A Hays Consolidated Independent School District (CISD) substitute teacher was fired on Friday after video emerged that allegedly showed her violently attacking a teenage student in a classroom.
&#8220;The video shows Tiffani Shadell Lankford, 32, approaching the 15-year-old sophomore girl and then punching the student in the face,&#8221; KXAN <a href="https://www.kxan.com/news/local/hays/hays-cisd-fires-lehman-high-school-substitute-teacher-for-hitting-student/">reported</a>. &#8220;The substitute then continues hitting the student as others look on in shock.&#8221;
Lehman High School Principal Karen Zuniga said in a statement to parents:
<blockquote>Dear Lobos,
As a family, we share both the good news and bad news together. Today, I have to tell you about an incident that is disconcerting.
This afternoon, we fired one of our guest teachers for hitting and fighting with a student. Under no circumstance is that behavior tolerated at Lehman High School or in Hays CISD. Additionally, the former employee was arrested by the Hays County Sheriff’s Office and faces potential criminal charges. Her actions will also be reported to the Texas Education Agency.
We take the safety and security of our students seriously. We took swift action when this incident occurred and will do everything necessary to protect our students.”</blockquote>

In a statement obtained by KXAN, Zuniga added, “Under no circumstance is that behavior tolerated at Lehman High School or in Hays CISD. We take the safety and security of our students seriously. We took swift action when this incident occurred and will do everything necessary to protect our students.”
Lankford has reportedly been arrested by police officers from Hays County Sheriff&#8217;s Office and charged with aggravated assault.
CBS Austin <a href="https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/hays-cisd-substitute-teacher-arrested-after-allegedly-assaulting-student-in-classroom">reported</a>: &#8220;The victim was taken to a local hospital by her father for evaluation. Lankford was transported to the Hays County Jail. The sheriff&#8217;s office said the victim is 15 years old. But a statement by the district says she is a 16-year-old sophomore.&#8221;
Students posted other videos of the incident on Twitter that CBS Austin reports were viewed by law enforcement officials.

Tim Savoy, chief communication officer for Hays CISD, <a href="https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/kyle-substitute-teacher-fired-after-video-shows-her-fighting-with-student/269-9d0cec6e-8ed6-4c4d-bf9c-826646c837b9">said</a>, “We are appalled at the actions of this former employee. There is absolutely no excuse or circumstance that can justify what you see unfold on the video. It is unconscionable what this adult did to one of our students.”
KVUE ABC <a href="https://www.kvue.com/article/news/local/kyle-substitute-teacher-fired-after-video-shows-her-fighting-with-student/269-9d0cec6e-8ed6-4c4d-bf9c-826646c837b9">noted</a> that &#8220;according to Hays CISD, Lankford attended her teacher orientation on Aug. 30, 2019. Her first job with the district was on Sept. 13. Friday was her 18th time working for the district. All substitutes in the district are required to undergo and pass fingerprint criminal background checks in order to work in the classroom.&#8221;
The San Marcos Daily Record <a href="https://www.sanmarcosrecord.com/node/204676">reported</a> that the student &#8220;was released to her father who took her to a local hospital for evaluation and Lankford was transported to the Hays County Jail where she awaits magistration tomorrow morning.&#8221;
The incident reportedly happened in a foreign language class.

On Wednesday, a teacher at a Pennsylvania middle school issued a homework assignment in which students were instructed to photograph themselves packing a bag to pretend they were refugees forced to leave their homes as “President Trump is trying to take control of the United States! There are fights in the streets!” <a href="https://www.wpxi.com/news/teacher-calls-parents-to-apologize-for-controversial-homework-assignment/1006415325">according to WPXI</a>.
The homework assignment at the middle school in the Penn Cambria School District in Gallitzin, PA, reportedlyupset parents. <a href="https://www.pennlive.com/news/2019/11/pa-teachers-huge-error-involving-trump-assignment-leads-to-apologies.html">Penn Live</a> reported, “District Superintendent William Marshall says the teacher realized the ‘huge error’ and has called each parent individually to apologize.&#8221;
The assignment stated:
<blockquote>President Trump is trying to take control of the United States! There are fights in the streets! You have to pretend that you are a refugee being forced to leave your home, never to return. Please have a parent to time them for ten minutes while they packed a bag. When the time was up they were to take a picture of the contents of their backpack and then email it to me. If no picture, then draw it. You will have to present to us why you chose those items. This is due on Thursday. Worth 10 points.</blockquote>
The teacher’s actions would seem to be out of place at the school; the middle school itself adheres to conservative principles. Its <a href="https://www.pcam.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/PCMS-Student-Handbook-2019-2020.pdf">dress code</a> reads:
<blockquote>Shirts must cover the midriff at all times. Shirts must reach the waistband of pants whether sitting or standing. Halter, tube tops, spaghetti strap shirts are NOT permitted. Tops must be wide enough to cover bra straps. Pants for boys and girls must fit at the waist so that your underwear does not show when you are sitting or standing. Logos on the back of pants or shorts are not permitted. Shorts and skirts must be at least the length of student’s fingertips when hands are dropped to the side.</blockquote>
The middle school website also <a href="https://www.pcam.org/schools/middle-school/">notes</a>, “We had the privilege of having the U.S. Honor Flag Network visit the Middle School on Wednesday, October 2nd.  They held a presentation that focused on America&#8217;s Heroes, Integrity, Patriotism, and sharing the U.S. Honor Flag.”
On September 24, a Computer Applications teacher at Watson B. Duncan Middle School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida gave students a quiz with a question in which students were asked which president, Donald Trump, Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon, or Jimmy Carter, was the “45th Pres; 2017; Republican; Real Estate businessman; Idiot.”
The teacher claimed she downloaded the quiz from Quizlet, and had not reviewed the question before making it part of the quiz, as <a href="https://www.wptv.com/news/region-n-palm-beach-county/palm-beach-gardens/palm-beach-gardens-teacher-didnt-create-controversial-quiz-question-about-president-trump-investigation-finds">WPTV reported</a>.
As <a href="https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/state/florida-teacher-didnt-create-controversial-quiz-question-about-president-trump-investigation-finds">ABC Action News</a> reported, the school&#8217;s principal sent a letter to parents that read:
<blockquote>Hello Duncan Middle School Parents, this is Principal Philip D&#8217;Amico. A question on a quiz given by your child&#8217;s Computer Applications teacher yesterday was brought to my attention this morning. The question was inappropriate and demonstrated an unacceptable lack of good judgment on the part of the teacher. An investigation is now underway, and the teacher has been reassigned during this process. Because this is an open inquiry, I am not at liberty to share any additional details with you at this point. I apologize for this incident, and for the offensive verbiage used in the question. Thank you for your patience, and your continued support of Watson B. Duncan Middle School.</blockquote>
The school district released this statement to to WPTV: &#8220;Despite the fact that the teacher didn&#8217;t write, or intentionally select the question, the District views this error as a display of unprofessional behavior. The School District of Palm Beach County holds our educators to the highest standards. The teacher has been disciplined.&#8221;

