West Virginia Rep. Riley Moore is pushing for the House to adopt an amendment that would codify President Donald Trump&#8217;s executive order that protects kids from transgender medical procedures, The Daily Wire has learned. 
Moore introduced the amendment on Tuesday night to the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2026, which is set to provide funding for multiple departments, including Health and Human Services and Homeland Security. 
The amendment would ensure that none of the funding could be used in opposition to Trump&#8217;s <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/protecting-children-from-chemical-and-surgical-mutilation/">executive order</a> that orders no federal funding to go toward entities and institutions that perform transgender medical procedures on kids. 
“None of the funds made available by this Act may be used in contravention of Executive Order 14187 (90 Fed. Reg. 8771; relating to Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical Mutilation,” a copy of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/MOORWV_041_xml.pdf">amendment</a> shared with The Daily Wire reads. 
The bill under consideration also <a href="https://appropriations.house.gov/news/press-releases/completing-fy26-committee-releases-conferenced-defense-homeland-lhhs-and-thud">provides funding</a> to the War Department, the Labor Department, the Department of Transportation, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. The House Rules Committee is meeting Wednesday to discuss advancing the legislation.
Trump&#8217;s executive order directed all agencies and departments of the federal government to &#8220;not fund, sponsor, promote, assist, or support the so-called &#8216;transition&#8217; of a child from one sex to another, and it will rigorously enforce all laws that prohibit or limit these destructive and life-altering procedures.&#8221;
American Principles Project President Terry Schilling urged House Republicans to support the Moore ammendment.
&#8220;Voters sent Republicans to Congress and the White House with a clear mandate to protect children from predatory doctors and their Democratic enablers,&#8221; he told The Daily Wire. &#8220;The Moore Amendment is a barrier to medical malpractice that has done untold harm to a generation of vulnerable children.&#8221; 
Last month, HHS <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-to-cut-funding-from-all-hospitals-that-perform-trans-procedures-on-kids">rolled out rules</a> to defund hospitals that perform transgender procedures on children and penalize doctors who administer those procedures. The rules bar hospitals that offer transgender procedures to minors from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs. The rules will prohibit federal funding of Medicaid’s Children’s Health Insurance Program from going toward transgender procedures on those under 19 years of age.
While the House has been able to advance measures similar to Moore’s in the past, it could face hurdles in the Senate. 
During the previous debate over the passage of President Donald Trump’s signature “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” the House passed an <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/long-overdue-house-republicans-vote-to-end-federal-funding-for-transgender-procedures">amendment</a> from Rep. Dan Crenshaw that would have prohibited all federal funding for transgender procedures on both children and adults. 
That provision was later cut from the legislation in the Senate after the Senate Parliamentarian <a href="https://www.budget.senate.gov/ranking-member/newsroom/press/byrd-rule-violations-continue-to-mount-on-the-republicans-one-big-beautiful-bill">ruled</a> that it was not in compliance with the Byrd Rule, a provision governing what can be included in a budget reconciliation bill.

