Jennifer Flavin, wife of actor Sylvester Stallone, challenged the surge of celebrities with transgender-identifying children, suggesting it reflects a trend rather than a truth.
“I just think Hollywood is, you know, it’s all about expression,” Flavin said during an appearance on “The Katie Miller Podcast” after Miller quipped about whether there was “something in the water” influencing celebrity culture.
“However you want to express yourself. If you feel like a cat today, you’re a cat. And it’s so loosey-goosey,” she continued in a <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/media/sylvester-stallones-wife-reveals-theory-why-more-celebrity-kids-identify-transgender">preview clip</a> shared by Fox News Digital. “I don’t think that we’re really understanding that these kids are not our accessories. They’re little human beings that need structure. And structure is really important for them because it helps their brain organize everything.”
&#8220;And I think growing up in a Hollywood home, there’s really no structure because you have this thing going, and you’ve got private planes. And you’ve got all these giant homes with chefs and secretaries and assistants and, you know, housekeepers and nannies,&#8221; Flavin continued. &#8220;And there’s just too much of everything. It gets really confusing for a little person.&#8221;

The former model also talked about raising three daughters, who are now in their twenties, with Stallone.
“It’s OK what you decide to be as an adult, but raise them just with good common sense,” Flavin added.
“My daughters were tomboys,” she said. “They preferred to wear pants than dresses, you know? And they loved sports. But I never said, ‘Oh, you’re a boy now.’ I just said, ‘You love to play sports, you love to hang out with boys, that’s awesome.&#8217;”

One of President Donald Trump’s better qualities flies far under the radar. He doesn’t hold a grudge. That’s especially true when there’s a greater good in play.
Then-candidate Trump sparred aggressively with Fox News’ Megyn Kelly during the 2016 campaign. Late last year, Kelly endorsed Trump, speaking at a MAGA rally days before the Nov. 5 election.
The president once dubbed a presidential rival “Little” Marco Rubio. That politician is currently Trump’s trusted Secretary of State.
Now, Trump wants to make amends with Hollywood, an industry that loathes him with the heat of a thousand suns. This act of forgiveness dwarfs them all, but Trump sees movies as a vital part of the nation’s soft power as well as a critical industry.

It’s why Hollywood should swallow hard and play nice with President Trump. Or, at the very least, lend him its collective ear.
Trump’s shocking outreach began with, what else, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-says-movie-industry-is-dying-puts-plan-in-place-to-save-it" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a social media post</a>. He promised 100% tariffs on movies made outside of the U.S.
<blockquote>I am authorizing the Department of Commerce, and the United States Trade Representative, to immediately begin the process of instituting a 100% Tariff on any and all Movies coming into our Country that are produced in Foreign Lands,” he added. “WE WANT MOVIES MADE IN AMERICA, AGAIN!&#8221;</blockquote>
All heck broke loose in La La Land, with entertainment news outlets spinning furiously against the vague proposal.
Call it Trump’s opening volley, part of the president’s knack for starting with big claims and negotiating from there. It’s similar to Trump’s earlier announcement that movie superstars Mel Gibson, Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight would form a group of “Ambassadors” to <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-appoints-a-list-stars-as-ambassadors-to-hollywood" target="_blank" rel="noopener">revive the flailing film industry.</a>

Except the news seemed to have caught the trio by surprise and, only recently, did one of the actors, Voight, step forward with <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/news/jon-voight-trump-hollywood-tariff-1236390109/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">concrete plans</a> on making Hollywood great again.

