<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/house-republicans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">House Republicans</a> referred two members of President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Joe Biden</a>&#8216;s family — his son <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a> and brother <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Biden</a> — for criminal prosecution on Wednesday over allegations that they lied while testifying as part of the corruption-focused <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/impeachment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">impeachment</a> inquiry into the commander in chief.
A <a href="https://dw-wp-production.imgix.net/2024/06/Criminal-Referral-6.5.24.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">letter</a> sent to Attorney General <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/merrick-garland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Merrick Garland</a> and special counsel David Weiss recommended that both Biden family members be charged with making false statements and Hunter Biden also get charged with perjury. Hunter Biden and James Biden &#8220;made provably false statements &#8230; about key aspects of the impeachment inquiry, in what appears to be a conscious effort to hinder the investigation’s focus on President Joe Biden,&#8221; wrote Oversight Chairman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/james-comer" target="_blank" rel="noopener">James Comer</a> (R-KY), who was joined by Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO).
Millions of dollars made by Biden family members and their companies have spurred concerns about potential influence-peddling schemes involving Joe Biden dating back to when he served as vice president. As part of the impeachment inquiry, the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees conducted a transcribed interview with James Biden on February 21. Hunter Biden, who like James Biden was subpoenaed to testify, appeared on February 28 for a deposition in which he testified under oath. Both men, who had counsel with them, have denied President Biden benefited from their work.
It remains to be seen whether either Biden gets charged for their testimony. A criminal referral from Congress does not compel federal prosecutors to open a case. After Smith <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/top-house-republican-accuses-hunter-biden-of-lying-to-congress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">publicly accused</a> Hunter Biden of lying to Congress last month, Hunter Biden’s attorney Abbe Lowell responded, &#8220;Here they go again, grasping at straws and twisting Hunter’s testimony to try to revive an impeachment inquiry that was a complete and utter failure.&#8221;
The letter from the impeachment leaders to Department of Justice officials on Wednesday describes three instances, two involving Hunter Biden and one focused on James Biden, in which the lawmakers have centered their claims that the witnesses were less than truthful during their testimony.
&#8220;Specifically, Hunter Biden falsely distanced himself from a corporate entity — Rosemont Seneca Bohai, LLC — and its bank account (Rosemont Seneca Bohai Bank Account) that was the recipient of millions of dollars from foreign individuals and foreign entities who met with then-Vice President Biden before and after transmitting money to the Rosemont Seneca Bohai Bank Account that then transferred funds to Hunter Biden,&#8221; the letter stated.
&#8220;Hunter Biden made additional false statements as to whether he held positions at Rosemont Seneca Bohai, LLC,&#8221; the letter added. &#8220;After deposing Hunter Biden, the Committees obtained documents showing Hunter Biden represented that he was the corporate secretary. Additionally, Hunter Biden during his testimony relayed an entirely fictitious account about threatening text messages he sent to his Chinese business partner while invoking his father’s presence with him as he wrote the messages. Hunter Biden told the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee he had transmitted this threat to an unrelated individual with the same surname. However, documents released by the Committee on Ways and Means demonstrate conclusively that Hunter Biden made this threat to the intended individual, and bank records prove Hunter Biden’s Chinese business partners wired millions of dollars to him after his threat. A portion of the proceeds has been traced to Joe Biden’s bank account.&#8221;
The letter provides an explanation of the alleged false statements by James Biden in relation to his dealings with Tony Bobulinski, who also testified for the impeachment inquiry. Bobulinski made a public hearing appearance in March <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impeachment-witness-tony-bobulinski-claims-hunter-and-james-biden-perjured-themselves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">during which he accused</a> Hunter Biden and James Biden of perjuring themselves. Hunter Biden has said that he did not find Bobulinski to be &#8220;credible.&#8221; Jim Biden said in his interview that he was not “fond” of Bobulinski and responded “yes” when asked if he would describe Bobulinski as a “bully” during an exchange about their ill-fated team-up.

&#8220;With respect to James Biden, he stated unequivocally during his transcribed interview that Joe Biden did not meet with Mr. Tony Bobulinski, a business associate of James and Hunter Biden, in 2017 while pursuing a deal with a Chinese entity, CEFC China Energy,&#8221; said the letter from the impeachment investigators. &#8220;Specifically, James Biden stated he did not attend a meeting with Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and Tony Bobulinski on May 2, 2017 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. These statements were contradicted not only by Mr. Bobulinski, but Hunter Biden. Mr. Bobulinski also produced text messages that establish the events leading up to and immediately following his meeting with Joe Biden on May 2, 2017.&#8221;
Hunter Biden is already facing two criminal cases led by Weiss that could result in prison time. The first son has pleaded not guilty to gun charges in a case set in Delaware and tax charges in California. His gun-related trial <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/president-biden-releases-statement-as-jury-selection-begins-in-hunters-gun-trial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">began this week,</a> while the tax trial in California is set to start in September.
The GOP lawmakers said the DOJ &#8220;should consider Hunter Biden’s prior alleged criminal activity when evaluating whether to charge him for the false statements described in the attached. Because Hunter Biden was federally indicted in two different jurisdictions at the time of his Congressional deposition, he was also subject to two federal court orders stating that he could not commit any crimes while on federal supervised release.&#8221;