Like many young American girls, when I was a teenager, I hated myself and my body. I was unhappy and anxious. Eventually, I was diagnosed with depression and anorexia. 
It goes without saying that I was no stranger to feeling like I wasn’t “me” in my own body. No one told me to get liposuction for my anorexia. But when I went to the counselor’s office for my first appointment for gender dysphoria, I left with a letter of approval for testosterone.
Since I’ve detransitioned, life has felt like a roller coaster. The physical distress I experienced going through hormone “therapy” and surgery that drastically changed my body is only one portion of how horrific it truly is to not only attempt something impossible by supposedly transitioning from one gender to another, but to return to identifying with reality.
I was called a patient, but from start to finish, I was never treated like one.
Being a patient requires informed consent and the exhaustion of all avenues of care before resorting to the most drastic option. And yet, from the start, doctors were ecstatic to accelerate my so-called transition without once suggesting mental health treatment. Instead, a counselor suggested almost immediately that I needed to be put on wrong-sex hormones. When I raised any suspicion that this was not the right choice for me, the doctors were far from supportive and made me feel like my voice didn’t matter anymore. I was praised for raising my voice and embracing who I thought I was, but only when I identified as trans. Yet when I voiced a dissenting opinion on the same topic, the response was underwhelming and even shame-inducing.
For years, gender clinics, medical associations, and activist groups have driven the conversation around so-called “gender-affirming care,” but there has never been any long-term testing done to see what the implications of these treatments are on minors, especially the ones still going through puberty. Any time a question was raised as to whether this was safe, or if there could be a possibility of trans-identifying minors changing their minds down the road, it was diminished as “rare” and accused of putting politics over the mental health of these children.
The Trump administration has been the first presidential administration to sound the alarm on these harmful practices. For the first time, federal agencies started to ask the questions that detransitioners had been trying to warn the public about: are these “treatments” actually safe, or are they doing more harm than good?
In his first year back in office, President Trump has elevated the voices of detransitioners like me. Last summer, I had the honor of testifying <a href="https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/GAC-RFI-FINAL.pdf">in front of the Federal Trade Commission</a>, sharing my experience of how I was essentially forced into “gender-affirming care,” instead of the mental health care and therapy I desperately needed. Only a few years ago, my voice would have never been heard in the federal landscape.
Gender medicine has thrived in a system with zero accountability. I am proud to be at the forefront of a movement that is finally asking for the kind of accountability that is long overdue.
Detransitioners like me have been gaslit into believing we are anomalies, and that if doctors hadn’t taken action, we would’ve been suicidal or worse, dead. What the mainstream doesn’t want you to know is that my mental health issues didn’t magically disappear overnight once I began transitioning — they actually got worse. Yet the doctors who led me down this path have faced zero opposition and zero accountability — until now.
President Trump and his administration have been a disruptor to the system of gender ideology since day one. His administration has led the charge to make sure that the doctors, experts, and gender-ideology apologists finally answer the questions that have been stamped down, argued as ridiculous, and smeared by those who chose ideology over reality.
One of the first actions President Trump took upon being back in the Oval Office was <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/2025/01/28/president-trump-protects-americas-children-from-chemical-surgical-mutilation-in-latest-executive-order/">signing an executive order</a> to protect minors from receiving any sex-changing surgery or procedure. This executive order also directs the Department of Health and Human Services to prevent taxpayer dollars from being used to subsidize irreversible medical harm to children. HHS’s proposed guardrails bar hospitals that perform “gender-affirming care” from participating in Medicare and Medicaid.
Late last year, HHS also <a href="https://www.independentwomen.com/2025/12/18/hhs-takes-historic-action-to-ban-body-mutilating-medical-procedures-targeting-gender-confused-youth/">released a peer-reviewed, evidence-based review</a> concluding pediatric gender interventions lack long-term safety data and do not meet professionally recognized standards of care. Secretary Kennedy formally declared that these dangerous procedures were far outside acceptable medical practice. This bold move was the nail in the coffin of the claim that “the science is settled” and got gender medicine back on track based on evidence, ethics, and informed consent.
Detransitioners like myself are grateful for the actions taken by the Trump administration that will ensure the safety and well-being of the next generation.
While my detransitioner friends and I may not have been protected, I know that the work we have put in — in speaking out, standing up, and tirelessly testifying across the country — will have a meaningful impact in protecting kids who are struggling with their mental health. I will continue to fight for the childhoods of every gender-confused kid out there so that they are protected from fear, coercion, and medical harm.

A Colorado hospital has been referred for a federal investigation over its “failure” to comply with standards on transgender medical procedures for children, the Department of Health and Human Services announced Tuesday. 
HHS General Counsel Mike Stuart <a href="https://x.com/HHSGCMikeStuart/status/2006110061114851333">said</a> that he had referred the Children’s Hospital Colorado to the department’s inspector general over its response to Trump administration guidance on transgender procedures for minors. The hospital has been engaged in a separate legal dispute with the Justice Department over data requested by the Trump administration related to its administration of such procedures. 
Stuart said he referred the hospital for “failure to meet recognized standards of health care” set forth by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in a “declaration that sex-rejecting procedures for children and adolescents are neither safe nor effective.”
HHS “will always take every possible action to ensure children all across the nation are safe and protected,” Stuart added. 
The referral comes as the hospital seeks to quash a subpoena issued by the Justice Department in July demanding records concerning gender-related treatments, including insurance claims, billing records, internal guidance, any documents on alternative billing codes for gender dysphoria, and information on kids who were prescribed puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones. The subpoena was sent to more than 20 doctors and hospitals that performed transgender medical procedures on children.
The Justice Department is investigating “whether the promotion, marketing, labeling, sale, and distribution of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to treat gender dysphoria and related disorders could violate the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act,” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/31.pdf">according</a> to court documents. 
The hospital has so far refused to produce documents, stating that it will not release private medical information.