The “Midnight Cowboy” star acknowledged the rift between Trump and Hollywood, adding that it shouldn&#8217;t distract from the big picture.
“I think he’s been treated unfairly. I think I have too. But what’s the difference? Who cares?” Voight asks. “I mean, there’s been a battle, but now it’s time to put that aside. And I must say, in all of the interactions we’ve had [on addressing runaway production], politics has never come up. Never.”
Hollywood, Inc. would be foolish not to listen.
Yes, the box office came roaring back in recent weeks, courtesy of hits like “Sinners” and “A Minecraft Movie.” That doesn’t camouflage the sizable issues confronting movie studios, from the death of the modern movie star to escalating film budgets.
Case in point? The upcoming “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” has a <a href="https://www.worldofreel.com/blog/2025/3/25/mission-impossible-8-has-a-400m-budget" target="_blank" rel="noopener">$400 million budget</a>, meaning it will have to dramatically out-perform the best films in the series to make a profit.
Hollywood’s problems would make a depressing feature.
Film and TV productions have been fleeing Los Angeles for some time. Streaming platforms have proven to be far less profitable than hoped, with Netflix emerging as the strongest money maker for now.
The DVD/Blu-ray gravy train slowed some time ago, removing a safety net for films that didn’t catch fire at theaters.
Dueling 2023 strikes hurt the industry more than anticipated, and the threat of A.I. to the creative community looms in the not-so-distant future. Social media, YouTube and other distractions now dominate the culture, making young consumers <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/deloitte-gen-z-creator-content-streaming-price-1236171227/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">less invested in Hollywood product</a>.
Meanwhile, California Democrats are <a href="https://www.latimes.com/entertainment-arts/business/story/2025-05-06/newsom-called-for-a-federal-tax-incentive-to-save-hollywood-but-will-that-actually-happen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">scrambling to prevent productions</a> from leaving the City of Angels for more receptive states and countries. That’s left countless Calif.-based crew members desperate for work. <a href="https://variety.com/2025/biz/news/new-york-film-subsidy-jersey-1236392167/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York just followed suit</a>.
Hollywood players hate Trump so much some wish they could erase his presence from pop culture of yore. “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York” <a href="https://variety.com/2025/film/news/home-alone-2-director-trump-cameo-removed-1236369779/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">director said just that about Trump’s seconds-long cameo</a> in his 1992 film.

Others have alternately <a href="https://variety.com/2016/tv/news/louis-c-k-donald-trump-insane-bigot-dangerous-1201723679/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">dubbed him Hitler</a> or <a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/celebrities-wished-trump-dead/">wished him dead</a>. That sentiment may be hard to overcome.
The perfect storm of problems facing Hollywood may be too much for any presidential plan to solve. Gen Z’s drift away from movie watching can’t be assuaged by new policies. Stars still insist on <a href="https://www.hollywoodintoto.com/fantastic-four-rachel-zegler-problem/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">insulting potential customers</a>, from “Snow White’s” Rachel Zegler to the cast of “The Fantastic Four: First Steps.”
The two sides need to put aside their differences for the greater good. A healthy film market impacts more than just studio executives, theater owners and various crew members.
Hollywood movies send a message to the world. Films like “The Pursuit of Happyness” (2006) showcase the power of the American capitalist system. Others promote values like individual liberty (2012’s “Still Mine”) and triumphs over adversity (2016’s “Hidden Figures”).
It’s why China invests so heavily in its movie industry. The Communist nation wants to put the nation’s best foot forward on the big screen, removing sequences from foreign films that cast the country in a negative light.
President Trump may not make Hollywood great again. He could help the industry thrive against all odds.

President-elect Donald Trump announced Thursday that he is appointing multiple legendary Hollywood actors as &#8220;special ambassadors&#8221; to Hollywood.
Those special ambassadors will be Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone, Trump <a href="https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/113839243472952784">said</a>. All three actors are conservative and have appeared publicly with Trump or praised him publicly in the past. Stallone, for example, praised Trump as &#8220;the second George Washington&#8221; while introducing him at the America First Policy Gala in Palm Beach in November.

Trump Appoints A-List Stars As Ambassadors To Hollywood

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sylvester-stallone" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sylvester Stallone</a> has upset his neighbors in the Palm Beach area over a proposed addition to his sprawling $35 million estate that would include a barrier in the Intracoastal Waterway near his home.
Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin left California for Florida, buying the estate in 2020, which includes a two-story mansion along with a private 262-foot beachfront, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/12/16/real-estate/sylvester-stallone-wants-to-install-a-floating-barrier-near-his-home/">New York Post </a>reported. It is situated on the North End of Palm Beach, a popular area for paddle-boarders, boaters, and kayakers.
According to documents submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Stallone filed paperwork in 2023 to create an “L-shaped” floating barrier in an effort to block seaweed, trash, and organic debris from entering the property.
It would involve creating a barrier stretching 191 feet southward from the dock and turning 50 feet toward the shore, that would still allow marine life to pass through.
However, the DEP public notice neighbors have received states the project’s main objective is “to exclude boaters” from getting to the estate, with seaweed listed as second, the outlet noted.
And now neighbors claim the barrier is Stallone’s way to block boaters and kayakers from using the waterway &#8212; something they aren’t happy about.

