President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview published on Wednesday that Democrats lost the 2024 election because they did not understand common sense things that people do not want to see in their lives.
Trump made the remarks during a <a href="https://time.com/7201565/person-of-the-year-2024-donald-trump-transcript/">lengthy interview</a> with TIME that was published when the magazine <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-named-times-2024-person-of-the-year">announced</a> that he was the 2024 &#8220;Person of the Year.&#8221;
The soon-to-be 47th president said his campaign was successful because &#8220;we said things that were on the minds of the country.&#8221;
&#8220;I think the Democrats didn&#8217;t get it,&#8221; he said. &#8220;They just kept going back to the same old nonsense. And it was nonsense, especially in where we are right now. And we hit—we hit something that was very special. We hit the nerve of the country.&#8221;
Trump said that Democrats did not get &#8220;the feel of the country,&#8221; which he said was people being in a state of anger because of the millions of illegal aliens that President Joe Biden allowed in.

He said that the border and illegal immigration were a bigger factor in why he won the election than even the economy.
&#8220;[People] don&#8217;t want to be invaded by [182 illegal aliens from different countries] at this moment,&#8221; Trump said, adding that he is willing to use the military to assist law enforcement with the removal of illegal aliens from the U.S.
Trump said that Republicans had become &#8220;the party of common sense,&#8221; and that&#8217;s why voters chose them to run the country.
&#8220;I think people want to lead a good life,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I think they want to be able to buy groceries at a reasonable price and not have to turn off their heat in order to buy two apples. I think that people want security. I don&#8217;t think people want to have our borders rushed by—it&#8217;s really an invasion of our country by foreign countries, and not just South America. I mean, these are countries all over the world.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s really, I think our people want common sense applied to their life, and they don&#8217;t want to see a girl be beat up in a boxing ring by a man, as happens,&#8221; he added. &#8220;They don&#8217;t want to see somebody in a weightlifting contest, a woman against a man. It makes no sense. They don&#8217;t want to see, you know, men playing in women&#8217;s sports. They don&#8217;t. They don&#8217;t want to see all of this transgender, which is, it&#8217;s just taken over.&#8221;

President-elect Donald Trump was named TIME&#8217;s 2024 “Person of the Year” on Thursday as the magazine highlighted his unparalleled &#8220;political rebirth.&#8221;
The magazine <a href="https://time.com/7200212/person-of-the-year-2024-donald-trump/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=person-of-the-year&amp;utm_term=_&amp;linkId=686648872">reported</a> Trump&#8217;s &#8220;first term ended in disgrace&#8221; and said &#8220;he was shunned by most party officials when he announced his candidacy in late 2022 amid multiple criminal investigations.&#8221;
In his <a href="https://time.com/7201547/person-of-the-year-2024-donald-trump-choice/">letter</a> to readers, TIME Editor-in-Chief Sam Jacobs said it was not a difficult choice.
&#8220;Since he began running for President in 2015, perhaps no single individual has played a larger role in changing the course of politics and history than Trump,&#8221; Jacobs wrote, adding that with how his first term in office ended, &#8220;the smart money wagered that we had witnessed the end of Trump.&#8221;

Jacobs continued:

TIME Magazine issued an embarrassing correction to its post-debate report about how former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris fared against each other on Tuesday night.
Breitbart columnist John Nolte <a href="https://www.breitbart.com/the-media/2024/09/11/nolte-time-issues-humiliating-correction-admitting-kamala-supports-taxpayer-funded-gender-surgery-for-illegals/">noted</a> that the left-wing publication initially <a href="https://archive.is/VmxAA#selection-883.0-892.0">reported</a>:
<blockquote>The former President &#8230; falsely claimed that Harris “wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison.”</blockquote>
Trump made the factually correct statement when talking about the litany of issues that Harris has flip-flopped on since becoming the Democrat Party&#8217;s presidential nominee.
&#8220;She did things that nobody would ever think of,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;Now she wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens that are in prison. This is a radical Left liberal that would do this.&#8221;
Trump&#8217;s comment came after CNN recently <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harris-pledged-to-use-taxpayer-money-to-fund-sex-change-surgeries-for-illegal-aliens-in-detention-report">unearthed</a> a questionnaire Harris filled out for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) during her failed 2020 presidential campaign. She was asked if she, as president, would use “executive authority to ensure that transgender and non-binary people who rely on the state for medical care – including those in prison and immigration detention – will have access to comprehensive treatment associated with gender transition, including all necessary surgical care.”
She answered, “Yes.”