Two Democrat impeachment stars lashed out at former Hunter Biden business partner Tony Bobulinski during a Wednesday hearing, interrupting Bobulinski and complaining to the committee chair because he had accused them of lying.
Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), who led the second impeachment against former President Donald Trump — and Dan Goldman (D-NY), who led the first — objected to Bobulinski&#8217;s opening statement, during which he called both of them liars.
Bobulinski – who also claimed during Wednesday&#8217;s hearing that Hunter Biden had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/impeachment-witness-tony-bobulinski-claims-hunter-and-james-biden-perjured-themselves" target="_blank" rel="noopener">perjured himself</a> during his own testimony before Congress — said that Reps. Goldman and Raskin had both lied to protect President Joe Biden and predicted that they would continue to do so after the hearing was over.

&#8220;Am I supposed to say it&#8217;s my time, Mr. Raskin?&#8221; Bobulinski asked, jabbing at the members who had interrupted him with the same line.

Comer apologized for the interruption and told Bobulinski to carry on with his opening statement, but Raskin was not finished.
&#8220;Mr. Chairman, save his time, but he called members of this committee liars,&#8221; Raskin complained. &#8220;And I just want to know whether the order and decorum requirements of House Rule 11 apply to witnesses before the committee. Does it apply or does it not?&#8221;
Comer, after a brief conference off-mic, replied that there were rules of decorum for the committee members but no language he knew of that applied the same rules to witnesses. Raskin did not appear to be thrilled with the ruling, but did not interrupt again.
Goldman also responded to Bobulinski&#8217;s comments, saying, &#8220;We have a very important hearing here, and we don&#8217;t have time for stunts.&#8221;
Later in the hearing, Goldman got into another testy exchange with Bobulinski, asserting that he had been the one who wanted Joe Biden involved and claiming that Hunter Biden had dumped him as a business partner because of that.

