“The Young Turks” host <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ana-kasparian">Ana Kasparian</a> made it clear that whether President Joe Biden stays in the race or not, she’s not voting for him and has registered Independent over the Democrats power struggle.
Speaking to <a href="https://x.com/realDailyWire/status/1814103451397201931">The Daily Wire’s</a> Cabot Phillips, Kasparian said she’s turned away from the Democrat Party because she’s been sickened after watching 81-year-old Biden’s drive to hold “on to power,” something the Democrats have repeatedly tried to accuse former President Donald Trump of doing.
“Biden has centered his campaign on the idea that Donald Trump must be defeated because if he’s not defeated our democracy is on the line,” Kasparian told the host. “Biden also happens to be the weakest candidate to run up against Donald Trump.”

“He [Biden] can’t run on Donald Trump being a threat to Democracy while simultaneously remaining in the race knowing that he is the weakest possible candidate to beat Donald Trump,” she added. “I think that’s a huge problem for the Democrats.”
Phillips then pressed Kasparian, “If Joe Biden does remain on the ticket, would you vote for him?” 
“No, I would not vote for him,” she replied. “This entire power struggle that I’m witnessing on the Democratic side has made me register as an Independent.”
“I’m disgusted by it … we are talking about an 81-year-old — who again is the weakest possible candidate to run against Donald Trump — holding on to power,” she added.
“He’s [Biden] holding on for dear life and what it communicates to me is that there’s more interest in Biden’s power, in maintaining his power, as opposed to doing the right thing and bringing a younger candidate, a more competitive candidate, to actually beat Republicans and Donald Trump,” Kasparian continued.
During last month’s CNN Presidential Debate between Biden and Trump, the president had a disastrous performance as he struggled, rambled and even froze several times during the broadcast.
Following the debate, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/george-clooney-joins-chorus-of-stars-telling-biden-its-time-to-drop-out-of-race">Hollywood stars</a> and political commentators began calling for Biden to step out of the race. In the time since, the chorus of people saying Biden must drop out has only gotten stronger. 
Earlier this week, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/adam-schiff">Rep. Adam Schiff</a> (D-CA) publicly called on Biden to end his campaign early, saying that the U.S. was “at a crossroads.”
“A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November,” he said.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/cenk-uygur">Cenk Uygur</a>, founder of The Young Turks, was in a state of denial when he announced on Wednesday that he will run for President of the United States.
The progressive commentator, an immigrant from Turkey, reportedly said he does not believe the U.S. Constitution&#8217;s <a href="https://harvardlawreview.org/forum/vol-128/on-the-meaning-of-natural-born-citizen/">&#8220;natural born citizen&#8221; clause</a> will disqualify him in a campaign for the Democratic Party&#8217;s 2024 nomination against President <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/joe-biden">Joe Biden</a>.
In <a href="https://www.semafor.com/article/10/11/2023/cenk-uygur-running-for-president-as-democrat">speaking with Semafor</a>, Uygur predicted a &#8220;slam dunk&#8221; victory if and when the issue reaches the U.S. Supreme Court, suggesting the legal challenge was a &#8220;good reason&#8221; to run. &#8220;I’m tired of 25 million Americans having this albatross around their neck,&#8221; he added.
Uygur, 53, previously <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/03/03/us/elections/results-california-primary-elections.html">ran an unsuccessful campaign</a> in 2020 for a U.S. House seat vacated by former Rep. Katie Hill (D-CA), but eligibility for a congressional seat is different from the requirements for the presidency.
As <a href="https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artII-S1-C5-1/ALDE_00013692/">stated</a> in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the Constitution: &#8220;No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.&#8221;
Social media became awash in comments mocking the announcement.
&#8220;His first act as a candidate for president is to violate the constitution of the United States because he is not a natural born citizen,&#8221; talk radio host Larry O&#8217;Connor <a href="https://twitter.com/LarryOConnor/status/1712265510409195770">said</a> in a post to X. &#8220;Actually this kind of makes him the perfect candidate for the Democrats.&#8221;
&#8220;You weren’t born here so you aren’t even allowed to run for president yet you’re taking donations under the premise that you are? Sounds like fraud Cenk! Not a smart move,&#8221; <a href="https://twitter.com/robbystarbuck/status/1712273507722137966">said</a> former Tennessee congressional candidate Robby Starbuck.

