There is a whole genre of media and marketing dedicated to hating on Valentine’s Day.
To some, the holiday is too corporate, too cliché, too pastel pink. To others, it’s way too focused on love, a subject that has simply become passé. Forget the dozen red roses, the cheap chocolates, and the polyester teddy bears. The primary object of today’s Valentine’s Day angst is no longer how the celebration of love has been consumed by corporations. It’s that a day to commemorate romance exists at all. 
Take Target’s <a href="https://x.com/LisaBritton/status/2009427614339912093">viral</a> man-hating sweater. For $30, you can go out today to purchase a crewneck in the cutesy pink and red hues of Valentine’s Day with a message sure to pour cold water on any romantic overtures: “Dump Him.” If that isn’t your style, you can always <a href="https://www.target.com/p/women-s-emotionally-unavailable-crewneck-pullover-sweater-wild-fable-blue-quote/-/A-95218608">snag</a> “Emotionally Unavailable.”
When paparazzi <a href="https://fashionmagazine.com/style/celebrity-style/britney-spears-baby-tee/">caught</a> Britney Spears wearing a “Dump Him” t-shirt in 2002, she and Justin Timberlake had just broken up. Considering that she later <a href="https://people.com/britney-spears-justin-timberlake-pregnancy-abortion-exclusive-8362622">claimed</a> his disinterest in being a father led to her choice to have an abortion, she may have had good reason to be bitter. But today, the directive to “dump him” feels less like a tongue-in-cheek callback to the era of “girl power” feminism and more like a gender wars-inspired imperative. It was just a few months ago, after all, that &#8220;Vogue&#8221; ran an <a href="https://www.vogue.com/article/is-having-a-boyfriend-embarrassing-now">article</a> with the headline, “Is Having a Boyfriend Embarrassing Now?”
Imagine the pandemonium if the genders were swapped. If the Target men’s section were marketing a “Dump Her” sweater, yet another <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/targets-dei-drama-costs-big-as-boycotts-impact-sales">boycott</a> would be taking place. Women’s magazines would throw a fit. And Andrew Tate would buy up the whole stock. 
It may seem like Target is engaging in a nefarious plot to thwart women’s dating chances and keep them single. But Target, like other organizations, is just responding to the market. As the &#8220;Vogue&#8221; contributor says, “Even partnered women will lament men and heterosexuality — partly in solidarity with other women, but also because it is now fundamentally uncool to be a boyfriend-girl.”
Skepticism about men and relationships is everywhere. Zoos and animal shelters have lately made it a habit of soliciting donations around Valentine’s Day by offering to name <a href="https://sazoo.org/crymeacockroach/">cockroaches</a> or <a href="https://people.com/animal-charity-offers-to-neuter-your-ex-ahead-of-valentines-day-in-viral-post-11900397">neutered cats</a> after ex-lovers. The internet seems to take it as a <a href="https://gizmodo.com/facebook-thinks-saying-men-are-trash-is-hate-speech-1795170688">truism</a> that “men are trash.” Disney princesses now find themselves, not romantic partners. One of pop star Sabrina Carpenter’s top songs is “Manchild,” a song about, well, you can guess. “If I&#8217;m not there it won&#8217;t get done,” she sings in one line. “I choose to blame your mom.”
The message is: as a woman, being happy with a man is something for which you probably ought to apologize. “This sweater is cute, idk why you guys are hating on it,” says one online review of the “Dump Him” jumper. “I’m in a happy relationship with my boyfriend of 3+ years &amp; find it adorable!! If it resonates, it resonates, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t, so be it.”
For perspective, I texted a photo of the sweater to my grandmother, who has been married for over 70 years. &#8220;Don&#8217;t like it!&#8221; she said. &#8220;I wouldn&#8217;t wear it! Or buy it!&#8221;
Fans of the sweater say they see it as a reference to men who are toxic or abusive, but there are no such caveats in the cotton. It reads as public, performative disdain, the kind that other women are meant to giggle at and men are meant to applaud in order to prove themselves. 
