for the &#8220;identities&#8221; of drag queens. They can just put on a new costume and change their &#8220;identity.&#8221; That&#8217;s why it&#8217;s actually kind of incredible that drag queens, of all people, are the ones lobbying for this legislation. Drag queens don&#8217;t even claim to actually identify as the female characters they play — which means that, in this case, they&#8217;re effectively calling for special legal protections for fictional characters. It&#8217;s no different than the furry community lobbying Congress for legal recognition (which I&#8217;m sure is where we&#8217;re headed).
This is what happens when you start haphazardly amending laws that were already imperfect to being with. At the very least, the word &#8220;immutable&#8221; used to mean something. It theoretically created some kind of limit on the number of special, protected categories the government could create. Now &#8220;Brigitte Bandit&#8221; and some other drag queens want to get rid of that. They want the government to continue creating preferred groups and showering them with benefits. People who admit that they hate America are showing up in costumes to make this argument, and elected members of Congress and the media are listening to them and taking them seriously (or at least pretending to).
That&#8217;s the &#8220;Drag Lobby Day,&#8221; summarized. No one exposed himself to children or got accused of sexual assault. So in that sense, it was an improvement from previous excursions to Washington. But if this lobbying effort was remotely successful — even if the Democrats were clearly embarrassed by it — then there&#8217;s a very good chance we&#8217;ll all have to deal with the consequences of this insanity very soon.

Video from January 6, 2021, released by House Republicans on Monday shows then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) acknowledging that she is responsible for not ensuring that law enforcement and the National Guard were &#8220;prepare[d] for more&#8221; during the Capitol riot.
In the newly-released footage posted to X by the House Oversight Subcommittee, Pelosi appears to be in the process of being evacuated from the U.S. Capitol as she rides in the back of a vehicle with staffers. Pelosi is seen discussing the riot that had broken out and expressing frustration that the National Guard wasn&#8217;t &#8220;there to begin with.&#8221;
&#8220;We have responsibility, Terri,&#8221; Pelosi said, appearing to talk to her chief of staff, Terri McCullough. &#8220;We did not have any accountability for what was going on there, and we should have.&#8221;
&#8220;This is ridiculous. You&#8217;re going to ask me in the middle of the thing when they&#8217;ve already breached the inaugural stuff that should we call the Capitol Police &#8230; I mean, the National Guard?&#8221; Pelosi added. &#8220;Why weren&#8217;t the National Guard there to begin with?&#8221;
McCullough began to answer, saying authorities &#8220;thought they had sufficient &#8230;&#8221; before Pelosi cut her off.
&#8220;No, it is not a question of how they had &#8230; they don&#8217;t know. They clearly didn&#8217;t know,&#8221; Pelosi said. &#8220;And I take responsibility for not having them just prepare for more.&#8221;

The video clip is part of 45 minutes of footage recently obtained by the House Oversight Subcommittee.
Democrats, including Pelosi, have spent more than three years accusing former President Donald Trump and his supporters of attempting to overturn the results of the 2020 election and foment an insurrection. Pelosi greenlit the House January 6 Select Committee, which spent months looking into the events of that day and hearing testimonies from Capitol Police officers and former Trump officials. The committee concluded by recommending insurrection charges against Trump.

Trump is also being tried in a Washington, D.C., court for alleged election interference, a trial unlikely to begin before the 2024 presidential election. Trump has pleaded not guilty to the election interference charges brought by special counsel Jack Smith.
House Republicans issued a report in 2022 on the Capitol breach, which <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/12/21/house-gop-report-faults-nancy-pelosi-for-jan-6-security-failures/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">found</a> that Democrat leaders were concerned about the &#8220;optics&#8221; of deploying the National Guard to quell the riot &#8220;in the aftermath of the Summer 2020 ‘Black Lives Matter’ protests.&#8221;  It took around four hours for the National Guard to respond and send troops to the Capitol.
Trump has accused Pelosi of bearing responsibility for the January 6 riot, <a href="https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=296429096418518" target="_blank" rel="noopener">saying</a> earlier this year, &#8220;I think it was an insurrection caused by Nancy Pelosi.&#8221;
A spokesman for Pelosi responded to the Oversight Subcommittee&#8217;s clip, telling Fox News, &#8220;Numerous independent fact-checkers have confirmed again and again that Speaker Pelosi did not plan her own assassination on January 6th.&#8221;
&#8220;As the footage in its entirety plainly shows, Speaker Pelosi sprang into action in response to the attack on the Capitol — mobilizing the defense of the Capitol, urging the Administration to deploy the National Guard and coordinating the continuity of government,&#8221; Pelosi&#8217;s office added. &#8220;Cherry-picked, out-of-context clips do not change the fact that the Speaker of the House is not in charge of the security of the Capitol Complex — on January 6th or any other day of the week. Three years later, House Republicans are still attempting to whitewash the deadly insurrection.&#8221;

