Elle Macpherson recently opened up about her decision to get <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/bradley-cooper-says-hes-lucky-to-have-gotten-sober-after-battle-with-drugs-alcohol" target="_blank" rel="noopener">sober</a> twenty years ago.
During a wide-ranging interview for <a href="https://www.bodyandsoul.com.au/wellness/supermodel-elle-macpherson-on-success-sobriety-and-turning-60/news-story/432bf5ad9f98cfec563a14cb6ef01911" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Body+Soul</a> magazine, the 59-year-old supermodel said that before she celebrated her 40th birthday, she realized she had an alcohol problem.
&#8220;I stopped drinking in 2003 because I felt I couldn&#8217;t be fully present in my life and it was a wonderful springboard of getting to know myself on a deeper level,&#8221; Macpherson told the outlet.
&#8220;Everybody has their own journey and I&#8217;m not interested in telling other people what to do but I know that this was a decision that I&#8217;ve never regretted,&#8221; she added.
&#8220;Although it required discipline and persistence the bottom line is you can&#8217;t be well and present in your life if you&#8217;re not present and well, and alcohol doesn&#8217;t really support that,&#8221; Macpherson continued. &#8220;It&#8217;s very difficult to get to know yourself if you&#8217;re numbing yourself.&#8221;
In a recent <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/Cwp_ytApolL/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Instagram</a> post, she celebrated her major milestone of 20 years of sobriety. Her post included a close-up shot of her Alcoholics Anonymous tri-plate blue and gold token.
In 2020, Macpherson spoke to <a href="https://nz.news.yahoo.com/apos-introspective-apos-elle-macpherson-150636100.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Gritty magazine</a> and reflected on her sobriety path.
&#8220;It&#8217;s funny, 40 is such an introspective year,&#8221; Elle told the magazine. &#8220;I actually got sober when I was 40. I felt like I wanted to spend time in introspection.&#8221;
And now ahead of turning 60 in March, the supermodel said she feels &#8220;incredible.&#8221;

&#8220;I think that&#8217;s the most important thing,&#8221; Macpherson said. &#8220;You say I look incredible but I feel that way. I just love that sense of vitality and I&#8217;m grateful for my life, I&#8217;m grateful for my journey and I am loving turning 60.&#8221;
&#8220;I don&#8217;t focus on aging,&#8221; she added. &#8220;I think it&#8217;s more important to focus on the quality of the life that you&#8217;re living and how you&#8217;re living life to the fullest. They always say it&#8217;s not the years in your life it&#8217;s the life in your years. That&#8217;s what I like to help people with, which is how they can live their life to their fullest.&#8221;
The model was previously married, once to fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon and second to hotel billionaire Jeffrey Soffer. Macpherson also has two children from a previous relationship.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/supermodel">Supermodel</a> Linda Evangelista said that she’s used unhealthy methods in the past to maintain her slim physique.
The 58-year-old Canadian-born <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">star</a> made the revelations on an <a href="https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-river-cafe-table-4-86783836/">episode</a> of the podcast &#8220;Ruthie’s Table 4,&#8221; saying she used “cleanses” and other extreme methods to lose weight while she was working in the fashion industry.
&#8220;I started doing cleanses all the time, and I loved doing these cleanses, but I think they were very harmful to me,&#8221; Evangelista said during the interview. She recalled doing the popular “Master Cleanse,” a liquid juice fast made popular by Beyonce in 2006.
“I did the Master Cleanse quite a few times, but I would do medicinal cleanses, where it&#8217;s like a powder drink, like the rice base … there&#8217;s different brands that do them,&#8221; the model continued.
&#8220;You just do liquids, mostly water with lemon and mints and teas, and you get a glass of juice a day, and you get a diluted watered-down vegetable once a day called a ‘soup,’&#8221; Evangelista said of the methods she used while attending different medical spas. &#8220;But it’s basically a starvation diet.&#8221;
&#8220;It&#8217;s been quite the journey. I will never do the deprivation – I won’t do that again,&#8221; she added.
While Evangelista isn’t interested in long-term deprivation diets, she did admit to still enjoying a “nice” 24-hour fast of just celery juice occasionally. &#8220;I do still enjoy doing something like that. I find it refreshing, and you kick-start your head and your mind into a new place of like, ‘OK, I’m going to get on this healthy track.'&#8221;
The model made headlines in 2022 after going public about being “permanently deformed&#8221; following a botched plastic surgery procedure, as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/linda-evangelista-shares-photos-after-being-permanently-deformed-following-botched-plastic-surgery">reported</a>. Evangelista had undergone the fat-reducing procedure CoolSculpting in 2015 but had an adverse reaction which caused her to retain fat tissue rather than lose it.