Andrew Klavan has a long-standing observation about the Left: &#8220;Everything they do turns out the opposite of what they say they intend,&#8221; and that extends to LGBTQ issues. In an effort to create &#8220;safety&#8221; for LGBTQ students, a Florida school district decided to force a male P.E. teacher to watch a female student change in a boys&#8217; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/38364/male-gym-teacher-punished-refusing-oversee-girl-amanda-prestigiacomo">locker room</a>, all under the guise of transgender rights. Klavan highlighted this &#8220;insane&#8221; story on Wednesday&#8217;s episode of &#8220;The Andrew Klavan Show.&#8221;
&#8220;It is hard to pick the most insane story of the year, in an insane political year like this one, but this has got to be close,&#8221; said Klavan.
Klavan cited a Federalist <a href="https://thefederalist.com/2018/11/14/florida-school-district-gags-p-e-teachers-telling-parents-girl-watching-naked-sons/">article</a> by Joy Pullmann describing a female-to-male student whose coach refused to watch her change in the locker room. As punishment, he was transferred to another school for not &#8220;fulfilling his duty.&#8221; Here&#8217;s an excerpt from Pullmann&#8217;s report:

A New Jersey public schools superintendent was given a generous heap of cash after leaving heaps of his own on school grounds. 
Thomas Tramaglini, 42, who has a salary of $147,504 a year, will be paid over $100,000 after his suspension in May for his full salary, two months of severance pay, and $23,827 in unused vacation days, <a href="https://www.nj.com/middlesex/index.ssf/2018/08/settlement_disgraced_pooper-intendent_unemployment.html">NJ.com</a> reports.
On May 1, Tramaglini was charged with defecating in public at the Holmdel High School football field and track <a href="https://nypost.com/2018/08/14/mystery-pooper-will-get-more-than-100k-from-school-district/">after weeks</a> of school staff discovering feces on the unusual suspect&#8217;s dumping ground. After security cameras were installed, it was revealed that the superintendent, Thomas Tramaglini, was the &#8220;serial pooper.&#8221;
The lewd pooper didn&#8217;t walk away with just toilet paper stuck to his shoe, he was suspended with pay. But now, not satisfied on his gold-plated porcelain throne, Tramaglini also decided to sue the local police department for one million dollars for causing emotional distress and harming his reputation by taking a mugshot of him and making it public.

The pooperintendent&#8217;s motive is still unknown.

Amid the heated discussion about school safety consuming the nation, a veteran teacher from Rome, Georgia, redirected the conversation from gun control to parenting in a moving viral post.
Amie DiPrima Brown detailed the quantifiable changes she&#8217;s personally witnessed in parents&#8217; level of engagement with their children&#8217;s academic life throughout her 15-year career in the classroom. Parents are becoming increasingly disengaged and are offering little help to teachers who might be able to help identify potentially problematic students. Without such identification, students cannot get the help they need and their classmates might be consequently victimized.
Brown initially penned the post in February, but it has since resurfaced in the aftermath of the Santa Fe High School shooting, last week.
&#8220;With all of the talk about guns in schools, why it&#8217;s happening, and how to solve the issue let me offer a little different perspective. I&#8217;ve been teaching since 2003. This marks my 15th year in the classroom. Everybody always talks about how schools have changed, and it&#8217;s true, they have,&#8221; begins Brown, adding that the changes, however, might not be the one most people are aware of.
The educator then explains how parents&#8217; participation in an &#8220;assignment&#8221; concerning their children has dramatically declined.
&#8220;Every year for 15 years I have sent home the same assignment on the first day of school. I send a letter home asking parents to tell me about their child in a million words or less. I go on to explain that I want to learn the child&#8217;s hopes, dreams, fears, challenges,&#8221; writes Brown. &#8220;These letters have been so beneficial to me as a teacher and getting to know my students on a personal level. I have learned about eating disorders, seizures, jealousy issues between twins, depression, adoption, abuse&#8230;just to name a few things. These letters give me a huge head start on getting to truly know my students. I often pull them out when a child has a sudden change in behavior or issue that comes up.&#8221;
Brown says the number of parents participating in the helpful assignment has gone from roughly 98% of parents to just 22% since her start in the classroom. She&#8217;s noticed a similar drop in students completely simple homework assignments, which she also linked to disengaged parents.