Thursday night was Joe Biden&#8217;s big State of the Union address. The stakes were high because this is a very closely fought election. 
The president of the United States is ailing. He has been trailing in the polls to Donald Trump, his arch-nemesis. But all he really had to do was be alive and be normal.
He did the first thing, but he couldn&#8217;t do the second thing — at all. One wonders what exactly his team thought they were doing when they wrote his State of the Union address, which was extraordinarily divisive, polarizing, and quite nasty. Did they think the only way to make him energetic enough for the speech was to ramp him up so high that they could not ramp him back down?
Whatever cocktail they used to awaken him, it was too much.
The address was a disaster in the making, although Democrats are now pretending they loved it. But they were always going to pretend they loved it. Members of the media were always going to use words like “feisty,” “energetic,” and “combative”; that was a foregone conclusion.
But — if you were the median voter, the person who&#8217;s deciding between Joe Biden and Donald Trump and you watched Biden last night, did that make you think our country is in the best of hands? Or did it make you think, Angry old man screams at clouds, thinks many, many Americans are terrible people, and also has his priorities totally screwed up.
There are a lot of independents who are going to look at what Biden said and how he acted last night and say to themselves that if the Democrats were trying to offer a contrast between “crazy Trump” and “solid, stolid Joe,” they missed politically.

