The Israeli Left, intent on finding a way to topple Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government, tried to implement a labor strike that would have crippled the country while it is at war with the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah and suffered a disastrous defeat.
Histadrut chairman Arnon Bar-David had called for a strike to start on Sunday, ostensibly because he argued that the government was not doing enough to bring hostages back  — a spurious claim as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has conducted successful operations to rescue hostages and Netanyahu has repeatedly accepted cease-fire proposals which Hamas has always rejected — but in reality was an attempt to bring the right-wing government down.
But Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, with the consent of Netanyahu, filed an injunction with Israel’s labor court to block the strike. The Gvura Forum, which represents family members of fallen soldiers, filed a similar injunction.

“The court ruled soon after hearing the case that since the strike was &#8216;a protest&#8217; by nature and not related to workers’ rights, it needed to have been coordinated in advance and lasted for a limited period of a few hours,” the Jerusalem Post <a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/article-817363">reported</a>. “The strike was announced less than 12 hours prior to its start and was not limited, and was therefore illegal, the court ruled. The court added that the ruling was only relevant to the Histadrut and that other unions as well as business forums were not included.”
“The days where someone harnesses the power of organized work to advance political interests” were over, “especially during a war and when it serves the interests of Hamas and [its leader Yahya] Sinwar.”
“A large number of municipalities and regional councils did not join Monday&#8217;s strike,” Israel National News <a href="https://www.israelnationalnews.com/news/395592">noted</a>.

Barak has demonstrated his contempt for Israel’s most sacred places before and the Jewish connection to the land of Israel for decades; in June, the Israel State Archives released material that revealed that during the 2000 negotiations with terrorist Palestine Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat, Barak was ready to give up Israeli sovereignty over parts of the Old City of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, the holiest place in Judaism.

After 118 days, the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/actors">SAG-AFTRA</a> actors <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/strike">strike</a> is finally over, and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a> can get back to work.
Studios and union reps reached a tentative agreement on Wednesday, meaning the strike ended at 12:01 a.m. PT on Thursday and production can start up again within the next few weeks, per <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/11/sag-strike-ends-actors-studios-deal-contract-1235566470/">Deadline</a>. 
Specific details still aren’t being shared with the public. More information will likely become available Friday when the agreement reaches the board, the publication noted. The strike is ending a little less than a month after the WGA (Writer’s Guild of America) ratified its three-year contract with the studios after being on strike earlier this year.
Major studio reps most recently submitted their so-called “last, best, and final offer” to the union. Major concerns addressed included wage increases, bonuses, and AI (artificial intelligence) protections, which were similar to the items addressed in the WGA contract.
If the board signs the deal later this week, then it will move to the 160,000 SAG-AFTRA members, who will vote on whether to ratify the agreement. Then everyone can get back to work as usual. Studios were eager to end the strike in early November, hoping to avoid extensively delaying shows and films slated for 2024 and 2025. 
The actors strike began on July 14. It is estimated to have cost Southern California more than $6.5 billion and 45,000 entertainment industry jobs, Deadline noted.
SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher reacted positively to the news.

The actors <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/strike">strike</a> in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a> has been dragging on for so long that now SAG-AFTRA is advertising collectible merchandise. 
Union leaders are currently reviewing what’s been described as the studios’ “last, best, and final offer” to finally end the 115-day-long strike.
No meetings are currently scheduled to discuss the latest offer as the union doesn’t know how long they’ll need to review the terms. “There’s a lot to digest here,” a guild insider told <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/11/actors-strike-final-offer-under-review-1235593669/">Deadline</a>. “This simply takes time to review and to respond.”
SAG-AFTRA <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/entertainment">picket lines</a> are still scheduled for Monday in Los Angeles and New York, and the union introduced collectibles for members who show up.