Harris explained her answer by claiming that it was “important that transgender individuals who rely on the state for care receive the treatment they need, which includes access to treatment associated with gender transition.”
“Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment,” she claimed.
TIME issued the following correction to their report:

The original version of this story mischaracterized as false Donald Trump&#8217;s statement accusing Kamala Harris of supporting “transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison” As a presidential candidate in 2019, Harris filled out a <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/09/09/politics/kfile-harris-pledged-support-in-2019-to-cut-ice-funding-and-provide-transgender-surgery-to-detained-migrants/index.html">questionnaire</a> saying she supported taxpayer-funded gender transition treatment for detained immigrants.
</blockquote>
However, the edit that the publication made inside the piece was still insufficient as they simply removed the word &#8220;false&#8221; so the sentence now reads: &#8220;The former President &#8230; claimed that Harris &#8216;wants to do transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison.'&#8221;
The fact that the publication still uses the word &#8220;claimed&#8221; to hedge Trump&#8217;s statement shows that they are intent on casting doubt on the veracity of what he said, even though it&#8217;s a position that Harris put in writing.

The media have done an amazing job of spinning up Kamala Harris as a candidate because she has done nothing so far. They have created an extraordinarily impenetrable echo chamber, an echo chamber so strong it is effectively a cone of silence for the American people.
For example, Time Magazine published a cover of Harris <a href="https://time.com/7009317/reintroduction-of-kamala-harris/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">titled</a>, “The Reintroduction of Kamala Harris.”

Does she need a reintroduction? She&#8217;s been reintroduced for the last 10 years. She was the attorney general of California. She was a senator from California. She ran for president. She lost. Then, she became the vice president. She failed. And now, she&#8217;s running again.
It&#8217;s an extraordinarily powerful echo chamber because according to Time itself, Kamala refused to engage in an interview with Time Magazine.
So, Time Magazine featured Kamala Harris on their cover, a subject who will not deign to speak with them.
All of Harris’ reported momentum is reliant on the continued spin of the media and her continued silence, because if she ever has to emerge from the bubble that has been created around her, she will immediately meet with reality and begin to melt.
But that only happens one of two ways: if one of the members of the media decides to get honest and do their job, which is not going to happen, or if there is so much outside pressure on Harris to actually come out of the bubble. Then she would meet with reality, which would be very bad for her.
Thus, the media are now attempting to protect not only Harris, but also the bubble they have built around her. They can&#8217;t just protect Harris. They have to protect the bubble. They are the bubble. 
So what’s the biggest threat to the bubble? The possibility of a competitor arising who might, in fact, penetrate human minds to the same extent they do by going around them.
Which brings us to Elon Musk.