Even before the address, a number of pro-Hamas crazies who were sitting out in the middle of the street blocked Biden’s motorcade. He has been catering to these people. He&#8217;s been suggesting the real problem is that they&#8217;re just too passionate. It&#8217;s not that they&#8217;re wrong and actively siding with the worst terror group in the region; rather, it is that they just believe too hard. They just want too much. So last night, he allowed his motorcade to be blocked for legitimately dozens of minutes on the most watched night of the presidential year by a bunch of nutjobs who were sitting in the middle of the street on behalf of terrorists who mass rape and murder people.
That was just the lead-up.
The trajectory of Biden&#8217;s speech was angry, energetic, coherent at the very beginning — very angry, very over-the-top, insulting — but coherent. Next, it went to angry incoherence, loud incoherence. Then, it went to whispering incoherence because he lost energy. The drugs started to wear off about 40 minutes into his address.
Normally, the president of the United States opens with some sort of broad peroration, such as, “The state of our union is strong.” They talk about the glories and wonders of America, and then they say the state of our union is wrong. That&#8217;s the formula.
I&#8217;ve never heard a president begin an address with, “The state of our union just sucks right now. I&#8217;ve got to tell you; it just blows, man.”
But Biden immediately launched into a harangue against Republicans about Ukraine. According to him, he is the halcyon apex of democracy, democracy embodied, and all of his opponents are fascists who side with Putin.
He <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/speeches-remarks/2024/03/07/remarks-of-president-joe-biden-state-of-the-union-address-as-prepared-for-delivery-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">compared himself</a> to Franklin Delano Roosevelt:
<blockquote>In January 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt came to this chamber to speak to the nation. He said, “I address you in a moment, unprecedented in the history of the union.”
Hitler was on the march. War was raging in Europe. President Roosevelt’s purpose was to wake up Congress and alert the American people that this was no ordinary moment. Freedom and democracy were under assault in the world.
Tonight I come to the same chamber to address the nation. Now it is we who face an unprecedented moment in the history of the Union. And yes, my purpose tonight is to wake up this Congress, and alert the American people that this is no ordinary moment either. Not since President Lincoln and the Civil War have freedom and democracy been under assault at home as they are today.</blockquote>
So his excuse for being a terrible president is that he is facing the two most historic crises of the last two centuries in American life: World War II and the Civil War.
Now, let&#8217;s just be clear about where we are in American life right now. We are not killing each other by hundreds of thousands, which is what actually happened during the Civil War. We are not holding hundreds of thousands of people in abject servitude and bondage. We are not fighting a globalized world war against the Nazis, the Japanese, and their allies. That&#8217;s not happening right now.
It says something about his governance because we are living in a time where zero American troops are currently overly committed abroad in a war. Biden claimed there is a war on democracy for one reason: so he can get to what he says is an assault on democracy at home, which is about Donald Trump.
He started off with this long thing about Ukraine and Russia and I think most Americans were sitting home and thinking, We’ve got some problems at home. Why don&#8217;t we start with the border? Why don&#8217;t we start with inflation?
But he led with Ukraine because what he was attempting to do was label everyone who disagreed with him as being in league with and akin to Putin in terms of trying to overthrow democracy here at home.
He stated: 
<blockquote>My message to President Putin is simple. We will not walk away. We will not bow down. I will not bow down. History is watching. History is watching, just like history watched three years ago on January 6th. Insurrectionists stormed this very Capitol and placed a dagger to the throat of American democracy. …
But we must be honest the threat remains and democracy must be defended. My predecessor and some of you here seek to bury the truth about January 6th. I will not do that. I thought January 6 was terrible — but there&#8217;s one thing I know with certainty about that day: It was not a dagger at the throat of democracy. No one in their right mind thought that democracy in the United States was about to be overthrown on January 6.
We all watched the television and said, “That&#8217;s ugly and that&#8217;s bad, and some people were committing criminal acts to be arrested.” That&#8217;s what rational people thought. Only hysterics looked at that and said, “My God, Donald Trump is going to enshrine himself and his praetorian guard in the White House. He&#8217;s going to overthrow democracy, march himself down in a purple robe into the Senate chamber, and call for the execution of his political enemies.”
No one thought that was happening. It&#8217;s a stupid idea. Within two hours, the entire place was cleared and the Republican vice president was certifying the election, along with the Republican majority leader.
But Biden&#8217;s reelection depends on exactly that kind of hysterical nonsense. It depends on you — the moderate, the independent — believing the threat is that if Trump becomes president, democracy ends tomorrow in the same way that Vladimir Putin is an autocrat.

Biden <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/joe-biden-marks-3-years-since-jan-6-2021-capitol-riot-valley-forge/">appeared</a> before a crowd in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania — near Valley Forge — on Friday afternoon, to address the January 6 Capitol riot, focusing his speech on former President Donald Trump and his supporters.
“Since that day, more than 1,200 people have been charged for their assault on the Capitol, and nearly 900 of them have been convicted or pled guilty. Collectively to date, they have been sentenced to more than 840 years in prison,” Biden said to the applause of the crowd.
“What’s Trump done? Instead of calling them criminals, he’s called these insurrectionists ‘patriots’ … and he promises to pardon them if he returns to office,” Biden added. “Trump said they’re was a lot of love on January 6. The rest of the nation, including law enforcement, saw a lot of hate and violence.”