They were responding to a post by Uygur linking to a <a href="https://www.cenkforamerica.com/">&#8220;Cenk for America&#8221; website</a> that featured a button for donations. As of press time, his ActBlue page showed that Uygur had garnered 732 donations, though the total amount of money raised was not advertised.
The eligibility issue has come up in recent months with another political figure. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Hollywood actor born in Austria who became governor of California, said in a June interview that <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/news/arnold-schwarzenegger-president-2024-says-win-1235646563/">&#8220;of course&#8221;</a> he would run for president — if he was eligible.
Uygur&#8217;s entry into the race came two days after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/rfk-jr-switches-to-running-for-president-as-an-independent">announced</a> that he was ending his bid for the Democratic Party&#8217;s presidential nomination to run as an independent.
Biden has <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/dem_primaries/">dominated</a> the 2024 Democratic Party primary polls, but general election polls showing matches against the GOP frontrunner, former President Donald Trump, and others, <a href="https://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/pres_general/">have been much closer</a>.

Ana Kasparian, a left-wing co-host on &#8220;The Young Turks,&#8221; apologized this week for promoting false claims about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis&#8217; handling of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/covid" target="_blank" rel="noopener">COVID</a> pandemic.
&#8220;I want to correct all of those errors that we had previously reported,&#8221; Kasparian said. &#8220;And I want to be clear that out of everyone who works on the main show, the only person who should be held responsible for that is me. I&#8217;m the executive producer of the show, and I screwed up royally. And part of the reason why I screwed up is because I had all these biases, of course, against Ron DeSantis.&#8221;
Kasparian said that she did not feel bad about having biases against DeSantis because she does not agree with everything that he has done as governor.
&#8220;But it becomes a problem when that bias blinds you to what the facts of various stories happen to be,&#8221; she said. &#8220;And I should have done my due diligence. I failed to do so.&#8221;
Kasparian then revealed that she was specifically talking about <a href="https://wusfnews.wusf.usf.edu/health-news-florida/2022-05-28/ig-report-finds-rebekah-jones-claims-of-covid-19-manipulation-to-be-unsubstantiated-and-unfounded" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discredited</a> conspiracy theorist Rebekah Jones, a twice-failed Democrat congressional candidate who was <a href="https://twitter.com/damintoell/status/1645990458458357762" target="_blank" rel="noopener">fired</a> by the DeSantis administration.
&#8220;And by failing to do so, I feel like I&#8217;ve misled the audience into thinking that Rebecca Jones is some sort of hero,&#8221; Kasparian said. &#8220;Now, to be fair to myself, and to be fair to other independent media sources, if you&#8217;re not doing your own original reporting, you&#8217;re relying on the mainstream media narrative a lot of the time, and if they&#8217;re not doing their due diligence, if they&#8217;re allowing their personal biases to stand in the way of actual factual reporting, well, that&#8217;s unfortunately going to trickle into the way independent news sources cover these types of stories as well.&#8221;
&#8220;Fact of the matter is, I want to make sure that I correct my errors,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I get you guys accurate information, and I avoid helping someone who might be a grifter, from fundraising off of our own audience members.&#8221;