St. Valentine, who is said to have <a href="https://www.history.com/articles/st-valentine-death">sacrificed</a> his life in the third century to marry couples when the emperor wanted men to stay single to focus on war, might not be too pleased to hear about this.
All this anti-love messaging is coming at a time when Gen Z seems to have little interest in dating, anyway. Pew Research Center <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2023/02/08/for-valentines-day-5-facts-about-single-americans/">reported</a> in 2023 that “roughly six-in-ten young men report being single.” So there likely isn’t even a “him” to dump.
With marriage and romance losing their cultural clout, gender relations were already unraveling when Target decided to profit off the chaos. What we need is a return to mutual respect — and maybe a little Valentine’s Day cheesiness — to stitch them back together.

Activists even went to Target headquarters in Minneapolis on Monday and called out its new CEO, Michael Fiddelke, who officially stepped into the top job on Sunday.

Lawmakers on Capitol Hill have been working frantically to end the government shutdown before its effects are felt. President Donald Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-seeks-quick-end-to-shutdown-no-changes">says</a> he wants to move forward with the federal government spending package without any changes, as the government has remained shut down since last weekend. He wrote on Truth Social, quote: “There can be NO CHANGES at this time.” The president says that he wants the bill to be signed into law right away, and that he’s “working hard with Speaker Mike Johnson.”
<h2 style="text-align: center;">Outrage Over Nashville Storm Failures</h2>
The response to the crippling power outages from Winter Storm Fern has frustrated many communities across the country – including here in the Nashville area. It’s been more than a week, and more than 20,000 residents are still without power in the Music City in a situation declared “unacceptable.” The Nashville power outage fiasco has made national news as Reese Witherspoon, John Rich, and other celebrities have spoken out about their Tennessee neighbors living in the dark. The Nashville Electric Service’s lack of preparation is <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nashville-electric-ceo-touted-tree-hugging-over-aggressive-trimming-months-before-massive-ice-storm" target="_blank" rel="noopener">most frustrating</a> to residents. Last summer, the CEO, Teresa Boyles-Aplin, focused on saving Nashville&#8217;s tree canopy instead of cutting down the trees that clearly were overtaking power lines. Target is being raked across the coals following a botched Black Friday giveaway that was overhyped and underwhelming.
The retailer attempted to lure shoppers into the store ahead of the biggest shopping day of the year by promising the first 100 people in line early Friday morning “a limited edition iridescent holiday tote filled with fun giveaways.” In addition, ten randomly selected people at each store could win grand prizes including a Laifen hair dryer, a Ninja slushie machine, Beats headphones, and a $100 Target gift card, among other items.
People started posting on social media about being camped out overnight in the freezing cold despite the rules clearly stating that no one was allowed to line up until 4 a.m. at the earliest. After the event, many customers complained about poor enforcement for line jumpers.
But in the end, it didn’t matter much because almost everyone expressed their frustration at the contents of the swag bags. The oversized tote wasn’t “stuffed” – instead, it had a few cheap items that inspired most recipients to deem the entire thing a waste of time and energy.
Most photos posted by shoppers who scored the giveaway showed similar contents, including a pack of UNO cards, a miniature Gemz shampoo package, a small bag of Nerds candy, an Elf cosmetic product, and a variety pack of LMNT electrolyte water supplements. The small items looked tiny in the oversized tote bag.
There was a plethora of negative comments, video reactions, and spoof videos across all social media platforms.
“Thanks @Target for the most pathetic black friday swag bag imaginable,” one X user wrote alongside a photo of the giveaway items.

Black Friday shoppers had praise for a different retailer handing out swag bags, saying the giveaway at Lowe’s put Target to shame. The home improvement retailer handed out swag to the first 50 customers in line at their stores, and the offerings were much more substantial.
Those customers received a five-gallon bucket filled with various building and home improvement items including a drill bit set, a bucket-shaped coffee mug, Magic Erasers, WD-40, and a keychain. Several lucky shoppers also received a &#8220;golden ticket&#8221; with a coupon for a free appliance worth up to $2,000.
Target did not immediately return The Daily Wire&#8217;s request for comment.

Beginning February 1, 2026, Michael Fiddelke, a 20-year company employee, will assume the top role, as Target flounders amidst slipping profits, stubborn boycotts, and growing public distrust.