“A lot of neighbors are concerned,” neighbor Bradford Gary told the Daily News, “Usually when your neighbors are gonna do something, we’ve found in Palm Beach, usually they call.”
“He bought a beautiful property,” he added. “One of the nicest West Indies houses. I can see why you’d want to protect it. But you can’t just kind of stake your claim and think you own the water.”

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has pointed out its concerns as well, the outlet noted. The proposal is also under scrutiny as the Army Corps decides whether a barrier to keep boaters out can be legally allowed in the public waterway.
Speaking to <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/sylvester-stallones-wife-florida-move-wasnt-really-anything-left-for-me-in-california">Fox News</a>, Stallone’s wife Jennifer previously talked about their decision to leave California for Palm Beach, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sylvester-stallones-wife-says-shes-really-glad-they-moved-out-of-california">reported</a>.
“I was born and raised there [CA], two of our kids were born there, but now everyone’s out, our daughters have moved to the East Coast … so there wasn’t really anything left for me in California,” Flavin told the outlet.
“A few of our best friends also moved, so I think it’s [a] good change, just making new friends and living a totally different lifestyle, I love it, I’m really happy,” she added, noting that the move wasn’t just about the increase in crime in the state.
“There’s crime everywhere, there’s crime in Florida, too, so I didn’t move because of crime,” Flavin continued. “You can find it anywhere you look, even in small towns.”

It’s OK to tear up during the Western’s final moments. Honest. Up until then, director George Stevens’ film showcases why masculinity matters.
Alan Ladd plays the title character, a retired gunslinger who decides to help ranchers at the mercy of a local thug. Shane wants to put killing behind him, but getting to know the Starrett clan changes those plans.
Decent people deserve someone who can protect them. Their survival comes first.
Shane memorably teaches young Joey Starrett (Brandon deWilde) how to use a gun and wrestles a massive tree trunk with the Starrett patriarch in another iconic scene. He even feels a romantic tug for Mrs. Starrett (Jean Arthur) but knows not to break up their nuclear family.
The final gunfight remains a thing of beauty all these years later, a testament to cool under fire.

The ultimate shark thriller doubles as a treatise on masculinity. The three male characters capture the shades of the modern man. Roy Scheider’s Sheriff Brody is a calm, cool and committed leader. He also knows when he’s out of his depth. He pushes past his fear of the water to stop a shark from snacking on more Amity beach dwellers.
Quint, memorably played by Robert Shaw, is the ultimate Alpha Male.
Richard Dreyfuss’s scholarly Matt Hooper looks like a “Revenge of the Nerds” castoff, but he proves his mettle when it counts. He’s also not afraid to show fear in the face of what seems like insurmountable odds. One of the film’s best lines? Hooper struggles to clean his diving mask seconds before he descends into the steel cage for an up close and personal look at the shark.
“I’ve got no spit,” he confesses, capturing both fear and resilience. He’s still going down to confront the shark. That’s what a man does.

Rocky Balboa could have lived down to everyone’s expectations. Sylvester Stallone’s character wasn’t bright, nor was he born with anything resembling a silver spoon in his mouth. He was a journeyman fighter granted a chance to make something of himself. That’s assuming he can last a few rounds with the great Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers).
Stay down, Rocky. No one expects you to win.
Rocky won’t quit. He screws up his courage, trains harder than he’s ever trained before and manages to woo a shy pet shop clerk named Adrian (Talia Shire) along the way.
“Ain’t gonna be no rematch,” Creed grunts late in the fight, knowing Rocky will never quit.
There’s a reason Stallone remains a star at 78. Fans love his aspirational characters, none more than the Italian Stallion. Rocky represents a puncher’s chance, the notion that anyone in America can corral their destiny with hard work, hustle and an indomitable spirit.

Sure, it’s a Christmas movie, but beneath the yuletide tinsel lies a tribute to a father and husband. Det. John McClane (Bruce Willis) gets the worst Christmas present possible – a gang of Eurotrash thieves overtakes Nakatomi Plaza on December 24.
McClane’s ex (Bonnie Bedelia) is among the hostages, and he’ll stop at nothing to save her. He’ll walk barefoot over broken glass and stare down one of Hollywood’s most memorable villains, Hans Gruber (Alan Rickman).
He’s got the heart of a champion, showcased in four increasingly diminished sequels. He also knows when it’s best to use a wisecrack to keep the enemy off balance.
Willis lacked the cartoonish physique of Stallone and Schwarzenegger, the ‘80s defining action stars. He made do with a wife-beater T-shirt and a never-say-die spirit.