As I was putting the folders back in the file cabinet I noticed something. I know that the percentage of parents that complete this assignment each year has gotten lower and lower, but looking at the size of the folders shocked me. That first year I had 98% of the parents send back some type of letter on their child. This year&#8230; 22%. That&#8217;s a lot of opportunities lost for me to get to know students. Sadly, more parents have access to an electronic device that makes this task even easier and less time consuming.
On another note, this year&#8217;s average for homework turned in is riding at 67%. I&#8217;m talking a twice monthly 5 sentence summary of what the student is reading in their own time. I remind students daily, I send text messages through Remind, it&#8217;s on my website. The only other thing I could do is do it for them. Parents continue to let their child rack up zero after zero. But then again, that average used to be around 98% as well. It was rare for more than 1-2 students to not have their homework 15 years ago. Now, it&#8217;s just frustrating.

&#8220;With all of our other responsibilities in our profession, how are we supposed to get to know students so that we can identify the ones with the mentality and disposition to become a school shooter if parents are checking out of the academic process?&#8221; she asks. &#8220;How are we supposed to educate children when their parents don&#8217;t require, expect and demand their child complete their homework?&#8221;
Brown implores, &#8220;Don&#8217;t wait until your child is the school shooter to let us know your child is struggling mentally. Don&#8217;t wait until your child is ineligible for sports or the day before report cards to check grades and question the teacher on why your child is failing.&#8221;
&#8220;Be a parent,&#8221; she states. &#8220;Be involved in your child&#8217;s life so that you can help them through the issues with friends, the possible suicidal thoughts, and problems academically. I promise you, if parents spent more time with their children and got involved in their lives, we would see drastic improvements in our schools and our society.&#8221;
&#8220;As parents, our job is to grow the most amazing humans possible. It&#8217;s the most important job in the world. The education and emotional stability a parent provides is priceless,&#8221; she concludes.

A 32-year-old schoolteacher from Pennsylvania was shot and killed by a hail of bullets outside her mother&#8217;s home on Sunday night.
After leaving an ice cream shop, Rachael DelTondo went to her mother&#8217;s home where she was met by gunfire in the driveway, which took her life. &#8220;I counted six shots that I heard,&#8221; one neighbor, Fred Poore, <a href="http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2018/05/14/aliquippa-fatal-shooting-victim-confidential-information-leak/">told</a> KDKA-TV.
DelTondo&#8217;s death has been ruled a homicide by the Beaver County Coroner&#8217;s Office, but most other details surrounding the murder are still unknown.
The schoolteacher was suspended six months prior to the homicide for an inappropriate relationship with a teenage former student. <a href="https://www.theblaze.com/news/2018/05/15/teacher-caught-in-inappropriate-incident-with-teen-in-2016-dies-in-hail-of-gunfire?utm_content=bufferd2aac&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_source=twitter.com&amp;utm_campaign=theblaze">According</a> to The Blaze, DelTondo was suspended &#8220;after police reportedly discovered her in a vehicle with steamed-up windows in the wee hours of the morning&#8221; in February of 2016 with the 17-year-old.
A subsequent police report said Ms. DelTondo was in a &#8220;relationship&#8221; with the former student.
KDKA-TV reports that the confidential information concerning the relationship was leaked by Aliquippa police.
&#8220;DelTondo was reportedly not charged but did tell police that &#8216;she didn&#8217;t want her fiancé to know that she was here parked because he would get mad,'&#8221; notes The Blaze.
The 32-year-old called off her wedding in the months following the incident.
Aliquippa Police are unsure if the relationship had anything to do with the murder, reports KDKA-TV.
&#8220;Beautiful lady, friendly, knew everybody, talked to everybody,&#8221; said one grieving member of the community, Dan Casper. &#8220;I don&#8217;t know why that happened. I really don&#8217;t,&#8221; he added.
&#8220;Very, very nice girl,&#8221; added another neighbor, Philomena Rossi. &#8220;Prime of her life, and this is what happens.&#8221;

Teacher Suspended For Inappropriate &#8216;Relationship&#8217; With Teen Killed By Gunfire