Sales <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/dougmelville/2025/08/20/as-target-names-new-ceo-stock-tumbles-10-as-dei-hit-and-tariffs-drag-on-sales/">dipped</a> 1% in the most recent quarter, and profits fell 19%. While the retailer mostly blamed some of the economic woes on uncertainty about Trump&#8217;s tariffs, the reality is that consumers on both ends of the political spectrum are turning away, leaving a once-beloved brand caught between an ideological rock and a hard place.

Target CEO Brian Cornell is stepping down next year after serving in the role for 10 years. The move comes as Target faces declining sales and a controversial public image, with boycotts coming from both sides of the political aisle.  
The Minneapolis-based company is passing the baton to chief operating officer Michael Fiddelke, who was selected in a unanimous board of directors vote, per an <a href="https://corporate.target.com/press/release/2025/08/target-appoints-michael-fiddelke-as-chief-executive-officer">announcement</a> made on Wednesday. Fiddelke, a 20-year veteran of the company, will take over beginning February 1, 2026.
“It is clear that Michael is the right leader to return Target to growth, refocus and accelerate the company’s strategy, and reestablish Target’s position as a leader in the highly dynamic and fast-moving retail environment,” Christine Leahy, lead independent director of Target’s Board of Directors, said.
Cornell had previously committed in 2022 to serve for three more years as CEO. He will now be the executive chair of the company&#8217;s board of directors. 
Sales were down 1% in the latest quarter compared to one year ago, the New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/08/20/business/target-ceo-brian-cornell-steps-down-after-10-years-as-retailer-fights-to-reverse-sliding-sales/">noted</a>, with a reported $25.2 billion total. This trend was blamed on a reduction in total merchandise offered. Profit for the quarter was $1.3 billion, which is a reduction of 19% compared to last year, according to the Post. 
The company blamed some of its financial woes on the economic uncertainties surrounding Trump’s tariff plan.
Earlier this year, Target announced it was rolling back its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, following suit with other companies and retailers amid the changing political landscape. This pivot served to anger liberal activist groups, who called for <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2025/jul/20/black-americans-boycot-target-amazon-dei">boycotts</a>. RetailBrew <a href="https://www.retailbrew.com/stories/2025/08/18/target-s-revenues-track-closely-to-foot-traffic-q2-foot-traffic-is-down-3-1">reported</a> that these boycotts appeared to be working as foot traffic was down 3.1% in Q2.
In May, Cornell blamed the lackluster first-quarter sales in part on the company changes related to DEI. 
He <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/05/21/target-tgt-q1-2025-earnings.html">said</a> the numbers declined due to “ongoing pressure in our discretionary business, plus five consecutive months of declining consumer confidence, tariff uncertainty, and the reaction to the updates we shared on belonging in January.” 
Despite making these changes, some conservatives are still boycotting Target for its past pride campaigns <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-to-offer-pride-merchandise-in-fewer-stores-after-backlash-against-tuck-friendly-swimsuit-sale-last-year">aimed at children</a>, saying the retailer’s policy changes were too little, too late.

There’s a popular meme that makes the rounds around this time each year.
It shows a dam towering over a tranquil city. Behind the structure lies a burgeoning, rainbow-colored sludge on the verge of breaking through and flooding the inhabitants below. Inscribed on the dam’s face is a date: “May 31st.”
It’s funny because it’s true. Or at least, it used to be.
Rainbow paraphernalia, which was once visible only in a few metropolitan neighborhoods, has been taking over our common and commercial spaces — not to mention our schools — during the month of June for years.
Fortune 500 companies changed their logos (at least <a href="https://www.indy100.com/identities/pride-logo-middle-east-us" target="_blank" rel="noopener">in the West</a>), stores set up expansive Pride displays and sold Pride-branded merchandise, including, infamously, Target’s selection of <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/05/19/targets-tuck-friendly-swimwear-for-kids-sparks-controversy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">transgender swimsuits for children</a>. City, state, and federal agencies hoisted the rainbow flag next to the American flag, and traditional and social media pumped out images and videos celebrating everything LGBTQ.
