President Donald Trump on Friday evening hinted at what’s to come when the War Department releases files relating to UFOs and phenomena of unknown origin.
Speaking at a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, Trump said: “As you remember, I recently directed the Secretary of War — how good is Pete Hegseth doing, by the way — to begin releasing government files relating to UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena.”
The president then remarked on how excited the crowd became, saying, “I figured this was a good crowd because I know you people are really into that. I don’t know if I am.”
“So, I’m pleased to report today — I thought I’d save it for this crowd because you’re a little out there — that this process is well underway and we’ve found many very interesting documents, I must say,” Trump continued. “And the first releases will begin very, very soon.”

The hype train for the release of documents and media related to what the United States government knows about UFOs and advanced technology has been gaining steam for months.
Trumps’s executive order on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-orders-release-of-any-and-all-info-on-aliens-and-ufos">February 19</a> directed the War Department and other agencies to “begin the process of identifying and releasing Government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”
In the wake of the president’s order, several congresspeople who have been involved with UFO disclosure efforts applied pressure to the administration to follow through.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL), for example, sent <a href="https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/UAP-Request-Letter-FINAL.pdf">a letter</a> to Secretary of War Pete Hegseth requesting the disclosure of 46 known videos believed to be in possession of the U.S. government. She gave an April 14 deadline, but the date came and went without the videos being released.
All of this comes in the wake of several blockbuster congressional hearings since 2023 featuring seemingly credible witnesses to UFOs and alleged non-human tech — and even living organisms.
In March, the federal government <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/03/18/us-news/white-house-registers-aliens-gov-domain-name/">registered</a> alien.gov and aliens.gov — likely in preparation for the publication of files.
The Trump administration appears poised to make some kind of release. While it&#8217;s impossible to know with any certainty what documents, photographs, and footage may be published and if they will impact the public&#8217;s perception of the topic in any significant way, the momentum is certainly on the side of transparency and disclosure.

That’s a funny answer. But Cohen just moves on. 
Brian Tyler Cohen has set the new gold standard for incompetence at interviewing. There&#8217;s no follow-up. 
A president of the United States declares that aliens are real, and Cohen decides to not follow up on it. Oh, how do you know that? How do you know aliens are real?
Obama has now come out <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/barack-obama-clarifies-seen-no-evidence-aliens-saying-real-rcna259232">to clarify</a> his statement, offering a whole lot of liberal nonsense about the distance between solar systems:

Statistically, the universe is so vast that the odds are good there’s life out there. But the distances between solar systems are so great that the chances we’ve been visited by aliens is low, and I saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us. Really!</blockquote>
Liberals always say things like this — the solar system is so large, statistically there has to be intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.
But they never explain why that is. Because in order to ascertain the probability of something, you have to know how that thing came about in the first place. You have to know something, anything, about that thing. And at the level of pure nature, we don&#8217;t.
Now from a theological and anthropological level, I think we do know. But from the point of view of nature, we do not know how life came about. We don&#8217;t know, for instance, how one goes from inorganic to organic matter. There have been a zillion theories over the years, and none of them have been proven, but some of them have been disproven. 
So the argument that the universe is really, really big actually does not imply that there is intelligent life — or life of any kind anywhere else.
But the reason that the libs love aliens is because the existence of aliens diminishes the distinction of human beings. It makes us less special. That&#8217;s usually their explicit argument.
They say things like, What, you think you&#8217;re so special? A universe that&#8217;s eight gazillion bajillion miles wide and expanding, with countless worlds — you think you&#8217;re so special?
And my answer — and I believe the Christian answer — is yes, I think we’re pretty special.
The deeper reason the libs always promote aliens is because it diminishes the Incarnation. Because Christ is a man, because God becomes a man. He doesn&#8217;t become E.T., he doesn&#8217;t become a gazelle. He becomes a man, and he raises our very humanity to inestimable dignity.