Patrick Swayze’s James Dalton can crack skulls with the best of him. The bouncer would rather de-escalate a bar fight than pour gasoline on its flames. Masculinity can evoke restraint, too.
Dalton could take on a roomful of drunks, but being a man means knowing when violence is the very last resort.
Being a man also means treating a lady right. Dalton proves he’s aces on that front, too, while courting his lovely physician (Kelly Lynch).

Sylvester Stallone quipped that actors should rely on stunt doubles for their riskier scenes to avoid a situation like he had several years ago.
The 77-year-old action star talked about some of his past injuries on the Paramount reality TV series “The Family Stallone.” He explained needing a seventh surgery due to injuries sustained from pro wrestling star “Stone Cold” Steve Austin while filming “The Expendables” in 2010, per <a href="https://www.tmz.com/2024/02/20/sylvester-stallone-warns-actors-own-stunts-seven-surgeries-injuries/">TMZ</a>.
&#8220;I did stupid stuff. I was directing ‘Expendables’ and like an idiot I’m doing take ten, take whatever, and I remember one slam and I could actually feel one ‘bang’. Steve knew,” Stallone explained. “I never recovered from Expendables 1. After that film, it was never physically the same. I’ve warned people — don’t do your own stunts.&#8221;
He continued with a joke, saying his next role might be playing Quasimodo in “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.”
The incident led to the “Rocky” star needing to get a metal plate inserted into his neck. He later had to have spinal fusions and treatment for dislocated shoulders.
Stallone’s wife, Jennifer Flavin, said her husband tries to &#8220;mask the pain&#8221; and &#8220;pretend like it didn&#8217;t happen.&#8221;
&#8220;He doesn’t like people to know he’s had so many back surgeries. It’s very scary for our family every time Sly has to go through surgery, because you never know . . . no one knows,&#8221; she said.
The actor’s 21-year-old daughter also weighed in on the situation. &#8220;My whole childhood, he’s been in pain,” she said. “He did everything he could to push through the pain and be present but I couldn’t imagine every waking moment you are just hurting.&#8221;
This revelation comes just after Stallone said he had his daughters prepare for a move to New York City by training with Navy SEALS.

&#8220;Rambo&#8221; actor Sylvester Stallone prepped his daughters for a move to New York City by having them train in self defense with U.S. Navy SEALs, the girls revealed in a recent <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/02/17/entertainment/sylvester-stallone-had-navy-seals-train-his-daughters/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with The New York Post.
During the interview, published just a few days ahead of the February 21 release of season two of &#8220;The Family Stallone,&#8221; daughters Sistine (25) and Sophia (27) said that the six-hour training even included chasing chickens.
&#8220;It was the hardest. It was about six hours we were in those woods,&#8221; Sistine said. &#8220;Sophia and I got our asses whooped by these guys. They were the real deal &#8230; And I’m not surprised my dad put us through something like this because our entire life we grew up with him doing these sort of military-esque, self-defense trainings.&#8221;
The training was filmed for the Paramount+ reality series — and the only daughter who was exempt from it was 21-year-old Scarlet, who is a college student in Miami, FL: &#8220;I was so happy I was not involved.&#8221;
Sophia noted that their father had been training them himself from a young age, waking them up early and insisting on a regimen that included protein intake and weight-lifting.
&#8220;It was a rigorous routine. Every day at 6 a.m., he would make us eat eggs with ketchup. For some reason, that combination … to bulk up,&#8221; she said, adding, &#8220;But then it was a lot of sit ups, push ups, pull ups, clean and jerks.&#8221;
Sistine joked then that the &#8220;Rocky&#8221; star had been raising &#8220;perfect boys,&#8221; but said that even with a lifetime of training, chasing chickens turned out to be a lot tougher than expected.
&#8220;That is deceivingly hard. I went in there a little cocky, no pun intended. I got beat by the chicken,&#8221; Sistine laughed.
&#8220;I don’t think he’ll ever be less nervous,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;He’s like a classic, overprotective dad. Three daughters at an age where, you know, we’re kind of all over the place and we’re out and about.&#8221;

The 77-year-old actor&#8217;s wife called the move &#8220;incredible&#8221; and said she&#8217;s really happy with their &#8220;change&#8221; after selling their home in June 2022 to singer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/adele-refused-to-buy-sylvester-stallones-house-unless-rocky-statue-was-included" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Adele</a> for $58 million and moving to the East Coast, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/sylvester-stallones-wife-florida-move-wasnt-really-anything-left-for-me-in-california" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Fox News</a> reported.