But something’s different this year. Many of the businesses and institutions that used to radiate rainbows every June look a lot like they did last month and the month before that. They appear normal, as if their primary purpose were to provide services and sell products, not to advance a political ideology.
To be sure, some progressive enclaves are still festooned with Pride trappings, and there remains dribs and drabs of rainbow propaganda out there elsewhere, but much of it looks half-hearted at best. Pride parades have been <a href="https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/boise-pride-cancels-june-kickoff-event-due-to-low-attendance-despite-strong-online-support-idaho/277-85507887-f32c-4bae-ae4b-366f10d9eda3" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cancelled</a> due to low projected attendance, and government buildings that used to fly the rainbow flag have stopped doing so — <a href="https://www.sanluisobispo.com/news/local/article306353226.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">even in California</a>.
What changed? For one, there’s a new president, and he’s busy gutting “trans rights” by <a href="https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/trump-sign-executive-order-banning-transgender-athletes-womens/story?id=118468478" target="_blank" rel="noopener">prohibiting men</a> from usurping women’s sports and <a href="https://www.npr.org/2025/01/29/nx-s1-5279092/trump-executive-order-gender-affirming-care" target="_blank" rel="noopener">putting a stop</a> to the poisoning and mutilation of children under the Orwellian misnomer “gender affirming care.”
That’s a mighty blow to the “T” and “Q” in the “LGBTQ” coalition. To be fair, there are elements within the gay community that want nothing to do with the “T’s” and “Q’s.” However, it’s not clear that they can separate amicably or coherently. If the claim is that our sexual desires should have no normative connection to the reality of our physical bodies — which every letter in the rainbow acronym affirms — then embracing “LGB” necessarily opens the door to the “T’s” and Q’s” by relativizing the objective meaning and purpose of the body itself.
So, taking on transgenderism at the political level will necessarily weaken Pride ideology as a whole. And for now, the administration has the upper hand.
Second, corporations have grown skittish of boycotts after Bud Light’s disastrous promotion of the woman-larping man, Dylan Mulvaney. This one’s pretty simple: Bud Light used to be America’s best-selling beer. <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/money/2024/07/18/bud-light-beer-sales-ranking-boycott/74463050007/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">It isn’t anymore</a>.
More broadly, conservative activists like The Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, Christopher Rufo, Robby Starbuck, and others, have clarified the cost-benefit calculus for C-suites by putting a steep price on supporting Pride. It turns out that endorsing a radical fringe group that is big online but small in purchasing power while alienating half the country doesn’t make much fiscal sense.
Third, and relatedly, there’s been a palpable cultural shift as the masses have grown tired of the rainbow brigade’s garish frills, manufactured enthusiasm, coercive fanfare (Celebrate!&#8211;or else), and infantile tautologies (“Love is love”).
Initially startled and disoriented by the explosion of Pride into every nook and cranny of society, many have now had the time to step back and ask, “What, exactly, are we celebrating here?”
Bearded men dressed up like clownishly risque women gyrating in front of toddlers at drag queen story hours? Pornographic books in elementary schools? Boys taking over girls&#8217;sports? Young men and women permanently maiming themselves with genital inversion surgery?
Why in the world, normal people are asking, is any of this laudatory, let alone permissible?
The rainbow flag used to come with the cry, “We just want to be left alone.” The majority found those terms acceptable. There was a truce in the culture wars, at least on that front. But then Pride, consistent with its name, got arrogant and greedy and let its true colors show.
It turns out that all those LGBTQ parades, protests, workplace trainings, and school curricula were never about tolerance, or love, or protecting the vulnerable. Rather, their goal was to gain cultural and political supremacy and to silence anyone who stood in the way.
Aptly represented by its <a href="https://www.hrc.org/resources/lgbtq-pride-flags" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ever-more-chaotic</a> symbol, rainbow ideology is and always has been a twisted kaleidoscope of totalitarian perversion. Thankfully, many are waking up and pushing back.

“Pride Month” is just around the corner *sigh* — but under the second Trump administration and after the recent backlash to woke companies, questions swirl around how crazy June will get this year. And there’s a hope that maybe — just maybe — the rainbow weirdness won’t show up everywhere you turn your head. 