And the libs (and demons) want to diminish that. Satan falls from heaven because he can&#8217;t bow down to a man. Basically that&#8217;s what&#8217;s at the heart of this. I&#8217;m not saying that all the libs who promote the alien stuff are actively working with demons. I&#8217;m not. I really am not. I don&#8217;t see demons under every rock. But it is curious that so much of liberalism comes down to a prideful attempt to exalt man above his station and ends by degrading man below his station.
It begins by this notion that we&#8217;ll have no kings or priests. Man will only be free when the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest. We&#8217;re just humanists now. We&#8217;re going to raise humanity up. We&#8217;re going to maximize individual autonomy.
And then what&#8217;s the end of it? The end of it is we degrade ourselves. We pretend that we&#8217;re just sacks of meat that exist only for pleasure. We promote things like abortion, slaughtering babies, and degrading humanity. We promote things like suicide, slaughtering ourselves, again degrading humanity.
We reduce ourselves below the station to which we&#8217;ve been raised. No surprise there. So when Obama says, look, I&#8217;m clarifying, I don&#8217;t see any evidence of aliens — I think he&#8217;s probably being honest here. I think his knee-jerk reaction of, well, of course aliens exist, the certainty in that just comes from his liberalism: we have to be — humans aren&#8217;t special. You think you&#8217;re so special?
But we are. We are actually.
It&#8217;s actually a harder truth. It is a more realistic view, but it&#8217;s more difficult, and it entails more responsibility to say yes, we are special. It&#8217;s kind of weird, right, that we, among all of the created things, have rational wills. Isn&#8217;t that kind of weird that we can conceive of abstract things? Unlike every animal and plant and all organic matter on Earth? We are finite and mortal, we die — but we have this immortal, eternal aspect to ourselves because we can reason.
Isn&#8217;t that kind of weird that nothing else that we&#8217;ve ever encountered or really even can conceive of has that combination of flesh and reason and will?
That makes us kind of special.
You are special, believe it or not.

Topline: Israel conducted a precision strike against senior Hamas leaders in Qatar on Tuesday, just a day after the terror group rejected a new ceasefire proposal from President Trump.
The strike targeted top Hamas officials who have been living and operating out of Qatar, which has served as a protected refuge for the terror group&#8217;s leadership. It appears to be the first time Israel has struck Hamas officials inside the country. Qatar condemned the attack as a &#8220;blatant violation of all international laws and norms.&#8221; The White House said the U.S. was notified of the attack ahead of time and, in turn, informed Qatar. President Trump &#8220;believes this unfortunate incident could serve as an opportunity for peace,&#8221; said Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
The strike came shortly after Hamas rejected a new peace proposal from the Trump administration, calling it a &#8220;humiliating surrender document.&#8221; The proposal would have required Hamas to release all remaining hostages in exchange for Israel releasing thousands of Palestinian prisoners.
The events follow a separate Hamas terror attack in Jerusalem on Monday that killed six people and wounded 12 others.

Topline: The Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday announced that it had overcounted U.S. jobs by nearly one million last year, the largest downward revision in American history, confirming President Trump’s claims that the economy he inherited was far weaker than reported.
In its annual revision, the BLS announced that from March 2024 to March 2025, the economy added 910,000 fewer jobs than was initially reported. The more than 50% downward revision means the economy was adding only 70,000 jobs per month during that period, not 147,000. The White House said the news makes it &#8220;very clear that President Trump inherited a much worse economy &#8230; than ever reported&#8221; and proves that the Federal Reserve&#8217;s interest rate policy has been &#8220;far too restrictive.&#8221;
The massive revision reinforces the president&#8217;s push to overhaul the BLS, an agency he has accused of producing inaccurate data. &#8220;Much like the CDC, everything is wrong with the Bureau of Labor Statistics,&#8221; said Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS), who is in charge of confirming Trump&#8217;s nominee to lead the agency. &#8220;We need someone &#8230; to come in there and turn that place upside down.&#8221;
The shocking report makes it much more likely that the Fed will finally cut interest rates later this month, a move President Trump has been demanding for months.