The &#8220;Rocky&#8221; star made similar comments at the start of his Netflix documentary &#8220;<a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/81450717" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sly</a>&#8221; when he said their move to Palm Beach was beneficial to him creatively, the outlet noted.
&#8220;I wasn&#8217;t moving because &#8216;Oh, wow, I wanted another beautiful view,'&#8221; Stallone said. &#8220;Any time changing that paradigm which you become used to, it&#8217;s literally to jump-start that process again.&#8221;

Last year, the &#8220;Rambo&#8221; star opened up about reconciling with Flavin after reports surfaced that they had split, as previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-didnt-pay-enough-attention-sylvester-stallone-reflects-on-prioritizing-career-over-fatherhood" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
&#8220;Let&#8217;s just say that it was a very tumultuous time,&#8221; Stallone shared at the time. &#8220;There was a reawakening of what was more valuable than anything, which is my love for my family. It takes precedence over my work, and that was a hard lesson to learn.&#8221;
Earlier this year, it was <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sylvester-stallone-and-family-land-reality-show-months-after-he-and-his-wife-reconcile-marriage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that Stallone and Flavin had landed a reality show following their reconciliation months earlier.
Stallone, Flavin, and their three daughters, Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet, are the focus of the eight-episode reality TV series called &#8220;The Family Stallone&#8221; on Paramount+, which launched in May and was renewed for a second season, the <a href="https://www.thewrap.com/the-family-stallone-paramount-plus-renewed-season-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wrap</a> noted.

Sylvester Stallone’s Wife Says She’s Really Glad They Moved Out Of California

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Burt Young</a>, best known for his iconic role as Paulie in &#8220;Rocky,&#8221; has <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/death" target="_blank" rel="noopener">died</a> at the age of 83.
The Oscar-nominated star passed away in Los Angeles on October 8, <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/burt-young-rocky-actor-dead-83" target="_blank" rel="noopener">per</a> Fox News Digital. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
&#8220;Burt was an actor of tremendous emotional range,&#8221; Young’s manager Lynda Bensky told the outlet in a statement.&#8221;He could make you cry, and he could scare you to death. But the real pathos that I experienced was the poignancy of his soul. That’s where it came from.&#8221;
Young was a prolific actor who participated in more than 160 <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hollywood</a> productions, but he’s best known for his turn playing <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sylvester-stallone" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sylvester Stallone</a>&#8216;s friend and eventual brother-in-law Paulie Pennino in six of the “Rocky” movies. Only three actors were given roles throughout the franchise, and he was one of them. The others were Stallone and Tony Burton.
Stallone posted on social media after learning of Young’s passing. “To my Dear Friend, BURT YOUNG, you were an incredible man and artist, I and the World will miss you very much &#8230; RIP.&#8221;

Young, whose real name was Gerald Tommaso DeLouise, was raised in Queens, New York. He was of Italian descent and built his career playing tough-guy Italian characters, including but not limited to his role in “Rocky.” 
The actor also appeared in other films, including “Chinatown,” “Convoy,” “Back to School,” “The Pope of Greenwich Village,” “Once Upon a Time in America,” “Last Exit to Brooklyn,” “Downtown: A Street Tale,” and “Amityville II: The Possession.” 
Young also worked in television, including appearances on “The Rockford Files,” “Baretta,” “Law &amp; Order,” “Walker, Texas Ranger,” “All In The Family,” “M*A*S*H,” “Miami Vice,” and “The Sopranos.”
He was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor for his work on the first “Rocky” movie, which premiered in 1976. Besides acting, Young was a painter who exhibited his work in galleries around the world. He’s also a published author and screenplay writer.
Young was predeceased by his wife, Gloria, who died in 1974. He is survived by a daughter and a grandson.