The legacy media has attempted to choke off alternative sources of information for years. There&#8217;s really nothing new happening under the sun since 2016 when Donald Trump won. There has been an overt effort by regulatory agencies in Europe, by Democrats, in the United States, by organizations like the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, to shut down alternative sources of information by depriving them of revenue, by declaring their work misinformation or disinformation, and by telling social media to siphon off traffic from anything that is not the legacy media.
The bubble had to be maintained. If the media loses that bubble, they lose everything. They don&#8217;t just lose their business. They lose their political influence as well. 
So on Monday, they trained all their guns on Elon Musk. The real reason they were mad at Elon for buying Twitter (now X) in the first place was, of course, that Twitter had been part of their Praetorian Guard. Twitter was part of the team.
Run by Jack Dorsey, Twitter was a place where you could be banned, as Jordan Peterson was for mentioning that boys are not girls. Twitter was a place where, if you took heterodox political positions, Twitter would make moves to shut down your distribution and reach. They would shadow-ban you; it happened to me, as well as many others.
But then Musk bought it. He opened it up. And he made clear to everyone what Twitter was doing.
That&#8217;s what the media could not stand. Since that day, they&#8217;ve been scared of Elon, and they&#8217;ve been scared of anyone who&#8217;s willing to provide a counter to their bubble.
On Monday, that broke out into the open because Donald Trump came back on X (formerly Twitter) in advance of his interview with Elon Musk on X Spaces.
Musk is a Trump-supporter at this point. He has come out and said that he&#8217;s voting for Donald Trump. He has pledged money to PACs associated with Trump. He wants Trump to win.
As opposed to Trump, who will walk into hostile places to do interviews, everyone understands that if Kamala Harris gets off the teleprompter for 37 seconds at a time, she&#8217;s in dire trouble.
So the entire bubble — the Democrat apparatus, the human centipede that is Democratic politicians, their press offices, and the entire media — that entire apparatus was threatened by Elon Musk and Donald Trump, which is the only way to explain why they went off their rockers.
They called out the big guns. They started freaking out. And it was not just Democrats; it was members of the media and regulators in Europe. This could not be: to threaten the informational monopoly they have created over the course of decades.
In advance of the interview yesterday, Thierry Breton, who is a member of the European Commission, wrote <a href="https://x.com/ThierryBreton/status/1823033048109367549" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a letter</a> to Musk in advance of the interview issuing a threat: 
<blockquote>As you know, formal proceedings are already ongoing against acts under the DSA …  we cannot exclude potential spillovers in the EU. Therefore, we are monitoring the potential risks in the EU associated with the dissemination of content that may incite violence, hate and racism in conjunction with major political — or societal — events around the world, including debates and interviews in the context of elections. … My services and I will be extremely vigilant to any evidence that points to breaches of the DSA and will not hesitate to make full use of our toolbox, including by adopting interim measures, should it be warranted to protect EU citizens from serious harm.</blockquote>
In other words, he was saying, “Shut the hell up or we are going to come after your company and destroy you.” 
That&#8217;s how threatened they are. That&#8217;s how scared they are of the possibility of the legacy media applecart getting upset.
And it wasn’t just the Europeans; it came from America too. The Washington Post ran a <a href="https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2024/08/11/musk-x-feed-politics-trump/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">news piece</a> titled, “Elon Musk’s X feed becomes megaphone for his far-right politics.” The entire article revolved around how Elon Musk is Right-wing and that&#8217;s bad and he&#8217;s far-Right.
A Washington Post pseudo-journalist named Cleve Woodson was in the White House pressroom on Monday prior to the Musk interview. He actually asked the White House why Musk was allowed to interview Trump, <a href="https://www.mediaite.com/news/reporter-asks-kjp-about-intervening-to-fight-misinformation-ahead-of-trump-elon-musk-x-twitter-interview/#:~:text=Feel%20free%20to%20say%20if,know%2C%20it's%20an%20America%20issue." target="_blank" rel="noopener">saying</a>:
<blockquote>Elon Musk is slated to interview Donald Trump tomor- — tonight on — on X.  I don&#8217;t know if the president is going to tune in. Feel free to say if he is or not. But I — I think that misinformation on Twitter is not just a campaign issue. It&#8217;s a — you know, it&#8217;s an America issue. What role does the White House or the president have in sort of stopping that or stopping the spread of that or sort of inter- — intervening in that?</blockquote>
One of the most astonishing elements of the American media is that no one clamors more loudly about the importance of the First Amendment. But for American media, the First Amendment only applies to them when they see freedom of the press being protected. They do not see freedom of the press as a subsection of an amendment dealing more broadly with freedom of speech. They see themselves as the special elite who have been elected by the Fates in order to express free speech.
You don&#8217;t get to. But they are members of the press, which means they have extravagant and magical capacities to engage in free speech. 
But you don&#8217;t. Elon Musk doesn&#8217;t. President Trump doesn&#8217;t.
Why? You, Musk, and Trump are not members of the press. You do not have the stamp of approval.
And thus free speech does not really apply to you.