A decorated military veteran who was in business with Hunter Biden told Congress that contrary to assertions by Democrats, the work with a Communist Party of China-linked company began while Joe Biden was in power, not immediately after, according to a <a href="https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Bobulinski-Transcript.pdf">transcript</a> of his testimony released Friday.
Tony Bobulinski told members of Congress in the impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden that soon after he became CEO of a venture in early 2017 involving Chinese firm CEFC, Hunter screamed angrily that the firm owed him $20 million for previous work, which would have occurred while Joe Biden was vice president.
Democrats have argued that “work was once Joe Biden was a private citizen,” Bobulinski said, but &#8220;that&#8217;s a lie.”
He said that a third investor, James Gilliar, revealed an arrangement between the Biden family and the Chinese company in a message on December 24, 2015, immediately after he was with Joe Biden at the then-vice president’s Christmas party. &#8220;There will be a deal between one of the most prominent families from US and them constructed by me [sic], I think this will then be a great addition to their portfolios,” the message said.
Bobulinski said he immediately knew which family Gilliar was talking about because Gilliar was “in D.C. to attend the Vice President&#8217;s Christmas party in December 2015. So I could just generally put the pieces of the puzzle together, and I was operating under the impression that he was talking about the Biden family.”
Emails show that Gilliar floated a 20% stake for Hunter, 10% for Joe Biden’s brother Jim, and 10% “held by H for the big guy,” referring to Joe. When the deal was finalized, Jim’s portion had risen to 20%, with no mention of Joe. It made little sense for Jim to be receiving such a large cut of what was expected to be a multi-billion dollar business given that Bobulinski was doing all the work, he said.
The Chinese were to provide $10 million in start-up cash used to hire bankers who would then identify investment opportunities to make money, he said. But Hunter viewed the start-up cash as a “piggy bank” to immediately take out of for himself.
He said that Gilliar and the Bidens were secretive about their history with CEFC, but it soon became clear that it did not begin with Bobulinski’s involvement in 2017 when they began arguing about a $20 million that was owed to them, a sum that could not be related to the 2017 $10 million deal.
“Hunter and I were directly across from Director Zang and Zhao, and Hunter starts — I don&#8217;t mean just raising his voice — just yelling at Director Zang, ‘you owe my family money. Why haven&#8217;t you paid the $20 million we&#8217;ve discussed? When is it coming?’” Bobulinski testified under oath. “What&#8217;s he talking about when he says ‘we have been shorted’? He&#8217;s talking about the fact that they were expected to get paid $20 million by CEFC for the work they had done previously … this started back in 2015. Numerous people — Rob Walker stated it himself,” he said, referring to a fourth investor.
Messages also showed that their Chinese business partner would meet with Vladimir Putin if he could get approval from Chinese President Xi. Gilliar wrote in a message that Hunter was only useful for his last name and the signal it sent to the Chinese, saying “in brand he&#8217;s imperative, but right now he&#8217;s not essential for adding input to business.”
Bobulinski and Hunter met with Joe Biden in a meeting that had no reason to occur if it was not about the CEFC work, Bobulinski testified. Hunter said “‘Hey, Dad, you know, this is Tony, who I, you know, told you about, just told you about, and helping us with, you know, the business we&#8217;re working on with the Chinese,’&#8221; he said.
A dispute occurred when the Bidens wanted equal voting shares that would allow them to override Bobulinski, while Bobulinski thought as CEO he should have more weight. Hunter messaged that his father had blocked the idea of diluting the Bidens’ voting shares, saying “my chairman gave an emphatic no.”
Joe Biden also met with CEFC chairman Ye Jianming, and joined numerous business calls. Bobunksi said that although they did not discuss business in detail, in the world of high finance, such displays of power are part and parcel of business development, with top operators routinely shaking hands at a meeting and then leaving, with their appearance serving to show that the lower-level operators have the backing of the powerful person.
The Bidens later cut Bobulinski out of the deal by copying documents he had made and creating a side deal, which entailed submitting fraudulent documents to a bank, Bobulinski said.
Hunter “took proprietary information from Oneida Holdings and SinoHawk and stole that information and reproduced it. So they took the SinoHawk holding — it&#8217;s called fraud — same exact serial numbers in the lower left-hand corner. That should put every lawyer&#8217;s mouth on the floor that&#8217;s in here,” Bobulinski said.
Around that time, Hunter told the Chinese that Joe Biden was demanding that the Chinese pay Hunter directly. “I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled,” he wrote. “I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”
Bobulinski said that as Donald Trump was impeached for exploring whether Joe Biden was involved in unsavory international deals, and Joe Biden angrily said he never discussed business with his son, Bobulinski, a former naval officer with the highest security clearance, wondered with the other business partners whether they had a duty to set the record straight.
A diplomat named Lincoln Bloomfield, who served as Assistant Secretary of State under George W. Bush, was dispatched to convince the partners to stay quiet before the election, Bobulinski alleged for the first time. “James and Rob Walker introduced him to me in October 2020, with the interest of him sort of coaching me and the other parties involved through not coming forward and what it would mean.”
Bloomfield plays in a band with now-Secretary of State Tony Blinken, and immediately after his alleged effort, a letter from 51 intelligence operatives appeared relying on their credentials to suggest, falsely, that any discussion of Hunter’s business dealings was Russian information, he said.
“That letter wasn&#8217;t instigated because of the laptop. That letter was instigated because they knew that I was coming out public on Monday, because I had that discussion with Rob Walker,” he said.
Bloomfield did not return a request for comment.
Bobulinski said before the election, he told his story in the Wall Street Journal, but the article quoted Gilliar saying, “I would like to clear up any speculation that former Vice President Biden was involved with the 2017 discussions about our potential business structure. I am unaware of any involvement at anytime of the former Vice President.” Bobulinski said, however, that he &#8220;had numerous discussions with him, and they were of the impression that Joe Biden was going to win the election. And they were concerned that, if the truth came out about this, that it could alter the election. And I believe it did.”
Walker testified to Congress in January that no one responded to the “10% held by H for the big guy” email, but Bobulinski said “Hunter responded to it numerous times. He was aware of the contents. He was arguing over the contents of the email, and not once did anybody else that was on the email chain go, guys, &#8220;Who is the &#8216;big guy&#8217; that we&#8217;re talking about?&#8221;
Walker also testified that he did not know who the “big guy” was and that Joe Biden was not involved, even though messages show Walker writing that when Hunter “said his chairman he was talking about his dad and I think your dismissal of it maybe offended him a bit, but you didn&#8217;t know what he was talking about.&#8221;
Walker told the congressmen he was just trying to diffuse tension and that they would need to ask Gilliar who the big guy was.
Bobulinski said “I met Joe Biden face-to-face. These guys were talking about having Joe Biden come to New York and sit face-to-face with Chairman Ye while we were formalizing this deal. And for every one of these guys to now have amnesia or, like, you know, claim that, ‘Oh, Hunter wasn&#8217;t really talking about his father,’ is just absurd. The American people deserve the truth.”
Bobulinski also said he met with Gabriel Popoviciu, an oligarch accused of corruption in Romania, who had been paying Walker and Gilliar while Joe Biden was tasked with dealing with Romanian corruption as part of his vice president portfolio. “When I met with Gabriel Popoviciu, he was very vocal about the fact that he had stopped paying Robinson Walker when Joe Biden left the White House, and the reason why he had stopped paying them &#8212; and the reason was because he viewed that he no longer had the power or the leverage of the Biden family to &#8212; for what he was dealing with in Romania. And he actually asked me, did I know any &#8212; did I have any insight on how he potentially could get relationships at the Trump side of the ledger,” Bobulinski said. He said that Gilliar told him that the contract with Popovicio “outlined that, if, in fact, they were successful in getting Gabriel off in Romania, that they stood to make potentially millions or tens of millions of dollars.” 
During the testimony, Democrats focused on attempting to discredit Bobulinski for allegedly cooperating with Republicans to get his story out. But Bobulinski, who previously donated to Democrats and did highly technical work for the Navy Nuclear Power Training Command, said he was looking for any outlet with a wide audience to tell a story that was otherwise being suppressed.
When Bobulinski mentioned that he had evidence including recorded calls, Democrats asked where he recorded them, seemingly in an attempt to get him to admit whether he broke the law by recording in a state where that is illegal. (He said he was in a state where it was legal.)
Rep. James Comer, the Republican chairman of the Oversight Committee, apologized to Bobulinski.
“I&#8217;ve never seen that display of pathetic behavior in a deposition before,&#8221; Comer said. &#8220;I apologize for their behavior.”