In the third congressional hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAPs) since 2023, two veterans described their own sightings. One recounted seeing a &#8220;tic-tac-shaped object&#8221; emerge from the ocean, while another described a 100-foot-long triangular craft that flew within feet of him and interfered with his telephone before rapidly ascending with no sound or kinetic disturbance. In the hearing’s most shocking moment, a congressman shared a never-before-seen video of a Hellfire missile striking a UAP with seemingly no effect.
The hearing highlighted a growing bipartisan consensus that the government is hiding the truth about UFOs. &#8220;This is not science fiction,&#8221; said Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna, who is leading the task force. &#8220;This is about national security, government accountability, and the American people’s right to the truth.” Florida Democrat Jared Moskowitz summed up the mood of the hearing, saying, &#8220;I do know when we’re being lied to, and we are definitely being lied to.&#8221;

Tuesday’s Congressional hearing on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), titled “Restoring Public Trust Through UAP Transparency and Whistleblower Protection,” featured extraordinary testimony — including personal encounters with airborne objects of unknown origin.
Perhaps the most striking moment came not from spoken testimony, but from a newly revealed video presented by Rep. Eric Burlison (R-MO). The footage shows what appears to be an AGM-114 Hellfire missile fired from an MQ-9 Reaper drone at an orb-shaped UFO. Shockingly, the missile appears to bounce off the object, causing little to no damage, as the orb continues traveling. The video was reportedly recorded in October 2024 off the coast of Yemen.
Burlison noted that he had been “given” the video.
Witnesses included U.S. Air Force veterans Jeffrey Nuccetelli and Dylan Borland, Chief Alexandro Wiggins, and investigative journalist George Knapp.
Knapp added that while he had discussed the footage on a podcast, he had not seen it before the hearing. He claimed, “There are servers where there’s a whole bank of these kinds of videos that Congress has not been allowed to see, that the public hasn’t been allowed to see.”
“That’s a Hellfire missile smacking into that UFO, and just bounced right off — and it kept going,” he said.
Burlison replied: “It kept going, and it looks like the debris was taken with it.” The congressman added that while he wasn’t going “to speculate” on the exact nature of the object, he wondered why such information is being withheld from Congress.
Later in the hearing, Chair Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) asked the witnesses — while the missile video played in the background — whether they were “aware of anything in the United States government arsenal that can split a Hellfire missile like this?”
Two witnesses responded in the negative, while Borland stated he would prefer to answer that question in a SCIF (Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility). Luna then followed up, asking if the video “scared” any of them. Three witnesses answered “yes,” though Borland began to caveat before being cut off.

The most compelling testimony from the hearing came from former Military Police Officer Jeffrey Nuccetelli and former Geospatial Intelligence Specialist Dylan Borland. Nuccetelli described multiple UFO incursions at Vandenberg Air Force Base, as well as his own personal sighting.
“Each incident was witnessed by multiple personnel, documented, investigated, and reported up the chain of command,” Nuccetelli said. He noted that official Air Force records pertaining to a 2003 sighting by Boeing contractors of a “massive, glowing red square silently hovering above two missile defense sites” are held by the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) and the FBI.
Among several incidents, Nuccetelli described one involving a “massive triangular craft, larger than a football field that hovered silently” before accelerating away “at impossible speed.”
He also detailed a personal encounter: “I was off-duty, sitting in my backyard with two other police officers, and we noticed what first appeared to be a satellite in orbit — but it wasn’t acting like a satellite.”
The object, he said, maneuvered oddly before “reappeared 200 feet over my house.” He described it as a “30-foot diameter sphere of light” that soon flew away and vanished into the night sky.
Borland testified about a 2012 encounter in which he saw “an approximately 100-foot equilateral triangle take off from near the NASA hangar on the base.” He said the object interfered with his cell phone, made no sound, and “the material it was made of appeared fluid or dynamic.”
According to Borland, the craft hovered for several minutes before ascending rapidly to “commercial jet level in seconds, displaying zero kinetic disturbance, sound, or wind displacement.”
He also revealed that years later, he was made privy to “classified information from the UAP legacy crash retrieval program through a sensitive position I held within a Special Access Program.”
Borland claimed he has faced severe retaliation, including “denial of work,” “forged and manipulated employment documents, workplace harassment,” and “manipulation of my security clearance by certain agencies, blocking, delaying, and ultimately removing my ability to be employed within the IC.” He said the retaliation he and others experienced drove him to become a whistleblower.
Several lawmakers highlighted the importance of Rep. Tim Burchett’s proposed legislation, the UAP Whistleblower Protection Act (H.R. 5060), as well as the broader UAP Disclosure Act, which has repeatedly been stymied in Congress.
While perhaps not as headline-grabbing as the July 2023 testimony of whistleblower David Grusch, Tuesday’s hearing is likely to sustain public interest and continue to build momentum for UAP transparency in the political arena.