Immediately following the storming of the Capitol, the FBI began a years-long investigation into those who were present or participated in the massive demonstration on Capitol Hill as Congress met to vote on certification of the 2020 election. Since then, the Department of Justice has <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/36-months-jan-6-attack-capitol-0">charged</a> 452 people with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers or employees, which includes 123 people “who have been charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon or causing serious bodily injury to an officer.”
The vast majority of the charges — 1,186 — are for “entering or remaining in a restricted federal building or grounds.” Some who weren’t even present at the Capitol on January 6 have also been sentenced. Former Proud Boys chairman Enrique Tarrio was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/enrique-tarrio-sentenced-to-decades-behind-bars-the-longest-j6-sentence-to-date">sentenced</a> to 22 years behind bars, the longest January 6 sentence to date, after being found guilty of seditious conspiracy.
Trump also faces federal charges in a case related to January 6 as an indictment unsealed by special prosecutor Jack Smith levels four counts at the former president: conspiracy to violate civil rights, conspiracy to defraud the government, corrupt obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy to carry out such obstruction, The New York Times <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/01/us/politics/trump-indictment-charges-jan-6.html">reported</a>. Trump pleaded not guilty to the January 6-related charges, accusing Smith of “putting out yet another Fake Indictment.”
“I hear that Deranged Jack Smith, in order to interfere with the Presidential Election of 2024, will be putting out yet another Fake Indictment of your favorite President, me, at 5:00 P.M.,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Why didn’t they do this 2.5 years ago? Another sex tape was allegedly filmed inside the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/washington-d-c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">U.S. Capitol</a>, which comes after news broke last week about an aide for Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) who allegedly filmed a sex video involving himself and an unidentified man inside a Senate committee hearing room.
Semafor <a href="https://www.semafor.com/article/12/20/2023/us-house-quietly-investigated-separate-sex-tape-scandal" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Wednesday that an investigation was launched in June 2022 into a senior aide who worked for Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-WA) over reports of “purported, unbecoming behavior.”
The senior aide, whom the publication decided to not name, denied that he was in the videos and said that he was informed by the congressman that the investigation found “no evidence to the allegation.”
The publication said that it was &#8220;clear&#8221; though that there was &#8220;in fact, a second set of Capitol sex videos, which circulated on Snapchat last year.&#8221;
The publication said that it was provided with recordings from a source that showed &#8220;a man masturbating inside a House office building, which was identifiable by standard Capitol House furniture and carpeting.&#8221;
&#8220;The desk at which the videographer performed also held a branded congressional mouse pad,&#8221; the report added. &#8220;A screenshot of a second video obtained by Semafor shows two men engaged in a sex act in an office setting. The participants’ faces are not visible in any of the material viewed by Semafor.&#8221;

An actor featured in the DailyWire+ comedy &#8220;Lady Ballers&#8221; was arrested following the premiere in Nashville last week for charges related to his presence at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Federal authorities arrested Siaka Massaquoi on November 30 after he and his wife, Charlotte, arrived back in California following the showing, according to a legal defense <a href="https://www.givesendgo.com/siaka" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fundraiser</a> set up in his name.
&#8220;Upon their arrival, Siaka was separated from his wife and abruptly arrested by the FBI,&#8221; according to the fundraising page. &#8220;At the time, Charlotte was told the charges had to do with January 6th; however, she was not presented with any arrest warrant.&#8221;
Massaquoi, who appeared in the new comedy from The Daily Wire, was taken to the Monterey Park Jail, where he stayed overnight after being charged with four misdemeanors in connection to January 6, according to the fundraiser page.
Three years ago, approximately 20 FBI agents dressed in tactical gear raided Massaquoi&#8217;s North Hollywood home just before 6 a.m. on a Thursday — about six months after that infamous day in 2021, <a href="https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-06-12/fbi-raids-home-of-los-angeles-based-actor-who-entered-u-s-capitol-on-jan-6" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to The Los Angeles Times</a>.
Video footage from the Capitol breach posted by StopHate, a Texas-based activist group, claims to show Massaquoi inside the Capitol building.
&#8220;He was at the threshold of the door for maybe a minute, &amp; even helping the police direct the flow of foot traffic out the door. Crime?&#8221; the group wrote in a December 2 post.
Massaquoi reposted the group&#8217;s video on his X account. &#8220;Witness why I was raided 2 years ago and recently arrested and charged Nov 30th 2023 almost 3 years later,&#8221; he said.

Massaquoi also starred in The Babylon Bee&#8217;s &#8220;Californians Move to Texas&#8221; series. Seth Dillon, CEO of the satire website, called Massaquoi&#8217;s arrest &#8220;political persecution.&#8221;

Although authorities never charged Massaquoi, the fundraiser&#8217;s page said that the family has &#8220;feared that this day might come, in which the government would charge him for something he didn&#8217;t do,&#8221; adding the actor has been &#8220;scrutinized at airports for several years.&#8221;
The fundraiser for Massaquoi has raised nearly $40,000 of its $115,000 goal to cover the legal expenses. The campaign page also requested to keep the family in prayer support as the couple is expecting their first child.
According to podcast host Lori Mills, authorities arraigned Massaquoi on Friday and released him with conditions.