Multiple large companies have pulled out of annual “Pride” parades that take place in cities across the country. Mastercard, Citi, Pepsi, and Nissan will not sponsor the parade in New York City this year. Meanwhile, Anheuser-Busch and Comcast ended their sponsorship of the San Francisco “Pride” parade, Axios <a href="https://www.axios.com/2025/05/08/pride-month-sponsorship-decline-2025">reported</a>. 
It appears that LGBT celebrations could be tamed down this June, at least on the corporate side of things, but here are some companies that could still push the “Pride” messaging:
<h3>Harry’s</h3>
Last year, Harry’s — the razor company whose defense of gender insanity sparked the launch of Jeremy’s Razors — <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/harrys-sends-another-bag-of-cash-to-group-promoting-radical-gender-theory">sent</a> a bag of cash to the Trevor Project, an activist organization that has been blasted for running a <a href="https://www.trevorspace.org/">chat room</a> where minors can talk to peers and adults about their sexuality. 
“Pride Month may be coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean the work stops here. We believe it’s important to support the LGBTQ+ community and take care of ourselves every day, which is why we partner with The Trevor Project all year round,” Harry’s <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/C82E5umtRAB/">said</a> in June 2024. 
In prior years, Harry’s has <a href="https://www.wallpaper.com/beauty-grooming/harrys-new-digital-platform-celebrates-pride">unveiled</a> special edition “Pride” shaving sets.
All signs point toward another colorful June for Harry’s. You’ve been warned. 
<h3>Apple</h3>
It’s not even June, and the California-based tech company has already jumped into the “Pride” festivities, introducing its “Pride Collection” earlier this month. 
“Ahead of Pride Month, Apple is introducing a new Apple Watch Pride Edition Sport Band, watch face, and iPhone and iPad wallpaper to celebrate the strength and beauty of LGBTQ+ communities around the world,” Apple <a href="https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2025/05/apple-introduces-the-2025-pride-collection/">said</a>. 
Apple also sent out free “<a href="https://www.vice.com/en/article/apples-new-2025-edition-pride-wallpapers-arrive-today/">Pride Month Wallpapers</a>” to its users, allowing them to wrap their phone displays in the colors of the “Pride Flag.” 
<h3>Nike</h3>
In 2024, Nike scaled back its “Pride” month push for the first time in years as companies faced backlash over their woke talking points. The company has long pushed its “Be True” collection during “Pride Month,” but paused it in 2024. 
&#8220;While there is no global Be True product collection for 2024, Nike remains deeply committed to this work,&#8221; the apparel company <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/pride-month-campaigns-2024-major-brands-scaled-back-why-that-matters/">stated</a>. 
Will Nike revert to its old woke ways and push its “Pride” promotion this year? It appears that Nike is already doing that. The company recently <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/lifestyle/shopping/nike-pride-shoes-2025-by-courtney-vandersloot-allie-quigley-1236231305/">released</a> “Pride-inspired” shoes in collaboration with the WNBA lesbian couple, Courtney Vandersloot and Allie Quigley. 
<h3>Procter &amp; Gamble</h3>
The parent company of popular personal care brands such as Gillette, Head &amp; Shoulders, and Old Spice, wasn’t quiet about its support for LGBT issues last year. In June 2024, P&amp;G <a href="https://us.pg.com/blogs/pride-month/">called</a> “Pride Month” a “culmination of our unwavering commitment to create an inclusive environment where anyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can forge a meaningful career.”
Last year, P&amp;G <a href="https://us.pg.com/blogs/pride-month/">celebrated</a> “the 30th anniversary of GABLE, P&amp;G’s LGBTQ+ global employee resource group, spanning over 50 countries with 5,000 LGBTQ+ and ally members worldwide.” The company <a href="https://us.pg.com/blogs/pride-month/">runs</a> a huge “programming effort” called “Can’t Cancel Pride,” which P&amp;G says provides “much needed visibility and funding for six LGBTQ+ organizations to continue their transformative work of supporting the LGBTQ+ community.” Among the organizations recognized by P&amp;G in 2024 were the leftist groups GLAAD and the Trevor Project. 