“The Young Turks” co-host Ana Kasparian doubled down this week on slamming woke terms like &#8220;birthing person&#8221; after she <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/far-left-pundit-posts-viral-tweet-ripping-woke-trans-inclusive-terms-for-women-left-attacks-her">angered</a> left-wing activists online last month when she ripped “trans inclusive” terms for being “degrading” to women.
Kasparian, an unapologetic member of the Left, has caught flak from some extremists on her side of the aisle in the past for engaging in debate and discussion with people on the Right, most notably The Daily Wire&#8217;s Ben Shapiro back in 2021.
&#8220;Lol! The meltdowns over wanting be referred to as a woman rather than a &#8216;birthing person&#8217; is pretty wild,&#8221; she tweeted this week. &#8220;I’ll never apologize for that, especially as biological woman who has had a f***ing lifetime of being told I’m less than. I’m a woman. No apologies.&#8221;
When asked if anyone had actually called her a &#8220;birthing person,&#8221; Kasparian responded, &#8220;Yes &#8230; I live in CA.&#8221;
Last month, Kasparian ripped woke terminology, saying, &#8220;I&#8217;m a woman. Please don&#8217;t ever refer to me as a person with a uterus, birthing person, or person who menstruates.&#8221;
&#8220;How do people not realize how degrading this is?&#8221; she added. &#8220;You can support the transgender community without doing this s***.&#8221;

Taking on a critic from the Left complaining about so-called inclusion, Kasparian responded, “I have zero problem with inclusion. None. But there’s gotta be a better way than boiling it down to a body part, no? Especially in the context of having reproductive rights taken away from people who just see women as a baby-making vessel. That’s all I’m saying.”
The liberal host was attacked and called names, such as “transphobe,” by some on the Left.

A far-left co-host of The Young Turks erupted this week over the leaked draft of the majority opinion of an upcoming ruling by the Supreme Court on Roe v. Wade.
Justice Samuel Alito wrote in a document titled “Opinion of the Court” that “Roe was egregiously wrong from the start” and that “we hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled.”
“It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives,” he added.
In a video clip that went viral online Wednesday, The Young Turks&#8217; Ana Kasparian had a meltdown over the news as she repeatedly shouted in a state of exasperation.
&#8220;We don&#8217;t even have paid family leave. We don&#8217;t even have affordable childcare in this freaking country, okay?&#8221; she shouted. &#8220;And the people who fight against those kinds of laws are Republicans.&#8221;
&#8220;What do you want them to do with their kids when they have to go to work? What do you want them to do?&#8221; she continued. &#8220;What do you want them to do? I want them to answer that freaking question. Answer the question. Journalists, ask them the question. Ask them. Ask them. Ask them the g*****n question, God.&#8221;
On the matter of Democrat lawmakers apparently not caring as much about the issue as her, Kasparian responded, &#8220;They don&#8217;t care, they&#8217;re fine. They&#8217;re fine.&#8221;
&#8220;They&#8217;re all so old they don&#8217;t even have to worry about it affecting them and if they were young enough where it would affect them, they&#8217;ll get their abortion, okay?&#8221; she continued. &#8220;They&#8217;re trading individual stocks, enriching themselves, they&#8217;re good. They&#8217;re good. They don&#8217;t care about you. Make sure you understand that and you feel it in your bones, they don&#8217;t care about you, at all.&#8221;

Ana Kasparian, a cohost of the popular progressive online news show “The Young Turks,” shockingly revealed last week that she &#8220;was wrong&#8221; about key facts concerning the case of Kyle Rittenhouse.
Kasparian said she thought Rittenhouse first chased after Joseph Rosenbaum, sparking the incident that ended with the teen fatally shooting Rosenbaum. However, it was Rosenbaum who chased after Rittenhouse. Moreover, a gun was fired from a third party just seconds before Rittenhouse fatally shot Rosenbaum.
&#8220;I was wrong about that, okay, so I want to correct the record,&#8221; Kasparian said on her news show. &#8220;Look, these details matter, because if you&#8217;re going to make an argument that you acted in self-defense, there needs to be some proof that there was an imminent threat.&#8221;
Rittenhouse&#8217;s defense team is arguing the teen was acting in self-defense on August 25, 2020, when he fatally shot two rioters and injured a third.
&#8220;Now, what really mattered to me was how all of this unfolded,&#8221; she explained. &#8220;What was the thing that sparked it, what started all of it. And, initially, I was under the assumption that Rittenhouse was the person who was chasing after Joseph Rosenbaum &#8212; that&#8217;s how it started. But I was wrong about that.&#8221;