A coalition of Democrat attorneys general sued to block the Trump administration’s efforts to protect children from transgender medical procedures. 
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield filed a <a href="https://www.doj.state.or.us/wp-content/uploads/2025/12/Oregon-v-Kennedy-Complaint-25cv02409.pdf">suit</a> on Tuesday seeking to challenge the Department of Health and Human Services’ actions to cut off funding for hospitals that perform transgender procedures on kids. In the suit, the Democrat officials claim that transgender procedures are “safe and effective” for young children. 
“By targeting Oregon providers, HHS is putting care at risk and forcing families to choose between their personal health care choices and their doctor’s ability to practice,” Rayfield claimed. “Healthcare decisions belong with families and their healthcare providers, not the government.”
Other states that joined the suit included California, New York, Wisconsin, and over a dozen others. Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro also joined the suit. The suit claimed that HHS violated the Administrative Procedure Act and the Medicare and Medicaid statutes when it moved to cut funding for hospitals. 
“Research and clinical data support gender-affirming care as a safe and effective treatment for gender dysphoria in adolescents. Patients receiving gender-affirming care have high rates of satisfaction and low incidence of regret compared with other medical treatments,” the suit said. 
Those claims run afoul of research that shows that treatments like puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones can cause infertility, impaired sexual function, diminished bone density, altered brain development, and other irreversible physiological effects. The procedures endorsed by the Democrat officials also include genital mutilation and double mastectomies for girls who identify as boys.

The Trump administration rolled out new rules on Thursday that will defund hospitals that perform transgender procedures on children and penalize doctors who administer those procedures. 
The Department of Health and Human Services posted rules that will bar hospitals that offer transgender procedures to minors from participating in Medicare and Medicaid programs. The rules will also prohibit federal funding of Medicaid&#8217;s Children’s Health Insurance Program from going toward transgender procedures on those under 19 years of age. 
“Collectively, these actions will ensure that the federal government in no way funds directly gender-transition procedures on minors and also does not fund facilities that perform these procedures on minors,” an HHS official said on a background call attended by The Daily Wire. 
“Nearly all U.S. hospitals participate in Medicare and Medicaid, and this action is designed to ensure that the U.S. government will not be in business with organizations that intentionally or unintentionally inflict permanent harm on children,” an HHS background document on the announcement said. 
There will be a sixty-day comment period on the proposed regulations before they take effect. The actions were rooted in an HHS review of transgender procedures that found they had harmful impacts on children’s health. 
“Sex-rejecting procedures on children — which include puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgical operations — cause irreversible damage, including infertility, impaired sexual function, diminished bone density, altered brain development, and other irreversible physiological effects,” HHS said. 
HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also signed a declaration that medical professionals who perform transgender procedures are out of compliance with professionally recognized standards of health care. The declaration summarized the HHS review of the procedures. 
In line with that declaration, Assistant Secretary for HHS Public Health Service, Admiral Brian Christine, signed a public health message stating that the evidence does not support transgender procedures. The HHS Office of Civil Rights also put forth a rule saying “policies preventing or limiting sex-rejecting procedures” do not violate nondiscrimination laws.