The mainstream media gave a massive spotlight to the anti-gun March For Our Lives, which featured many of the student survivors of the recent shooting in Parkland, Florida. However, there is a group of students planning the Stand for the Second walkout, orchestrated to support the Bill of Rights on May 2nd of this year. 
I spoke with the organizer, a high school senior in New Mexico named Will Riley, about the planned event, its message, and the reaction from his school, the media, and his peers. 
Q: What gave you the idea to do this pro-Second Amendment walkout?
WR: The National Day of Action and March For Our Lives were student-led movements that obviously had a lot of help from gun control organizations and the media&#8217;s response was to call for more gun regulations while claiming that this is &#8220;for the kids.&#8221; But when I look around, I see hundreds of students who are signing up for our march who are not for gun control, especially when former Supreme Court Justice Stephens comes out and says we should just repeal the Second Amendment entirely. What the media is saying is a mischaracterization of my generation. 
The reason we&#8217;re doing it as walkout, the (March For Our Lives) students received that as a platform from their schools. It was totally condoned, across the country, if not, then outright encouraged, and our movement deserves to have the same platform. We need an equal playing field or it&#8217;s viewpoint discrimination. 
Q: Is there significance behind the date, May 2nd?
WR: We chose May the second, since our theme is &#8216;Stand for the Second.&#8217; I started this about a month ago and we originally wanted to do it in April, but we decided to shoot for May to help better organize it. 
Q: How has the school district reacted? Have they been supportive, neutral, or hostile?
WR: The new principal was a little hostile but it was more about the students doing another walkout than the stance we were taking. He&#8217;s thinking, &#8220;They just did a walkout and now they&#8217;re doing another walkout,&#8221; so I don&#8217;t think it was a political issue as it was keeping us from walking out of school everyday. 
But, I explained to him that this is just something that we want to have an equal playing field. We&#8217;re only asking for 16 minutes, one minute less than the National Day of Action had. 
We chose 16 minutes because it is estimated that 1.5 million people use a firearm to defend themselves; if you break it down with our 16 minutes, that&#8217;s 91 people using a gun in a responsible and correct way without hurting innocent people. 
And after I spoke with the principal, we worked out something that did not interfere with state testing or finals, they allowed it, and even said they would provide extra security to make sure all goes well. 
Q: How have your peers reacted? Have they been supportive?
WR: Yeah, they have been. Most of the ones I&#8217;ve talked to are happy about it. I think a lot of people have been thinking the same thing. That is, the March For Our Lives and the National Day of Action don&#8217;t represent us or our views. They wanted a place to express their views and they are happy to see this platform. 
Q: The March For Our Lives got a lot of press coverage, both local and national as well as support from local politicians. Have you received any positive or at least fair reporting from the local and national media? Have any politicians come out in support?
WR: There are a few state newspapers that have given us fair coverage. There are two local television networks that have given us fair coverage and have interviewed me in a fair way. At the national level, the Washington Examiner published my <a href="https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/op-eds/parklands-anti-gun-students-dont-speak-for-me-or-my-generation">op-ed</a> that I wrote for this, some conservative outlets have covered us, but not really anything else. 
As for as national organizations, the Tea Party Patriots are helping us get off the ground and stuff. 
Now to be clear, this is totally student-led, student-driven and the Tea Party Patriots are just helping us do things like help us get conference calls set-up to bounce ideas off each other and help us get an interactive map up. 
Outside of that, we don&#8217;t have quite the advantage that March For Our Lives had.
Q: If a student hears about what&#8217;s going on at your school, and wants to lead one on their campus, how can they can involved?
WR: A ton of people have already signed up. A majority of schools are outside of New Mexico and even outside the Southwest. We&#8217;ve gotten tremendous support and we&#8217;re in 300 schools right now in something like 40 states. If you look at our interactive map, there is a place to sign-up, the Tea Party Patriots provided a page on their website to help do that. You can link to that from our website; it&#8217;s all spelled out. 
Q: What would you say to a student who wants to get involved, but is afraid of pushback from the school district, teachers, parents, or their peers? 
WR: I would say this is an incredibly important issue and because it is the students who are being used in the arguments in this case, it is also incredibly important that we stand up now. Otherwise, there will be some horrible, unconstitutional action based on this myth that all of the students are supporting it. 
Around the country, the student organizers I&#8217;ve talked to, some have said, &#8220;I may be the only one who does this at my school. I live in an incredibly progressive area. I could get suspended.&#8221;
If that is what it is going to take for us to have our voices heard, then I would encourage you to do that. That is something that is heroic. 
Q: What do you want the message to be for this walkout?
WR: The message that we want to get out is that not everyone is on board with this shortsighted crusade against the Bill of Rights and the Second Amendment. I think there are still patriots coming up in the next generation and we&#8217;re trying to make sure that whenever it&#8217;s our turn to lead America, it&#8217;s going to be the America the founders intended and not some Orwellian nightmare created by destroying the Bill of Rights.

On Tuesday, ReasonTV uploaded a new video featuring John Stossel. The topic of the video was &#8220;armed teachers.&#8221;

What can be done about school shootings? Some say kids will be safer if some teachers carry guns. President Trump said that &#8230; Trump was mocked for suggesting teachers have guns &#8230; but Trump&#8217;s critics probably don&#8217;t even know that many teachers have brought guns to school for years. In Texas, teachers carry in about 200 schools. This high school advertises that.

At Keene Independent School District (ISD), the parents interviewed by Stossel appear to like the armed teachers program created by Superintendent Ricky Stephens.

STEPHENS: We know our staff and our teachers are gonna go. Do we want them to go with a pencil, or go with a pistol?
STOSSEL: The teachers have handguns against somebody with a big gun. That&#8217;s not much.
STEPHENS: It&#8217;s not much, but it&#8217;s better than nothing. If you go there with nothing, you have no chance of stopping anything.
STOSSEL: The police come, they see your teacher with a gun. How do you keep them from shooting her?
STEPHENS: We train a lot with our local law enforcement, so that helps us because we want them to know at least we&#8217;re there, and at least recognize us. If they happen to get shot while they&#8217;re stopping a tragedy, all of our guardians have said, you know, that&#8217;s just the price of being a guardian.

Stossel then spoke with an anonymous teacher, who said, &#8220;We have to have a fighting chance if something should happen at our school.&#8221; The armed teachers are anonymous so potential school shooters don&#8217;t know who is armed, and who&#8217;s not.
Then there&#8217;s the oft-repeated progressive critique that armed teachers create new dangers. Stossel cited one instance in California in which a teacher accidentally fired a gun into the ceiling, and some falling debris injured a student. However, he said, there are more recorded instances in which a teacher saved his/her students using firearms.
He also noted the distortions the media has made about Trump&#8217;s gun proposals.
As for Keene, Stephens said, &#8220;The school purchases a gun, and then we give them, and register them to our teachers.&#8221;
&#8220;That way,&#8221; Stossel said, &#8220;he can make sure all teachers have training in the same type of gun.&#8221;
Stossel concluded the video by going over perhaps the biggest myth related to school shootings &#8212; that they&#8217;re a growing epidemic. They&#8217;re not.