The president of the United States is a yam or a squash or some other sort of vegetable because he is no longer sentient.
I say this after some consideration and after reading a very long <a href="https://time.com/6984968/joe-biden-transcript-2024-interview/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> that he did with Time Magazine. He’s on the cover of Time — which is basically a defunct magazine at this point — gazing out stonily, standing over the Resolute desk staring into the camera in black and white, with a headline reading, “If He Wins.”
Time is doing its best to try and massage him through this campaign. In <a href="https://time.com/6985018/joe-biden-interview-story-behind-2024/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">their piece</a> behind the cover, they say, “In the time we spent with the President, he remembered long-ago encounters with historic figures ranging from Pope John Paul II to Henry Kissinger. He recalled the words of historian Jon Meacham, who told Biden after the President entered the Oval Office on Inauguration Day that the country had not been as divided since the days of Lincoln, nor the future of its democracy as challenged since those of FDR. The overall impression Biden left us with is one of a man in conversation with history, both the country’s and his own.”
But when you read the interview, what you come away with is a president who&#8217;s in conversation with the walls, perhaps with his gruel. This president is no longer with us.
That&#8217;s not just because he&#8217;s got all the wrong principles. It&#8217;s not just because he has effectively set America&#8217;s foreign policy on fire, while also lighting the jet fuel under the inflationary economy that Americans have been suffering through.
The transcript of the interview exposes that he is no longer with us. Time did not release the tape of the interview, likely because he stumbles over himself. He is verbally what he is physically, such as when he attempted to climb up a flight of stairs into Air Force One. This matters — because the rest of the world can see it.
We have been told by all of his allies that he is sharp as a tack, that he is razor-sharp, that this man is the most alert president we&#8217;ve ever had in meetings. We have been told that he is quizzing people fast, asking them about events, about times and places. According to his aides, he is so with it that they cannot keep up with this geriatric dotard.
That&#8217;s not the impression from this interview. He covers several different topics in this extraordinarily long interview, and he falls apart in nearly every answer.