“Star Trek” actor Zachary Quinto publicly stated his support for SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher as she remains the face of the strike. 
“You are in an impossibly difficult position right now — and you are bearing up with grace and dignity and power and I am so impressed with how you handled yourself — and this negotiation — every step of the way,” the actor <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CzR90PBPQ9U/">share</a>d on Instagram. 
“The AMPTP is trying to capitalize on fatigue and harness pressure from the industry at large (agencies and studios especially) to break our resolve and have you and your incredible negotiating committee accept whatever it is they’ve thrown at us and say thank you,” he added. “Their decision to use ‘last best and final’ language in their most recent counter proposal tips their hand and shows that they are relying on intimidation and not fairness to bring this strike to an end.”
The studios have been eager to resolve the strike by the end of October or early November, the outlet noted, to help increase chances that movies and television shows scheduled to premiere in 2024 won’t be delayed. Industry experts had hoped that the WGA strike resolution would help inspire a similar outcome with the SAG-AFTRA strike, but so far, that hasn’t been the case.

Teachers in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/portland" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Portland</a> kicked off a strike on Wednesday, walking off the job and closing schools for about 45,000 students.
The Portland Association of Teachers, which represents more than 4,000 teachers in the area, is complaining about salaries, large class sizes, and not enough resources.
There are no classes, even online instruction, during the strike.
The teachers union has been bargaining with the district for months after its contract expired in June. The union said this is the first time teachers have gone on strike in the Portland school district.
Meanwhile, Portland Public Schools claims it does not have enough funds to give the union what it wants despite Oregon&#8217;s record $10.2 billion K-12 budget for the next two years. The district said the union&#8217;s demands would cost hundreds of millions of dollars more and mean staffing cuts as well.
“Funding has not kept pace with the needs of our students, nor our educators,” Superintendent Guadalupe Guerrero said Wednesday. “We strive to offer a compensation that attracts and retains talent. But unlike a private organization, we don’t have record profits we can tap into.”
Salary is one of the main sticking points between the district and the union. The district&#8217;s annual base salary is about $50,000, although the <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/01/us/portland-oregon-teachers-strike.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">average</a> salary for a Portland teacher is $87,000, according to the district, which is slightly above the median income for a single person in the area.
The union has asked for a roughly 20% salary increase over three years, while the district has suggested offering about half that much.