<h3>Target</h3>
A lot of questions are swirling around Target, which has been at the forefront of the DEI pushback. In 2023, Target was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-to-offer-pride-merchandise-in-fewer-stores-after-backlash-against-tuck-friendly-swimsuit-sale-last-year">blasted</a> for offering “tuck-friendly” female swimsuits, which led to boycotts and sinking sales. After the backlash, Target scaled back its “Pride” displays in June 2024, only offering “Pride” merchandise at a limited number of stores. Then, earlier this year, Target <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-rolls-back-dei-joining-other-major-companies-like-walmart-meta">announced</a> that it was rolling back some of its DEI initiatives, which included focusing investments in black-owned businesses. Now, Target will no longer focus on diversity when choosing suppliers.
The company is now taking flak from the Left over its decision to dial it back on the woke messaging. So will Target jump back into the thick of “Pride” month this year? We’ll have to find out.

Target CEO Brian Cornell said on Tuesday that President Donald Trump&#8217;s tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China &#8220;will likely&#8221; lead to price increases at his company&#8217;s stores as soon as this week.
His remarks come after Trump’s 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada went into effect on Tuesday, as did his 10% tariff on China, which was added to a levy imposed a month ago, The Wall Street Journal <a href="https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/trump-tariffs-canada-mexico-china-stock-market-today-03-04-2025">reported</a>.
&#8220;The consumer will likely see price increases over the next couple of days,&#8221; he told CNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Squawk Box&#8221; while discussing consumer confidence. &#8220;Those are really short supply chains. You think about all the fresh produce. We depend on Mexico during the winter. We&#8217;re going to try to make sure we can do everything we can to protect pricing. But if there&#8217;s a 25% tariff, those prices will go up.&#8221;
He said that recent polls showing consumer confidence had taken a downward turn in recent weeks, partly because of concerns about tariffs.
&#8220;It&#8217;s just the state of the consumer,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And I think we&#8217;ve seen a cautious consumer for quite some time now. They&#8217;re shopping carefully. They&#8217;re making sure they&#8217;re stretching their budgets as carefully as they can.&#8221;
Cornell said that his team has prepared different scenarios to mitigate the increase in costs as much as possible and that they aim to be nimble to &#8220;react accordingly.&#8221;
He said some items that would increase in price include strawberries, avocados, bananas, and more.
Canada responded by imposing a 25% tariff on the U.S., China responded with tariffs, and Mexico signaled it would also retaliate with its own tariffs.

Conservative activist Robby Starbuck announced on Thursday that PepsiCo will end all diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies and initiatives at the company and put an end to its woke &#8220;social credit system survey.&#8221;
In a post on <a href="https://x.com/robbystarbuck/status/1892623881682276386?s=51&amp;t=yVg_AIbZC0FnyCtU4qPVYw">X</a> from the filmmaker, Starbuck wrote that he could finally reveal that after he contacted the company and planned to expose its woke policies, PepsiCo has revealed big changes that aren&#8217;t just going to effect Pepsi, but all the the brands it owns including Gatorade, Quaker, Doritos, Ruffles, Frito-Lay, Aquafina, and more.
“@PepsiCo will no longer have a DEI Officer. PepsiCo will no longer have a DEI team. PepsiCo will END DEI representation goals,” Starbuck’s post read. “PepsiCo will no longer participate in the woke @HRC CEI social credit system survey. Woke trans agenda activists at the HRC are losing influence and power by the day.”
“They will END ALL DEI trainings,” he added. “ALL PepsiCo sponsorships must align with their business going forward. Instead of supplier diversity, PepsiCo is now focused on growing their small business supplier base.&#8221;
“I have to give their executives major credit for making these changes because these are some big changes,” Starbuck continued. “PepsiCo has 318,000+ employees and a market cap of more than $200 BILLION dollars. Those employees will now have a neutral workplace without feeling that divisive issues are being injected and this corporate neutrality will also extend to their many suppliers who will no longer feel pressure to endorse these policies.”

