Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has praised former President Donald Trump in a series of interviews over the last week for the strength that America projected overseas under his leadership.
In one interview, Johnson says that Trump is correct when he claims that Russia would never have invaded Ukraine if he had been president.
&#8220;I happen to believe that when Donald Trump says that had he been President in 2022, there would have been no Russian invasion of Ukraine,&#8221; Johnson said. &#8220;My view is that is a credible assertion. I really do think that&#8217;s credible.&#8221;

In a separate interview, Johnson went into greater depth about why he believes that Trump is tremendous on the foreign policy front.
&#8220;He stood up to Bashar Al Assad, the Syrian dictator,&#8221; he said. &#8220;He bombed him when he used chemical weapons — chemical weapons against his own people. Donald Trump hit back and Assad never used chemical weapons again. We talk about Iran. Trump took out Qassem Soleimani, the head of the IRGC Quds Force. Iran really went quiet after that.&#8221;
&#8220;And when it came to Putin, a lot of people say Trump is a big buddy of Putin,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;Well, I didn&#8217;t see that when I was foreign secretary. I saw Trump expel 60 Russian diplomats after they poisoned some people as you may remember, [when] the Russians poisoned people in our country with chemical weapons, with Novichok.&#8221;
Johnson noted that Trump provided Ukraine with Javelins, powerful shoulder-fired missiles, that Ukraine used to prevent Russia from rapidly overtaking the entire country.
&#8220;Everybody says he&#8217;s friendly with Putin, I don&#8217;t see that,&#8221; he said. &#8220;He gave the Ukrainians those shoulder-launched Javelin missiles, which were very important to Ukraine in the defense of Kyiv and routing Putin&#8217;s troops. So I don&#8217;t know what&#8217;s going to happen, but I have hope that Trump will, if Trump is elected, if Donald Trump is elected, that he will be the strong president overseas that I saw.&#8221;

Former President Donald Trump sat down with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at Trump Tower in New York City on Friday, just one day after President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris met with the European leader and announced an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/u-s-vows-to-send-billions-more-to-ukraine-after-zelensky-accused-of-election-interference" target="_blank" rel="noopener">additional $8 billion</a> in military assistance for Ukraine.
The meeting also comes days after Zelensky called Trump&#8217;s running mate, Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), &#8220;too radical&#8221; and expressed doubt that Trump has a plan for ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. The conflict is now in its 31st month as Russian and Ukrainian soldiers continue to fight over Ukraine&#8217;s southern and eastern territory.

Trump has promised to end the bloodbath in Ukraine if he becomes president. Before meeting with Zelensky, Trump told reporters, &#8220;We’re going to work very much with both parties to try and get this settled,&#8221; The Hill <a href="https://thehill.com/policy/international/4903365-zelensky-trump-ukraine-war/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“We have a very good relationship, and I also have a very good relationship, as you know, with President Putin. And I think if we win I think we’re going to get it resolved very quickly,” Trump added before Zelensky chimed in, saying, &#8220;I hope we have more good relations.&#8221;
&#8220;But it takes two to tango, you know, and we’re going to have a good meeting today,&#8221; Trump continued. &#8220;And I think the fact that we’re even together today is a very good sign.&#8221;
Zelensky told <a href="https://www.newyorker.com/news/the-new-yorker-interview/volodymyr-zelensky-has-a-plan-for-ukraines-victory" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The New Yorker</a> earlier this week, &#8220;Trump doesn&#8217;t really know how to stop the war even if he might think he knows how.&#8221;
&#8220;With this war, oftentimes, the deeper you look at it the less you understand,&#8221; Zelensky added. &#8220;I&#8217;ve seen many leaders who were convinced they knew how to end it tomorrow, and as they waded deeper into it, they realized it&#8217;s not that simple.&#8221;
The Ukrainian president also said Vance is &#8220;too radical,&#8221; arguing that the Republican vice presidential candidate&#8217;s message &#8220;seems to be that Ukraine must make a sacrifice.&#8221;