Teachers <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/11/01/us/portland-oregon-teachers-strike.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">say</a> they are working overtime to handle their workload as students&#8217; academic and mental health needs have spiked since the pandemic. The union is asking for more time for teachers to plan lessons.
On Friday, the district and the union are set to meet with a state mediator together, the superintendent said.
Declining enrollment is another factor as the Portland district has lost close to 3,000 students since the pandemic, <a href="https://apnews.com/article/teachers-strike-portland-oregon-7c437cefd322b19c1d915a1a32431781" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to state data.
The Portland strike is the latest of several school worker strikes in large cities this year.
In March, Los Angeles school workers in the country&#8217;s second-largest public school district <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2023/03/25/business/la-school-strike-growing-trend/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">walked</a> off the job, shutting schools for about a half million students for three days. The workers, which included teachers&#8217; aides, cafeteria employees, and custodians, were demanding better pay and that the district hire more people.
Then in May, teachers, librarians, counselors, and other workers went on strike in Oakland in the Bay Area for about two weeks. That union demanded higher pay, as well as housing assistance for homeless students and reparations for black students. The strike shut down the city’s public schools, and the district eventually <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/striking-oakland-teachers-district-reach-agreement-on-four-common-good-issues/#" target="_blank" rel="noopener">caved</a> on the union’s housing assistance demand.
Back in September, the Portland teachers union <a href="https://freebeacon.com/policy/portland-teachers-threaten-school-shutdown-if-their-district-declines-to-provide-subsidized-housing/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">threatened</a> to strike over subsidized housing for poor students as well.
The teacher strikes also come amid cost of living woes this year, especially in bigger cities, due to skyrocketing inflation.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/general-motors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">General Motors</a> and the United Auto Workers union reached a tentative agreement on Monday that increases wages for workers following six weeks of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/strike" target="_blank" rel="noopener">strikes</a> at GM facilities around the country. 
The deal with GM followed other deals with Ford and Stellantis after the union representing workers for the automobile companies <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/autoworkers-strike-expands-ahead-of-expected-appearances-from-trump-biden" target="_blank" rel="noopener">demanded higher pay</a> as well as “economic and social justice.” Members of the union must still vote to accept the terms of the agreement before it can be officially implemented. 
“The UAW reached a historic tentative agreement with General Motors that paves the way for a just transition and wins record economic gains for autoworkers,” the union <a href="https://uaw-newsroom.prgloo.com/press-release/uaw-reaches-a-tentative-agreement-with-general-motors-bringing-ultium-cells-workers-into-master-agreement" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> in a statement. “Like the agreements with Ford and Stellantis, the GM agreement has turned record profits into a record contract.”
The agreement, which would be in place through April 2028, will factor in cost of living increases, which have jumped as food and transportation inflation have hit record highs during the Biden administration. 
“The agreement grants 25% in base wage increases through April 2028, and will cumulatively raise the top wage by 33% compounded with estimated COLA [cost of living allowances] to over $42 an hour. The starting wage will increase by 70% compounded with estimated COLA, to over $30 an hour,” the union said. 
GM Chair and CEO Mary Barra <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/10/30/business/economy/gm-uaw-contract-deal.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the company &#8220;is pleased to have reached a tentative agreement with the UAW that reflects the contributions of the team while enabling us to continue to invest in our future and provide good jobs in the U.S.”
GM has <a href="https://www.cnbc.com/2023/10/30/gm-uaw-tentative-agreement-labor-strike.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">lost</a> an estimated $800 million during the lengthy strike.

The strike gained the attention of leading 2024 presidential candidates, including President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump. Biden, who previously spoke to workers in Michigan, praised the deal with GM, saying that it rewards “autoworkers who gave up much to keep the industry working and going during the global financial crisis more than a decade ago.”
During a September speech before autoworkers in Clinton Township, Michigan, <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-blasts-bidens-economic-policies-in-appeal-to-michigan-voters-sending-auto-workers-to-the-unemployment-line" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Trump blasted</a> Biden’s economic and environmental policies, taking aim at Biden’s aggressive push to “transition” the U.S. from gas-powered cars to electric vehicles. 
“You can be loyal to American labor or you can be loyal to the environmental lunatics,” Trump <a href="https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/politics/2023/09/27/donald-trump-returns-auto-industry-strike-uaw-ev-taking-center-stage-presidential-election-joe-biden/70960155007/">said</a>. “But you can’t really be loyal to both. It’s one or the other.”
“The auto industry is being assassinated,” Trump added. “If you want to buy an electric car, that’s absolutely fine. I’m all for it. But we should not be forcing consumers to buy electric vehicles they don’t want to buy.”

Several thousand members of the SAG-AFTRA union have signed an open letter stating that they’re not ready to give up without getting the deal they want.
The union has been on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/strike">strike</a> since July 14, which has brought most <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a> productions to a standstill. 
The group of 3,600 members are calling themselves Members in Solidarity. Some big-name stars who signed the letter include Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jon Hamm, Maya Hawke, Marisa Tomei, John Leguizamo, and Bryan Cranston, per <a href="https://variety.com/2023/biz/news/sag-aftra-open-letter-strike-membership-cave-1235770206/">Variety</a>.
The letter says the negotiating committee still represents the desires of the majority of SAG-AFTRA members, who are “are still standing in solidarity, ready to strike as long as it takes and to endure whatever we must in order to win a deal that is worthy of our collective sacrifice.”
“We have not come all this way to cave now,” the letter says. “We have not gone without work, without pay and walked picket lines for months just to give up on everything we’ve been fighting for. We cannot and will not accept a contract that fails to address the vital and existential problems that we all need fixed.”
“In any union, there will always be a minority who are not willing to make temporary sacrifices for the greater good,” it continued.