A married 35-year-old Oklahoma teacher has <a href="http://newsok.com/article/5590199">reportedly confessed</a> to taking a 15-year-old boy with her to a teacher&#8217;s protest at the state capitol and having sex with him before they picked up other students on the way and again after they dropped the students off on the way back.
On Saturday, Keri Hoffman and her husband drove to the Clinton Police Department, where she <a href="http://kfor.com/2018/04/09/oklahoma-middle-school-teacher-confesses-to-raping-student/">confessed</a> she had done more than that; she and the boy had sex repeatedly since March 30 inside her car and inside her father&#8217;s detached garage.
Oklahoma teachers <a href="https://www.aol.com/article/news/2018/04/09/oklahoma-teachers-strike-enters-second-week-with-rally-at-capitol/23406717/">started their strike</a> at the capitol last week; it is ongoing. They are protesting that the $44 million tax and revenue package passed last week did not offer enough to hike school spending.
Hoffman was charged Monday in Custer County District Court with two counts of second-degree rape, a count of facilitating sexual conduct with a minor by use of technology, and a count of pattern of criminal offenses, court records show.

Teacher Uses Walkout To Have Sex With Student

On Saturday, 16 Texas teachers used their day off to <a href="http://www.star-telegram.com/latest-news/article204723004.html">receive training</a> on how to shoot guns,
&#8220;We want to help,&#8221; said Tim Bulot, owner of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/swat.texas/">Strategic Weapons Academy of Texas</a> in Ennis, who offered the lessons for free in a class titled, &#8220;Defensive Pistol Training for Teachers.&#8221;
Bulot, a tactical sergeant with the Ellis County Sheriff&#8217;s Office, decided to offer the class after the massacre on Valentine&#8217;s Day in Parkland, Florida. He said, &#8220;This is the first time I&#8217;ve done anything like this; normally it&#8217;s police officers, SWAT teams, and then overseas contractors is what we train here. I wanted to bring teachers and law enforcement together, kind of bring them into our world because, now, we&#8217;re not the first one there on these active shooters: they are.&#8221; He added that politics was not discussed at the session, but discussing how the teachers might react in high-stress situation was. Bulot stated, &#8220;We taught them as much as we could. They learned a lot, but there is a lot more to learn.&#8221;
One teacher who was part of the group, Kim Raney, told <a href="http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2018/03/10/north-texas-teachers-gun-active-shooter-training/">CBS 11</a>, &#8220;We do our best to have security at our schools, but you never know what&#8217;s going to happen. And it&#8217;s better to be prepared than not prepared.&#8221;
Another teacher, Jeremie Parker, came to the training to honor his niece, who died in the Sandy Hook massacre in December 2012. He said, &#8220;Every day I think, you know, &#8216;What if?&#8217;&#8221;
Bulot said he wants to add an intermediate session for the teachers who came, as well as offer another introductory class. He said, &#8220;It just exploded. My inbox is jam-packed with emails from all over the place. They just want to learn.&#8221; He pointed out that one idea that was stressed was to let teachers find out whether carrying a weapon is a responsibility they want.

WATCH: 16 Texas Teachers Use Their Day Off To Get Gun Training

Last Thursday, a 7-year-old boy <a href="https://wsvn.com/news/local/miami-schoolboy-7-baker-acted-after-allegedly-punching-teacher/">was taken away in handcuffs</a> from a school by police after he allegedly repeatedly attacked a teacher. According to the police report, the boy at Coral Way K-8 Center in Miami was enraged after he was taken out of the school cafeteria for playing with his food; removed to the hallway where his female teacher was, he &#8220;attacked the teacher by repeatedly punching her on her back.&#8221; Even after he was restrained, he threw punches and kicks, causing them both to fall on the floor, but even then he fought her, &#8220;grabbing her hair and pulling it towards him&#8221; before he was finally restrained.
The child was taken to the principal&#8217;s office. His parents, Rolando Fuentes and Mercy Alvarez, said they came to the school and consulted with counselors, agreeing to a 10-day suspension for their son. They say that the female police officer told them she had to arrest their son or transport him for psychiatric evaluation. According to WSVN, the teacher told police she wanted to press charges.
Miami-Dade Schools Police Ian Moffett stated, &#8220;This action was warranted to prevent his erratic and violent behavior from bringing further harm to others or himself. The manner in which he was transported to the receiving facility was done in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.&#8221;
Public schools spokeswoman Jackie Calzadilla stated that the child &#8220;began behaving erratically and hit a teacher. Due to a great concern for the student and to ensure his safety and that of those around him, he was restricted according to the Baker Act and transported to the hospital to be evaluated.&#8221;
The boy was <a href="http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/article197039799.html">detained</a> under the provisions of the Florida Mental Health Act (Baker Act), which gives behavioral criteria to measure whether a child could pose a danger to themselves or their peers. He was hospitalized at the Nicklaus Children&#8217;s Hospital for a psychiatric evaluation, but discharged hours later.
The boy had been accused of kicking a teacher back in November; the school apparently thought it had resolved the issue.
Speaking to el Nuevo Herald, Alvares said, &#8220;This is police abuse; a whim of the officer, because my son was calm when they came to look for him. The principal, the counselor, and two other people tried to prevent that action and the officer took the child anyway.&#8221; She also said, &#8220;More than 30 mothers in Miami have written to me in solidarity because their children have done the same thing.&#8221;
Fuentes said, &#8220;We have to make justice.&#8221;