Federal authorities arrested Massaquoi more than two months after he filed a group lawsuit against the FBI, Bureau Director Christopher Wray, the Department of Justice, and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
<a href="https://www.ntd.com/biden-fbi-arrests-conservative-actor-for-taking-part-in-jan-6-protests_958093.html">According</a> to the lawsuit filed in a district court in Florida on September 20, the plaintiffs requested the court to certify the legal challenge as a class action lawsuit on behalf of individuals &#8220;who were peacefully protesting in Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021, but who did not commit any felonies or engage in any violence, but have been subjected to unconstitutional, illegal surveillance by Defendant Wray and his agents in the aftermath.&#8221;
&#8220;While there were a few people who chose to enter and engage in acts of violence in the U.S. Capitol, Plaintiffs were not among those involved in any such conduct,&#8221; the lawsuit said. &#8220;All Plaintiffs did was exercise their right to peacefully assemble and protest under the Constitution.&#8221;
The Department of Justice has reportedly charged more than 1,069 individuals from nearly all 50 states and the District of Columbia in connection to January 6.

A manhunt was underway on Wednesday as federal and local authorities searched through a wooded area of New Jersey for a suspect accused of <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/fbi-swat-team-hunt-ex-national-guardsman-wanted-jan-6-charges-rcna124196" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charges</a> related to the U.S. Capitol Breach on January 6.
FBI Newark SWAT officials said in an alert that authorities joined the Jamesburg Police Department and Middlesex County Prosecutors Office in search of Gregory Yetman in Helmetta, New Jersey.

It is not immediately clear what specific charges Yetman faces. However, authorities labeled Yetman as &#8220;#278 AFO,&#8221; which stands for &#8220;Assault on a Federal Officer,&#8221; before unmasking his identity, according to <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12726263/Gregory-Yetman-Jan-6-manhunt-FBI.html?ns_mchannel=rss&amp;ns_campaign=1490&amp;ito=1490&amp;utm_source=dlvr.it&amp;utm_medium=twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reports</a>.
Yetman, 46, allegedly fled into the woods around 9 a.m. as police were trying to serve a warrant.
Authorities described him as a white male who may be armed, and said that he was wearing a red jacket and baseball cap.
Authorities instructed the Spotswood Public Schools to shelter in place and closed surrounding local streets as SWAT team members searched Yetman&#8217;s backyard and shed and the backyards of other nearby homes.
According to reports, Yetman served as a military police sergeant in the New Jersey National Guard until the military service honorably discharged him in March 2022.
Yetman admitted in an <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2023/03/02/sedition-hunters-hundreds-jan-6-rioters-pending-fbi-arrests/11283885002/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with USA TODAY earlier this year that he was in Washington, D.C., on January 6, 2021. Online searchers alleged Yetman had used pepper spray while on the Capitol grounds, but he asserted he did nothing wrong and didn&#8217;t pepper-spray anyone while he was there on that day.
He said the FBI interviewed him in January 2021, but that he had not heard from federal investigators since.
&#8220;Everything&#8217;s been resolved, everything&#8217;s good,&#8221; he said.
Officials estimate approximately 2,000 people were present at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. About 800 people out of the massive crowd breached the Capitol grounds, which included some who overturned barricades, clashed with police, and stormed the building in an alleged attempt to stop the January 2021 transfer of presidential power.
Senators from the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee published a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/planned-in-plain-sight-senate-committee-lawmakers-blame-dhs-fbi-for-january-6-security-failures" target="_blank" rel="noopener">report</a> alleging several U.S. Capitol security failures on January 6, including the possibility that federal law enforcement agencies had downplayed numerous tips threatening violence ahead of the 2020 presidential election certification.
Federal authorities admitted that there were 8 FBI Confidential Human Sources, according to a <a href="https://www.scribd.com/document/636497598/Dominic-Pezzola#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">court filing</a>, which also alleged DCMetro Police had at least 13 undercover plain-clothes agents, and some 19 informants belonged to Homeland Security Investigations, an agency under the Department of Homeland Security.
The FBI has charged more than 1,100 defendants in nearly all 50 states and the District of Columbia in relation to the Capitol Breach. Over 650 have pleaded guilty, more than 600 have been sentenced, and half received terms ranging from three days to 22 years.
Over 20 residents from New Jersey have been charged in connection to the Capitol breach, according to the Associated Press.