Aging actors can predict their golden years with some certainty.
They’ll play supporting roles, coaching much younger co-stars to victory, if they’re lucky. Otherwise, they’ll work the Comic-Con circuit peddling autographs tied to their glory days or just hope the phone will ring one more time.
Tell that to Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Stallone, 77, and Schwarzenegger, 76, once went head-to-head at the U.S. box office. Now, they’re still going strong, landing lead roles and flexing the star power that first lit up decades ago.
They even have dueling documentaries that capture their larger-than-life careers.
It’s almost like the 1980s never ended. But why can’t we let go of the pair and bond with younger stars still in their industry prime?
Nostalgia plays a part, no doubt. We can’t quit these superstars, much like the public mourning that followed fellow action star Bruce Willis’ forced retirement due to his aphasia diagnosis.

It helps that both Stallone and Schwarzenegger have worked very hard to stay in shape, far better than most of their audience members.
There’s something else in play. The actors are keenly aware of their image, and that hasn’t ebbed over time. They’re populist figures who win the day by the third act. They rarely cast themselves against type, knowing audiences expect a certain performance from them.
Stallone is still licking his professional wounds from comedic duds like “Oscar” and “Stop, Or My Mom Will Shoot.”
They’re loathe to disappoint the very fans that kept their careers afloat for more than 80 years, combined.
And, most shocking of all, few modern stars can compete with these senior citizens. They’ve been neutered by cries of “toxic masculinity,” something Stallone and Schwarzenegger would never let happen.
Schwarzenegger’s comeback may be the more surprising. He ditched Hollywood for politics as his A-list status was fading, becoming California’s last Republican governor in 2003. He left politics after his second term and went back to Hollywood.
Except his fan base wasn’t eager for his return, at least not yet.
Films like “The Last Stand” ($12 million), “Sabotage” ($10 million) and “Escape Plan” ($25 million) hardly lit the box office ablaze. Even his two “Terminator” sequels, “Genisys” and “Dark Fate,” drew modest crowds.
He kept plugging away, turning in credible turns in the indie horror movie “Maggie” and “Dark Fate,” despite the latter reducing him to a secondary role. He stole the film anyway.
Then a funny thing happened to the former Mr. Olympia. Netflix gave his career a second life. The combination of a three-part documentary, efficiently named “Arnold,” reminded America just why he became the biggest star in the Hollywood galaxy.
The docuseries came on the heels of the action-comedy series &#8220;FUBAR” put him back on the Hollywood map. <a href="https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/arnold-schwarzenegger-fubar-renewed-season-2-1235647782/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Variety reported</a> the show generated 88.94 million hours viewed after hitting the streaming service for just four days.
Now, he’s got more gigs lined up and a second season of “FUBAR,” assuming the actors ever end their current strike.

Stallone hasn’t stopped working, at all, but he’s recently seen an uptick in high-profile gigs. Not only has he played Rocky Balboa again in two successful “Creed” films, he’s kept busy with both “Rambo” and “Expendables” sequels. The fourth film in the latter series drops in September.
Last year, he headlined the Amazon Prime original “Samaritan,” but his best role in ages came courtesy of “Yellowstone” overlord Taylor Sheridan. The writer/director’s “Tulsa King” cast Stallone as an aging New York gangster farmed out to Oklahoma to stay far, far away from the rest of the mobsters. Except Dwight Manfredi tames Tulsa in short order, causing new problems for his old “family.”
Sheridan is known for avoiding woke storytelling tics, but his “Tulsa King” brings something else to the TV landscape. Stallone’s anti-hero could be the poster child for toxic masculinity. He gets what he wants, when he wants, and he often doesn’t care who he needs to shove aside to make it happen.

Those characteristics, while often brutish in nature, aren’t condemned in any 21st century fashion. We can’t help but admire his brio. It’s infectious, and while we don’t condone his illegal antics it’s comforting to see him flex his power.
That he often does so to protect women, especially his grown daughter, makes that masculinity even more appealing.
How many younger stars could pull that off?
The actor earned sold notices for his performance in the show along with a second season renewal, and he’s about to get another blast of fame. Netflix will debut “<a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/81450717" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Sly</a>,” a documentary capturing his colorful career, on November 3.
Stallone and Schwarzenegger aren’t the only aging stars the public craves. A <a href="https://puck.news/only-old-movie-stars-matter-to-moviegoers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">recent poll</a> of stars who can still draw a crowd featured fellow veterans like Denzel Washington (68), Brad Pitt (59) and Tom Cruise (61) in that bracket.
The younger generation just doesn’t cut it, at least when it comes to putting fannies in seats (or drawing streaming eyeballs).
Stallone and Schwarzenegger, both closer to the big 80 than they’d like to admit, may never go out of style.