The letter is being released as some union members are becoming restless as negotiations fail to go anywhere. Industry insiders had hoped that the end of the writers’ strike in late September would spur a similar resolution for SAG-AFTRA, especially since both unions had similar demands. But so far that hasn’t happened.
Recently, a group of A-list actors led by George Clooney came up with an alternative solution for raising funds, offering to put up $150 million of their own money over a three-year period by way of removing the current cap on union dues. They said this bottom-up structure would make top earners the last to collect on residuals rather than the first.
But this didn’t pan out, as the negotiating committee didn’t “see the validity” of their proposal. It’ll be up to the SAG-AFTRA reps to work out a mutually agreeable deal with major studios in order for Hollywood to finally get back to work.

The Screen Actor&#8217;s Guild-American Federation of Television Radio Artist&#8217;s issued a <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/barbie-wednesday-addams-halloween-costumes-banned-sag-aftra-1235622914/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">guideline</a> on October 18 that card-carrying actors should &#8220;choose costumes inspired by generalized characters and figures (such as ghost, zombie, or spider)&#8221; in order to &#8220;celebrate Halloween this year while also staying in solidarity&#8221; with the strike.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/sag-aftra-issues-guidelines-for-halloween-costumes-asks-members-to-select-generalized-characters-only" target="_blank" rel="noopener">guidelines</a> stated actors should not &#8220;post photos of costumes inspired by struck content to social media&#8221; because that would give the studios publicity. &#8220;Let’s use our collective power to send a loud and clear message to our struck employers that we will not promote their content without a fair contract!&#8221;

Actress and former <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/general-news/sag-aftra-clarifies-halloween-costume-rules-ryan-reynolds-1235624100/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SAG-AFTRA</a> president Melissa Gilbert slammed the rules, &#8220;THIS is what you guys come up with? Literally no one cares what anyone wears for Halloween. I mean, do you really think this kind of infantile stuff is going to end the strike? We look like a joke.&#8221;
&#8220;Please tell me you&#8217;re going to make this rule go away … and go negotiate!&#8221; she added. &#8220;For the love of God, people are suffering mightily and this is what you have to say … c&#8217;mon.&#8221;
In response, the Hollywood union issued a clarification that the &#8220;SAG-AFTRA issued Halloween guidance&#8221; was not meant to apply to &#8220;anyone&#8217;s kids&#8221; and instead was &#8220;in response to questions from content creators and members about how to support the strike during this festive season.&#8221;
&#8220;This was meant to help them avoid promoting struck work, and it is the latest in a series of guidelines we have issued,&#8221; the statement added. &#8220;&#8230; We are on strike for important reasons, and have been for nearly 100 days. Our number one priority remains getting the studios back to the negotiating table so we can get a fair deal for our members, and finally put our industry back to work.&#8221;
The actor&#8217;s strike is nearing its 100th day after talks broke off Saturday without a deal with studios. In July, SAG-AFTRA authorized a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/actors-go-on-strike-heres-what-that-means-for-your-shows-and-movies" target="_blank" rel="noopener">strike</a> after failing to come to a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP).

As the SAG-AFTRA <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/strike">strike</a> drags on, union leaders issued a statement to their <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">members</a> about Halloween costumes, urging them not to don any outfits which would promote struck <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a> projects. 
The guidelines were created for members looking to “celebrate Halloween this year while also staying in solidarity” with the strike. The informative flyer <a href="https://www.sagaftrastrike.org/post/halloween-guidance-from-sag-aftra">shared</a> to the SAG-AFTRA strike page on Wednesday said, “Choose costumes inspired by generalized characters and figures (ghost, zombie, spider, etc.).” 
They also recommend dressing up as characters “from non-struck content, like an animated TV show.”
It also said actors should not “post photos of costumes inspired by struck content to social media” because that would give the studios publicity. 
“Let’s use our collective power to send a loud and clear message to our struck employers that we will not promote their content without a fair contract!” the flyer said.
Some of the most popular costumes this year are Barbie and Wednesday Addams, but neither of those would be permitted with the proposed union guidelines. 
Actor Ryan Reynolds reacted to the flyer with a post on X, writing, “I look forward to screaming &#8216;scab&#8217; at my 8 year old all night. She’s not in the union but she needs to learn.”