U.S. Capitol police arrested an unidentified man armed with an AR-15 in a park near the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, according to authorities.
“USCP Officers just arrested a man with a gun in the park across from Union Station,&#8221; Capitol police <a href="https://twitter.com/CapitolPolice/status/1721948851387396117" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a> on X. &#8220;At this time we have no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat. We are working to gather more information and will put out more details when they are confirmed.”
Capitol police said authorities searched and secured the park and the suspect’s belongings “out of an abundance of caution.” The suspect remained in police custody on Tuesday afternoon amid an ongoing investigation.
Authorities <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/us/police-arrest-man-armed-ar-15-near-capitol" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed</a> to Fox News the gun in possession of the suspect was an AR-15 and that they believed he was acting alone.
Due to the heavy police activity, authorities restricted access near the Capitol. They announced road closures along Columbus Circle between Louisiana and Delaware Avenues, NE, and D Street between Louisiana and Delaware Avenues, NE.
USCP authorities also <a href="https://twitter.com/ChadPergram/status/1721951520038490564" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reportedly</a> responded to a suspicious package in the Upper Senate Park and warned staff and other personnel to avoid the area until further notice. It is unknown if the two incidents were related.
The arrest comes three days after authorities apprehended two individuals with firearms after the suspects crashed a stolen car into a barricade near the Capitol.
Police identified the two suspects as Ricardo L. Glass and Onosetale Okojie of Washington, D.C., both 20 years old, who were arrested for several charges, including carrying a pistol without a license, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and unlawful possession of a machine gun, according to Capitol police.

In a <a href="https://www.uscp.gov/media-center/press-releases/uscp-officers-confiscate-guns-capture-criminals-who-crashed-stolen-car" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news release</a>, authorities said on Sunday the suspects were idling at a green light near Union Station in a stolen white Infiniti Q50 when an officer noticed the driver could be impaired. When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the driver sped away and crashed into a Capitol vehicle barricade near 1st and D Streets around the northeast side of the city.
Glass and Okojie then ran away from the crash, which happened to be near the USCP headquarters, and attempted to escape until they were captured in the area, according to the news release.

RNC Research shared the surveillance on social media just hours after Bowman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/democratic-congressman-pleads-guilty-to-pulling-capitol-fire-alarm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pleaded guilty</a> to a misdemeanor count of falsely pulling a fire alarm in the Cannon House Office Building on September 30.
&#8220;I am responsible for activating a fire alarm, I will be paying the fine issued, and look forward to these charges being ultimately dropped,&#8221; Bowman said in a statement <a href="https://www.politico.com/live-updates/2023/10/25/congress/latest-on-bowman-fire-alarm-funding-capitol-police-00123575" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> by POLITICO.
A spokesperson for the D.C. Attorney General&#8217;s office told the outlet that Bowman was &#8220;pleading guilty and has agreed to pay the maximum fine.&#8221;
The charges levied against Bowman carry a maximum penalty of six months in jail, but the D.C. Attorney General&#8217;s Office said the congressman &#8220;is pleading guilty and has agreed to pay the maximum fine&#8221; — which is $1,000 — and Bowman will issue a formal apology to the Capitol Police.
If Bowman sticks to the terms of the deal, which includes three months probation, prosecutors will drop the charge at a sentencing hearing on January 29, according to the plea deal reported by Reuters.