Some conservatives accused Zelensky of &#8220;election interference&#8221; after he appeared with Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro and Sen. President Joe Biden announced on Thursday that the U.S. will provide Ukraine with an additional $8 billion in military assistance as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky meets with U.S. leaders.
The new round of military aid for Ukraine will include a shipment of medium-range precision-guided glide bombs that will allow Ukrainian forces to fire upon Russian soldiers from safer distances, Reuters <a href="https://www.reuters.com/world/biden-announces-8-billion-military-aid-ukraine-2024-09-26/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. A U.S. official said that the president would not be giving Ukraine the green light to fire missiles at targets deep inside Russia.
The Biden administration&#8217;s announcement came shortly after some conservatives <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cruz-blasts-arrogant-zelensky-for-trying-to-interfere-in-u-s-election-remarkably-foolish">accused</a> Zelensky of interfering in the upcoming presidential election. The latest U.S. assistance package for Ukraine will provide more training for Ukrainian pilots flying American-made F-16s. Biden also said that the $8 billion assistance would give Ukraine another Patriot air defense battery and more Patriot missiles, according to Reuters.
Zelensky thanked the U.S. for the new package, saying it would be used &#8220;in the most efficient and transparent manner.&#8221;
The U.S. continues to be Ukraine&#8217;s largest supporter, far outpacing all other countries in military assistance. From just before the war began through June of this year, the U.S. has committed more than $50 billion in military support for Ukraine, <a href="https://www.ifw-kiel.de/topics/war-against-ukraine/ukraine-support-tracker/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Germany, which has offered the second-largest amount of military support for Ukraine, has committed just over $10 billion in aid over the same period.

American-made F-16s set to be shipped to Ukraine will come with a boost of firepower as the Biden administration agreed to arm the fighter jets with advanced weaponry, including missiles made in the U.S., The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/world/u-s-to-arm-ukraines-f-16-jets-with-advanced-weapons-71d81e20?mod=hp_lead_pos5" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> on Tuesday.
Ukraine is expected to receive dozens of F-16s made in the U.S. as Denmark and the Netherlands, two NATO countries, are preparing to ship the fighter jets to Ukraine this summer. NATO countries Belgium and Norway are also expected to ship more F-16s to the European country later. Now, according to a senior U.S. official, Ukraine&#8217;s shipment of F-16s will also be equipped with advanced air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground munitions, and precision-guidance kits for bombs, WSJ reported.
“We are confident that we will be able to supply all of those [weapons], at least the critical volumes that they need,” the official said.
Maj. Gen. Rolf Folland, chief of the Royal Norwegian Air Force, applauded the move, saying, “The aircraft itself is worthless without the weapons.&#8221;
The Biden administration&#8217;s shipment of more weapons to Ukraine comes as the Pentagon faces limited inventory and production capability, according to WSJ. European countries and the U.S. have also scrambled to train Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16, and the Biden administration has considered expanding its use of American military facilities to train the Ukrainian pilots.
U.S. officials believe F-16s could greatly help Ukraine&#8217;s forces take out ground threats on the war&#8217;s front lines. The Ukraine-Russia war is nearing the 30-month mark as Ukraine struggles to keep Russian forces from advancing.

The U.S. has led the world in military aid to Ukraine with another package to the European country — this one worth $1.7 billion — being announced by American leaders on Monday. The package was mostly centered on long-term contracts through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative, but also included $200 million in immediate military aid for Ukraine, which was taken from Pentagon stockpiles, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/ukraine-russia-weapons-war-military-aid-2bc961d302b86c54e424a28ffed30cc2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Last month, President Joe Biden signed a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-to-sign-10-year-security-agreement-with-ukraine" target="_blank" rel="noopener">10-year military assistance agreement</a> with Ukraine as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky seeks to join NATO.
The agreement does not specify an exact dollar amount the U.S. must send to Ukraine and doesn’t require American troops to be deployed to defend the country, according to <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/biden-zelensky-to-sign-10-year-u-s-ukraine-security-deal-at-g-7-summit/ar-BB1o8nej" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Washington Post</a>. Officials did say, however, that the deal promises that the U.S. would hold high-level consultations with Kyiv within 24 hours if Ukraine is attacked again.
“We want to demonstrate that the U.S. supports the people of Ukraine, that we stand with them, and that we’ll continue to help address their security needs not just tomorrow but out into the future,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said in June.