Two House committees received testimony from Bobulinski, a Navy veteran who <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/hunter-biden-laptop-whistleblower-tells-tucker-carlson-fbi-ghosted-him-before-2020-election" target="_blank" rel="noopener">came forward with evidence</a> about alleged Biden family corruption just two weeks before the 2020 presidential election, as one of many witnesses in an ongoing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/impeachment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">impeachment</a> investigation.
The Biden family&#8217;s &#8220;foreign influence peddling operation – from China to Ukraine and elsewhere – sold out to foreign actors who were seeking to gain influence and access to Joe Biden and the United States government,&#8221; Bobulinski said in his <a href="https://twitter.com/bennyjohnson/status/1757431835896758298" target="_blank" rel="noopener">opening statement</a>.
&#8220;Joe Biden was more than a participant in and beneficiary of his family’s business; he was an enabler, despite being buffered by a complex scheme to maintain plausible deniability,&#8221; he added.
Bobulinski also said, &#8220;The only reason any of these international business transactions took place – with tens of millions of dollars flowing directly to the Biden family – was because Joe Biden was in high office. The Biden family business was Joe Biden, period.&#8221;
In his opening statement, Bobulinski detailed other foreign business dealings that allegedly involved the Biden family, and he said he met Joe Biden in 2017 to discuss deals, claimed he was defrauded by the Biden family, and suggested that law enforcement has been &#8220;singularly unwilling&#8221; to speak with him.
As Bobulinski&#8217;s appearance before the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees behind closed doors broke for lunch, lawmakers on both sides of the aisle shared diverging opinions about his testimony and level of credibility.
&#8220;Bobulinski seems to be the one man Democrats are most afraid of,&#8221; Rep. A former business associate of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hunter-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hunter Biden</a> reportedly offered to testify in front of a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/delaware" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Delaware</a> grand jury, but never received an invitation.
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/tony-bobulinski" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Tony Bobulinski</a>, who worked with Biden on a 2017 deal with the Chinese energy company CEFC, sent an offer to testify to the U.S. attorney in Delaware David Weiss but never received a response, according to <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/hunter-biden-tony-bobulinski-former-business-partner-grand-jury/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CBS News</a>. Bobulinski has asserted publicly that Biden engaged in influence peddling with his father, the sitting president of the United States, to score hefty payouts from foreign agents.
“I’ve heard Joe Biden say that he&#8217;s never discussed business with Hunter. That is false. I have firsthand knowledge about this because I directly dealt with the Biden family, including Joe Biden,” Bobulinski said in a press conference in 2020.
Whistleblowers have alleged that the Department of Justice interfered with the investigation into Hunter Biden to close off avenues that could implicate his father, the president of the United States. Bobulinski’s reported failure to testify to the grand jury raises further questions about the extent of alleged DOJ intrusion into the Biden investigation.
Not appearing before the grand jury does not mean his statements and evidence were not presented to the grand jury, however, <a href="https://twitter.com/shipwreckedcrew/status/1674521419529752576" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to</a> former federal prosecutor Bill Shipley.
In addition to asserting DOJ interference, whistleblowers with the IRS team investigating Biden’s tax affairs turned over a 2017 WhatsApp message that allegedly shows Biden attempting to intimidate a CEFC executive with his father’s approval.
“I am sitting here with my father and we would like to understand why the commitment made has not been fulfilled. Tell the director that I would like to resolve this now before it gets out of hand, and now means tonight,” Biden allegedly wrote to CEFC executive Henry Zhao. “And, Z, if I get a call or text from anyone involved in this other than you, Zhang, or the chairman, I will make certain that between the man sitting next to me and every person he knows and my ability to forever hold a grudge that you will regret not following my direction. I am sitting here waiting for the call with my father.”