The <a href="https://time.com/6984970/joe-biden-2024-interview/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview begins</a> with him discussing American foreign policy. He says, “We are, we are the world power. And what I inherited, as a consequence of the mistake that we made in Afghanistan is a — was not a loss in Afghanistan, excuse my cold.” He continues, saying, “I&#8217;ve always believed that there are two elements to American security, and the biggest element and, and our normative example, is our alliances, our alliances.”
“I&#8217;ve always believed that there are two elements to American security, and the biggest element and, and our normative example, is our alliances, our alliances,” he says. “We are — we have, compared to the rest of the world, we have put together the strongest alliance in the history of the world, number one. Number two, we&#8217;re in a situation where we are able to move in a way that recognizes how much the world has changed and still lead the world. And it&#8217;s our security. For example, the idea that if when Putin decided to go into Russia — I mean, he&#8217;s gonna go from Russia into Ukraine — the reason why I cleared the intelligence so we can release the information we knew that he was going to attack, was to let the world know we were still in charge.”
Now, if you can follow that as an answer, you win $100 because that is absolutely nonsensical. In the course of one paragraph, Biden falls all over himself. He suggests that we did not lose in Afghanistan. He suggests we put together “the strongest alliance in the history of the world,” the alliance to take on Russia in Ukraine.
But he says in the middle of this that Putin decided to go into Russia. Does this sound like a sentient president to you?
Then, he pats himself on the back for his activity in Ukraine, saying he put NATO back together: “I did it. I did it. And we&#8217;re now the strongest nation. We have the strongest alliance in all of America, all of history. In the meantime, what we keep skipping over is what the consequence of the success of Russia in Ukraine would be. That&#8217;s why I brought this along. You probably haven&#8217;t read it. Most people haven&#8217;t read it. He says this is part of reestablishing the Soviet Union. That&#8217;s what this is all about. It wasn&#8217;t just about taking part of— He wanted, he wanted to go back to the, to the days when there was NATO and there was that other outfit that Poland, everybody belonged to.”
“There was that other outfit that Poland, everybody belonged to.” Like a hockey team, or does he mean the Warsaw Pact? The fact that the President of the United States is old enough to actually remember the Warsaw Pact but cannot remember what it is called is not a good sign for his mentality going into an election where, if elected, he will finish his term at the age of 86.
When asked what peace looks like in Ukraine, he answers, saying, “Peace looks like making sure Russia never, never, never, never occupies Ukraine. That&#8217;s what peace looks like. And it doesn&#8217;t mean NATO, they are part of NATO, it means we have a relationship with them like we do with other countries, where we supply weapons so they can defend themselves in the future. But it is not, if you notice, I was the one when — and you guys did report it at Time — the one that I was saying that I am not prepared to support the NATOization of Ukraine.”
He&#8217;s not even speaking English.
Forget about the bad policy. Forget about the fact that he has slow-walked aid to Ukraine, that only in the last week or so has he decided if we are going to ally ourselves with Ukraine sufficient to push the Russians back to lead to some sort of negotiation, perhaps we might want to supply them the weaponry to hit bases in Russia that are being used to target Ukraine. That&#8217;s been happening in the last two weeks, after two years of war.
It&#8217;s not just that he&#8217;s wrong about everything. He is no longer with us.
Next, he gets to Israel. And on Israel, he&#8217;s totally discombobulated because the moral math is extremely clear. An American ally, a democracy, was attacked on October 7 by an actual, honest-to-God terror group who murdered 1,200 people and took 250 hostages, and are hiding behind civilians, stealing humanitarian aid, and killing anyone who might govern the Gaza Strip after they&#8217;re gone.
Joe Biden is having a supremely tough time with simply supplying Israel what they need to finish off Hamas, or even allowing Israel to finish off Hamas in the South so that they can turn north and push Hezbollah back. Hezbollah has gotten more aggressive; they have set a lot of northern Israel on fire. Over the course of the last 72 hours, Israel was able to put out those fires.
Israel is also under attack from the Houthis in Yemen. They&#8217;re under attack from bases in Iraq and Syria. They&#8217;re under direct attack from Iran. They&#8217;re under attack on seven different fronts, minimum.
But Biden believes the real threat is, of course, the Israeli government. 
The Time Magazine interviewer asks, “So in Israel, obviously, a difficult time there. What steps are you prepared to take against Israel now that Netanyahu appears to have crossed your red line in Rafah, Mr. President?”
The reality is that Israel did not cross Biden&#8217;s supposed red line in Rafah. And let&#8217;s be direct about this crossing of red lines of Joe Biden&#8217;s: It has no consequence. You&#8217;ll recall that Biden said there was a red line for Iran attacking Israel, and Iran did crossed it and not much happened. You&#8217;ll recall that Barack Obama once said there was a red line in Syria, and then Syria used chemical weapons. He did nothing. It turns out crossing Democratic red lines has no consequences. 
But Biden’s brains are scrambled eggs. He answers, “I&#8217;m not going to speak to that now because you&#8217;re going to report this before I make, before— I&#8217;m in the process of talking with the Israelis right now. So I&#8217;m not going to . . .”
Some back and forth then ensues, as Time attempts to have Biden clarify:
Time: What does that mean?
Biden: If I tell you, you’ll write it.  It’s not time for you to write it.
Time: What are the nature of your conversations with the Israelis right now? Have you spoken with Bibi?
Biden: I have not spoken with Bibi since— I have not spoken with Bibi since the attack on Sunday. Was it Sunday?
Time: Yep. Sunday.
Biden: I have not. My team has.
Time: But has he crossed your red line?
Biden: I&#8217;m not going to respond to that because I&#8217;m about to make a . . . anyway.
He finishes the sentence with the word “anyway.” You might think to yourself, that&#8217;s not a complete sentence. You would be right.
But don&#8217;t worry, there&#8217;s more.