Additionally, the FDA issued warning letters to 12 manufacturers of breast binders “for illegal marketing of breast binders to children for the purposes of treating gender dysphoria.” Breast binders have been given to young girls who want to have a more masculine-looking chest. The letters inform the companies that they must take action to come back into compliance with the approved use of the binders. 
The actions were taken as a result of President Donald Trump’s executive order that directed his administration to take action end all support and funding for transgender procedures on children.
The move was praised by Stanley Goldfarb, the chair of the organization Do No Harm.
“President Trump and HHS are taking another critical step to protect children from harmful gender ideology,&#8221; he told The Daily Wire. &#8220;The proposed rule – banning hospitals from performing sex change interventions on minors as a condition for Medicare and Medicaid participation – is common sense, evidence-based, and morally imperative. Many so-called gender clinics have already begun to close as the truth about the risks and long-term harms about these drugs and surgeries on minors have been exposed.&#8221;

The House on Wednesday approved a bill that would prohibit doctors across the country from performing transgender surgeries on minors or giving gender-confused kids puberty blockers or cross-sex hormones.
The legislation, introduced by outgoing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), passed 216-211. Under Greene&#8217;s proposal, doctors who provide transgender procedures to children could face steep fines or up to 10 years in prison. 
“One of the most serious responsibilities we have is adults and particularly those of us who are elected and hold power when it comes to legislating and making laws is to protect children. Today, the House is delivering on what the American people voted for,” Greene said from the House floor. “Most Americans agree that kids just need to grow up before they do anything radical, like a mastectomy on a 15-year-old girl, castrate themselves through surgery, or even take dangerous drugs that have lifelong effects.”
Democrat Reps. Henry Cuellar (Texas), Donald Davis (North Carolina), and Vicente Gonzalez (Texas) joined 213 Republicans in backing the measure. Four Republicans, including Reps. Gabe Evans (Colorado), Brian Fitzpatrick (Pennsylvania), Mike Kennedy (Utah), and Mike Lawler (New York) voted against the bill. 
More than three dozen Republicans co-sponsored the proposal, known as the “Protect Children’s Innocence Act.” 
The procedures prohibited in the bill include giving males who identify as girls estrogen and females who identify as boys testosterone. Cross-sex hormones given to children can have profound impacts on fertility, sexual function, and heart health. The law also blocks doctors from giving kids puberty blockers, which can significantly harm bone development. 
It would also ban genital surgeries and the removal of the breasts of girls who identify as boys.

American Principles Project President Terry Schilling praised the bill&#8217;s passage. 
“Republicans showed today that they are as committed to protecting children as Democrats are to disfiguring them,” he told The Daily Wire. “Bipartisan supermajorities support commonsense protections for at-risk children, and yet only three Democrats had the moral courage to stand up to a multi-billion-dollar industry that profits off of the misery of American kids. Democrats have been captured by an ideology that is as poisonous as it is profitable.”
The legislation now heads to the Senate, where Republicans have previously introduced similar proposals. In September, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/exclusive-new-blackburn-bill-would-end-barbaric-transgender-procedures-nationwide">introduced</a> legislation to ban transgender procedures nationwide, a measure the Trump administration quickly endorsed. The bill has not advanced since its introduction and has not yet received a committee hearing or vote.
More than two dozen states have moved to enact similar bans on transgender procedures over the last few years.

Doctors who perform transgender procedures on children across the globe may soon be unwelcome in the United States thanks to new legislation proposed by a North Carolina Republican.
Rep. Addison McDowell introduced a bill Thursday that would block the entry of foreign doctors who have put American children on cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers or performed transgender surgeries on them. The proposal, first shared with The Daily Wire, would also bar the entry of foreign doctors who are members of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), a radical organization that has promoted transgender procedures for kids. 
“There is no reason Washington should look the other way while American kids are harmed overseas,” McDowell told The Daily Wire. “This bill draws a clear line – if you participate in the mutilation of American children, you are not welcome in this country.”
The push comes as there have been <a href="https://www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-news/families-say-leaving-us-anti-transgender-climate-rcna206560">reports</a> of parents leaving the United States with their children to pursue such procedures because of the Trump administration’s crackdown on radical transgender ideology. 
“This is about protecting kids, plain and simple,” McDowell added. “If a procedure is so extreme that it’s restricted in states here at home, we shouldn’t allow foreign actors to profit from it and then come back to the United States like nothing happened. American children deserve protection, not loopholes.”
Republican Reps. Tim Moore (NC), Josh Brecheen (OK), Randy Weber (TX), David Taylor (OH), and Marlin Stutzman (IN) are co-sponsoring the legislation, titled the “Protecting Children From Foreign Mutilation Act.”
&#8220;Foreigners who perform irreversible gender transition procedures on our children are not welcome here. Congress must continue our work to shield our children and families from falling victim to the Left&#8217;s gender ideology, and I&#8217;m proud to support the Protecting Children from Foreign Mutilation Act,” Taylor said.
The legislation would also bar entry into the United States from those who operated a clinic, hospital, or pharmacy that facilitated “chemical or surgical mutilations” of American citizens. It would also allow for revocations of current visas granted to pro-trans doctors and WPATH members. 
WPATH has long <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/leading-transgender-health-association-releases-new-guidelines">faced criticism</a> over its Standards of Care policies, which have no minimum age recommendations for minors to obtain puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, or surgeries like removing the breasts of girls who identify as boys. The standards also suggest that males under the age of 18 can have vaginoplasties, a procedure where a fake vagina is made using genital tissue.