Within days of sending the message, accounts associated with CEFC wired around $5 million to accounts associated with Biden.
Whistleblowers have alleged that the Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland denied Weiss’s requests to bring charges against Biden in Washington, D.C., and California. Garland also allegedly denied a request to give Weiss special counsel status.
Garland has flatly denied all whistleblower claims. The New York Times has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/new-york-times-buries-the-lede-confirms-hunter-biden-probe-whistleblower-claims" target="_blank" rel="noopener">confirmed</a> at least one of the claims, however. The paper reported the top federal prosecutor in Washington blocked an attempt by Weiss to bring charges against Biden last year.
President Joe Biden has repeatedly <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-biden-doubles-down-on-campaign-claim-he-never-spoke-with-hunter-about-business-deals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">asserted</a> he knew nothing about his son’s business dealings. The president rejected suggestions that he ever spoke with his son about those business affairs during the 2020 campaign, and reasserted that claim recently when questioned about the WhatsApp revelation.
“How involved were you in your son’s Chinese shake-down text message? Were you sitting there? Were you involved?” a reporter asked the president on Wednesday.
Biden responded: “No, I wasn’t.”
A statement offered by the White House counsel’s office last week hedged the president’s role in relation to his son’s business dealings. The statement did not assert that the president never spoke with his son about those dealings.

Tony Bobulinski, a former Hunter Biden pal and business associate who came forward with damning evidence about alleged Biden family corruption just two weeks before the 2020 presidential election, told the Fox News host that Timothy Thibault never followed up with him despite promising to.
“Tim Thibault, in his last discussion with my legal counsel, said, ‘Listen, we know Tony’s cooperating. We appreciate all the information he’s provided. We will follow up with you. We are definitely going to have him come in for a follow-up interview, or spend some more time on this,’” Bobulinski told Carlson. “And I haven’t heard from him since. Nor have my lawyers.”
“That’s shocking,” an incredulous Carlson replied.

The interview corroborated a recent report from <a href="https://nypost.com/2022/09/04/fbi-agent-timothy-thibault-hid-intel-from-whistleblower-on-hunter-the-big-guy-joe-biden/">New York Post columnist Miranda Devine</a> about Thibault’s extraordinary alleged efforts to shut down the probe, which may have changed the election outcome. Timothy Thibault, who left the bureau in August under mysterious circumstances, was the key to burying evidence contained on the laptop, wrote Devine, author of “<a href="https://www.amazon.com/Laptop-Hell-Hunter-Secrets-President/dp/163758105X">Laptop From Hell</a>.”
Bobulinski’s “evidence appears to have fallen into the same black hole at the FBI as Hunter’s laptop, never to be seen again,” Devine wrote.
The computer, which Hunter Biden abandoned at a Wilmington, Delaware, computer repair shop, is believed to have been in the possession of the FBI since late 2019, more than a year before the election. Photos, videos, emails, and text messages on the device, which were also ignored by legacy news outlets, paint the president’s son as a drug-addled, venal degenerate and raise troubling questions about <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/joe-biden-spoke-with-hunter-about-dealings-with-chinese-oil-tycoon-voicemail-reveals">President Joe Biden’s own role in his son’s corrupt dealings</a>.
&#8220;There are hundreds of data points that Joe Biden was acting in – in a capitalistic term, I would say the chairman,&#8221; Bobulinski told Carlson.
Thibault was the Washington Field Office’s point man to manage Bobulinski, according to Devine. Bobulinski was interviewed by the FBI for more than five hours on October 23, 2020, and told agents what he knew about then-presidential candidate Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s shady international business deals. The interview came a day after Bobulinski named Joe Biden as “the Big Guy” Hunter Biden referenced in an email as being due 10% of the proceeds of a payout from Chinese energy firm CEFC.
Bobulinski turned over to the FBI the contents of three cellphones containing encrypted messages between Hunter and his business partners, along with emails and financial documents detailing alleged Biden family corruption during Joe Biden’s two terms as vice president, according to Devine.
Bobulinski told FBI agents all about the deal with CEFC, the Beijing-controlled company charged with expanding China’s energy influence into Russia, Oman, Romania, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and beyond, Devine reported. CEFC chairman Ye Jianming was arrested by Chinese authorities in 2018 after his $9 billion acquisition of Russian oil giant Rosneft fell through.
Bobulinski, a decorated former Naval officer with top secret security clearances from the National Security Agency and the Department of Energy, also reportedly detailed Hunter Biden’s dealings with Mykola Zlochevsky, owner of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, and with retired FBI director Louis Freeh.
After the interview, Bobulinski and his lawyer were given Thibault’s cellphone number and told he would advise them on the next steps. But, Bobulinski told Carlson, neither he nor his lawyer was ever contacted by Thibault, and Bobulinski was never brought in to testify before a Delaware grand jury investigating Hunter Biden.
Thibault retired amid an investigation by Special Counsel John Durham into his anti-Trump activities. Republican senators Chuck Grassley and Ron Johnson have publicly accused Thibault of interfering in the Hunter Biden probe, and say they have more than a dozen whistleblowers who have told them FBI officials barred them from investigating damning evidence on the laptop.
“In October 2020, an avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed at the direction of ASAC Thibault,” Grassley wrote in a July letter to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/former-fbi-agent-some-fbi-agents-want-director-wray-to-resign">FBI Director Christopher Wray</a> and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
A <a href="https://tippinsights.com/shock-poll-8-in-10-think-biden-laptop-cover-up-changed-election/">recent poll by Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics</a> suggested that 79% of Americans believe President Trump likely would have won re-election if voters had known about the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop and that it was authentic.
A lawyer for Thibault denied Grassley’s allegations, saying the former agent “did not supervise the investigation of Hunter Biden.”
“In particular, Mr. Thibault was not involved in any decisions related to any laptop that may be at issue in that investigation and he did not seek to close the investigation.”