7-Year-Old Boy Handcuffed By Police After Allegedly Abusing Teacher

On Wednesday, a married 22-year-old teacher in Yukon, Oklahoma was arrested for allegedly having sex with a male teenage student.
Yukon High School science teacher Hunter Day was arrested on charges of second-degree rape, possession of child pornography, and facilitating sexual contact with a minor by the Canadian County Sheriff&#8217;s Department, <a href="http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/11/16/married-science-teacher-22-arrested-for-sex-romp-with-teen-boy-student.html">according</a> to Fox News.
The authorities were made aware of the alleged relationship after the student&#8217;s parents found explicit text messages and photos from Day in their son&#8217;s phone.
Day is said to be married to the school&#8217;s football coach.
According to reporting from local news station KWTV, Day was caught when officers posed as the boy via text message and told the teacher he had arrived at her house for their meet-up.
&#8220;The doors [sic] unlocked as usual,&#8221; the teacher responded via text.
&#8220;When investigators entered the home, Day was sitting on the floor of her living room with candles lit and all of the lights off, authorities said. She was also reportedly wearing a Christmas cat T-shirt and workout shorts,&#8221; reports Fox.
Day admitted to authorities that she had received photos of the boy&#8217;s genitals and that she has sent &#8220;bra and panty&#8221; photos to the minor.
&#8220;I&#8217;m no longer surprised by the people who commit these crimes, because predators come from all walks of life,&#8221; said Canadian County Sheriff Chris West.
&#8220;This is a classic case of a serious breach of public trust,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Schoolteachers are entrusted to protect and educate our children, not to engage in an unlawful sexual relationship with them.&#8221;
The official Twitter account for Yukon Public Schools released a statement on the disturbing matter on Thursday. &#8220;[T]he safety and well-being of our students is our number one priority,&#8221; read the statement.

Married School Teacher, 22, Arrested For Having Sex With Teen Student

A high school student from the Hudson Valley area in New York, who wishes to remain anonymous said he was challenged by his liberal creative writing teacher for being a Latino Trump supporter, and he captured most of the back-and-forth on video.
Within the heated political exchange, the liberal teacher perpetuated the notion of rampant anti-black racist police shootings in America, claimed she was &#8220;smarter&#8221; than the dictionary, suggested FBI statistics were bunk because the organization is &#8220;seeded&#8221; in white supremacy, and accused the Latino student of being a brainwashed &#8220;radical.&#8221;
Although the 12th grader cited statistics and facts, the teacher maintained her victimhood narrative and carried on the debate for what the student said was well over the ten minutes captured on camera.

Allyson Brittany Moran, 26, who <a href="http://heavy.com/news/2017/09/allyson-moran-staudenmaier-stockbridge-teacher-sex/">taught</a> <a href="http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/2017/09/14/ingham-county-teacher-charged-sexually-assaulting-student/667110001/">science and chemistry</a> at Stockbridge High School in Stockbridge, 70 miles west of Detroit, faces three felony counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a student and one misdemeanor count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct involving a student, according to the <a href="http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/story/news/2017/09/19/former-substitute-teacher-soccer-coach-allyson-moran-arraigned-sex-charges-involving-student/679591001/">Lansing State Journal. </a>She could be sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Moran is accused of having sex with the student twice at her home in Dansville. According to Stockbridge school officials, Moran worked at the district during the 2016-17 school year.
According to the <a href="http://herald-review.com/lifestyles/announcements/engagements/ryan-moran-and-allyson-staudenmaier/article_efa7647a-afa5-11e2-95dc-0019bb2963f4.html">Decatur Herald &amp; Review,</a> Moran married Ryan Moran on June 15, 2013; her maiden name was Staudenmaier. The Herald &amp; Review reported Moran was a student at Millikin University in Decatur when she was wed. She was allegedly a biology major.
Moran was arrested at a motel in Decatur on September 14 on a contempt of court charge.

High School Teacher Sends Nude Photos To Student. Then She Has Sex With Him.

On Tuesday, a female suburban Philadelphia science teacher and softball coach was arrested for having sex with a 16-year-old student.
Melissa Bonkoski, 38, a science teacher and softball coach at Owen J. Roberts High School, had been <a href="http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/local/High-School-Teacher-Owen-J-Robert-Bonkoski-Student-Sex-442143633.html">previously charged</a> with institutional sexual assault and inappropriate contact with the student after she had been accused of kissing and touching him back in March. But then, according to the district attorney&#8217;s office, the boy&#8217;s girlfriend discovered suspicious texts on his phone, which triggered an investigation.
The boy informed Chester County detectives that in 2015, when he was in Bonkoski&#8217;s freshman science class, they exchanged text messages about schoolwork, but that progressed to messages that became more personal.
Bonkoski told police she used a &#8220;burner&#8221; phone to text with the boy because she thought the texts would be untraceable, adding, &#8220;I thought I was being smart.&#8221;
Police detectives <a href="http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2017/08/29/former-chester-county-teacher-charged-with-having-sex-with-student/">said</a> Bonkoski would drive the boy from work; they allegedly had &#8220;make-out&#8221; sessions in her car. The boy said he was afraid that if he stopped the sessions he would lose his ride. Bonkoski allegedly invited the boy home and offered to perform oral sex on him, leading them to have sex, according to court documents.
The boy said he tried to break off the relationship but Bonkoski kept texting him; those were the messages found by the boy&#8217;s girlfriend.
District Attorney Tom Hogan said, &#8220;Rule No. 1 if you are a teacher or a coach, do not have sex with a student. Breaking this rule is a one-way ticket to arrest, losing your job, and prison.&#8221;
Bonkowski resigned after the investigation was underway; she posted bond Tuesday after being arraigned on 12 felony counts.