A Tuesday hearing on UFOs falls in the shadow of the blockbuster testimony delivered in July 2023 by whistleblower David Grusch.
Grusch claimed that, according to numerous sources he interviewed, both the U.S. government and private aerospace firms are in possession of exotic craft and materials. These public and private entities have even recovered “biologics,” non-human organisms, according to Grusch.
The September 9 <a href="https://oversight.house.gov/hearing/restoring-public-trust-through-uap-transparency-and-whistleblower-protection/">congressional hearing</a> on Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena — more commonly known as UFOs — is titled “Restoring Public Trust Through UAP Transparency and Whistleblower Protection.”
Ahead of the event, The Daily Wire spoke with Congressman Eric Burlison, a Republican representing Missouri’s 7th Congressional District, who has emerged as a key figure in the House’s disclosure efforts.
When asked what this hearing could achieve, Burlison shared that at least two witnesses have had firsthand encounters, marking a departure from previous hearings where the most sensational claims were based on secondhand accounts.
The witnesses, identified by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna of Florida, include U.S. Air Force veterans Jeffrey Nuccetelli and Dylan Borland, Chief Alexandro Wiggins, and investigative journalist George Knapp.
While none of the witnesses are believed to have worked directly for “The Program” — a term referring to alleged Special Access Programs handling recovered exotic materials — Burlison said he is actively seeking individuals who have. He noted, however, that some potential witnesses are fearful about coming forward publicly.
Although Burlison has not faced direct threats or intimidation from lawmakers or members of the Intelligence Community, he said he has been cautioned by allies regarding &#8220;specific people to watch out for.&#8221;
Rep. Tim Burchett of Tennessee, another key figure in the disclosure movement, recently introduced the UAP Whistleblower Protection Act (<a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/5060/text?s=1&amp;r=4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">H.R. 5060</a>). The bill aims to “provide whistleblower protections to Federal personnel for disclosing the use of Federal taxpayer funds to evaluate or research unidentified anomalous phenomenon material, and for other purposes.”
Burlison noted that the bill is part of a broader effort being made to “grant amnesty to people who are willing to come forward just so long as they&#8217;re speaking the truth,” which would “create an atmosphere that provides safety.”

Beyond the hearing itself, Burlison emphasized the importance of a series of official letters being prepared with the assistance of David Grusch &#8212; who now works for the congressman. These interrogatory letters, which carry “significant weight,” will be sent to “different entities to get further information.”
“I want people to know, regardless of how the hearing goes, to me, the most important thing that&#8217;s going to come out of it is the interrogatory letters that we will be dropping at the time of the hearing.”

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard stoked the fires of those who believe in aliens from outer space, hinting, “We’re continuing to look for the truth and share that truth with the American people.”
Gabbard was interviewed by Miranda Devine on her “Pod Force One” podcast, released on Wednesday.
“Is there anything — we’ve had some declassification of some very strange videos that look like they are unidentified flying objects. Is there anything in the files that you think you could find or have found?” Devine asked.

Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) will lead the &#8220;Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets&#8221; just weeks after President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/everything-will-be-revealed-trump-declassifies-jfk-rfk-and-mlk-jr-assassination-files" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an order to declassify the assassination files of former President John F. Kennedy, former U.S. Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
&#8220;For too long, the federal government has kept information of public interest classified and the American people are demanding greater transparency. This secrecy has sowed distrust in our institutions,&#8221; Comer said in a statement. &#8220;The Task Force will build on the Trump Administration’s efforts to declassify records of national importance and ensure Americans get the answers they deserve. Representative Luna is committed to shining a light on the truth and ending the era of secrecy. A press release said the task force has been authorized for six months pursuant to committee rules, and members would be announced at a later date. The Oversight Committee also revealed a battery of <a href="https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/Task-Force-Letters.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letters</a> that Comer and Luna sent to leaders, including Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Attorney General Pam Bondi, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Energy Secretary Chris Wright, and Lt. Gen. Timothy Haugh, seeking briefings in light of Trump&#8217;s order and noting they would then request to see relevant documents and make recommendations on the declassification process.

Federal authorities <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/dhs-fbi-release-statement-about-drone-sightings-in-new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">insist</a> they have no evidence of a threat to the public or national security. In fact, the FBI and Homeland Security Department said &#8220;electronic detection&#8221; have failed to corroborate any of the sightings.
&#8220;To the contrary, upon review of available imagery, it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft, operating lawfully,&#8221; the two U.S. agencies emphasized in a joint statement released on Thursday.

The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI are investigating the &#8220;sightings&#8221; and are &#8220;working closely&#8221; with state and local law enforcement to &#8220;provide resources using numerous detection methods to better understand their origin,&#8221; Kirby continued.

&#8220;Using various sophisticated electronic detection technologies provided by federal authorities, we have not been able to, and neither have state or local law enforcement authorities, corroborate any of the reported visual sightings,&#8221; Kirby said.
&#8220;To the contrary,&#8221; he added, &#8220;upon review of available imagery it appears that many of the reported sightings are actually manned aircraft that are being operated lawfully.&#8221;
Kirby said the U.S. Coast Guard has &#8220;confirmed&#8221; that there is no evidence of foreign-based coastal vessels and insisted that there are no reported or confirmed drone sightings in any restricted airspace.

Kirby said the reported sightings &#8220;highlight a gap in authorities&#8221; and therefore the White House encourages Congress to &#8220;pass important legislation that will extend and expand existing counter-drone authorities.&#8221;
Such an expansion would help ensure &#8220;we are better prepared to identify and mitigate any potential threats to airports or any other critical infrastructure and so that state and local authorities are provided all the tools they need to respond to such threats as well,&#8221; Kirby said.

Van Drew said &#8220;of course&#8221; people are concerned and stressed that what he did was pass forward information from sources who possess a &#8220;high-security clearance.&#8221;
New Jersey Republican Assemblywoman Dawn Fantasia <a href="https://x.com/DawnFantasia_NJ/status/1866896860578717994" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shared</a> to X on Wednesday details from a briefing in which the drones were described as being up to 6 feet in diameter, operated in a coordinated manner, and appeared to avoid detection by helicopters and radio frequencies.
&#8220;We know nothing. PERIOD,&#8221; Fantasia emphasized. &#8220;To state that there is no known or credible threat is incredibly misleading, and I informed all officials of that sentiment.&#8221;
Singh said during her press briefing that the Pentagon had &#8220;no evidence&#8221; that the reported drone activity came from a foreign entity or adversary and insisted that no military installation had been threatened. She also denied that people were seeing U.S. military drones.
Van Drew argued the drone reports indicate they are too &#8220;sophisticated&#8221; to be flown by hobbyists or come from a U.S. company. He also contended the drones could be launched from a ship hundreds of miles out at sea, perhaps from China or another country, if not Iran.
&#8220;Why don&#8217;t they take one of them down, analyze it, and let us know what&#8217;s really happening,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I hope they know more than they&#8217;re telling us &#8230; It&#8217;s about time they leveled with the truth.&#8221;

&#8220;What is going on in New Jersey?&#8221; House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Counterterrorism, Law Enforcement, and Intelligence Chairman August Pfluger (R-TX) asked Robert Wheeler Jr., the FBI&#8217;s assistant director of the Critical Incident Response Group, during a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/live/dTotPeiMjlc" target="_blank" rel="noopener">hearing</a> on Capitol Hill.