The editor put “unintelligible” there. He put “unintelligible” in the transcript three times.
Biden mixes up Iraq and Iran, and later, he mixes up Russia and China. There&#8217;s an actual editor&#8217;s note saying, “Biden appeared to mean XI here, not Putin.”
Time asks, “You are 81 years old, and would be 86 by the time you left office. Large majorities of Americans, including in the Democratic Party, tell pollsters they think you are too old to lead. Could you really do this job as an 85-year-old man?”
And Biden answers, “I can do it better than anybody you know. You&#8217;re looking at me; I can take you, too.”
He threatens to fight the interviewer.
Again, let&#8217;s be clear about this. Biden could not successfully fight a day-old head of cabbage. Not only would it disrupt his digestive system, leading to more clean-up on aisle five from his night nurse, but he also could not physically fight an inanimate object.
He routinely loses to them, from teleprompters to staircases.
But he&#8217;s threatening to fight people.

Whether women are prosecuted for aborting their unborn children should be left up to the states, and it&#8217;s &#8220;totally irrelevant&#8221; if a president is &#8220;comfortable&#8221; with such laws, according to former President Donald Trump.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee was interviewed by <a href="https://time.com/6972022/donald-trump-transcript-2024-election/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Time Magazine</a> for a feature article published Tuesday morning that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-he-wont-seek-retribution-against-biden-if-he-wins-second-term-i-have-too-much-respect-for-the-office" target="_blank" rel="noopener">focuses</a> on what Trump&#8217;s agenda would be if he wins a second term in the White House. During a portion of the interview, the Time reporter focused on abortion, an issue that could have major implications in the upcoming election.
Asked about his specific position on prosecuting women who abort their unborn children, Trump told Time that those questions should be reserved for each state.
&#8220;The states are going to say. It’s irrelevant whether I’m comfortable or not. It&#8217;s totally irrelevant, because the states are going to make those decisions,&#8221; said Trump. &#8220;And by the way, Texas is going to be different than Ohio. And Ohio is going to be different than Michigan. I see what&#8217;s happening.&#8221;
The former president added that the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade was a huge victory because it &#8220;was all about bringing it back to the states.&#8221;
&#8220;Every legal scholar, Democrat, Republican, and other wanted that issue back at the states. You know, Roe v. Wade was always considered very bad law,&#8221; he said.
Trump was then asked about his previous criticism of Florida&#8217;s six-week abortion limitation when he <a href="https://apnews.com/article/trump-desantis-abortion-ban-republican-primary-5bdbba55f9c2f328d49b5fbe9727677e" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the law is &#8220;a terrible mistake&#8221; and was pressed on how he would vote as a resident of Florida on the abortion referendum that will be on the state&#8217;s ballot in November.
&#8220;Well, I said I thought six weeks is too severe. You know, I&#8217;ve said that previously. I think it was a semi-controversial statement when I made it, and it&#8217;s become less and less controversial with time,&#8221; Trump said, adding that he believes Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis &#8220;was hurt very badly&#8221; politically when he signed the six-week limitations into law.
Trump said he would not reveal how he would vote on the abortion referendum, which, if passed, would make Florida another extreme pro-abortion state, allowing abortion up until viability, which is roughly between 20-25 weeks.

Earlier this month, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-releases-long-awaited-abortion-position-says-policies-should-be-left-to-states" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released a statement</a> on his abortion stance, where he said that &#8220;states will determine by vote or legislation or perhaps both, and whatever they decide must be the law of the land. In this case, the law of the state.&#8221; Days later, the Arizona Supreme Court upheld a 160-year-old abortion law that protected unborn babies from nearly all abortions, and Trump was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-calls-on-arizona-governor-legislature-to-act-immediately-on-abortion-law" target="_blank" rel="noopener">critical</a> of the decision allowing the 1864 law to go into effect.
“The Supreme Court in Arizona went too far on their Abortion Ruling, enacting and approving an inappropriate Law from 1864. So now the Governor and the Arizona Legislature must use HEART, COMMON SENSE, and ACT IMMEDIATELY, to remedy what has happened,” Trump wrote. “Remember, it is now up to the States and the Good Will of those that represent THE PEOPLE. The GOP-controlled Arizona House <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/arizona-house-passes-bill-to-repeal-1864-abortion-law" target="_blank" rel="noopener">passed</a> a bill last week by a four-vote margin to repeal the abortion law as three Republicans joined all Democrats in support of the legislation. The abortion ban repeal is now in the hands of the state Senate, which is also controlled by Republicans.