38-Year-Old Teacher Has Sex With 16-Year-Old Boy. Then His Girlfriend Found Out.

The same elite Brentwood, California private school whose alumni include Adam Levine, Jonah Hill, and Fred Savage and<a href="https://www.bwscampus.com/"> charges</a> $40,760 a year for tuition has added a new wrinkle; a 45-year-old female teacher who allegedly had sex with a 16-year-old student.
Dr. Aimee Palmitessa, a chemistry teacher at the K-12 Brentwood School, was taken into custody on Friday and booked on suspicion of statutory rape, according to <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/news/teacher-elite-l-private-school-162257762.html">PEOPLE</a>. Palmitessa had taught at the school since September 2010.
According to <a href="http://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2017/08/20/brentwood-teacher-accused-having-sex-with-teen/">CBS Los Angeles</a>, the alleged affair took place on the school campus. <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4806852/Teacher-arrested-Brentwood-school-sex-student.html">The Daily Mail</a> reported that Palmitessa was arrested last April in Indio, California, for allegedly being in possession of MDMA aka ecstasy.
Palmitessa, a former Penn State Abington professor, obtained a B.S. in Biology from Syracuse University in 1993 and a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Thomas Jefferson University in 2005.
Palmitessa had noted in the campus publication, Blue Toad, &#8220;I am just consistently amazed at the intricacies of life as we know it and how it all depends on chemistry. &#8230; I finally decided to try and do something that combined my interests and got me away from staring into a microscope for 10 hours a day, seven days a week. &#8230; The campus is beautiful, the faculty are wonderful and the students are motivated and intelligent. It&#8217;s a pleasure to be a part of the Brentwood community.&#8221;
A mother of a student at the school told PEOPLE, &#8220;It&#8217;s all anyone can talk about. It&#8217;s really shocking. We paid a lot of money to make sure that our kids wouldn&#8217;t be exposed to this type of thing. It&#8217;s sad that it could happen here, because Brentwood is a really good school and I hate that this scandal will be attached to the school from now on.&#8221;

Swanky CA School For Stars Now Has New Wrinkle: Female Chemistry Teacher Who Seduces 16-Year-Old

An investigation has revealed that former Bristol physics teacher Eleanor Wilson had sex with a 16-year-old male student in an airplane bathroom during a school trip to Africa for charity. During the two-week trip, the two reportedly drank cheap whiskey and engaged in both oral sex and intercourse.
The student, then 16, and Wilson, then 26, were traveling together with a group of high school students in the summer of 2015 for reasons of charity, staying at a &#8220;Neighbourhood Care Point, which supported orphans of parents who had died of HIV, helping to build a kitchen for them,&#8221; as <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4752470/Father-boy-16-sex-teacher-didn-t-want-sacked.html">noted</a> by The Daily Mail.

But there was more than just charity on the mind of Wilson.
The former teacher ended up in the student&#8217;s room, kissed him &#8220;multiple times,&#8221; and then had unprotected sex in an airplane bathroom on the trip home after sucking back some mini bottles of wine.
A friend of the student said of the 16-year-old: &#8220;He enjoyed telling me all about his time in Swaziland as you could go to a store and buy whisky for next to nothing. He said they had sex a lot on the trip to Africa and on the flight back.&#8221;
&#8220;He was pleased with himself that he was sleeping with the teacher that everyone fancied,&#8221; added the friend, &#8220;but he is confident and was already quite experienced with girls.&#8221;
Wilson, according to the friend, would sext and text message the boy frequently.
&#8220;She would send him texts and he showed me the messages from her,&#8221; claimed the friend. &#8220;He would text her and she would reply, &#8216;Can&#8217;t talk now, I&#8217;m in a meeting&#8217; or &#8216;I&#8217;m nervous about a presentation for assembly&#8217;. She would sext him too and he showed me. I knew immediately they were genuine.&#8221;
Rumors began to fly after the charity trip and school officials looked into a possible inappropriate relationship between Wilson and the 16-year-old in September of 2015, but no evidence was found to refute their denials.
Then, in March of 2016, the sexual misconduct surfaced after another male student allegedly tried to blackmail Wilson with evidence of their relationship for sex from the teacher. &#8220;The threats were reported to the school and police and a thorough investigation was conducted. Miss Wilson, who had a boyfriend at the time, was sacked in May 2016,&#8221; reports The Daily Mail. 
After a hearing was conducted, Wilson was found guilty of all allegations against her, save two.
&#8220;There was evidence that the teacher&#8217;s actions were deliberate and continued for a significant length of time despite her understanding that her behaviour was inappropriate,&#8221; said Polly O&#8217;Malley, chairman of the professional conduct panel.
&#8220;There was no evidence to suggest that the teacher was acting under duress,&#8221; she said.
&#8220;These behaviours include serious dishonesty and serious sexual misconduct. The panel has found that Miss Wilson engaged in sexual activity with Pupil A on one occasion, including oral sex and sexual intercourse,&#8221; continued O&#8217;Malley.
&#8220;Additionally the panel has found that Miss Wilson encouraged Pupil A to hide their relationship and lied about it herself when an investigation into the allegations was undertaken by the school,&#8221; she added.
Since Wilson was cut-off from her position, the boy&#8217;s father has come forward to give his son&#8217;s take, which includes regret that his teacher was fired.
&#8220;What I will say is he [the boy] didn&#8217;t want any of this,&#8221; he said.
&#8220;He didn&#8217;t want her to lose her job over it. The relationship was only uncovered when another pupil found out about it and blackmailed her for sex,&#8221; explained the father.
&#8220;He then told the school and from there it was the school who pursued the investigation, not my son,&#8221; he added. &#8220;He didn&#8217;t want her to lose her career. He&#8217;s a young man who just wants to put this behind him and move on.&#8221;
A spokesman for the unidentified school in Bristol came forward to &#8220;condemn Ms Wilson&#8217;s actions. Her conduct represents a shocking abuse of her position of trust as a teacher,&#8221; said the spokesman.
According to The Daily Mail, &#8220;Wilson was reported to the police, however it is not known whether officers had taken any action against her.&#8221;