Kasparian then showed video of a combative Rosenbaum shouting &#8220;shoot me&#8221; before chasing after an unsuspecting Rittenhouse. As Rosenbaum gains on Rittenhouse and throws a bag filled with his belongings from his hospital stay the night before, a third party fires off a gunshot. That&#8217;s when Rittenhouse turns and fires off four shots, fatally wounding Rosenbaum.

&#8220;So, those details matter, right? Who was chasing who matters, the gunshots by some other unidentified person, that matters, especially if you&#8217;re Rittenhouse and you&#8217;re running away, and then you hear shots and then Rosenbaum lunges toward him,&#8221; Kasparian sums up.
As highlighted by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/friendly-friendly-friendly-man-rittenhouse-shot-kept-chasing-him-despite-alert-he-wasnt-threat-police">The Daily Wire</a>, it was revealed during trial last week that Rosenbaum was &#8220;masked&#8221; when he chased Rittenhouse, and continued to pursue the teen despite Rittenhouse repeatedly yelling that he was “friendly,” Kenosha Police detective Martin Howard confirmed:
<blockquote>Howard was reviewing never-before-seen FBI infrared aerial surveillance footage for the court when defense asked him about Rittenhouse being pursued by Rosenbaum, and the then-17-year-old’s repeated yells of “friendly.”
Those yells, however, did not “dissuade Mr. Rosenbaum, correct?” Rittenhouse attorney Mark Richards asked Howard.
“Correct,” the official responded.</blockquote>

‘I Was Wrong’: Young Turks’ Kasparian Admits She Bought Into False Rittenhouse Narrative

This week, conservative podcast host Steven Crowder surpassed &#8220;The Young Turks&#8221; in YouTube subscribers, becoming the largest independent news channel on the platform, crossing the 5.03 million subscriber mark on Tuesday afternoon. 
Amid a time of increased demand for news and commentary outside of the traditional legacy media outlets, Crowder has risen with his massively popular “Change My Mind” <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtftZPL-k7Y&amp;list=PL3e1orPYt_4ZHGjuivZFsyJ81RL7j7_E1">series</a>, and his comedic digital shorts and daily commentary. 
He celebrated the development on Twitter, announcing: “Today, [Louder With Crowder] passes [The Young Turks] as the biggest independent online news/commentary channel on youtube&#8230; and we did it all without millions in foreign funding. I will retire my Cenk impression and costume, in the middle of the studio. Forever. 10AM ET.”

Crowder’s followers took to social media to celebrate, with thousands of users tweeting the #CrowderPassesTYT hashtag. 
The Young Turks, long an outspoken rival of Crowder, gained popularity throughout the 2016 and 2020 elections, avidly supporting Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in both of his presidential bids. 
Cenk Uygur, the Young Turks’ creator and most popular host, has consistently butted heads with Crowder over the years, <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBnYBXJvFAY">often</a> devoting entire segments to attacking him. 
&#8220;TYT were definitely pioneers and they reigned for an era. No one can take that away from them. That era has now come to an end,&#8221; Crowder told The Daily Wire.
&#8220;The victory felt somewhat hollow considering how far they&#8217;ve fallen,&#8221; he said, before adding &#8220;It&#8217;s not the same &#8216;win&#8217; I pictured when I was a 21 year old kid and they were the big, bad bullies of YouTube.&#8221;
As part of Tuesday’s <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrAtzlBhK4U">show,</a> Crowder aired a compilation of his past run-ins with Uygur and The Young Turks and vowed to retire his impression of Uygur, a popular recurring segment. “It is time to officially retire the Young Turks Cenk Uygur costume and character,” he said, as taps played in the background and a black costume was soberly laid on the ground. 
Crowder’s impressive influence was on display on election night, when his live coverage was seen by millions, garnering more viewers than cable outlets like CBS, NBC, and MSNBC. Only Fox News and CNN bested Crowder’s audience, despite the fact that YouTube had flagged his stream as “borderline content.”
“Borderline content” is a term YouTube uses for news they deem overly biased, preferring instead to promote what they call “authoritative voices,” like traditional legacy media outlets. 
Crowder is no stranger to run-ins with YouTube; his content was demonetized by the platform for a year after he was banned from their “Partner Program,” an ad revenue program for creators. As The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/youtube-re-monetizes-steven-crowder-over-a-year-after-it-banned-ads-on-his-content">Daily Wire</a> reported at the time:

At the time it demonetized Crowder, YouTube conceded that none of Crowder’s content violated its hate policies. The video platform ultimately decided to pull advertising off of Crowder’s content after <a href="https://www.theverge.com/2020/8/12/21365601/youtube-steven-crowder-monetization-reinstated-harassment-carlos-maza">stating</a> that the commentator had engaged in a “pattern of egregious actions” that “harmed the broader community and is against our YouTube Partner Program policies.”</blockquote>
As a result of the threat posed by censorship and demonetization, Crowder has relied heavily on <a href="https://get.blazetv.com">membership options and subscription programs</a> through BlazeTV.

On Thursday, &#8220;The Young Turks&#8221; (TYT) co-creator Cenk Uygur had network commentator Hasan Piker, who is Uygur&#8217;s nephew, on the program to discuss <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/50893/watch-young-turks-host-mock-dan-crenshaws-war-amanda-prestigiacomo">controversial statements</a> he made on Tuesday night about 9/11 and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/50909/dan-crenshaw-crushes-young-turks-commentator-who-amanda-prestigiacomo">Rep. Dan Crenshaw</a> (R-TX). During a Twitch livestream, Piker said &#8220;America deserved&#8221; the terror attacks on September 11, 2001 that left 3,000 innocents dead and viciously mocked Rep. Crenshaw, a former SEAL, for losing his eye during an IED explosion while serving overseas.
Uygur disavowed the statements made from Piker throughout the discussion, but noted his nephew should have a chance to explain the commentary. For his part, Piker said he used imprecise language when he declared &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/50893/watch-young-turks-host-mock-dan-crenshaws-war-amanda-prestigiacomo">America deserved 9/11</a>,&#8221; underscoring that he is &#8220;anti-war,&#8221; and suggested one could &#8220;chalk&#8221; up the apparent error &#8220;to English being [his] second language.&#8221;
&#8220;I thought that I was saying that, you could draw a direct line, basically, that it was a consequence all of the things that we (the United States) have done in the region,&#8221; Piker told Uygur, explaining his 9/11 comment.
The TYT host told Piker that it was still &#8220;wrong&#8221; to say &#8220;Americans deserve 9/11.&#8221;
&#8220;No, I didn&#8217;t say, &#8216;Americans deserve 9/11,&#8217; I said, &#8216;America deserves 9/11,'&#8221; Piker said.
&#8220;And that&#8217;s still wrong,&#8221; replied Uygur.
&#8220;Well, maybe you could chalk it up to English being my second language, or whatever you wanna chalk it up to,&#8221; Piker responded, adding that he &#8220;should have used more precise and better use of the language there.&#8221;
According to his <a href="https://politicon.com/speaker/hasan-piker/">Politicon</a> profile, Piker was &#8220;born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and raised in Istanbul, Turkey.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s messed up that I would even give the opportunity to the Right to try to morally grandstand on an issue like this when they are 100% responsible for all the bloodshed that has been caused, even some other outlets in the mainstream media are also culpable in this circumstance,&#8221; he added.