His post noted that with PepsiCo making these changes, the next major business under threat of wider public exposure of its woke policies is CocaCola.
“@CocaCola should be very nervous about continuing with their woke policies,” Starbuck wrote. “The spotlight is on them next. We are winning and one by one we WILL bring sanity back to corporate America.&#8221;
“Our campaigns are now so effective that we’re getting the biggest companies on earth to change their policies without me even posting a story outlining their woke policies,” he added. “Companies can clearly see that America wants normalcy back. The era of wokeness is dying right in front of our eyes. The landscape of corporate America is quickly shifting to sanity and neutrality. We are the trend, not the anomaly.”
Starbuck noted that the effort to get rid of woke policies and practices had impacted companies&#8217; worth more than $4 trillion so far and shared how people could help him <a href="https://x.com/robbystarbuck/status/1892623881682276386?s=51&amp;t=yVg_AIbZC0FnyCtU4qPVYw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">continue</a>.
PepsiCo joins other major companies like Target, Walmart, McDonalds, Harley Davidson, Ford, Coors, and Toyota that reversed course on DEI initiatives thanks to Starbuck&#8217;s efforts.

Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) confirmed it has closed its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dei" target="_blank" rel="noopener">DEI</a>) office following President Donald Trump’s executive order to remove DEI from the federal government. 
In a statement from a PBS spokesperson to <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/pbs-closes-dei-office-trump-executive-order-1236132553/">The </a><a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/pbs-closes-dei-office-trump-executive-order-1236132553/">Hollywood Reporte</a><a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/pbs-closes-dei-office-trump-executive-order-1236132553/">r</a>, the publicly funded nonprofit organization’s rep said, “In order to best ensure we are in compliance with the President’s executive order around Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion we have closed our DEI office.”
“The staff members who served in that office are leaving PBS,” it added. “We will continue to adhere to our mission and values. PBS will continue to reflect all of America and remain a welcoming place for everyone.”
In a DEI report in Feb. 2023, the broadcast network said it had opened a DEI office in 2022 and staffed it, led by DEI head Cecilia Loving and DEI director Gina Leow. In the report, it said the company had reached a workforce of 44 percent BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color.)
Last month, Trump signed the <a href="https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/01/ending-radical-and-wasteful-government-dei-programs-and-preferencing/">executive order</a> “Ending Radical and Wasteful Government DEl Programs and Preferencing and Initial Rescissions of Harmful Executive Orders and Actions,” placing all federal diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) officials on paid leave, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-to-put-all-federal-dei-officials-on-leave-by-end-of-day-tomorrow">reported</a>.
“The Biden Administration forced illegal and immoral discrimination programs, going by the name ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’ (DEI), into virtually all aspects of the Federal Government, in areas ranging from airline safety to the military,” the order said.

In a separate executive order, Trump <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-ends-equity-in-federal-hiring-promises-to-only-focus-on-merit">said</a> that the government would no longer consider goals like “equity” when hiring but prioritize based on skills, experience, and patriotism.
“Federal hiring should not be based on impermissible factors, such as one’s commitment to illegal racial discrimination under the guise of ‘equity,’ or one’s commitment to the invented concept of ‘gender identity’ over sex,” the order added.  “Inserting such factors into the hiring process subverts the will of the People, puts critical government functions at risk, and risks losing the best-qualified candidates.”

Target was hit with a proposed class action lawsuit from shareholders who accused the retailer of misleading them about the risks posed by its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiative.
Shareholders <a href="https://finance.yahoo.com/news/target-being-sued-defrauding-shareholders-144200399.html">filed</a> the suit on Friday, naming CEO Brian Cornell and the company&#8217;s board as defendants, according to a report by Quartz. The City of Riviera Beach Police Pension Fund in Florida claims it purchased Target stock at an inflated price between August 2022 and November 2024. The stock later tumbled after pushback against the retailer&#8217;s diversity efforts.
The lawsuit alleges that backlash to Target&#8217;s May 2023 Pride campaign hurt store traffic and placed employees at risk, reportedly contributing to a more than 21% stock drop in November. It also points to more substantial quarterly earnings from Walmart as evidence that the brand&#8217;s diversity initiatives continued to weigh on investor confidence.