Wheeler said the FBI is &#8220;actively investigating&#8221; the &#8220;unexplained sighting of drone activity&#8221; over New Jersey, including &#8220;proximity to sensitive sights and areas of concern,&#8221; and stressed investigators &#8220;do not attribute that to an individual or group yet.&#8221;
Pfluger asked if there are &#8220;nefarious intentions&#8221; that could lead to a national security or public safety incident that could put Americans at risk. Wheeler replied, &#8220;There is nothing that is known that would lead me to say that. And that&#8217;s the concerning part.&#8221;

Noting that there have been other &#8220;incidents,&#8221; including last year when &#8220;unknown drones&#8221; <a href="https://www.wsj.com/politics/national-security/drones-military-pentagon-defense-331871f4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">were flying over</a> Langley Air Force Base in Virginia, Pfluger then asked &#8220;why can&#8217;t we take action&#8221; against drones flying over sensitive sites.
&#8220;Authority exists to mitigate a UAS in flight when authorized, and that could certainly apply to a sensitive site,&#8221; Wheeler said, using the <a href="https://www.faa.gov/faq/what-unmanned-aircraft-system-uas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acronym</a> for unmanned aircraft systems. He also suggested it would be a decision for the Department of Defense.
Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) shared that a Coast Guard officer said a 47-foot boat “was followed by between 12 and 30 of these drones as they went through the water.&#8221; The lawmaker said he wants to know why drones are not shot down over water.

Wheeler testified alongside Keith Jones, the deputy executive assistant commissioner of Air and Marine Operations for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and Deputy Assistant Attorney General for National Security Brad Wiegmann.
Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-TX) also pressed Wheeler, saying, &#8220;You&#8217;re telling me we don&#8217;t know what the hell these drones are in New Jersey. Is that correct? &#8221; After Wheeler responded with, &#8220;That&#8217;s right,&#8221; Gonzales declared, &#8220;That&#8217;s crazy. &#8230; That&#8217;s madness that we don&#8217;t know what these drones are.&#8221;
Suspected drones or UAS have also been spotted in the vicinity of <a href="https://www.silive.com/news/2024/12/more-mystery-drones-spotted-over-staten-island-heres-what-we-know-so-far.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Staten Island</a> and <a href="https://pix11.com/news/local-news/brooklyn/drones-spotted-in-bay-ridge-brooklyn/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brooklyn</a>, where there is a power plant, Coast Guard base, and military installation, Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-NY) said during the hearing.

Picking up on Wheeler saying officials do not know of any threats, Malliotakis asked him if there is &#8220;still a possibility&#8221; of there being one. Wheeler said &#8220;yes&#8221; to the question. He also said he did not know whether the sightings could be related to tests of security technologies for emergency responders.

FBI Clueless About Mystery Drones Flying Over New Jersey, Official Tells Congress

Members of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/congress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Congress</a> are speaking out on &#8220;unknown drones&#8221; that have been spotted by residents zipping around in the skies of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-jersey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New Jersey</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/new-york" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York</a> over the past few weeks.
These sightings have prompted investigations, Federal Aviation Administration flight restrictions, and demands for more transparency about what is happening.
Fox News senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram <a href="https://x.com/ChadPergram/status/1866510654355419408" target="_blank" rel="noopener">posted to X</a> on Tuesday about an exchange he had with House Speaker <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/mike-johnson" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mike Johnson</a> (R-LA) about the situation ahead of a <a href="https://www.c-span.org/video/?540488-1/hearing-security-threats-posed-drones" target="_blank" rel="noopener">drone-focused hearing</a>:
<blockquote>Pergram: It seems as though Members from both sides are not getting answers about these drones or whatever they’re seeing in New Jersey and Staten Island. There’s a hearing focusing on this today. What is the level of concern? Do you think the government is being straight? And Members can’t even get answers on this.
Johnson: We’re working on that. We need straight answers of course. We are concerned about drones and all of these new technologies and what it might mean for national security and the safety of the American citizen. I’m looking forward to the outcome of that hearing. And if we don’t get the necessary answers there, we’ll dig deeper and go to the classified level.
Pergram: Any thought that these might be “dark” programs?
Johnson: I hope not. I do not believe so. But there’s a lot of investigation going on. So we’ll find out.</blockquote>
Other lawmakers, including members of both parties and chambers of Congress, have also sounded off on the sightings.
&#8220;Last December, a fleet of drones swarmed Langley Air Force Base next to my district, and now, more drones are swarming sites along the East Coast,&#8221; Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA), <a href="https://wittman.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=4802">vice chairman</a> of the Armed Services Committee, posted to <a href="https://twitter.com/RobWittman/status/1866231771651526829">X</a> on Tuesday.