Defending the vile remarks, Piker emphasized that he does not owe Crenshaw respect for serving in our military, though he noted that the Republican took the mockery &#8220;like a champ.&#8221;
&#8220;I have to make one note: Service does not guarantee respect. It should not. I&#8217;m sorry,&#8221; the commentator told Uygur, adding the accusation that Crenshaw is using his veteran status &#8220;to continue sending loads of young men and women overseas to die or to come back home and fail to reintegrate into society just exclusively for the profits of the military-industrial complex.&#8221;

Crenshaw responded to the vile remarks made by Piker on Wednesday. &#8220;[Hasan Piker] seems to confuse &#8216;Improvised Explosive Device&#8217; with some weird terrorist fantasy,&#8221; he wrote via Twitter. &#8220;Lol sorry for triggering you Hasan.&#8221;
&#8220;You&#8217;re no Pete Davidson, stop trying so hard,&#8221; the Texas representative added, referencing a &#8220;Saturday Night Live&#8221; comedian who made a much-maligned joke about Crenshaw&#8217;s wartime injury last year. Unlike Piker, Davidson <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/38214/watch-dan-crenshaw-graciously-accepts-pete-ryan-saavedra">apologized</a> for the (in comparative terms, mild) joke about Crenshaw, who, in turn, graciously appeared alongside the comedian for a powerful SNL segment.

Crenshaw lost his eye during his third deployment from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast.
&#8220;Dan was hit by an IED blast during a mission in Helmand province, Afghanistan,&#8221; the Republican&#8217;s <a href="https://crenshawforcongress.com/about/">campaign website</a> explains. &#8220;He was evacuated and awoke from his medically induced coma learning that his right eye had been destroyed in the blast and his left eye was still present, but badly damaged. Dan was completely blind and the doctors did not believe he would ever see again. Tara stood by him every day and night, keeping faith and praying he would see again. After several difficult surgeries, he eventually regained sight in his left eye, a miracle according to the head surgeon.&#8221;
Crenshaw served two more deployments following the serious injury and has received recognitions including two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart.
Along with his mockery of the war vet, Piker said during the same livestream that &#8220;America deserved 9/11,&#8221; a terrorist attack that left 3,000 innocents dead. The left-wing politico defended such remarks on Twitter, writing, &#8220;Americas foreign policy decisions has lead to 911. This would&#8217;ve been a controversial thing to say in 2001. Piker added, &#8220;We supplied arms to and trained Bin Laden. We destabilized the region long before 911. And now we&#8217;re stuck in perpetual war, which Dan Crenshaw was trying to justify in that clip. Piker posted a series of tweets on Tuesday mocking Crenshaw for discussing Saturday Night Live’s Pete Davidson&#8217;s joking about the Republican’s injury, though Crenshaw <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/38214/watch-dan-crenshaw-graciously-accepts-pete-ryan-saavedra">swiftly accepted</a> Davidson’s apology and appeared alongside the comedian on SNL.
&#8220;You may be surprised to hear that he&#8217;s a congressional candidate from Texas and not a hitman in a porno movie,&#8221; Davidson tastelessly joked in 2018. &#8220;I&#8217;m sorry. I know he lost his eye in war or whatever.&#8221;

The Young Turks’ Hasan Piker Says ‘America Deserved 9/11’, Mocks Dan Crenshaw’s War Injury: ‘Brave Soldier F***ed His Eye Hole’

On Sunday, authorities charged 20-year-old Eric Black Jr. with capital murder in the tragic and senseless death of 7-year-old Jazmine Barnes. Barnes was killed in a drive-by shooting on December 30 while she was in a vehicle with her mother and siblings in Houston, Texas.
Though initial reports, civil rights leaders, and racial activists framed the murder as a racially-motivated hate crime, the suspect, like young Jazmine, is black. The second suspect, 24-year-old Larry Woodruffe, a possible accomplice in the drive-by shooting, is also a black male.
&#8220;This is most likely a case of mistaken identity,&#8221; said Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez at a Sunday news conference.