Bowman told reporters before the arraignment, &#8220;Hell no&#8221; when asked if he meant to pull the fire alarm, but asserted he was &#8220;taking responsibility&#8221; for his actions.
&#8220;What I did was against D.C. law,&#8221; Bowman said, according to Fox News. &#8220;As I said from the very beginning, I was not trying to disrupt any congressional proceedings. I&#8217;m glad the investigation yielded that.&#8221;
Just before the lower chamber of Congress voted on a spending bill last month to avert a government shutdown, the procedure came to a temporary halt when the fire alarm went off.
Bowman, a 47-year-old former teacher representing a district covering part of New York City and Westchester County, told Capitol Police he was on his way to the vote when he pulled the fire alarm, believing it would open an exit door in the House building.
In a <a href="https://bowman.house.gov/2023/9/statement-from-congressman-jamaal-bowman" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> hours after the incident, Bowman said that he did not &#8220;in any way&#8221; trigger the House building fire alarm &#8220;to delay any vote.&#8221;
&#8220;It was the exact opposite &#8212; I was trying urgently to get to a vote, which I ultimately did and joined my colleagues in a bipartisan effort to keep our government open,&#8221; Bowman said. &#8220;I also met after the vote with the Sergeant at Arms and the Capitol Police, at their request, and explained what had happened. My hope is that no one will make more of this than it was. I am working hard every day, including today, to do my job, to do it well, and deliver for my constituents.&#8221;

Former Oath Keepers chapter leader Ray Epps, who was caught on video urging people to go into the U.S. Capitol on January 6, has been charged with disorderly or disruptive conduct in connection with the breach, according to the Associated Press.
Department of Justice authorities charged Epps with one misdemeanor count, disorderly or disruptive conduct on restricted grounds.
According to <a href="https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/67807327/1/united-states-v-epps/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">court filings,</a> Epps &#8220;did knowingly, and with intent to impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, engage in disorderly and disruptive conduct in and within such proximity to, a restricted building and grounds — that is, any posted, cordoned-off, and otherwise restricted area within the United States Capitol and its grounds, where the Vice President was and would be temporarily visiting—when and so that such conduct did in fact impede and disrupt the orderly conduct of Government business and official functions, and attempted and conspired to do so.&#8221;
NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/justice-department/ray-epps-subject-tucker-carlsons-jan-6-conspiracy-theories-charged-doj-rcna99836">reported</a> Epps could enter a plea deal to the charge.
Epps has long been <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/why-the-ray-epps-questions-wont-go-away-despite-the-medias-best-efforts" target="_blank" rel="noopener">accused</a> by many of being an undercover federal agent who instigated some of the events of that day. He has vehemently denied the accusation.
The 62-year-old Marine veteran from Arizona is seen in multiple video clips from January 6 and the day before trying to whip up other Trump supporters to &#8220;go into the Capitol&#8221; the next day.
&#8220;I&#8217;ll say it. We need to go into the Capitol,&#8221; Epps says in one clip. At least four times on video, Epps repeats his call to action to &#8220;go into the Capitol.&#8221;
Other videos reportedly show Epps with Proud Boys leader Zachary Rehl, who deployed a chemical spray at officers, according to <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/09/19/january-6-ray-epps-trump-00116765" target="_blank" rel="noopener">POLITICO</a>.  In May, A jury in Washington, D.C., <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/verdict-in-for-proud-boys-charged-with-january-6-seditious-conspiracy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">convicted</a> Rehl of seditious conspiracy in relation to the Capitol breach and <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-dc/pr/two-leaders-proud-boys-sentenced-prison-seditious-conspiracy-and-other-charges-related-us">sentenced</a> him to 15 years in prison.

An attorney for Epps said in July that federal law enforcement officials had informed his client that they intended to charge him in connection with the events of January 6.
The revelation was made in a lawsuit that Epps filed against Fox News in July that accused the network and former host Tucker Carlson of defaming him.
Buried deep in the lawsuit, Epps&#8217; lawyer said that the DOJ recently informed Epps that it plans to prosecute him. Epps&#8217; lawyer blamed Carlson for the potential forthcoming charges.
&#8220;Finally, in May 2023, the Department of Justice notified Epps that it would seek to charge him criminally for events on January 6, 2021—two-and-a-half years later,&#8221; the lawsuit said. &#8220;The relentless attacks by Fox and Mr. Carlson and the resulting political pressure likely resulted in the criminal charges.&#8221;
Fox reportedly denied liability and moved to dismiss the pending lawsuit in federal court in Delaware.
Epps <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ray-epps-capitol-riot-jan-6-fox-38748c79cd7b6916584a5db7ca87af7a">told</a> CBS in an interview earlier this year that he received numerous death threats that forced him to sell his home and relocate to the Rocky Mountains, where he and his wife were living in a recreational vehicle.
&#8220;I had to do the necessary things to keep my family safe,&#8221; Epps said.
Epps joins more than 1,100 people charged with Capitol breach-related federal crimes, of which over 650 have pleaded guilty, more than 600 were sentenced, and half received terms ranging from three days to 22 years.