Russian President Vladimir Putin cut his country&#8217;s supply of gas to Europe following his invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and the continent responded by importing liquified natural gas (LNG) from the U.S.
&#8220;The US overtook Russia as a supplier of gas to Europe in September 2022, and has since 2023 accounted for about a fifth of the region’s supply,&#8221; The Financial Times <a href="https://www.ft.com/content/15e7b892-c4f3-45b8-b375-80ef52e4b83c" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. &#8220;But last month, Russian-piped gas and LNG shipments accounted for 15 per cent of total supply to the EU, UK, Switzerland, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and North Macedonia, according to data from ICIS.&#8221;
U.S. shipments of natural gas to Europe have since fallen to 14% of the region&#8217;s supply, the report said, which comes despite efforts from several European nations to sanction Russian energy, which would reduce Russia&#8217;s ability to continue funding its war through energy sales.
Experts claimed to the newspaper that &#8220;one-off factors drove the reversal,&#8221; including an outage at a major U.S. natural gas export facility.
However, the outage comes after President Joe Biden halted issuing new licenses for natural gas exporters, which has forced companies to delay signing new contracts with U.S. energy producers, Bloomberg News <a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2024-03-15/biden-s-lng-freeze-delaying-projects-and-risking-us-market-share?embedded-checkout=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Rep. Stephanie Bice (R-OK) responded to the development by telling The Daily Wire in a statement: &#8220;The Biden Administration’s decision to pause approvals for new LNG export terminals has once again forced Europe into the pockets of Putin.&#8221;
&#8220;His decisions not only counter his climate goals, since Russian natural gas is 41% dirtier than American, but harms our domestic producers,&#8221; she added. &#8220;When it comes to Russia, Biden talks the talk, but his actions are doing nothing but supporting Putin.&#8221;
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) also responded to the news during the most recent episode of his &#8220;Verdict&#8221; podcast this week, saying that Biden and the Democrats &#8220;are united in favor of this policy.&#8221;

Putin&#8217;s North Korea trip marks his first visit to the Hermit Kingdom in 24 years, and the Russian president was greeted with fanfare and crowds of North Koreans chanting his name, NBC News <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/putin-meets-kim-north-korea-rcna157665" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Following his meeting with Kim, Putin said the leaders signed &#8220;a truly breakthrough document&#8221; that boosts security, trade, and humanitarian agreements. Kim <a href="https://apnews.com/article/vladimir-putin-kim-jong-un-russia-north-korea-summit-ukraine-a6b8d2c12de7ee2ab6716d4747c9850e" target="_blank" rel="noopener">called</a> the agreement the &#8220;strongest ever treaty&#8221; between the two countries.
The Russian president said U.S. allies Japan and South Korea were &#8220;hostile to North Korea&#8221; and labeled U.S. policy toward Kim as &#8220;confrontational,&#8221; according to <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/19/asia/north-korea-russia-putin-visit-thursday-intl-hnk/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CNN</a>. Biden administration officials have expressed concern that increased ties between Russia and North Korea will help boost Kim&#8217;s nuclear capabilities and help supply Putin&#8217;s forces with ammunition as it continues its assault on Ukraine.
Putin thanked Kim for continuing to support Russia in its “fight against the imperialist hegemonistic policies of the U.S. and its satellites against the Russian Federation.” Kim <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kim-jong-un-expected-to-meet-with-putin-for-weapons-talks-reports" target="_blank" rel="noopener">visited</a> Putin in the Russian port city of Vladivostok last September to discuss weapons shipments to Russia.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken <a href="https://apnews.com/article/vladimir-putin-kim-jong-un-russia-north-korea-summit-ukraine-a6b8d2c12de7ee2ab6716d4747c9850e" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on Tuesday that Putin&#8217;s visit to North Korea shows the Russian leader is trying &#8220;in desperation, to develop and to strengthen relations with countries that can provide it with what it needs to continue the war of aggression that it started against Ukraine.”
Six senior U.S. officials told NBC News that the Biden administration believes Russia is sending North Korea ballistic missile technology in exchange for munitions the country is supplying to Russian troops. While details of the new agreement are still not fully known, the Russia-North Korea security treaty appears to be the strongest between the two countries since 1961, when the former Soviet Union promised to aid North Korea if it was attacked, the Associated Press reported. President Joe Biden is set to sign a deal with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday that would lock the U.S. in a 10-year agreement supplying the European country with military assistance.
The decade-long U.S.-Ukraine agreement was <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/International/g7-leaders-agree-lend-ukraine-50-billion-frozen/story?id=111090880&amp;cid=social_twitter_abcn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">first discussed</a> by Zelensky in April, who said at the time that the countries were working to ensure &#8220;specific levels of support for this year and for the next ten years, including armed support, financial, political, and joint arms production.” U.S. officials said the new agreement guarantees that the U.S. would continue supporting Ukraine even if Donald Trump wins the 2024 election and gets sworn in for a second term in the White House, The Washington Post <a href="https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/biden-zelensky-to-sign-10-year-u-s-ukraine-security-deal-at-g-7-summit/ar-BB1o8nej" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“We want to demonstrate that the U.S. supports the people of Ukraine, that we stand with them, and that we’ll continue to help address their security needs not just tomorrow but out into the future,” National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters on Wednesday.
The agreement does not specify an exact dollar amount the U.S. must send to Ukraine and doesn&#8217;t require American troops to be deployed to defend the country, according to the Post. Officials did say, however, that the deal promises that the U.S. would hold high-level consultations with Kyiv within 24 hours if Ukraine is attacked again.
“If [Russian President] Vladimir Putin thinks that he can outlast the coalition supporting Ukraine, he’s wrong,” Sullivan added.
Sullivan made those comments on Air Force One as President Joe Biden flew to Italy for a meeting with Group of Seven leaders.
The U.S. sends far more military support to Ukraine than any other country in the world. In April, Congress <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/senate-passes-95-billion-foreign-aid-package-with-possible-tiktok-ban" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> another bipartisan foreign aid package that included another $61 billion for Kyiv as its war against Russia continues. Fifteen other countries, including the U.K., France, Germany, and Italy, have signed bilateral agreements with Ukraine.
During the G7 meeting on Thursday, world leaders agreed to loan Ukraine $50 billion this year, which will be backed by frozen Russian assets, ABC News <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/International/g7-leaders-agree-lend-ukraine-50-billion-frozen/story?id=111090880&amp;cid=social_twitter_abcn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Officials said those funds would be used to support Ukraine&#8217;s military, budget, humanitarian needs, and reconstruction.