The case inflamed racial tensions after Jazmine&#8217;s mother and multiple witnesses said they believed the man who killed young Jazmine was a white male. The Daily Caller reports that New York Daily News&#8217; Shaun King and Sheriff Gonzalez continued to promote the racially-charged narrative even after they had been tipped-off that the suspected killer was not white.
&#8220;Gonzalez acknowledged at a press conference Sunday that he received a tip from King in the middle of the week that Barnes&#8217;s killer was not the white male initially suspected in the case,&#8221; The Daily Caller <a href="https://dailycaller.com/2019/01/06/jazmine-barnes-shaun-king-houston/">reported</a>. &#8220;King wrote Sunday on Instagram that he received the tip on Jan. 3 that a 20-year-old black man named Eric Black Jr. and another man had shot Barnes.&#8221;
King posted photos of a white man charged with an unrelated felony in the area and asked his followers to give him inside information about the man&#8217;s alleged racism.

Gonzalez shrugged off the matter, arguing that the false hate crime narrative provided &#8220;important discussion&#8221; concerning racism.
&#8220;This death has sparked a lot of discussion on many different levels,&#8221; the sheriff said. &#8220;We know that there is an important discussion that does need to take place about race, about the real fear and concerns that hate crimes are in an uptick across this county. We also need to talk about gun violence.&#8221;
Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) also jumped to conclusions before the facts were out, inflaming racial tensions by telling the press that the shooting was a hate crime. &#8220;Do not be afraid to call this what it seems to be &#8212; a hate crime,&#8221; she said at a heated rally.
&#8220;I believe &#8211; and having written hate crime legislation, knowing the criteria, I believe that this should be looked at as a hate crime,&#8221; Jackson Lee said Friday. &#8220;We don&#8217;t want to have on the street someone who is willing to kill children and possibly kill them in the name of hate.&#8221;
Following the revelations of the suspects&#8217; identities, a reporter asked Jackson Lee on Sunday, &#8220;Do you feel it was irresponsible at all to suggest that this was a hate crime when we didn&#8217;t have all the facts?&#8221;
&#8220;Absolutely not, nothing is irresponsible when it comes to the loss of a precious 7 or 8-year old,&#8221; the congresswoman said, doubling down.
&#8220;The good thing was that in the comments that were made, there was no hysteria, there was no encouraging individuals to go out and find that person,&#8221; she added. &#8220;It was nothing but orderly respect for the rule of law allowing our law enforcement to be able to do their tasks. And then now to call for an understanding that any violence against a child should not be the norm and that we should stand up against all violence.&#8221;

Prior to his termination from the the film company bearing his family name, Harvey Weinstein requested private support from Hollywood “<a href="https://twitter.com/janicemin/status/917495057644584960">power players</a>” against moves to oust him from the Weinstein Company.
Weinstein described himself as “desperate” in his request for support via <a href="https://twitter.com/janicemin/status/917485536020905984">email</a>:

Whether it be in a facility or somewhere else, allow me to resurrect myself with a second chance. A lot of the allegation are false as you know but given therapy and counseling as other people have done, I think I’d be able to get there.
I could really use your support of just your honesty if you can’t support me.
But if you can, I need you to send a letter to my private gmail address. The letter would only go to the board and no one else. We believe what the board is trying to do is not only wrong but might be illegal and would destroy the company. If you could write this letter backing me, getting me the help and time away I need, and also stating your opposition to the board firing me, it would help me a lot. I am desperate for your help. Just give me the time to have therapy. Do not let me be fired. If the industry supports me, that is all I need.

It further <a href="http://www.dailywire.com/news/22079/toxic-weinstein-co-drop-weinstein-name-after-james-barrett">plans to remove</a> “Weinstein” from its company name