Talks between the actors’ union and AMPTP are currently at a standstill. “After meaningful conversations, it is clear that the gap between the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA is too great, and conversations are no longer moving us in a productive direction,” studio reps said in a statement on October 12. This led to those conversations being “suspended” for now, per <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/10/actors-strike-talks-suspended-1235570997/">Deadline</a>.

At the time, SAG-AFTRA reps accused the studios of using “bully tactics” and misrepresenting the negotiation details when talking to the press.
Industry professionals were hoping that the recently ratified contract between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) would spur a similar agreement with the actors as both were on strike at the same time. But the past few weeks have not seen any progress toward a mutual agreement.
One of the major point of contention remains how much actors get paid in revenue sharing for streaming residuals.

A group of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">A-list actors</a> pledged some of their own money in an effort to end the actors’ strike in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a>, but according to reports their request was turned down by the union.
The effort was led by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/george-clooney">George Clooney</a> and included other big-name Hollywood stars such as Ben Affleck, Emma Stone, Tyler Perry, and Scarlett Johansson, <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/news/george-clooney-proposal-sag-aftra-explained-1235762621/">Variety</a> reported. This group of about 15 celebrities proposed payments of $150 million over three years to SAG-AFTRA by way of removing the current cap on union dues. They said this bottom-up structure would make top-earners the last to collect on residuals rather than the first.
The outlet noted that SAG-AFTRA president Fran Drescher and executive director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland met with the union’s negotiating committee to discuss these proposed terms. But sources say their proposal was met with a rejection.
“It didn’t go well,” one of the sources said, adding that the committee “didn’t see the validity” of the proposal.
The insiders further said the situation has inspired negative feelings in the Hollywood community as the A-listers sought a solution for resolving the ongoing strike and getting back to work. “They don’t understand why there isn’t just a mediation,” one source said. 
“I’ll reach out to George to talk to him,” David Jolliffe, a member of the negotiating committee, <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/news/george-clooney-150-million-actors-strike-proposal-sag-response-1235762001/">said</a> of the situation, per Variety. “We appreciate everybody’s help. Everybody has ideas. But we’ve been doing this for almost a year now.”

Crabtree-Ireland said the frustration is justified, but everyone should just trust the process. 
“No one has indicated any lack of unity or support that I’m aware of,” Crabtree-Ireland said during an interview at the picket line on Thursday. “And I don’t think having a suggestion or an idea is an indication of a lack of support… I think it’s unfortunate if people misconstrue that as some sort of interference or some sort of lack of confidence in the negotiating committee because that’s just not the case.”
“I think everyone would like this to be over with,” he added. “There’s no one who wants this to continue. But I also think everyone recognizes that that’s only going to happen with a fair deal.”
The SAG-AFTRA strike has been going on since July 14. The Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) resolved their strike at the end of September, which led industry members to hope for a similar resolution for actors that would help get Hollywood back up and running.

The guild released a statement Thursday night which said, “In light of potential safety concerns that are unrelated to our ongoing strike, there will be no SAG-AFTRA pickets in New York City or Los Angeles on Friday, Oct. 13. Stay safe and see you on the picket lines next week.”