The bill would also create a reporting mechanism that allows people to report doctors or others who have facilitated these treatments, to aid the State Department in carrying out the ban. An exemption from visa restrictions would exist for whistleblowers who have spoken out against transgender procedures. 
If the bill becomes law, Secretary of State Marco Rubio would be required to produce a report detailing the actions being taken to enforce it and the number of doctors barred from entry under the act.
The legislation is backed by the American Principles Project, a conservative organization that fights for traditional American values. 
“Voters gave Republicans a mandate to fix the Democrats’ immigration mess and root out evil from our health care system,” American Principles Project President Terry Schilling told The Daily Wire. “The Protecting Children from Foreign Mutilation Act does both,” Schilling said. “American families deserve the very best care delivered by ethical doctors, not glorified butchers bearing dubious diplomas.”

Rapper Nicki Minaj took a social media sledgehammer to Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) on Friday, mocking him and warning him against entering the 2028 presidential race.

Florida took legal action on Tuesday against a trio of medical organizations that promote transgender procedures on children, The Daily Wire has learned. 
Republican Attorney General James Uthmeier filed a suit against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics over their support of transgender procedures on kids. The suit accuses the organizations of pushing irreversible medical procedures on gender-confused children for financial benefit. 
“For years, these groups insisted the recommendations were settled science, but behind closed doors, they knew the evidence was weak,” Uthmeier said in a video shared with The Daily Wire. “They knew the outcomes [were] uncertain, and the risks very real. Parents were not told the full story. In fact, some parents were told that if they didn’t put their kids through permanent, life-altering, sick procedures, like double mastectomies and castration, their child would commit suicide. Not only is that unethical and dangerous medicine, but it is against the law.”
Uthmeier added that “truth was replaced with political activism.”

The suit was filed in the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Saint Lucie County, Florida. It accuses the organizations of violating Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act and engaging in racketeering by misleading “patients, parents, insurers, regulators, and courts about the reversibility and efficacy of pediatric sex interventions.”
The organizations’ “immoral actions capitalize on the mental distress of children — as well as the natural affections and fears [of] their parents — to help their members sell lucrative surgeries and drugs that irreversibly mutilate and chemically alter children’s bodies without providing any credible medical benefit,” a copy of the 75-page lawsuit obtained by The Daily Wire states.
The suit lays out a comprehensive history of the development of transgender procedures and how each organization has pushed guidelines that endorsed procedures like puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries that remove the breasts of girls who identify as boys. 
“Defendants have a problem: there is no credible evidence that sex interventions alleviate pediatric gender dysphoria. To convince patients, insurance companies, regulators, and judges otherwise, Defendants initiated a coordinated campaign to develop ‘clinical guidelines’ recommending sex intervention for pediatric gender dysphoria,” the suit reads. 
Uthmeier wants the court to rule that the organizations’ promotion of transgender procedures constitutes unfair trade practices, impose a civil penalty of $1 million against each defendant, block the organizations from advertising the procedures as safe and reversible, and impose a $10,000 penalty for each time a false claim about the safety of transgender procedures was made. 
“Defendants have disseminated multiple misleading advertisements with the same or similar intent (to legitimize and promote sex interventions as treatment for pediatric gender dysphoria), results (the purchase of pediatric sex interventions), accomplices (co-Defendants), victims (minors experiencing gender dysphoria and those paying for their care, such as parents, legal guardians, employers, and insurers), and methods of commission (through representations on their websites and publications),” the suit continues. 
Groups such as the American Parents Coalition, Consumers’ Research, and Do No Harm all praised Uthmeier’s actions. 
“The years-long coordinated campaign by WPATH and other medical organizations to disregard the serious health risks of sex change interventions on minors will go down as the most egregious medical scandal in modern history,” Do No Harm medical director Kurt Miceli told The Daily Wire. “These groups have obfuscated risk and misrepresented the low quality of evidence to support puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, and surgeries for children — interventions that can cause lasting harm.”