Evangelista said she “stopped eating” to try to counteract the fat growth but it wasn’t enough to stop large bulges from forming on her body. Her appearance changed so much that she didn’t want to leave the house.
“I loved being up on the catwalk. Now I dread running into someone I know,” the former model told People at the time. “I can’t live like this anymore, in hiding and shame. I just couldn’t live in this pain any longer. I’m willing to finally speak.”
The model filed a lawsuit against CoolSculpting’s parent company, Zeltiq Aesthetics Inc, for $50 million in damages. The case was <a href="https://www.cnn.com/style/article/linda-evangelista-cosmetic-lawsuit-settled-intl-scli/index.html">settled</a> in July 2022 for an undisclosed amount.

Former supermodel Kathy Ireland is continuing to speak out for the unborn, sitting down with prominent pro-life activist Lila Rose to discuss the issue of life.
Ireland, a former Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue model, turned her early success into a multi-billion dollar company, kathy ireland Worldwide (kiWW), and is one of the wealthiest former models in the world. At the height of her modeling days, she married physician Greg Olsen and they had three children together.
Ireland told Rose during their interview this month that the pro-life cause is backed by science. &#8220;I didn&#8217;t want to be pro-life, it wasn&#8217;t part of my plan,&#8221; she recalled, but added that &#8220;once you know the truth, and you know a human being&#8217;s life is in danger, nothing else matters.&#8221;
The mother-of-three, calling herself a &#8220;slow learner,&#8221; recalled to Rose when she first started to understand that life began at conception. Ireland, who formerly identified as a pro-choice Christian, said she called Planned Parenthood and asked them for their best arguments for abortion. She said they didn&#8217;t have any compelling argument to offer, and knew she had to fight for the most vulnerable.
&#8220;If we saw someone murdering a three-year-old on the street, we would intervene,&#8221; Ireland said. &#8220;When you recognize that this is a human being that we&#8217;re talking about, you do whatever you can to stop it.&#8221;
&#8220;Once you know the truth, it&#8217;s hard to un-know it,&#8221; she emphasized.
Rose asked Ireland what it was like to advocate for life while she was still in the Hollywood bubble. &#8220;I was told this would kill my career,&#8221; the former model explained, adding that the pushback, however, was &#8220;irrelevant&#8221; to her.
&#8220;There&#8217;s been a lot of pushback from it, yet it is so irrelevant when we&#8217;re talking about a human life,&#8221; Ireland told Rose.
Ireland said she was asked years ago to appear on Bill Maher&#8217;s former show &#8220;Politically Incorrect,&#8221; and said she would only go on if they talked about real issues, such as life, and not just &#8220;fluff.&#8221;

&#8220;The Lord will provide,&#8221; Ireland added, &#8220;it&#8217;s gonna work out.&#8221;

The 57-year-old celebrity made the revelation on the new AppleTV+ <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment" target="_blank" rel="noopener">docuseries</a>, “The Super Models.” The limited series also explores the lives and careers of Crawford’s contemporaries, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington.
A snippet from the newest <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/television" target="_blank" rel="noopener">episode</a> shows Oprah introducing Crawford as her guest during a 1986 episode of her talk show, per <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12537015/Cindy-Crawford-blasts-Oprah-CHATTEL-body-fame.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Daily Mail</a>. The young model appeared with famed Elite Modeling Agency rep John Casablancas. 
“Did she always have this body? Stand up just a moment, now this is what I call a body,” Oprah says in the clip.
Crawford complies with the talk show host’s request and stands with a smile. In the present day, the model reflects on how she feels about the incident. 
“I was like the chattel or a child, be seen and not heard,” the model says. “When you look at it through today&#8217;s eyes, Oprah&#8217;s like, &#8216;Stand up and show me your body. Show us why you&#8217;re worthy of being here.’&#8221;