Biden — of course — has been accused of numerous scandals throughout his decades in public office that could rise to the level of abuse of power.

Hunter&#8217;s former business associate has also alleged that Hunter would set aside certain amounts of money for his father from dealings he made by using the Biden name and connections to his dad.
In 2020, The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harris-gov-cuomo-other-top-democrats-listed-as-key-domestic-contacts-in-alleged-hunter-biden-email-exchange">reported</a> that Tony Bobulinski gave a statement to the New York Post &#8220;testifying to the veracity of one email exchange from Hunter’s alleged laptop outlining a plan to split the equity in a new business venture&#8221; with a former executive at a Chinese energy company. The email showed “H,” a reference to Hunter, getting 20%, and holding 10% for “the big guy,” who Bobulinski identified as Joe Biden.
&#8220;What I am outlining is fact,&#8221; Bobulinski said in 2020. &#8220;I know it is fact because I lived it. I am the CEO of Sinohawk Holdings, which was a partnership between the Chinese operating through CEFC/Chairman Ye and the Biden family. I was brought into the company to be the CEO by James Gilliar and Hunter Biden. The reference to &#8216;the Big Guy’ in the much publicized May 13, 2017 email is in fact a reference to Joe Biden. The other ‘JB’ referenced in that email is Jim Biden, Joe’s brother.&#8221;
This is not the first time that Biden has opined about &#8220;abuse of power.&#8221; After leaving the vice presidency, Biden <a href="https://www.oprah.com/own-super-soul-sunday/former-vice-president-joe-biden-on-why-people-abuse-power">told</a> Oprah that he believes people abuse power because they &#8220;are seduced by the notion that they are so self-important, that they really matter. In fact, it is not usually the case.&#8221;
If the reports about Hunter and his dad are true, Biden&#8217;s comments to Oprah should serve as a pretty sharp rebuke of both men&#8217;s moral characters and public integrity.

Later in the show, Carlson <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-confidential-documents-obtained-by-tucker-carlson-on-biden-family-go-missing-report">revealed</a> that confidential documents that his show received about the Biden family allegedly went missing after someone at the network attempted to mail the documents to Carlson across the country and the package appears to have been opened at some point after it was sent.
“Tuesday morning, we received word from the shipping company that our package had been opened and the contents were missing. The documents had disappeared,” Carlson said. “Now, to it’s credit, the company took this very seriously and immediately began a search. They traced the envelope from the moment our producers dropped it off in Manhattan on Monday all the way to 3:44 a.m. yesterday morning. That’s when an employee at a sorting facility in another state noticed that our package was opened and empty, apparently had been opened.”
“So the company’s security team interviewed everyone of its employees who touched the envelope we sent, they searched the plane and the trucks that carried it. They went through the office in New York where our producer dropped that package off. They combed the entire cavernous sorting facility. They used pictures of what we had sent so that searchers would know what to look for, they went far and beyond, but they found nothing.”
“Those documents have vanished, as of tonight, the company has no idea, and no working theory even, about what happened to this trove of materials, documents that are directly relevant to the presidential campaign just six days from now,” Carlson concluded. “We spoke to executives at that company a few hours, they seemed baffled and deeply bothered by this, and so are we.”

Tony Bobulinski, a whistleblower who was a former business partner of Hunter Biden, told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday night that he believes that the Biden family, including Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, is compromised by China.
&#8220;What are the implications of this going forward?&#8221; Carlson asked. &#8220;If Joe Biden is elected president, which could very well happen, how does this constrain his ability to deal with China?&#8221;
&#8220;Are you asking for my personal opinion?&#8221; Bobulinski asked.
&#8220;I am,&#8221; Carlson responded. &#8220;I’m asking for your opinion, as someone who’s worked with the Chinese.&#8221;
&#8220;So, I think Joe Biden and the Biden family are compromised,&#8221; Bobulinski responded. &#8220;Obviously, I’d reference that I held a Q clearance, you’re briefed on compromise and who you’re able to talk with and deal and do business with.&#8221;