Rep. Scott Perry (R-PA) held little back during a Freedom Caucus press conference on the steps of the U.S. Capitol Tuesday after Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
“What actual evidence do you have as opposed to allegations to show to the American public that would merit an actual impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden and prove that today isn’t just about some of you [inaudible]?” asked an off-camera reporter.
The reporter suggested that McCarthy was enacting &#8220;political revenge for the impeachments of Donald Trump.&#8221;
&#8220;This isn’t about political revenge. We have the bank accounts we can see, ma’am,&#8221; Perry fired back. &#8220;You can see that the homes that the Bidens own can’t be afforded on a congressional or Senate salary. You also understand that it’s not normal for family members to receive millions of dollars from overseas interests. Those things aren’t normal.&#8221;
&#8220;That’s not normal to have 20 shell companies, these things are not normal,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And it alludes to not only just widespread corruption, but money laundering, if not influence peddling itself and we also have the president, the vice president at the time, on record saying that the prosecutor was fired. &#8216;Well, son of a b***! The prosecutor was fired,&#8217; right? Because the prosecutor was going after the company that his son was working on.&#8221;
“That’s what we have. If you can’t see that. If you want, if you are that blind, I’ll turn it over to the attorneys,” Perry concluded as he walked away from the podium.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) mocked a reporter on Tuesday who asked him for his reaction to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announcing an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden over allegations of corruption.
NBC’s Liz Brown-Kaiser asked Fetterman in the basement of the U.S. Capitol about the impeachment inquiry and, before she could finish asking the question, Fetterman jolted backward and threw his hands up around his head.
&#8220;Oh my God, really?!?!&#8221; Fetterman mockingly responded to the reporter. &#8220;Oh my gosh.&#8221;
&#8220;You know, oh, it&#8217;s devastating,&#8221; Fetterman continued as he proceeded to burst out laughing at the reporter.
&#8220;Ooooooooo! Don&#8217;t do it!&#8221; Fetterman said to the reporter while making a motion with his hands. &#8220;Please, don&#8217;t do it! Oh, no! Oh, no!&#8221;
Fetterman was quickly led away by one of his aides, who broke up the interaction between the senator and the reporter.

In brief remarks at the U.S. Capitol, McCarthy <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mccarthy-announces-formal-impeachment-inquiry-against-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the impeachment inquiry will be led by Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) “in coordination with” Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO).
In a letter to Republican members, McCarthy said that the House’s investigation so far has “found that President Biden lied to the American people about knowledge of his family’s foreign business dealings.”
McCarthy continued:
<blockquote>Eyewitness testimony revealed that the President joined multiple phone calls and had various interactions with his son’s business partners. For example, Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s business partner, testified that Joe Biden spoke or met with Hunter Biden’s business associates around 20 times, and that after meeting with President Biden, foreign nationals sent Hunter Biden millions of dollars, and bought him a Porsche.
Bank records show that nearly $20 million in payments were directed to Biden family members and associates through numerous shell companies. The Treasury Department has more than 150 transactions involving the Biden family and their business associates that were flagged as “suspicious activity” by U.S. banks.
A trusted FBI informant provided information about alleged bribes to the Biden family.
There is also evidence that Biden used his official office to coordinate with Hunter Biden’s business partner about Hunter’s role in Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company.
Finally, despite these serious allegations, it appears that the President’s family has been afforded special treatment by Biden’s own administration – treatment they would not otherwise have received if they were not related to the President. For example, in July, there was the sweetheart plea deal that President Biden’s Department of Justice tried to sneak past the public. Had a federal judge not rejected the deal, it would have gone through unnoticed.</blockquote>