Teacher Has Sex With 16-Year-Old Male Student In Airplane Bathroom On School Trip For Charity

On Monday, a former Nebraska teacher who was married and accused of having sex with a student on his 16th birthday was <a href="http://www.wowt.com/content/news/Teacher-sentencing-Monday-in-sex-charge-434932523.html">sentenced</a> to 90 days in jail and two years probation.
Emily Lofing, a former language arts teacher at Nebraska City Middle School in Weeping Water, Nebraska, who was <a href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/4045993/married-female-teacher-27-arranged-birthday-sex-with-her-male-pupil-16-after-bible-school/">married</a> in 2014, could serve one year in jail but with good behavior she could be released in 53 days.
Lofing&#8217;s attorney had argued, &#8220;For lack of a better terms, in her life, poof &#8211; she had a mental breakdown. She makes an incredibly horrible decision.&#8221; She also stated:

That&#8217;s the tragedy of mental illness. It doesn&#8217;t know demographics. It doesn&#8217;t know race. It doesn&#8217;t know age. It doesn&#8217;t know education, and, when mental illness strikes, it can sometimes do so without any warning. I would characterize it as, your honor, and I think the letters of support also entail that. They speak to a period of time when Ms. Lofing was living a double life. People who have known her for her whole entire life were shocked at this type of behavior.&#8221;

But Deputy Otoe County Attorney John Palmtag <a href="http://kwbe.com/featured-news/lofing-described-as-living-a-double-life-in-student-sex-scandal/">countered</a>, &#8220;I would urge the court in this matter to send a strong message to the defendant and send a message to the people of the state that we as a society won&#8217;t tolerate these sort of actions by our teachers in the classrooms. We won&#8217;t tolerate predatory acts among students.&#8221;
Otoe County Court Judge John Steinheider noted that if Lofing had slept with the student one day earlier, she would have been in even bigger trouble, as he said, &#8220;This alleged indiscretion, I&#8217;ll say, took place on the victim&#8217;s 16th birthday. You were less than 24 hours from a felony here.&#8221; He added, &#8220;You send kids to school, to day care, to Bible school &#8230; and you expect them to be treated with respect and be in safe places and you took that away from at least the victim in this instance.&#8221;
According to Nebraska law, a 16-year-old can consent to sex.
Lofing&#8217;s case was classified as a misdemeanor case of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Meanwhile, the Nebraska Unicameral is considering a bill that would make it illegal for teachers or anyone in a position of authority to have sex with 16 and 17 year-olds.

Nebraska Teacher Sentenced After Sex With Student On His 16th Birthday

A 43-year-old Canadian Catholic elementary school teacher admitted to having sexual relations with a teenage student she befriended at age 13. The affair was exposed when the boy&#8217;s mother found naked photos of the teacher on the victim&#8217;s phone.
Last month, Christina Albini plead guilty to &#8220;sexual interference, touching the body of a person under 16 years old for a sexual purpose,&#8221; <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4646922/Catholic-teacher-quickie-sex-teenage-pupil.html">reports</a> The Daily Mail. The now-fired teacher will spend one year behind bars, register as a sex offender for 20 years, and provide her DNA per an Ontario court ruling.

Albini was teaching at Georgetown&#8217;s Christ the King Catholic school when she befriended the 13-year-old boy, whom she later had sexual intercourse with. The teacher reportedly bought the student gifts, including an Xbox, clothing, a bracelet, and a cellphone, which was used for the teacher to send the teen dirty messages and explicit photos of herself after yoga. The teacher used her secondary phone to exchange such messages with the boy. 
&#8220;Albini would pick him up in her purple Dodge Challenger and then take him back to her South Windsor home for sex,&#8221; notes The Daily Mail. 
According to prosecutor Eric Costaris, Albini promised the boy she&#8217;d &#8220;be quick and have him back before his mother gets home.&#8221; 
In July of 2016, soon after the boy&#8217;s mother found the cellphone and the incriminating evidence, Albini was arrested.

&#8220;I apologize to all of my supporters. I want to apologize to the public, my co-workers, teachers,&#8221; the guilty teacher said in court on Tuesday. 
&#8220;She&#8217;s frightened to go to jail. But it&#8217;s the type of crime that the government insisted that it&#8217;s serious enough that people have to go to jail and she accepts that,&#8221; said Patrick Ducharme, Albini&#8217;s lawyer. 
A spokesman for Albini&#8217;s former school board confirmed the teacher is no longer an employee of the district. 
The 43-year-old will face three years probation following her release from prison and will be barred from contacting the student and his family. 
&#8220;Charges of possession of child pornography, accessing child pornography and making sexually explicit material available to a person under 16 based on photos found on a cell phone were dropped,&#8221; notes The Daily Mail.