TONY BOBULINSKI, HUNTER BIDEN FORMER BUSINESS PARTNER: Correct.
CARLSON: Where did it go?
BOBULINSKI: So documents were all executed even after this back and forth. And Chinese CEFC Director Zang, who’s number three of the company worked directly for Chairman Ye, and the way it was presented to me as a very senior Chinese Communist Party member, was assuring me that $10 million was being sent to our bank account that was set up at JPMorgan Chase to basically fund operations and grow the business.
And that, of that $10 million, we were capitalizing the business. So $5 million of that $10 million was being loaned to Oneida Holdings as a non-recourse loan from CEFC, and the other $5 million was coming as CEFC as their capitalization of the business because we owned 50/50 in the partnership.
The Chinese and CEFC never viewed me – I’m insignificant and irrelevant in this discussion. To them it was always the Biden family. It wasn’t Hunter Biden, it wasn’t Jim Biden, it was the Biden family who’s obviously led and operated by Joe Biden.
And in a document that you guys have, and I think it’s been provided to the world, the Chinese reference that, because of their trust in the Biden family that Chairman Ye and Director Zang are excited about moving forward in this. And in that document, they reference loaning $5 million to the BD family.
CARLSON: Right.
BOBULINSKI: The BD family is the Biden family. And notice they didn’t say we’re loaning that money to Oneida Holdings or we’re loaning that money to Tony Bobulinski or we’re loaning that money to James Gilliar or Rob Walker. They, once again, not a document generated by me, a document generated by CEFC, that they’re loaning that money to the Biden family.
CARLSON: What are the implications of this going forward? If Joe Biden is elected president, which could very well happen, how does this constrain his ability to deal with China?
BOBULINSKI: Are you asking for my personal opinion?
CARLSON: I am. I’m asking for your opinion, as someone who’s worked with the Chinese.
BOBULINSKI: So, I think Joe Biden and the Biden family are compromised. Obviously, I’d reference that I held a Q clearance, you’re briefed on compromise and who you’re able to talk with and deal and do business with.
And I just don’t see, given the history here and the facts, how Joe can’t be influenced in some manner based on the history that they have here with CEFC and stuff like that. So as a citizen and an American taxpayer, I&#8217;m very, very concerned.
CARLSON: It seems at this point that there is so much documentation &#8212; and again, we have your documents, the one you retain, the texts and e-mails, and the legal documents.
But presumably, there are many others, because there are a lot of other people involved in this. Is it possible that this stuff just disappears and nobody covers it for the next four years if Biden is elected? I mean, it seems like there&#8217;s a lot of evidence out there.
BOBULINSKI: I think the American people should be demanding that this is investigated and I don’t know what the right party to do that is. Is that the DOJ, is that the FBI, is that Congress, is that the Senate? But there absolutely should be no scenario that this isn&#8217;t investigated.
And as you’ve said, I probably have purview into 10 percent, just picking a round number, of what was actually going on, and I would encourage the American people to go online and download Senator Johnson&#8217;s 87-page report after watching this, and read pages 65-87 and form your own conclusion.
What I&#8217;ve come forward with is a piece in that puzzle that Senator Johnson and Senator Grassley did not have. They didn’t have it because I hadn’t gone on record, and all this information and documentation was kept very, very tight.
You asked me if the information disappeared. I would expect that other parties have probably destroyed or gotten rid of information. I didn’t. I have every email, every text, every WhatsApp that was exchanged, and I&#8217;ve provided that to the authorities and here I am discussing it.
CARLSON: So you learned from the Senate report that the Chinese sent a great deal of money, but it didn’t go where it was supposed to go, correct?
BOBULINSKI: Yes, that&#8217;s correct. So take the American people back to July of 2017. I was being told by Director Zang, who&#8217;s a senior executive at CEFC, that the $10 million was going to be funded in two tranches of $5 million and $5 million.
Once again, the way they were approaching that is $5 million was a loan to the Biden family, and $5 million was their contribution to capitalize Sinohawk Holdings.
That money didn’t come in June, it didn’t come in July, and I was in Europe traveling with friends and family, and I was frustrated because culturally there’s a tendency that, hey, it&#8217;s coming, it&#8217;s coming, and it wasn’t coming. So I was very frustrated.
But also in July, 2017, something that happened is, over July 4th weekend while we were celebrating our Independence Day, President Xi was in Moscow meeting Vladimir Putin on an official visit.
And in that meeting, and in that multiple days, Director Zang was in Moscow participating in that. And Rosneft or media in Russia had leaked to the press that they were entertaining selling 14 percent of Rosneft, which is the state-owned, U.S. sanctioned energy company in Russia to CEFC.
When I saw that leaked, you can imagine, once again, the clearance I held, the military background, I sort of pushed away from the table like, whoa, that&#8217;s &#8212; this is stair-stepping things at a level that, do I even want to be associated with or do I even want to be near?
Shortly after that information got out, I was told that Director Zang&#8217;s visa was denied. He could no longer get back into the U.S. for meetings or to, you know, bring his wife and his kids to go to school in New York and that it was denied multiple times.
Jim Biden confirms that in text. James Gilliar references it. Kevin, &#8212; Dongwen Wen (ph), who&#8217;s the individual that&#8217;s referenced in Senator Johnson&#8217;s Senate report, he went by Kevin &#8212; his legal name is Gongwen Dong (ph), sorry.
And so I was sort of walking on eggshells. You know, what&#8217;s going on? You&#8217;re saying this money is going to be funded. It hasn&#8217;t come in yet. I&#8217;m sort of near the end of my rope here.
And then in September &#8212; easily validated &#8212; it&#8217;s officially announced that CEFC is &#8212; is buying 14 percent of Rosneft, once again, the state-owned energy company.
And so, at that point, I just sort of push away from the table. The money hadn&#8217;t been funded into &#8212; into Sinohawk. And I was having daily discussions with James Gilliar. You know, what&#8217;s going on here? You know, the Biden name, Russia, China, do &#8212; you know, I don&#8217;t want to be anywhere near this. I&#8217;ve got to understand all the moving pieces.
And so we went into the fall of 2017 &#8212; very well documented &#8212; when Patrick Ho, who&#8217;s an employee or an associate of CEFC, landed in New York he was detained by the U.S. government and put in jail for corruption &#8211;apparently for leaving shoeboxes of cash to two African presidents.
And it started this downhill spiral of CEFC as a company. Remember, President Xi was traveling around the world under the One Belt One Road. That was their political approach, and CEFC was the capitalistic side of the Chinese government, doing things that they could do on the capitalist side that the government couldn&#8217;t get done.
It&#8217;s very well documented &#8212; the work that CEFC did in the Middle East, in Czechoslovakia, and Romania, Kazakhstan, in Georgia, all over the world.
When they announced that &#8212; that they were officially tendering for 14 percent of Rosneft, a deal valued at $9 billion, I sort of pushed away from the table. Like, OK, obviously that&#8217;s taking priority over this discussion and I just, sort of &#8212; you know, was watching things play out once they detained Patrick Ho.
I did reach out to Hunter Biden in October of 2017 asking him, hey, listen, they haven&#8217;t funded the $10 million, have you done something that I&#8217;m not aware of? Have you gone around us? Have you started a parallel discussion with Chairman Ye that I should be conscious of?
And in a variety of text messages that you&#8217;ve been provided, and I think the American people have been provided, he says, no, I didn&#8217;t go around you. But oh, by the way, I&#8217;m acting as the personal attorney to Chairman Ye.
Now, imagine being in my shoes, looking at my phone, reading this text message from Hunter Biden. I just spent six months all out-of-pocket myself, nobody was paying me. I was paying for my own travel, my own meals, my own cars, anything that was needed.
And Hunter Biden is now telling me that he&#8217;s meeting personally one on one with Chairman Ye in his $50 million penthouse in New York. And if he can&#8217;t meet him, he&#8217;s picking up the phone and calling him. But they only discuss things in-person.
You can imagine my anger and frustration there. Because then I&#8217;m like, oh, this has gotten slippery. You have gone around me. What&#8217;s going on here? And oh, by the way, Hunter, you&#8217;re acting as the personal attorney to Chairman Ye while they&#8217;re tendering for 14 percent of the Russian state-owned energy company, a deal valued at $9 billion, what am I missing here?
And he sort of just plays it off. And he said, I&#8217;m working on a bunch of other personal things and visas. And stuff like that, but doesn&#8217;t go into a lot of detail.
I&#8217;d love for you to ask him that. I&#8217;d love the American people to ask what those other special things were.</blockquote>