The cancellation comes after former Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal called for people across the Muslim world to strike out with violence in cities on Friday in what he referred to as a “Day of Jihad,” as The Daily Wire previously <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/americas-largest-cities-ramp-up-security-as-anti-israel-rallies-hit-streets-after-former-hamas-chief-called-for-day-of-jihad">reported</a>.
“We declare next Friday, ‘The Friday of the Al-Aqsa Flood,’ as a day of general mobilization in our Arab and Islamic world and among the free people of the world,” Meshaal said in a statement sent to Reuters. 
“It is a day to rally support, offer aid, and participate actively. It is a day to expose the crimes of the occupation, isolate it, and foil all its aggressive schemes. It is a day to demonstrate our love for Palestine, Jerusalem, and Al-Aqsa. It is a day for sacrifice, heroism, and dedication, and to earn the honour of defending the first Qibla of Muslims, the third holiest mosque, and the ascension of the trusted Messenger.”
The New York Police Department said in a <a href="https://variety.com/2023/film/news/sag-aftra-cancels-friday-pickets-safety-concerns-1235754751/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">statement</a> there were “no credible, specific threats to New York City” but explained they were operating with a heightened awareness.

The Los Angeles Police Department echoed that sentiment. They said in a statement they’re “aware of recent statements made calling for action as it relates to the conflict in the Middle East. We have no information of any specific or credible threats to the City of Los Angeles but we are continuing to assess the situation for any potential impact to our communities.”
“We will be reaching out to our local Jewish and Muslim communities and will be providing extra patrol during this unimaginable time,” the statement added.

Just as talks between major studios and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/actors" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SAG-AFTRA</a> seemed to be going well, they came to an abrupt halt, ending hope of resolving the ongoing actors <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/strike" target="_blank" rel="noopener">strike</a> anytime soon.
Industry <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood" target="_blank" rel="noopener">professionals</a> were hoping that the recently ratified contract between the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) would spur a similar agreement with the actors as both were on strike at the same time. But now talks are halted, and the work stoppage will continue.
“After meaningful conversations, it is clear that the gap between the AMPTP and SAG-AFTRA is too great, and conversations are no longer moving us in a productive direction,” the group said in a statement, per <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/10/actors-strike-talks-suspended-1235570997/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a>. This led to those conversations being “suspended” for now, the outlet noted.
The main point of contention seems to be actors receiving compensation for streaming shows. The negotiating team for major studios estimated that the proposed resolution would cost them $2.4 billion for the length of the three-year contract, or $800 million per year.
“We hope that SAG-AFTRA will reconsider and return to productive negotiations soon,” the AMPTP statement said.
The statement also laid out some of the specific items offered in its proposed contract, which the organization said was similar to that which was ratified recently by WGA. These items included “the highest percentage increase in minimums in 35 years, which would generate an additional $717 million in wages and $177 million in contributions to the Pension and Health Plans during the contract term” and “a 58% increase in salaries for major role (guest star) performers wages on High Budget SVOD Programs.”

There would also be wage increases for other employment categories, including singers, dancers, stunt people, and other industry workers. The proposed contract also included artificial intelligence protections, another major concern that led to the strike in the first place. 
“On common issues, such as general wage increases, High-Budget SVOD residuals, and viewership bonuses, the AMPTP offered the same terms that were ratified by the DGA and WGA. Yet SAG-AFTRA rejected these,” the AMPTP statement said.
“We hope that SAG-AFTRA will reconsider and return to productive negotiations soon.”
Meanwhile, the actors union had a different take on how the talks broke down. “We have negotiated with them in good faith, despite the fact that last week they presented an offer that was, shockingly, worth less than they proposed before the strike began,” the SAG-AFTRA shared as part of a series of tweets on Thursday. 
“We have made big, meaningful counters on our end, including completely transforming our revenue share proposal, which would cost the companies less than 57¢ per subscriber each year. They have rejected our proposals and refused to counter,” the statement continued. “Instead they use bully tactics. Just tonight, they intentionally misrepresented to the press the cost of the above proposal – overstating it by 60%.”