The mom of two also talked about her early days of modeling in the series, including when her father didn’t believe it was a real job.
“I never even thought about modeling,” Crawford said in one clip, as The Daily Wire <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cindy-crawford-said-her-father-thought-modeling-was-another-name-for-prostitution" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
“I didn’t even know it was a real job. I didn’t know how I would get from DeKalb, Illinois, to a magazine,” the celeb continued. “My dad really didn’t understand that modeling was a real career. He thought modeling was like another name for prostitution. So they came with me to my very first modeling appointment.”

The 57-year-old discussed her early days working in the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">industry</a> as part of the new four-part limited docu-series, “The Super Models.” <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">Crawford</a> discussed being discovered in a small town in Illinois and eventually becoming an international superstar.
&#8220;I never even thought about modeling,&#8221; said Crawford, per a preview clip shared with <a href="https://people.com/apple-tv-unveils-new-clip-featuring-cindy-crawford-for-upcoming-docuseries-the-super-models-7969606">People</a>.

“There was a sisterhood there, defined by caring and loyalty: When one is down you pick the other one up,” Campbell said of their relationship.
“It&#8217;s just luck and grace, honestly. I felt like my career took off pretty quickly, so maybe there were more eyes on me and they couldn&#8217;t get away with stuff,” Turlington said of avoiding harmful situations. “But I don&#8217;t even think it was that: Predatory people are predatory people.”
“You&#8217;d get invited to a party on someone&#8217;s yacht and I&#8217;d think, &#8216;What do you even wear on a yacht? What fork do you use?&#8217; So I would just not go,” Crawford said. “Yes, I probably missed out on some fabulous opportunities but probably avoided some less-than-fabulous opportunities as well.”

Supermodel Linda Evangelista revealed in a recent interview that she has battled and overcome not one but two breast cancer diagnoses over the last few years.
The 58-year-old <a href="https://pagesix.com/2023/09/05/linda-evangelista-reveals-she-had-breast-cancer-twice-in-5-years/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Canadian fashion model</a> told the <a href="https://www.wsj.com/style/fashion/linda-evangelista-steven-meisel-32909b7b" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Wall Street Journal</a> that after she was diagnosed in 2018 with cancer she told her doctor to take off both breasts because &#8220;breast cancer was not going to kill&#8221; her.
&#8220;It was detected in my annual mammogram,&#8221; Evangelista said. &#8220;The margins were not good, and due to other health factors, without hesitation, because I wanted to put everything behind me and not to have to deal with this, I opted for a bilateral mastectomy.&#8221;

So she underwent the surgery and thought she would be &#8220;good and set for life.&#8221;
However, in 2022 she found a lump on her breast, had it checked out, and discovered it was cancerous. Evangelista said after the second diagnosis she told her doctor, &#8220;Dig a hole in my chest.&#8221;
&#8220;I don&#8217;t want it to look pretty. I want you to excavate,&#8221; the model recalled telling her doctor. &#8220;I want to see a hole in my chest when you&#8217;re done. Do you understand me? I&#8217;m not dying from this.&#8221;
&#8220;I just went into this mode that I know how to do — just do what you&#8217;ve got to do and get through it,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;And that&#8217;s what I did.&#8221;
Now she said the prognosis is &#8220;good,&#8221; but she wouldn&#8217;t say it was &#8220;great&#8221; and explained that she received a &#8220;horrible oncotype score,&#8221; which represents the likelihood of the cancer returning, the outlet noted.

Supermodel Christy Turlington had only praise for women who she said have chosen to &#8220;age naturally&#8221; and she made it clear she won&#8217;t be using plastic surgery — nor does she think other women should attempt to slow down mother nature.
The 54-year-old model talked about the women she sees as beauty icons and said they are the ones who have stayed away from altering their faces to hide the fact that they have lived life, calling it beautiful, <a href="https://www.marieclaire.com/beauty/christy-turlington-beauty-routine/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Marie Claire</a> reported.