&#8220;Ukraine is still going to have a large financial need next year and beyond and this summit is our best chance to act collectively to close the gap. … This agreement is a signal from the leading democracies of the world that we&#8217;re not going to fatigue and defend Ukraine&#8217;s freedom and that Putin is not going to outlast us,&#8221; a senior Biden administration official said, adding that Russia is ultimately the country paying for the loan.
&#8220;Russia pays…the income comes from the interest stream on the immobilized asset,&#8221; the official said. &#8220;The principal is untouched for now, but we have full optionality to seize the principal later if the political will is there.&#8221;

Vance</a> (R-OH) and Rep. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/matt-gaetz" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Matt Gaetz</a> (R-FL) sent a <a href="https://gaetz.house.gov/sites/evo-subsites/gaetz.house.gov/files/evo-media-document/Ukraine%20NGO%20State%20USAID%20Oversight%20GAETZ%20VANCE.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> to Secretary of State <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/antony-blinken" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Antony Blinken</a> on Wednesday raising concerns about U.S. support of Anatoly Bondarenko and the group he founded, the Data Journalism Agency (TEXTY), that recently published a study with the list.
The <a href="https://texty.org.ua/projects/112617/roller-coaster/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">study</a> is titled &#8220;Rollercoaster: From Trumpists to Communists. The forces in the U.S. impeding aid to Ukraine and how they do it.&#8221; It names 338 individuals and 76 organizations, including Daily Wire hosts Ben Shapiro, Jordan Peterson, Michael Knowles, Matt Walsh, and Brett Cooper.
Vance and Gaetz, who are also listed, said the study is &#8220;largely an excuse to smear a large group of Americans who have been skeptical of aid to Ukraine&#8221; and is &#8220;being broadcast as a part of a coordinated media strategy that has all the hallmarks of a U.S.-targeting influence operation.&#8221;
The lawmakers said they want to assess whether there is a violation of U.S. law, noting that &#8220;all Americans can agree that our tax dollars should not be supporting direct attacks on U.S. persons based upon reasonable political disagreement&#8221; and requested various documents by June 28.
Sought-after records include materials related to any grants awarded to Bondarenko or his group. Vance and Gaetz also asked whether the agency is investigating any relevant violations of policy.
A State Department spokesperson told The Daily Wire in an email on Wednesday that the agency &#8220;had no role or involvement in the referenced &#8216;Roller Coaster&#8217; project published by texty.org.au.&#8221;
Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN), who is running for a Senate seat, went viral last week with a <a href="https://x.com/Jim_Banks/status/1799503437551325594" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post to X</a> raising the alarm about what he called an &#8220;Enemies list&#8221; from TEXTY — a characterization <a href="https://texty.org.ua/projects/112617/roller-coaster/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">rejected by the group</a>. The lawmaker said he was included in the list, and his office would reach out to others it mentioned.
Knowles later <a href="https://x.com/michaeljknowles/status/1800620084756349241" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted</a> a letter from Banks and thanked the congressman for &#8220;informing me that a U.S. gov&#8217;t-affiliated Ukrainian NGO has put me on a hit list.&#8221; He added, &#8220; I hope that Congress will heed your advice and stop funding groups that target and endanger American citizens.&#8221;