Former President Donald Trump said he has &#8220;too much respect&#8221; for the office of president to go after Joe Biden if Trump wins a second term in the White House.
The former president sat down for an in-depth interview covering a range of issues for a <a href="https://time.com/6972022/donald-trump-transcript-2024-election/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Time Magazine</a> feature story that was published Tuesday morning. During the discussion, Trump was asked about pursuing retribution against Democrats, including President Biden, whom Trump says is directing the multiple prosecutions against him.
The question began with the Time reporter attempting to argue against Trump&#8217;s statement that Biden is behind the criminal cases against Trump, saying, &#8220;I just want to say for the record, there&#8217;s no evidence that President Biden directed this prosecution against you. But even if we stipulated that &#8230;&#8221;
&#8220;I always hate the way a reporter will make those statements,&#8221; Trump shot back. &#8220;They know it’s so wrong. It’s just sort of to protect yourself. But no, no. His head of the Justice Department, one of the top few people, was put into the DOJ. Fani [Willis], Mr. [Nathan] Wade, Fani’s lover, spent hours in Washington with the DOJ working on my case. The DOJ worked with Letitia James on my case. The DOJ worked with deranged Jack Smith. He&#8217;s a deranged person on my case. No, no, this is all Biden.&#8221;
Yet, Trump clarified that he would not want to pursue retribution against Biden.
&#8220;I wouldn&#8217;t want to hurt Biden. I&#8217;m not looking to hurt Biden. I wouldn&#8217;t want to hurt him. I have too much respect for the office,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;But he is willing to hurt a former president who is very popular, who got 75 million votes. I got more votes than any other sitting president in history. And I have probably eight cases right now that are all inspired by them, including my civil case.&#8221;
The Time reporter then asked Trump about appointing a special prosecutor to investigate Biden and his family over their alleged corrupt dealings with foreign businesses. Trump said that &#8220;it depends [on] what happens with the Supreme Court,&#8221; referring to his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/supreme-court-to-hear-arguments-on-whether-trump-has-immunity-from-federal-prosecution" target="_blank" rel="noopener">presidential immunity case</a> before the high court.
&#8220;If they&#8217;ve ruled that they don&#8217;t have immunity, Biden &#8230; would be prosecuted for 20 different acts,&#8221; Trump added.

The former president was also asked about going after other Democrats, such as Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who are currently prosecuting the leading presidential candidate in the middle of the 2024 campaign.
Trump said that what Bragg and Willis are doing &#8220;is a terrible thing&#8221; but added that he wouldn&#8217;t instruct his attorney general to prosecute the Democratic officials.
&#8220;No, I don&#8217;t want to do that,&#8221; he said, adding, &#8220;We are going to have great retribution through success. We&#8217;re going to make our country successful again. Our retribution is going to be through success of our country.&#8221;

For almost a century, Time has been picking a person who had the most influence on the world, be it positive or negative. The distinction was initially called “Man of the Year,” and prior to 1999, only four women had been selected.
Swift was also named Person of the Year in 2017, making her one of just a handful of individuals who were selected more than once. She beat out other contenders for this year, including Barbie, Trump prosecutors, King Charles III, Hollywood Strikers, Sam Altman, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Jerome Powell.

Time Magazine announced on Monday that finalists had been selected for its 2022 Person of the Year, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), outgoing Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), and Twitter CEO Elon Musk.

The poll found that DeSantis has gained ground on President Joe Biden, moving from being down nine points at the start of 2022 to being tied with the president now, 42-42. Trump trails Biden by 10 points, a gap that grew by two points since the start of 2022.
Cheney&#8217;s notoriety has increased in mainstream media over her opposition to Trump and involvement in the House committee to investigate the events of January 6, 2021.