As a lawyer who represents detransitioners like Chloe Cole in medical malpractice cases and parents fighting for the right to notice and consent before public schools may socially transition their children, I am all too familiar with how bad science gets laundered in pediatric gender medicine. For the record, a detransitioner is an individual who medically transitioned but now identifies and presents as their natal sex.
Activists take over medical associations (most notably, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health or WPATH) and use the imprimatur of those organizations to justify providing children with puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and even irreversible surgeries. The unreliability of much of the medical literature on pediatric gender medicine makes the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ recent report, <a href="https://opa.hhs.gov/gender-dysphoria-report">Treatment for Pediatric Gender Dysphoria: Review of Evidence and Best Practices</a>, a necessary development in the field. 
Here are ten key takeaways from the review.

<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Children who receive puberty blockers to keep them in a pre-pubescent state longer have marked deterioration of bone health. One-third of patients’ bone density scores exhibit osteoporosis of the hip, while one-fourth have osteoporosis of the spine. </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A scientific review shows that the effect of puberty blockers on neurocognitive development is unknown, but there is “some evidence” that puberty blockers suppress children’s IQ scores. </li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Females who receive testosterone experience vaginal atrophy and other concerning medical symptoms, including one study showing “100% of vaginectomy specimens contained abnormal prostatic tissue growth.”</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">There is moderate and high certainty evidence of some incidence of “cardiovascular events” in women under twenty-six who received testosterone.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">If a male starts puberty blockers at Tanner Stage 2 (the initial stage of puberty) and goes on to take estrogen, he will almost always have the genitalia of a pre-pubescent or early puberty male.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A Swedish study from 2011 found that adults who had medically and surgically transitioned had 19 times the rate of suicide deaths and nearly three times the rate of all-cause mortality and inpatient psychiatric care compared to peers of the same sex and age group.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">While the precise detransition rate is not known, a British study revealed that one-fifth of patients stopped hormone treatment within five years and that half experienced detransition or regret.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">American, British, Dutch, and Swedish researchers each examined the mortality rates among trans-identified individuals relative to the general population, and while the rates varied, each study found significant increases in mortality among trans-identifying people, with the Swedish study showing that a transgender individual faced a 2.8 times higher risk of death than their age- and sex-matched peers.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The report concludes that it would be unethical to conduct a study on the effect of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones on fertility because the “mechanism [of how this treatment interferes with fertility] is well-understood” and does not have to be established in a clinical trial.</li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">A 2025 JAMA Pediatrics study showed that between 2018 and 2022, one in one thousand (0.1%) of American seventeen-year-olds received cross-sex hormones. While this may seem like a small percentage, it is, in absolute terms, a large number of children.</li>

The review’s key points put the risks children face when undergoing transgender medical interventions in sharp focus. Do doctors explain to their minor patients that they may experience significant negative health outcomes years or even decades in the future? When children are warned, are they mature enough to appreciate the risk of long-term consequences? Are children asked to consider the possibility that they may not identify as transgender in the future? Are children led to examine how they might feel about the interventions they received if they do indeed detransition? (My work as a lawyer in detransition cases tells me the answer to all these questions is often “no.”)
Debates about pediatric transgender interventions have largely been framed in terms of politics (what are the major parties’ stances?), law (does the Constitution permit states to prohibit transgender interventions for children?), and even philosophy (what is a woman?). But the central question we all should be asking is whether these interventions work. HHS’s exhaustive review of the medical literature makes a compelling case that the medical risk to minors posed by puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries significantly outweighs any benefits these interventions might confer.

Crockett was speaking to a reporter — while standing alongside a drag queen in full costume — and the three of them attempted to spin cosmetic treatments such as Botox or collagen fillers as “gender-affirming care” in order to downplay the invasive and destructive treatments given to trans-identifying patients.