Cotton was asked during an interview with Shannon Bream on &#8220;Fox News Sunday&#8221; about Biden throwing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu under the bus in a recent interview with Time Magazine.
&#8220;Well, this is just another slander by Joe Biden against Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli government at large,&#8221; Cotton said. &#8220;Prime Minister Netanyahu&#8217;s policies are very popular. There is a war cabinet that is signing off on missions like you saw yesterday. At every turn, Joe Biden has tried to limit Israel&#8217;s freedom of action, their ability to defend themselves, and to put more pressure on Israel — not pressure on Hamas and its patrons in the Middle East.&#8221;
&#8220;What we should be doing is backing Israel to the hilt,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;And if we had done that since the October 7 attacks, this war would probably already be over, hostages would be freed and there would be less civilian casualties and suffering in Gaza. But Joe Biden is instead catering to the small pro-Hamas wing of the Democratic Party, instead of backing Israel like the large pro-Israel majority of the American people want us to.&#8221;
Cotton said that Biden only has himself to blame for the war that has erupted in Ukraine and for how long it has lasted.
&#8220;He should only be pointing the finger at himself for more than two years,&#8221; he said. &#8220;Joe Biden pussyfooted around and didn&#8217;t give Ukraine the weapons it needed to defend itself. At every turn in this war, Ukraine has asked for certain types or quantities of weapons. Joe Biden has refused, only to reverse himself three or six or nine months later when it was too late. But take a step back and look at the broader context, Joe Biden is largely responsible for tempting Vladimir Putin to do what he&#8217;s always wanted to do, which is invade and annex Ukraine back to Russia.&#8221;
&#8220;And if you notice, Vladimir Putin only tends to invade Ukraine when Democrats are president,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;He did it under Barack Obama. He did it under Joe Biden. It did not happen under Donald Trump. For four years, we had peace and stability. And in fact, Donald Trump reversed Barack Obama and Joe Biden&#8217;s failed policy of sending Ukrainians blankets and ponchos. When Donald Trump was in office, we sent them the javelins that were essential for winning the battle of Kyiv. And the way to have peace in Europe, and for that matter, peace and stability around the world, is to remove Joe Biden from the White House on Election Day this year and return Donald Trump. That&#8217;s how we&#8217;ll get back to peace and stability.&#8221;

Russia&#8217;s navy is sending three ships and a nuclear-powered submarine to the Caribbean next week to conduct military drills with communist Cuba.
Cuba&#8217;s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the ships that will be arriving include the frigate “GORSHKOV”; the nuclear-powered submarine “KAZAN”; the “PASHIN” fleet sea tanker and the salvage tug “NIKOLAI CHIKER”.
The four vessels will arrive at the port of Havana on June 12 and will stay until June 17.
Cuba claimed that the visit was &#8220;consistent with the historically friendly relations existing between Cuba and the Russian Federation and strictly abides by the international regulations&#8221; thus &#8220;their stop-over in our country does not represent any threat to the region.&#8221;
The statement also claimed that none of the vessels would be carrying nuclear weapons.
Russian sailors will participate in the planned training exercises and will then &#8220;go on a tour around places of historical and cultural interest,&#8221; the statement said.
A U.S. official <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/russian-warships-including-nuclear-sub-162653686.html">said</a> that the military exercises will include “heightened naval and air activity near the United States.”
“While we are disappointed that Cuba has likely agreed to host visiting Russian ships, we are not surprised,” the official said.
The official later confirmed the statement from Cuba that the submarine “is not carrying nuclear weapons, and poses no direct threat to the national security of the United States.”
The official said that these types of exercises are not uncommon but have &#8220;ratcheted up because of U.S. support to Ukraine and exercise activity in support of our NATO allies.&#8221;
The most recent development in the U.S.&#8217;s support for Ukraine was President Joe Biden&#8217;s decision to authorize Ukrainian forces to use U.S. weapons to attack targets inside Russia as long as the strikes were defensive in nature.
Ukraine has <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/06/04/world/europe/ukraine-strikes-russia-western-weapons.html">reportedly</a> already capitalized on the new leeway granted to it by the Biden administration as reports surfaced earlier this week that it used a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS, to destroy Russian S-300 and S-400 surface-to-air missile systems that were initially designed to shoot down aircraft but have been used to attack the Ukrainian city of Kharkiv.
&#8220;What we have done is provided Ukraine the ability to counter-fire, to fire back at those Russian troops that are firing at them, and to be able to take out their artillery batteries as they&#8217;re firing at the Ukrainians,&#8221; <a href="https://transcripts.cnn.com/show/sitroom/date/2024-06-06/segment/01">said</a> Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. &#8220;I think that&#8217;s going to prove to be very, very helpful to the Ukrainians going forward.&#8221;