Singer <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/adele">Adele</a> bought <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sylvester-stallone">Sylvester Stallone</a>’s California home, but she had one stipulation: the purchase had to include a statue of the fictional boxer from his cult classic film, “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies">Rocky</a>.”
Stallone <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/sylvester-stallone-interview-46610f70">told</a> The Wall Street Journal that he intended to keep the statue overlooking the pool when he moved, but Adele responded by saying, “‘That’s a no deal. That’s gonna blow the whole deal.&#8217;”
“She wanted the statue,” the 76-year-old actor said. The “Rambo” star also discussed how Adele has been renovating the home, which he approves of. “I like what she’s doing, she’s making it gorgeous,” he told WSJ.
The actor sold his eight-bedroom, 12-bath <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/real-estate">home</a> in Los Angeles’ Beverly Park area to the “Hello” singer for $58 million. He had originally listed the property, which sits on three and a half acres, for $110 million in 2021, per <a href="https://www.today.com/popculture/movies/sylvester-stallone-adele-wouldnt-buy-home-unless-rocky-statue-rcna90138">Today</a>. 
Stallone is best known for his portrayal of Rocky Balboa in “Rocky” (1976), a sports drama based on the life of small-time boxer Chuck Wepner, who eventually proved his worth in the ring. The movie was written by Stallone and directed by John G. Avildsen. 
The original “Rocky” was such a success it spawned a slew of films during the 1980s, followed by “Rocky V” (1990). Stallone reprised his role in the 2006 film “Rocky Balboa.” 
During the same interview, Stallone said his early failures as an actor led to him writing “Rocky.” 
“If I had made it like I wished early on in my career, I never would have turned to writing,” the actor said. He wrote “Rocky” in three days when he struggled to find work. “I did that to fill time and to feel creative, even though the writing was truly horrible. It wasn’t even birdcage-worthy. You know what I mean? It’s not even worth lining a birdcage with.”

Stallone was working on a screenplay about Edgar Allan Poe when he came up with the idea for “Rocky.” 
“I just started to identify with the fact that he had almost zero recognition in his own lifetime,” Stallone said. “Let me take my journey and put it into the metaphor of a boxer, because that’s what life is. It’s a struggle, it’s a battle. No one cares about the struggling writer. Everyone knows what it’s like to get hit and want to hit.”

“The ’80s was a very interesting time because the definitive ‘action guy’ had not really been formed yet,” Stallone said in the newly released Netflix documentary “Arnold,” per <a href="https://www.indiewire.com/news/breaking-news/sylvester-stallone-arnold-schwarzenegger-better-action-star-1234873616/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">IndieWire</a>. “Up until that time, action was a car chase like ‘Bullitt’ or ‘The French Connection.’ A <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/movies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">film</a> all about intellect and innuendo and verbal this and verbal that.”
Stallone went on to say that Schwarzenegger was one of the first actors to make action movies more focused on the actor rather than the project.
“You actually relied upon your body to tell the story,” the “Rocky” lead said. “Dialogue was not necessary. I saw that there was an opportunity, because no one else was doing this except some other guy from Austria, who doesn’t need to say much… He was superior. He just had all the answers. He had the body. He had the strength. That was his character.”
“I had to get my ass kicked constantly, whereas Arnold, he never got hurt much,” Stallone said of their different on-screen personas. “And I’m going, ‘Arnold, you could go out and fight a dragon and you’d come back with a Band-Aid.’”
Schwarzenegger was equally complimentary toward his contemporary. “Every time he came out with a movie like ‘Rambo II,’ I had to figure out a way of now outdoing that. Without Stallone, I maybe wouldn’t have been as motivated in the ’80s to do the kind of movies that I did and to work as hard as I did. I’m a competitive person,” the Austrian-born actor said. 
Stallone told <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottking/2022/11/11/sylvester-stallone-opens-up-on-competing-with-arnold-schwarzenegger-in-their-heyday/?sh=6668d07ca305" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Forbes</a> last November that he and Schwarzenegger “really disliked each other immensely” in the 80s and continuously for two decades as their action films were always competing.

“We were… this may sound a little vain, but I think we were pioneering a kind of genre at that time and it hasn’t been seen since really,” Stallone told the publication. “So the competition, because it’s his nature, he is very competitive and so am I… and I just thought it actually helped, but off-screen we were still competitive and that was not a healthy thing at all, but we’ve become really good friends.”