“Okay, a lot of the MAGA women receive gender-affirming care such as lip fillers, breast augmentation, et cetera,” the reporter began, prompting an apparently amused reaction from Crockett. “Why do you think they are so against gender-affirming care for trans people?”
Crockett, her mouth hanging open, stomped her feet several times before the drag queen beside her waved her forward: “You know you want to say it.”
“So I have this thing, where like you know a MAGA woman when you see one,” she said.
“1,000%” the reporter agreed.
“They all have a look, right?” Crockett continued, over comments from the drag queen out of frame. “But they lips be up to — anyway, that’s a whole other issue. But yeah, it&#8217;s — they don&#8217;t even know. &#8216;Cause when that was brought up on the House floor, &#8217;cause there was a discussion about this on the House floor, they were like, &#8216;How dare you say we use —&#8217; and it&#8217;s like, no, that&#8217;s exactly what y&#8217;all do. Crockett, like the reporter and a number of others, has repeatedly conflated surgical enhancements of one’s natural biology with surgeries designed to subvert or outright erase one’s natural biology artificially.

In 10 years, The Daily Wire has put up some incredible wins, and over the next few weeks, we’re looking back at 10 of our greatest victories — none of which could have happened without the support of our loyal members and fans. 
One of our biggest victories occurred over the summer as the Supreme Court issued a landmark ruling upholding a Tennessee law protecting children from surgical and chemical gender mutilation. The ruling allowed states across the country to keep in place laws protecting children from life-altering transgender procedures. 
The Tennessee law at the center of ruling was inspired by an investigation from Daily Wire host Matt Walsh. In September 2022, Walsh released an investigation revealing that the pediatric transgender clinic at Vanderbilt University Medical Center was removing the breasts of girls who identified as boys and prescribing cross-sex hormones to gender-confused children.
“My team and I have been investigating the transgender clinic at Vanderbilt here in Nashville. Vanderbilt drugs, chemically castrates, and performs double mastectomies on minors,” Walsh <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1572313369528635392">reported</a> at the time. “They now castrate, sterilize, and mutilate minors as well as adults, while apparently taking steps to hide this activity from the public view. This is what ‘health care’ has become in modern America.”
In the days following the investigation, Walsh met with top Tennessee lawmakers who vowed to introduce legislation to ban transgender procedures on kids and Tennessee Republican Governor Bill Lee <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/tennessee-looking-at-child-gender-transition-legislation-after-vanderbilt-transgender-videos-released">called</a> for an immediate end to the procedures. 
A month after the investigation broke, Walsh led a rally in Nashville attended by top Tennessee Republicans like Senator Marsha Blackburn and others like Tulsi Gabbard calling for an end to child mutilation. 
Walsh later testified before state lawmakers in favor of the Republican-backed bill to ban transgender procedures on kids in Tennessee. 
“We should be able to agree that it is never OK to chemically castrate, sterilize, butcher, or mutilate a child. And in fact, all decent people do agree on this point,” Walsh said during his testimony. “But many of the people who hold power in this country and who run our institutions — including our medical institutions — do not pass this basic test of decency.” 
After Tennessee’s law was passed in March 2023, over a dozen other states moved to enact similar legislation to protect kids. Tennessee’s law was challenged by leftist activists and the Biden administration, bouncing through the federal court system before the Supreme Court agreed to take it up. Walsh also <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/episode/ep-1498-on-demand">spoke</a> at a rally in front of the Supreme Court in December 2024, continuing to push for an end to transgender procedures on children. 
In June 2025, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in United States v. Skrmetti that states were allowed to protect kids from transgender procedures under the Constitution. 
Walsh said that the decision was a “fatal blow” to transgender ideology. 
“Three years ago, we launched our investigation into Vanderbilt’s child mutilation practices,” he <a href="https://x.com/MattWalshBlog/status/1935345883769430153">said</a>. “We rallied in the state capital. Our lawmakers responded with a law banning child mutilation in the state. Today the Supreme Court upheld our law, which means child mutilation can be banned anywhere and everywhere in the country. And should be. This is a truly historic victory and I’m grateful to be a part of it, along with so many others who have fought relentlessly for years.”