In January, Target announced the end of its DEI goals and external reporting to DEI accountability organizations. According to an internal memo obtained by Quartz, it also discontinued a program emphasizing more products from black or minority-owned suppliers.
Chief community impact and equity officer Kiera Fernandez said the company&#8217;s decision was based on an &#8220;evolving external landscape&#8221; and &#8220;date, insights, and listening.&#8221;
Lawyers for the Florida-based pension fund allege their client was unaware the company was engaging in what they described as the &#8220;misuse of investor funds to serve political and social goals.&#8221;
Court documents detail how the plaintiffs claim they would not have purchased shares at specific prices had they known about what they interpret as looming financial hazards attached to these programs.
The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, contends that Target&#8217;s disclosures masked the extent of possible fallout from consumer pushback. Its claims focus on the concern that executives allegedly withheld risks from investors, which plaintiffs say ultimately contributed to a steep drop in value when the broader public reacted negatively.
The complaint requests damages for alleged losses and highlights what plaintiffs view as a breach of the company&#8217;s responsibility to operate in the best interests of its shareholders.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/target">Target</a> is the latest major company to reverse its diversity, equity, and inclusion (<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/dei">DEI</a>) initiatives.
Per a new memo made public on Friday, the Minneapolis-based <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/business">retail giant</a> will be joining large companies, including Walmart, McDonald’s, and Meta, to name a few, by phasing out its DEI focus. That means ending three-year DEI goals that were previously laid out.
“Many years of data, insights, listening and learning have been shaping this next chapter in our strategy,” chief community impact and equity officer Kiera Fernandez said in an internal memo sent to staff on Friday, per <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2025/01/24/target-rolls-back-major-dei-initiatives.html">CNBC</a>. “And as a retailer that serves millions of consumers every day, we understand the importance of staying in step with the evolving external landscape, now and in the future – all in service of driving Target’s growth and winning together.”
Per <a href="https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/target-ends-its-3-year-diversity-equity-inclusion-initiatives-2025-01-24/">Reuters</a>, the company pledged in 2022 to invest more than $2 billion in black-owned businesses by the end of 2025 as part of its REACH goals. Target also had goals of adding more than 500 black-owned brands and increasing exposure of diverse-owned brands through paid media, the outlet noted. Target will no longer focus on diversity when choosing suppliers.
Target will also stop reporting to external diversity-focused groups like the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index.
In 2023, the retailer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/target-to-offer-pride-merchandise-in-fewer-stores-after-backlash-against-tuck-friendly-swimsuit-sale-last-year">came under fire</a> for marketing a line of Pride-themed merchandise, including products like “tuck-friendly” female swimming suits, in prominent displays at the front of their stores. Other products in its “Pride Collection” included small shirts with phrases like “Just Be You And Feel The Love,” Pride-themed onesies, as well as rainbow-colored leggings, tutu skirts, and jumpers.
Following widespread backlash and boycotts, the Pride collection for 2024 was much smaller than the previous year. Conservative activist Robby Starbuck said a Target rep confirmed that the company would not market Pride merchandise to kids going forward, as he shared on X.

These changes come just days after newly inaugurated President Donald Trump placed all federal DEI officials on paid leave. 
“President Trump campaigned on ending the scourge of DEI from our federal government and returning America to a merit based society where people are hired based on their skills, not for the color of their skin,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-admin-to-put-all-federal-dei-officials-on-leave-by-end-of-day-tomorrow">reported</a>. “This is another win for Americans of all races, religions, and creeds. Promises made, promises kept.”
While major companies are abandoning DEI initiatives, others are digging in their heels. Costco <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/costco-shareholders-reject-anti-dei-proposal-spark-backlash">announced</a> on Friday that its shareholders overwhelmingly rejected an anti-DEI proposal.
“We owe our success to the more than 300,000 employees who serve our members every day. It is important that they all feel included and appreciated and that they transmit these values to our customers,” the company’s chairman, Hamilton “Tony” James, said of the decision to keep DEI as part of the company&#8217;s goals.