&#8220;The Biden family knew that you were going public with this,&#8221; Fox News host Tucker Carlson said. &#8220;And you spoke to Rob Walker about it – again, the self-described Biden family representative – and Biden family, meaning Joe Biden as well. What was his response when you let him know that you were going public with this?&#8221;
&#8220;Trying to coach me,&#8221; Bobulinski responded. &#8220;Trying to sort of say, hey, we don’t want to do that, we don’t want press trucks out in front of our house. Tony Bobulinski, a whistleblower who was a former business partner of Hunter Biden, told Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Tuesday that Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden gave his son, Hunter Biden, an &#8220;emphatic no&#8221; to &#8220;putting proper governance in place&#8221; for business with Hunter Biden.
&#8220;This is a small point, but I can’t get over it,&#8221; Carlson said. &#8220;So you saw a number of reporters say, again, in an effort to bat away your story, your testimony on this, that the chairman referred to in a bunch of these e-mails, was not Joe Biden. It was, in fact, the government of China. When you see people refer to &#8216;the chairman thinks this, the chairman thinks that,&#8217; they’re talking about China, and not Joe Biden.&#8221;
Carlson then showed the text message that Bobulinski received from Hunter Biden, which stated:

Earlier in the interview, Bobulinski explained that &#8220;in Oneida Holdings, LLC, the equity is broken up 20% Hunter Biden, 20% Jim Biden.&#8221;

Bobulinski says that he met with Joe Biden at a conference and that he met afterward with Jim Biden for two hours at the Peninsula Hotel, where Jim Biden &#8220;walked through his history, in his own words, stating with all the work and effort he did to get Joe Biden elected initially in Delaware and then through the family history and the role that he had played in it.&#8221;
Bobulinski said that he was skeptical of what was going on because of his high-level security clearance as a military official and his knowledge about needing to report gifts.
&#8220;And I&#8217;m thinking about the Biden family, like, how are they doing this? I know Joe decided not to run in 2016, but what if he ran in the future? CARLSON: So he said—this is a man who has been drafting off his brother&#8217;s political career for almost 50 years—he said to your face essentially, we&#8217;re lying about it?
BOBULINSKI: Anyone watching this interview can look up what plausible deniability means—