&#8220;This is a serious threat to public safety and national security — we&#8217;ve got to invest in our nation&#8217;s counter-drone programs if we want to deter adversaries from gathering information on Americans,&#8221; he added.
&#8220;Repeated incidents involving unknown drones over American airspace must be addressed. That is why I am leading a charge to update DOD’s authorities to detect and stop these drones when they are over military facilities,&#8221; Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) <a href="https://x.com/gillibrandny/status/1866297517228314944" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a post to X.
Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) <a href="https://x.com/SenBooker/status/1866517379045536159" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a post to X, &#8220;My office has been in communication with Governor Murphy’s office and our federal agency partners. While the drones currently pose no known threat to the public, my team and I will continue to monitor the situation closely.&#8221;
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, a Democrat, similarly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/authorities-taking-mysterious-ufo-sightings-in-new-jersey-deadly-seriously-governor-says" target="_blank" rel="noopener">emphasized</a> to reporters on Monday that officials did not see anything that would warrant public safety concerns, but he also said authorities were taking the sightings &#8220;deadly seriously&#8221; and he participated in discussions with the White House and Homeland Security leaders &#8220;pretty much all day&#8221; on Sunday.
Dozens of sightings have been called in since November. Some activity has been reported around President-elect Donald Trump&#8217;s golf club in Bedminster, where <a href="https://www.inquirer.com/news/new-jersey/drones-new-jersey-trump-bedminster-golf-course-fbi-20241206.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">&#8220;car-sized&#8221; drones</a> have reportedly been spotted.
What people are seeing are &#8220;apparently very, as I understand it, very sophisticated. The minute you get eyes on them, they go dark,&#8221; Murphy said. &#8220;We&#8217;re obviously most concerned about sensitive targets, and sensitive critical infrastructure. So we&#8217;ve got military assets, we&#8217;ve got utility assets, we&#8217;ve got the president-elect — one of his homes here.&#8221;
The FBI released a <a href="https://www.fbi.gov/contact-us/field-offices/newark/news/fbi-newark-seeks-information-on-drone-sightings" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> last week stating that investigators were seeking any information from the public on &#8220;the cluster of what look to be drones and a possible fixed wing aircraft&#8221; along the Raritan River in New Jersey.
Suspected drones have also been spotted in New York&#8217;s <a href="https://www.silive.com/news/2024/12/more-mystery-drones-spotted-over-staten-island-heres-what-we-know-so-far.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Staten Island</a> and <a href="https://pix11.com/news/local-news/brooklyn/drones-spotted-in-bay-ridge-brooklyn/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Brooklyn</a>.
Rep. Tom Kean (R-NJ), whose district is where many of the sightings in the Garden State have been reported, expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of answers in a <a href="https://x.com/CongressmanKean/status/1866212055532933538" target="_blank" rel="noopener">post</a> to X on Monday.
&#8220;I join thousands of New Jersey residents in deep frustration regarding the growing concerns over drones operating in our skies. The safety and privacy of our residents must be a top priority, and right now, both are being put at risk,&#8221; Kean said.
He added, &#8220;I am calling for the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Aviation Administration, and other appropriate federal agencies to deploy greater resources to investigate and address this escalating issue. Additionally, an in-depth public briefing from authorities should take place immediately.&#8221;
&#8220;The people of New Jersey deserve answers, and I will continue to demand accountability to ensure their rights and security are fully protected,&#8221; Kean concluded.
